Ch 34: 'Generational Divide'
[Had fun writing the last chapter. So decided to fast-track this one.]
_____
[Your POV]
There was a unique sense of silence that filled the air when All Might first mention that a new teacher was arriving at U.A., and not only that, but that they'd be showing up for our very class right now. So, by no surprise, almost everyone began to think about just who it could be that this new teacher was. Was it someone like Kamui Woods or Mt. Lady? After all, they already had connections with U.A. through being security detail during the Sports Festival. Or maybe it was someone from left field, like someone famous such as that hero 'Hawks' I hear a few girls at school talk about, or my fear, Endeavor.
I'd hate to imagine what being in a class with him would feel like. Though, I'm sure I'd need nothing more than to ask Todoroki what that'd be like and I'd get a good enough answer. I doubt he'd waste his time with being a school teacher though, however, with this incoming teacher being used for 'Intensive Training', maybe torturing some kids would be right up his alley? Either way, whoever it was, it wouldn't really matter to me. Well, that was until a stray thought entered my mind. When All Might first mentioned that a new teacher was coming to school, I didn't really think much of it.
That was until one name came to mind. I don't even know why it did. It just came in a flash. Probably because I had been around this person for a good time now, that it was really the only logical conclusion I could come up with. But there was no way this person would come to a school to teach kids. They had no interest in that. But then...I realized something. What if this person wasn't coming to this school to teach kids, but to make sure they had constant access at fighting a particular student? Something this person believed was what they had been missing out on since they first fought this student.
Add in how the most recent outcome with this person played out, and how my life has been since coming to U.A., I realized that this once far-fetched outcome was no longer as far-fetched as once believed. It was in that moment my eyes widened with shock, but before I could even think of anything else to do with this matter...My theories had been confirmed by a single word. One sole word that was muttered from All Might's very lips in just a few seconds. A word that brought others joy, whilst it brought me uncertainty. That one word, of course, was none other than the name of the hero I recently interned under...
All Might: "Mirko!!!"
When that name came from All Might's lips, and the shock from the crowd of students around me settled, a wave of cheers instantly erupted. For some, it was from the awesome realization that they were about to meet a strongheaded, up-and-coming hero like Mirko. But for others...Mostly the guys...They were pumped up for an entire other reason. Which, I guess, was understandable. Still, after everything I had been through with Mirko lately--And especially what happened in that hospital room, it was fair to say that I was more so confused to the point I couldn't really be thrilled by the idea that Mirko was now going to be a teacher at U.A..
Like, she hated most people. And that's not even an understatement, that was, like, one of the first things she told me when I interned under her! Of course, when she was saying that, she was basically also telling me how lucky I was to be accepted by her. But after everything that had gone on between us, I can now understand why she did all of it. Even so, the fact that she was now actually going to be at U.A., meaning that I would now see her almost every day made me unsure how I should take this announcement. I mean, I already have to deal with Midnight every day, how the hell was I going to survive knowing that I now had two teachers coming after me?! ...Th-That sounded wrong. Fuck! I've been hanging around Mirko for too long!
All Might: [Waving Hand] "Haha. Alright. Alright. Calm down now, Children. Yes, as you can see, Mirko will be out new Intensive Training teacher. You all must be very excited--" [Leans Over to Mirko; Whispers] "I apologise for the intro, Mirko. Honestly, I'm a little surprised how eager and excited most of these students are. Seriously, they're never this excited for any of my classes."
Mirko: [Whilst Looking Around] "Oh, don't worry about it, All Might. Happens all the time for me. Not a big deal."
All Might: "Ah! I see! Thank you!"
All Might said with a joyous smile, however, it was clear Mirko wasn't really listening to him. A simple look her way was all it would take to see that Mirko's focus was much more on the crowd of students before her. Or, more precisely, searching the crowd of students for someone. But with All Might being All Might, he didn't really pick up on this enough to call it out. Instead, he went right back to addressing his students, who were now standing silently. Well...Silent to him, anyway.
Sato: [Whispers] "I've gotta be dreaming right? The Rabbit Hero, Mirko, is going to be a teacher at our school now? We're so lucky!"
Sero: [Whispers] "And here I thought being in a school with Midnight of all people was cool enough already! This place just got better!""
Kaminari: [Whispers] " You're telling me! I can't believe this! Mirko's going to be at this school? I'm never going to miss a day of her class ever again! I am so glad I came to this school!"
Mineta: "You're glad?! Dude! I'm questioning right now what devil I sold my soul to before I was born to be granted access to this school! But boy, am I glad it worked out! Now I get to be surrounded by four moons!"
In that moment, Mineta's face suddenly dropped as a stunned look crossed his facial features as drool fell from his mouth. Unknown to everyone else at this time, but within the mind of Mineta, the short sprout was also drooling...Whilst the, um...chest area of Midnight and Mirko were pressed against his face. I'm honestly lucky I had no idea what he was thinking in the moment. But just going off his face it was enough to make me shiver.
(Y/n): [Shivers] "Boy, am I glad I wasn't born in his family."
Kirishima: [Tosses Arm Over Your Shoulder] "Hey, (Y/n), isn't Mirko you hero you interned under?"
(Y/n): "Huh? Oh, uh, yea--"
Mineta: "Wait! That's right!" [Suddenly Turns Around] "(Y/n)! Good buddy! You know Mirko, right?!"
(Y/n): "Um--"
Kaminari: "Crap! You're right! (Y/n) does know Mirko!" [Begins to Silently Cry] "And here I thought I had finally met a woman who hadn't met (Y/n) yet!" [Screams] "WHY! CRUEL WORLD! WAS I PLACED IN A CLASS WITH (Y/N) MIDORIYA!!!"
(Y/n): "Um...?"
