The hallways which bustled with people and decorations, made the intern mixer look even more overwhelming for the brunette girl. What was the intern mixer you ask? Well it was where a bunch of interns met the attendings they would work with. The white halls and grey floors were filled with people standing and walking around with either a piece of cake or a glass of champagne, neither of which she particularly enjoyed. But then she placed her eyes on the plate of fresh fruit which had her favourite, raspberries. As she walked over she found her eyes on one of the attendings she truly admired, Park Hanbin, Chief of Peds. Just as she began walking, Hanbin was interrupted by another intern. Unlike the others mimi had seen, this one just had something in him. His perfect nose, his eyebrows, his moles, his eyes, she admired it all. Soon enough she realised she was staring, like a lot. "Hello Dr. Hanbin, I'm Ricky the new intern." The intern said as he found mimi staring. He winked at her which caused her to turn around all flustered and walk back to the fruit plate. She then waited for the intern to leave. Unfortunately he wasn't going anytime soon. Soon enough mimi got bored and eventually lost hope of ever talking to the person she admired the most in the medical field.

"Hi!" A voice comes from behind her. "I'm Seowon, your co-chief resident!" The man says as Mimi turns, only to be welcomed by the most ethereal face she had ever seen. He had a sparkle in his eyes which made Mimi feel energetic immediately. "Hi! I'm your new intern" Mimi says as she chuckles nervously towards the end of her statement. "So, any speciality in mind?" Seowon asks as he takes a sip of his champagne. "Ah well I'm leaning towards peds but I'm open to learning all specialities before the intern exam."

"I like that answer" Seowon says as they both smile. They continue talking for a while before Mimi bid him adieu.

She did have to go to work tomorrow and sleeping late was not an option, only thing was, she did not take in account her hyperactive roommate, Shota. The minute she entered she was greeted with a large smile and hug from shota before he asked her how it went. She was reluctant on sitting down because she knew she'd never be able to stop talking and neither would Shota. And she had work, she was going to be ragged tomorrow by her seniors, irritated by few interns and fail one or two patients. she needed the sleep to cope with the hectic day ahead of her.

"Shota not today please, I'm gonna go, sleep till 6, take a shower and then go to work" mimi says as she removes her coat and places her purse on the nearby dresser.

"Whaaat! Can't you at least tell me about your day Mimi?" Shota whined with his puppy eyes.

"I'll be back in less than two days, let me enjoy whatever sleep I can get. I promise to tell you once I'm back. Thank you and bye" mimi says as she runs to her room before he could pull out his puppy whine. Shota just laughed at her behaviour before he continued watching TikTok on his phone.

"Okay fine, it went well, I had raspberries which were good and we'll see how it goes tomorrow because it is tomorrow that matters not today." mimi said as she opened the door.

"Thank you" Shota says as she smiles and closes the door. "Cute" He murmurs right after he could hear her retreating footsteps. The relationship between Mimi and Shota was complicated no doubt, but neither of them wanted to ruin what they had. They tried their best to shove whatever small feelings they had for it didn't really matter in the long run. Or did it?

"Tomorrow is a new day, let's do it well." Mimi says to herself in the mirror as she removed her hair clips and makeup.

"You can do this mimi" she said one last time before she went and collapsed on her bed. Little did she know she forgot to put her alarm.