I honestly didn't know how to respond to that statement the most at all that came my way. Then again, it was probably made double the more difficult with most of the boys around me now staring at me instead of Mirko, and all because I know her. It kinda put me in a spot I really didn't want to be in right now, however, there wasn't really much I could do about it. Thankfully, there was someone who could, at least, in a way. And that person turned out to be the figure who still had his arm over my shoulder...Kirishima.
Kirishima: "Haha! Don't worry about them, (Y/n). They're just sad and desperate. Ha! That's something Bakugo would say--" [Turns to his right] "--Hey, Bakugo? Is that something you would--"
But upon turning to face the scruffy blonde, Kirishima was abruptly cut off when the sight we were greeted by was the simple image of Bakugo, eyes narrowed, as he glared at me. I knew exactly why. Just seeing Mirko, something he'd normally be double excited for because of his friendship with me, was now a simple reminder at how I 'betrayed' him. And the best way to remind me of his reminder of betrayal was by glaring at me from across the group of students.
Kirishima: "Oh...Uh, he's still mad at you, huh?"
(Y/n): [Sighs] "Uh...Huh."
In the end, that's all I could say before I dropped my head and shook it about. All the while Bakugo abruptly turned his gaze from me and back to the stage, his eyes still narrowed, of course. After all...He was Bakugo.
[3rd Person POV]
And so that was how the moment ended, with (Y/n) looking away in disappointment and slight guilt, whilst Bakugo kept his anger fueled. Well, that's how it seemed until...
Bakugo: [Whispers] "...Is he still looking?"
Todoroki: "Huh?"
It was in that instance that the head of Todoroki popped up. You see, the multi coloured haired male was just so happened to be standing next to Bakugo, minding his own business and listening to what All Might had to say, when his focus was abruptly drawn away by the voice of Bakugo. But as fate would have it, Todoroki didn't exactly hear what Bakugo was saying. So he was forced to shift his gaze in the direction of the boy standing next to him, but when he turned to face Bakugo, he saw Bakugo's still head was remaining in the position it had been when he first spoke to Todoroki. Looking straight ahead.
Bakugo: "Is he still looking?"
Todoroki: "What?"
Bakugo: "(Y/n)! Is (Y/n) still looking this way?"
Confused beyond belief, but deciding to comply, Todoroki slowly lifted his head a little further and looked passed Bakugo to see that (Y/n) was indeed no longer looking his way.
Todoroki: [To Bakugo] "No, (Y/n) isn't looking this way."
Bakugo: "Oh, thank goodness!" [Immediately drops his narrowed Gaze] "I swear, if I squeezed my eyes like that for any longer I'm worried people would start to think I'm Chinese."
Todoroki: "But you're already Japane--"
Bakugo: "Tomatoes! Potatos! Twin Pubes!" [Looks to Todoroki] "Look, don't worry about the finer details in life, okay? You'll go blind."
Todoroki: "Why do you call me, 'Twin Pubes' for?"
Bakugo: [Sighs; Mutters] "Lord, have mercy." [Sighs Again; Looks at Todoroki] "Because, Twin Pubes, you have two different hair colors--I shouldn't have to explain the rest!"
Todoroki: "Yes, but you call everyone by a nickname. What I meant was why do you do that, and not just refer to them by their names?"
Bakugo: "Come on, dude, you really want me to spell it out for you?"
The silent look Todoroki gave was clear answer enough.
Bakugo: "Okay, look! Do I look like the type of guy to be bothered by people around me? I don't care about your names or sexuality, just do you, 'kay? So I prefer to call people by nicknames! I mean, that's cool, right? And I've already blessed people with great names! We've got you, 'Twin Pubes'. Then we've got 'Knock-Off Spider-Man'; 'Red Haired Sonic'; 'Electric Guy'; 'Tail Guy'; 'Angry Birds'--Both because he reminds me of the game and he's always depressed looking; and then we've got 'Extra'...The one with the glasses!"
"Hey! What did I say about calling people 'extras', Bakugo?"
The voice of Iida--The Extra with Glasses; suddenly said in the background. Such caused Bakugo to abruptly twist his head and yell back.
Bakugo: "Nuh, uh! Extra! You can't tell me shit after what you did! Besides, you're the only extra her! You're special...Like a disabled rat in a science lab or some shit!!"
The silence from Iida was enough of a response from Bakugo, as for when he turned back to Todoroki, the constantly shocked blinking from the boy was also enough for the blonde.
Todoroki: [Shakes Head] "I'm afraid to ask, but... What about the girls then?"
Bakugo: "Well, I normally just categorise them as '(Y/n)s Future Girlfriends'; but seeing as I'm upset with him right now...I don't know? Guy with boobs? Look! I've got enough to stress about right now, Ice Spice, so leave me be!"
Todoroki: "...Ice Spice?"
Bakugo: "I know. I know. Not my best work. But that only proves my point! I'm stressed and need to relax." [Sighs] "...I still don't understand why this school doesn't allow handheld consoles in during the day."
It was by this point that Todoroki realized that any conversation with Bakugo was not worth it. So, he remained silent, instead returning his focus to All Might, who had been continuing his conversation with the students all this time now.
All Might: "Alrighty then!" [Turns to Mirko] "Mirko, seeing as this is technically your first class, would you like to explain to everyone the meaning of--"
Mirko: [Still Looking Around] "Can't right now, All Might. Busy."
All Might: "O-Oh, um...Alright then." [Coughs and suddenly Smiles] "Okay, people! Here is the go-to for today's class! Behind me is Field Gamma, as you already know. It is in this compact area that you will find the factory layout filled with pipes and other structures laid out to create an intricate labyrinth. It is in this maze that each student will go one-on-one with Miss Mirko!"
That last part definitely caught the attention of a few people in particular.
Kaminari: "One on One?"
Sero: "With Mirko?"
Mineta: [Almost Crying] "THIS IS THE HAPPIEST DAY OF MY LIFE!!!"
All Might: [Continuing] "...It is during this process you will basically play a game of Cat and Mouse. Your job is to reach the distress call signal that I will initiate someplace within the labyrinth behind me before Mirko reaches you. And if she does reach you...You will then have to hope your Quirks will help you to either escape and reach the signal, or fight and make your way through."
Mirko: "Ha! Like that could happen!"
Mirko quickly stopped her frantically looking around to declare such to All Might with a grin, all before she quickly went back to looking around for the particular person she had on her mind. Thankfully for her, it wasn't long until her eyes landed on the familiar pair of green ears that perched atop the equally as green mask of a certain hero in training. When Mirko spotted this her looking around came to a stop, though the excitement inside only continued to steadily grow.
All Might: "Uh, um...Yes. Anyway! With that being said, all that's left is to pick who goes first!"
Instantly, (Y/n)'s head turned toward the stage. In that same moment, All Might's large smile returned as he sent out his pointer finger and slowly began its travels across the crowd. By this point, the anticipation for who would be chosen had arrived. Everyone focusing on All Might's finger to see whom it would land upon. But just when it seemed to hover a little too long over the figure of Mineta, All Might's focus was suddenly broken when Mirko moved a little closer to the Number One Hero and began to whisper something into his ear. This most definitely caught the attention of everyone present. But no one grew more concerned than (Y/n) himself, who had a strange feeling about what was about to happen.
(Y/n): [Narrows Gaze] "...Why do I feel like this is about to get worse for me...?"
All Might: [Smiles Brightly] "Oh my! That sounds like a wonderful idea, Mirko!"
Mirko: [Smiles Brightly] "I know, right? Isn't it?"
(Y/n): [Narrows Gaze] "...Mirko's smiling. That's not a good sign... It's never a good sign..."
All Might: [Turns to the Class] "Alright, students! It seems that the task of picking who to go first is no longer needed! Mirko already has the perfect student in mind!"
Instantly, shock and confusion flooded the crowd of students. Well...Mostly confusion from every normal person who began questioning who Mirko could have chosen. The shock part came from Mineta, who felt his opportunity to get one-on-one action with the Rabbit Hero was abruptly taken away. And then there was (Y/n)...Whose already narrowed gaze had narrowed further upon hearing All Might's statement.
(Y/n): "...Yep. Totally screwed... I knew I shouldn't have come into school today."
But (Y/n)'s cries for help were not heard that day...They were never heard. At last, all the young boy could do was drop his head with a sigh before seconds later the void of silence around everyone was brought to life by the laughter of All Might.
All Might: "Haha! Now then, to rest those confused faces of you children out there, I now shall reveal the chosen student Mirko has decided to face off against first." [Raises a single finger] "This student is someone brave, and willing to risk it all--"
"--So not Mineta?"
Mineta: [Stunned] "Wha--"
Shocked by the words, the young Mineta, who still held out hope that Mirko would chose him, was suddenly brought back to reality by the cruel...and honestly true, words of Bakugo, who ideally stood close by amongst the crowd of students.
Mineta: "Bakugo! How could you say that about me?"
Bakugo: "...Huh?" [Turns to Mineta] "Oh. I didn't know you were standing there?"
Mineta: "How?! We're legit right next to--"
Bakugo: "Besides, there was no way you were getting chosen, Purple Balls."
Mineta: "But...Purple Balls...I...T-There was a chance!"
Bakugo: [Tiredly Blinks] "You seriously think a bombshell like Mirko would chose you? Look, I know she herself is short, but you... You're just downright non-existant with your height, guy."
The broken look in which Mineta now carried seemed to confirm just how much the young boy had given up on life. Yet, somehow, he held out even the slightest of hopes that he could still be chosen...Until...
All Might: "--This person is also well capable of holding their own in a fight, and will punch fear right in the face without a single moment of that fear consuming them!"
Bakugo: [To Mineta] "Still think it's you?"
Mineta: [Sighs; Drops Head] "Yeah. Yeah. Okay, I get it..."
It was with this realization that the world could finally continue on its natural path, and with such, also came the conclusion to All Might's sentence.
All Might: "--By this point, it should be clear enough who I am speaking of. A student who you all seem to admire. A young man who am I proud to call my student. Someone who carries forth the true meaning of a hero. I, of course, am speaking of young (Y/n) Midoriya! Haha! Where are you, Young Midoriya?! Raise your hand and come forth!!"
Immediately everyone went to turn their heads in anticipation and excitement to catch a glimpse of their friend, for whereas most would have liked to go first...some were also glad that the best in the class was going first, hoping that he'd somehow tire Mirko out enough to the point when they eventually went up against her, she wouldn't hurt them as bad. So hearing (Y/n)'s name brought a wave of excitement for people like Ashido, Sero, Koda, and Kaminari to name a few. Whilst there was also equal levels of excitement from Uraraka, Hagakure, and Yaoyorozu, who all enjoyed seeing (Y/n) fight during class.
But, by no surprise, the person who was most excited amongst the people gathered, was none other than the person (Y/n) was destined to fight...Mirko! It had already been a while since their scuffle in the hospital room. That day, Mirko tasted defeat. Not only did (Y/n) deny her advances--Not that that would really stop her for long--But her itch was also driving her too damn crazy at this point. She needed to needed to feel the adrenaline that came with fighting the young man.
So when she heard the name of the boy called, her eager eyes and excited smile instantly darted in the direction of the crowd where she had previously spotted (Y/n)'s extended rabbit ears. The only thing about this time was...She couldn't see them. Like, nowhere. No matter how hard she looked through the crowd before her, she couldn't see (Y/n). This caused the Rabbit Hero to grow confused, and that feeling was soon shared by the students as well, who also began to look around for their classmates. But no matter how hard any of them tried to spy on the boy, they couldn't see him. It was only brought up when All Might received no response to his previous question.
All Might: "Um...Young Midoriya? ...Are you there?"
If crickets were present in this certain area of the school right now, they could have been heard from the silence. Nothing but a cough could be heard in the distance. But even then, that was only used as an effect to showcase how silent it was.
All Might: "Ah, maybe he didn't hear me? Alright then...I was speaking pretty loud but..." [Coughs; Smiles Brightly] "--I, of course, am speaking of young (Y/n) Midoriya! Haha! Where are you, Young Midoriya?! Raise your hand and come forth!!"
...But just like before, no hand was raised. The surrounding area was just fueled by people looking around in search of the aforementioned male. It seemed that he was nowhere to be seen, however. This, of course, confused All Might and everyone else. But for Mirko, she wasn't confused...She was pissed. (Y/n) knew full well about her 'itch', and how if it wasn't quenched, this itch...made her a bitch...Okay, so, that's what Mirko was thinking when she thought about her itch.
It didn't really make sense, but she couldn't resist the intrusive thought when thinking of it. BUT THAT DOESN'T MATTER! What did matter was that this rabbit was itching like crazy and she needed a damn good fight to get rid of it. And by all that is holy, Mirko was going to get the fight she wanted. Even if she had to rip through these students one at a time until (Y/n) finally gathered the BALLS to face her...However, it seemed that vast thinking wasn't needed in the end.
Kaminari: "Hey, look! (Y/n)'s making a run for it!"
Mirko: "Huh?!"
Immediately, the eyes of every person in the area proceeded to follow the direction in which Kaminari was pointing to see in the not-so-far distance, the (H/c) and green hair of a boy wearing an equally green suit trying his best to sneak out of the area before he was noticed. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case, leaving him to slowly turn around to reveal the 'displeased' face he now carried.
(Y/n): [Annoyingly Grumbles] "Gee, Kaminari... Finally, do something and you screw me over like this? Not cool, dude..."
It didn't take long for Kaminari to be thundered by hearing these words, though everyone else either wasn't phased, or didn't hear them. Unfortunately for (Y/n), his attempt at getting the attention on Kaminari was now gone completely, as both All Might and Mirko had now locked their gazes onto the young boy.
All Might: [Confused] "Oh! Young Midoriya, there you are? How come you didn't respond when I called out to you?"
Mirko: [Fully Serious] "Yeah. Why you running away?"
(Y/n): "H-Huh? Oh, um...I wasn't going, I-I mean..." [To All Might] "I-I'm not really feeling well so I was maybe going to see Recovery Girl and...Yeah..."
All Might: "Oh. I see. Well, if you feel you have t--"
Mirko: "Nope."
(Y/n): [To Mirko] "Huh?"
Mirko: [Shakes Head; Hands on Hips] "Nope. Not good enough. You're staying."
(Y/n): "Wha--But I--" [Chuckles Lightly] "I-I really don't feel well--"
Mirko: "--And there's nothing like a good fight to cure sickness and itches. So, hurry up, get up here and fight me. Now."
(Y/n): "Um..."
Unsure of what to really do, all (Y/n) could do was look around in confusion, hoping the action would somehow deliver him an exit from this situation he had somehow ended up in. Before long, all the other students joined him in doing so, though only because they found it a little strange that Mirko wasn't letting him leave if he wasn't feeling well.
All Might: [Leans Over; Whispers] "Um...Miss Mirko, I don't know if you're aware, but as teachers, we can't really force people to do classes if they are not feeling well--"
Mirko: [Suddenly Turns to All Might] "Force?! Who said anything about force?! I'm not forcing (Y/n) to do anything!" [Suddenly Turns to You] "Am I, (Y/n)?!"
The way in which Mirko now stared at the boy, clearly her tough gaze daring him to go against what she was saying.
(Y/n): "Um...Well, I--"
Mirko: [Turns to All Might] "See?! Not forcing whatsoever!" [Turns to You] "Now, (Y/n), hurry up and follow me into this stupid area behind me and fight me!!"
(Y/n): "...B-But I kinda--"
Mirko: "(Y/N)! COME!"
(Y/n): "...A-Alright then..."
...Realizing there was no future with victory in sight, all (Y/n) could do was simply succumb to the authority that was Mirko. The other students merely watched on in confusion and slight concern as their classmate reluctantly followed after Mirko into Ground Gamma. It was just before he went in, that he stopped one final time to turn to All Might with pleading eyes. But all his teacher and mentor could do was sigh as he placed a hand on the boys' shoulder.
All Might: "...I have faced plenty of villains in my time, Young Midoriya. Many of which made me struggle to sleep at night..." [Turns in the direction of Mirko] "...But none of those things scares me like Mirko does..." [Smiles Brightly] "So what I'm trying to say is best of luck and try not to die, okay?"
Those words finished with a thumbs up from the Number One Hero was all (Y/n) received, leaving the boy stunned from everything he just heard. However, he couldn't rest on them for very long, however.
Mirko: [In the distance] "(Y/N), HURRY UP! I'M HUNGRY AND WANT TO FIGHT! GET IN HERE!!!"
Upon turning in the direction of Mirko, (Y/n) was greeted by the sight of the rabbit hero kicking a large metal pipe with her foot and crushing it with ease. In the end, a simple gulp of fear was all (Y/n) could give before he turned to his teacher and classmates a final time. It seemed everyone watching knew of the potential dangers that now followed the boy, and with that knowledge, they all silently wished him luck as (Y/n) finally turned to follow after his...teacher? ...Mentor? ...Angry Girlfriend? Honestly, he didn't really know...Heck! Not even Bakugo knew!
Bakugo: [Narrows Gaze] "...Hmm...From what (Y/n) said, he denied Mirko in the hospital, but even so, she still acts the part of a girlfriend...I'll have to take notes for further research..."
Bakugo just continued to keep his gaze narrowed as he scratched his chin. Meanwhile, to the side, a confused Todoroki just watched it all go down in silence and questioned whether or not Bakugo was being serious about taking notes on this. Either way, Todoroki didn't get an answer...as for (Y/n), well...He didn't die. That was a good thing, right? Then again, his day wasn't finished yet. But another person who had kept their gaze on (Y/n) from amongst the students, was Akiko, the niece of Aizawa and a member of Class 1-A for about three weeks now. Of course, her history with (Y/n) was known, but seeing how he acted now, even as he reluctantly followed after Mirko, made the girl question and realize just how much he changed...
--Lunch Time | School Cafeteria--
It was funny, throughout his life, (Y/n) never once expected it to be as...eventful...as it was during his time at U.A.. Like, seriously! He didn't expect it to be anything like this, let along having to deal with a muscular rabbit girl with anger issues and making a slight case of unintentional lewdness to her whole persona. But even then, (Y/n) could get through with it believing that he'd only have to deal with it during his time as an intern. But as the boy had now discovered, he also was forced to deal with it during school now! It also didn't help that Mirko basically forced him into fighting her during the previous classes course, when he really didn't want to because he was worried that if he showed too much enthusiasm or willingness, it may make Uraraka upset.
And he didn't want that right now. Yet, he seemed forced to deal with everything revolving around Mirko. Thankfully, there were times when he did get a break from it all. Such as lunchtime. It was during this time to eat that (Y/n) was able to find refuge, mainly due to the fact that teachers didn't eat lunch in the same exact area as students. Which meant for the next 45 minutes he'd not need to worry about an aggressive rabbit hero stalking him like he was prey. It was during this time, that just like everybody else, (Y/n) found himself waiting in line ready to order his lunch. However, what was different about this moment in time despite the urge to look over your shoulder every few seconds that is.
Was that whereas he'd normally spend it with Uraraka and Bakugo waiting in line, neither of the pair could be seen. Mainly because Uraraka had suddenly been pulled away by Hagakure and Yaoyorozu as soon as class finished. That left (Y/n) to believe it'd just be him and Bakugo to wait in line, but even then, Bakugo decided to ditch him because he was 'still processing everything'. After hearing that, (Y/n) decided it'd be best if Bakugo did order lunch on his own. Even so, (Y/n) didn't want to wait in line alone, so he sought after a buddy to accompany him...that and also so if Mirko came along he'd have someone to throw at her so he could run away.
(Y/n): "...Thanks for waiting in line with me, by the way. Food Rush may be quick with making food, but still, waiting in line alone sucks."
"Oh, don't worry about it, (Y/n). I'm just honestly happy you chose me out of everyone!"
Offering a smile, (Y/n) proceeded to turn his gaze to the right where his chosen companion for the moment could be seen, Kirishima! Though, he did still seem sore over something.
Kirishima: "It's...It's also good to be chosen after hearing the guys have a group chat and I'm not in it, so, uh, I really needed this (Y/n)." [Tries to cheer up] "But what am I saying? You, Bakugo and I, we're like the three best fri--"
Before he could finish his sentence, however, a hand suddenly wrapped over Kirishima's mouth from behind. Not even a single groan for help could escaped his sealed lips before his entire body was pulled out of view, unbeknownst to (Y/n), of course, who had previously decided to simply listen to what Kirishima had to say with his ears whilst he focused on looking up at the menu above for what he could chose for lunch. Leading the boy to not even notice when a new figure took Kirishima's spot right beside him in the waiting line.
(Y/n): "Hmm...Chicken culet, hamburgers, fried chicken...Damn, Food Rush really has the good stuff on today." [Chuckles] "Don't ya think, Kirishima?"
(???): "Oh, yes, (Y/n). The good stuff is definitely on today~"
(Y/n): "Haha. Yea--Wait--"
It only took a few seconds before (Y/n) realized the distinct lack of anything 'Kirishima' to do with the voice that spoke to him. So by the time he realized such, (Y/n) immediately pulled his gaze off the menu wall above him and turned to his right. But instead of his eyes coming in contact with Kirishima, they instead came in contact with a pair of rather large boobs sealed behind thin white fabric. Five seconds later, (Y/n) slowly lifted his head to see the boobs were attached to the only person in which the previous details would match...
Midnight: [Grins] "Hey, hero~ Miss me?"
(Y/n): "Oh...Hey, Midnight, what's up?"
He said casually...Much to Midnight's inner turmoil. Nevertheless, she progressed forward.
Midnight: "Oh, nothing. Just getting lunch..."
(Y/n): "Huh? Cool."
Midnight: [Smiles to herself] "Yeah...It is..."
Meanwhile, in the mind of the Rated R teacher, her thoughts weren't as calm.
Midnight: "FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! WHY CAN'T THIS JUST BE EASY?! WHY DOESN'T HE ACT LIKE EVERY OTHER GUY?! DOES HE NOT FIND ME HOT?!"
Midnight was actually pretty close to just grabbing (Y/n) by the crop of his uniform and begin shaking him about as she screamed out her frustrations onto him. However, before she could begin doing such, she was suddenly brought back to reality when she noticed something about (Y/n). He currently, as he waited in line, had a packet of ice in hand which he used to push against his neck.
Midnight: "Is your neck hurt, (Y/n)?"
(Y/n): "Huh? Oh...Uh, yeah, a little, I guess."
Midnight: "How did you hurt it?"
(Y/n): "Oh, um...Well..."
(Y/n) was tempted to just outright say that Mirko got a little to 'eager' in their fight, and with him trying his best to just avoid her outright and search for the distress signal from All Might so he wouldn't have to go up against her, it made it rather tough to come out uninjured. But then (Y/n) remembered he was talking to Midnight right now, so he decided to not exactly say that.
(Y/n): "...I twisted my neck during All Might's class."
Midnight: "Oh, I see..." [Thoughts] "That idiot, All Might! Doesn't he know being too tough and aggressive on students is stupid?! Like, honestly, who'd be so relenting on poor innocent young adults?"
(Y/n): [Casually looks up at the menu] "So...Where's Kirishima?"
Midnight: [Shakes Head] "Huh? Oh..." [Grins] "Kirishima? Who's that, (Y/n)? Oh, was he your little friend who was standing here a moment ago?" [Fake Laughs] "He said he had to take care of something, and that I should keep his spot warm!"
(Y/n): "Um...Okay?"
A momentary glance away from the menu to look at Midnight was the only other response (Y/n) made. Of course, that only lasted a few seconds before he looked back to the menu. This just annoyed Midnight further, (Y/n) was still not falling for her charms! But, unbeknownst to Midnight, this was (Y/n)'s plan. After all, (Y/n)'s whole strategy with the overly flirtatious female teacher was to basically ignore her advances, as he knew fully well that it annoyed his teacher. But, of course, the fact that Midnight was still Midnight was something neither one of them could ignore. So it wasn't much of a surprise when Midnight went right back to teasing the boy.
Midnight: "So, (Y/n)...I heard your internship was quite 'eventful'~"
(Y/n): [Thoughts] "Crap. Does she know about Mirko? No...There's no way she knows about Mirko. She couldn't?! Mirko wouldn't?! ...Right?!"
Midnight: "I mean, you went up against a big, scary, hero killer of a villain all by yourself. You must have been scared, right?"
(Y/n): "Uh, um...No? I wasn't scared, not really anyway."
Midnight: [Suddenly smiles] "Oh, that's right! I almost forgot, fear isn't the villains thing to use when it comes to fighting you, is it?" [Suddenly Grins] "It's yours, isn't it~"
(Y/n): [Without looking] "Well, my quirk basically is fear so...I guess so?"
Midnight: [Cherrfully smiles] "Which reminds me, actually! I was listening to a few eyewitness reports of a 'scary' figure in green wiping the floor with Stain, and you know what? Each time I heard it I couldn't help but get a feeling inside of me. A feeling of completion!"
If (Y/n) would have had water in his mouth right now...It wouldn't be in his mouth. It'd be on the back of the person standing in front of him. Immediately following her sentence, Midnight sent a seemingly concerned gaze down to the male next to her. Though, for (Y/n), he knew the concern was nothing more than a trick, though it was a welcoming fact that she seemingly didn't know anything about Mirko.
(Y/n): "I'm sorry--" [Turns to Midnight] "--What?!"
Midnight: "Hmm? Oh! I was just saying how good I felt when I realized all the training you've been put through here at U.A. must be helping you improve. And, I mean, I know it may sound a little selfish, but I can't help but feel that even in the smallest of ways, I helped you in that progress!"
Okay! Now Midnight was sounding more like Mirko, with her whole 'double meaning' with every sentence thing! Of course, that's what (Y/n) was thinking. But having known Midnight's character a whole lot more than Mirko's, it gave (Y/n) more belief that Midnight was being more on the nose with her sentences than Mirko was. Even so, with all of this being said, (Y/n) was not prepared for the next sentence to come out of the former homeroom teacher's mouth.
Midnight: "It's funny, actually! When I heard you lost your first fight with Stain and ended up in hospital, I immediately raced over because I just knew you weren't going to stop at that to bring him to justice. But whilst I was on the way, I was wondering what I could do to 'motivate' you into going to the next level on your next fight. But when I got there, I found you were in a coma, the good news was however, you weren't the only one in the room at that moment!"
It didn't take much for (Y/n) to realize who Midnight was alluding to. He already knew full well who she was talking about. After all, who was the first person to be by his side after his attack by Stain? Who had always been there for him since the day he was born? Who was the one who'd always love him unconditionally? It was, of course, none other than Inko Midoriya, (Y/n)'s mother, and going off the wicked grin in that Midnight returned to her lips, it quickly became obvious what she was suggesting at.
However, what Midnight wasn't expecting from (Y/n) was his quick thinking. Because you see, at this moment, Midnight knew that (Y/n) knew that Midnight was referring to his Mom. But what Midnight didn't know that (Y/n) knew, was that (Y/n) knew Midnight knew that (Y/n) knew that Midnight was referring to his Mom, and with his hopes of continuing to one-up the flirty teacher in regards to dropping her advancements, (Y/n) did what the cool kids these days call...A Uno reverse card. And it was with this idea in mind, that nothing held (Y/n) back from enacting his plan.
Midnight: "Your M--"
(Y/n): "--Oh, yeah, Mom said you came around to see me when I was in the coma."
The sudden statement, one she wasn't expecting, quickly left Midnight silent...and a little surprised.
Midnight: "She...She told you I came?"
(Y/n): "Yeah. Oh! She also told me how you looked after her, and made sure the doctors provided everything she needed whilst she was staying at the hospital as well."
Midnight was soon brought to even more of a pause when (Y/n) proceeded to genuinely smile at her. It wasn't something that happened often, as she basically considered the boy a bag of bricks when it came to her flirting. But when he got like this, it brought her entire being to a pause that no amount of flirting or witty remarks back to her could do. And perhaps it was all only doubled with the fact that in this moment, (Y/n) genuinely meant what he was saying. Especially what was to come next from his mouth, which ended up leaving the biggest effect on Midnight.
(Y/n): "I know it may be a common thing to think, but my Mom really means a lot to me. She's been there when I needed her most, so...with someone being there when I couldn't be there for her, and even going to the point to make sure she was as comfortable as she could be in the moment, to hear that you did that for her was a really cool. And I appreciate it. So, I guess what I'm trying to say is...Thanks?"
Midnight didn't know what effected her most. Was it his smile? The soft tone in which he spoke? Or was it that for the first time their roles of her being the flirt, and him ignoring her, seemed to be pushed to the side so they could actually share a proper moment together. It was clear (Y/n) still found himself feeling some kind of awkwardness from the moment, but Midnight didn't mind. The fact that (Y/n) was actually paying attention to her felt nice. Kinda like how you feel in highschool when you have a crush on someone you like!
Well, in Midnight's case, it was normally the people who had crushes on her, but right now she believed this is what those people felt like. So when she realized she was sharing this moment with (Y/n), who she didn't exactly have a crush on, at least she believed currently, but simply liked to tease him, the fact that he wasn't being a tool right now made her...happy, to say the least. Enough to the point that immediately following this moment, Midnight forced herself to lower her gaze as the smile on her face grew.
Midnight: [Giggles] "Th-That's okay, (Y/n)! I...I had fun helping your Mom. She's really nice..."
The smile in which she carried now, similar to that of an innocent schoolgirl, remained on Midnight's lips the entire time the pair waited in line. Gone was any attempt from her to tease or flirt with (Y/n), she no longer cared about trying to make his stoic persona crack and admit he found her attractive. She just...Enjoyed the moment for what it was. And (Y/n) seemed to see that as not that big of a deal, to the point he just stood there in silence alongside Midnight as they waited to order food.
It seemed, for once, that there was actually going to be a normal encounter between the pair. But...of course...knowing (Y/n)'s life, things were soon to get complicated. And what better form of complication was to come his way when he happened to have two older women like him, without knowing of the other's existence? Well, jealousy, of course! And it just so happened to come when Midnight thought her and (Y/n) were sharing a rather nice moment. But just like all good things...They were suddenly ruined.
"Hey! There you are, Rookie, I was looking all over for you!"
(Y/n): [Widens Eyes] *Gulps*
Midnight: "...Hmm?"
As soon as she heard the new voice, Midnight quickly turned her head around. It was in doing so that she was shocked to see the sight of Rabbit Hero, Mirko, a somewhat familiar face, though not around U.A., seemingly appearing out of nowhere and approaching her? Wait. No. She wasn't approaching Midnight, well, not outright, she was approaching the person next to her...
Midnight: [Confused; Thoughts] "...(Y/n)?"
Midnight was suddenly brought back to reality, however, when she saw how (Y/n) acted whilst now in the presence of Mirko, who now stood in front of him, a hand on hip as her head slightly tilted to the side.
(Y/n): "Oh, um...Hey, Mirko? What's up...?" [Thoughts] "And here I thought having one teacher to worry about was bad, I completely forgot that there's a second one as well now."
Mirko: [Smiles] "Oh, nothing much! Just looking to get some grub before my next class." [Chuckles] "Though, I guess I gotta blame you for me feeling so hungry. You really went rough on me, huh?"
(Y/n): "Wha--"
Midnight: [Eyes Widen] "WHAT?!"
It was quite a surprise that (Y/n)'s shock, you know, the one that deserved to actually be shocked in this moment after hearing such words, was almost immediately overshadowed by the shock that exploded from Midnight's lips. And it wasn't just her words that caused her surprise to be revealed, but also the stunned look that crossed her face right now. Not only was these defining features enough to also capture the attention of surrounding students that also waited in line to get their food, but most importantly, it was able to get Mirko's attention as well. The rabbit hero only now seeming to grasp that (Y/n) wasn't alone.
Mirko: "Oh, Midnight? You're here..." [Turns to You] "I see you already have some company, (Y/n)."
Mirko made sure to offer her former intern a displeasing look as she said that, as if she was actually his girlfriend who had just found he was standing in line with another girl. (Y/n), of course, already having had enough of this did nothing but drop his head with a sigh. It was as this happened that Midnight managed to regather herself, shaking the shook from hearing Mirko's previous sentence, enough that she was able to muster a smile as she greeted the hero.
Midnight: "Uh...Mirko? Um, hi? What are... What are you doing here--At U.A., I mean!"
Mirko: "Oh...I teach here now."
Midnight: [Shocked] "YOU DO?!"
Again...Midnight's shock might have gotten the better of her. Enough that yet another wave of glances from surrounding students was sent the way of the two older women and (Y/n), who was still stuck in the middle with his head lowered.
Midnight: [Coughs Abruptly] "Um...Sorry about that. Haha! It's just...I'm a little surprised, is all. I didn't exactly think you were one for...teaching?"
Mirko: "Oh, you'd be right about that. I hate teaching kids."
Midnight: "...Oh? So, um...Why did you come to U.A. then? I-If you don't mind me asking, of course?"
You know, Midnight wasn't normally one to be thrown off from confidence. Though, maybe that's because she fully knew how attractive she was, and with those traits, it didn't really take much for her to be her true herself when speaking to people. However, that was normally when talking to men and women that she didn't necessarily find a...threat, to make it sound simple. And even then she doesn't normally think of people that way, as she fully believed that if she were to go up against any other woman in anything, Midnight could surely beat them. But in this case, it was different.
Not only was she thrown off by the fact that Mirko was in U.A., but that she also seemed to know (Y/n)...and they seemed to speak in a way that (Y/n) didn't exactly do with her. Of course, though, in this moment, Midnight's mind may have been overdoing the whole thing a little more within the walls of her mind compared to reality. Solely because she was seriously finding herself a little...surprised...that Mirko knew (Y/n)...and that he wasn't outright ignoring her advances like he would for her. Like, seriously! He got shocked just from Mirko appearing out of nowhere! He never did that with her! So it's fair to say Midnight had every right to be annoyed by this--
Midnight: [Tries to Smile] *Attempts to Giggle Softly*
Mirko: "Well, I guess you could say that I had my...reasons...to come to U.A.. So, yeah, let's put it like that! Reasons!"
(Y/n): [Grumbles] "...Yeah, reasons to make my school life worse."
Mirko: [Agitated] "I'm sorry, (Y/n), what was that?"
(Y/n): [Startled] "H-Huh? Oh, I wasn't-I was just--"
Mirko: "--You know what I think about people who mumble under their breath, (Y/n)."
(Y/n): "Yeah, but--"
Mirko: "--And what do I think about people that mumble?"
(Y/n): "Yeah, I know. But I--"
Mirko: [Getting Serious] "--What. Do. I. Think. About. People. Who. Mumble. (Y/n)?"
The stern look in which Mirko offered (Y/n) was most definitely something Midnight was not expecting. But what more she didn't expect, was how (Y/n) failed to find any way to defeat it. Normally, if it was Midnight who was in the place of Mirko right now, (Y/n) would easily manage his focus without worrying too much about how much authority she showcased in the conversation. But right now, there was something about the stern staredown in which Mirko carried as she glared at (Y/n) with both hands now on her hips, that the young man couldn't escape from. The eventual outcome just left Midnight even more shocked...and annoyed.
(Y/n): [Sighs] "...You don't like people that mumble, because you say that people who mumble don't have the guts to say whatever it is they have to say out loud."
Mirko: "Good. And what do I think of people who don't have guts?"
(Y/n): "...That they aren't strong and don't have a right to be a hero..."
Mirko: "And are you strong and have the right to be a hero?"
(Y/n): "Yeah, but--"
This time around, Mirko didn't even say a word. She just slightly leaned forward. And with that added on by the already present gaze and hands on hips, it was enough of an intimidating sight for (Y/n) to take in.
(Y/n): "...Yes."
Mirko: "Then don't mumble. Simple as that."
And if Midnight wasn't already confused by everything going on, she was only left feeling more of this emotion when Mirko suddenly drop every previous expression she had to immediately smile and fold her arms over her chest. All before she turned such a more faint expression back towards Midnight herself.
Mirko: "Sorry about that. What were you saying again?"
Midnight: [Slightly Intimidated] "Um...N-Nothing really."
Mirko: "Oh. Okay."
From this point on, the gathered characters of Midnight, Mirko, and (Y/n) just stood in place, a line of three, all waiting for their turn to order food. Amongst these three faces, different expressions could be seen. On Midnight's face, she was, as previously mentioned, slightly intimidated, added with the inner cages of annoyance, slight jealousy, and potential fear for getting on Mirko's bad side. Next was Mirko, who seemed pleased with herself. Though for whatever reason for having such emotions like that were, so far, unknown.
But most likely that was not a good thing for (Y/n). And speaking of (Y/n), he just stood in between these two bombshells of a woman, a drained look on his face as any smile he previously had was now long gone. It seemed destiny that nothing but silence would fill the surrounding void until all was over and done with. Something (Y/n) was actually okay with for once. However, just when he thought peace was to follow his footsteps from this point forward, he was quickly reminded that he was the main character and tension was needed for the plot.
Midnight/Mirko: "...So how do you know (Y/n)?"
And there it was! The spark that was needed to set this already flammable moment into a complete forest fire. When (Y/n) heard that sentence, he already knew what was to come. Such was confirmed when both Midnight and Mirko proceeded to take in the sentence that just entered the air. Once they did, both women, each standing on one side of (Y/n), slowly turned to face the other. It was clear now that whatever emotions they had before was now wiped free from their minds. Instead, sparks of annoyance and slight jealousy were beginning to rise. Although both females tried their best to hide it, neither one didn't exactly lack any judgment on what the other was thinking. Nevertheless, they tried to keep it timid...at first.
Midnight: [Fake Giggles] "...I'm sorry, I interrupted you. You go first."
Mirko: [Fake Giggles] "No. No. I interrupted you. Please, you say what you were saying."
Midnight: [Fake Smiles] "Well, alright then." [Fake Giggles] "It's nothing really. I was just asking how you knew (Y/n). You know...Because you seem to certainly know him pretty well going off what I've seen."
Mirko: [Fake Smiles] "Is that so? Well, yes, I do know (Y/n). I was his mentor when he was my intern after all." [Tosses arm over your shoulder] "Isn't that right, (Y/n)? You were my intern...Weren't you?"
The confused and uncertain male could only open his eyes slightly further as the pressure from the arm over his shoulder grew. All he could do was muster the best smile he could in the moment as he glanced up at Midnight whilst he wished to have been thrown to the side like Kirishima was earlier.
(Y/n): "Um...Yeah. I was Mirko's intern."
Instantly upon hearing this, Midnight's gaze narrowed down on (Y/n) who outright gulped upon seeing it. Honestly, he wasn't scared by much, but the glaring gaze of a woman...It most definitely scared this man. Especially when it came from a woman who didn't exactly do such a thing to him, leaving him unsure how to act like he normally would when in Midnight's presence.
Midnight: [Still looking at you] "Is that so? Because that's funny, Bakugo said you were interning under Death Arms, (Y/n)? Were you lying to us?"
Yet again, another wave of shock and fear washed over the young boy's face in an instant.
(Y/n): "...L-Lying? Me? T-To you? No! No! I would...I would never lie..." [Thoughts] "Fuck this stupid alliance between Bakugo and Midnight! Why the fuck are they even talking about me anywa--Wait! Why am I even asking that? I already know why they're--Ack!"
His inner monologues were suddenly cut off, however, when the already present weight from Mirko's muscular arm around his shoulders, only got even tighter. This time it was like she was outright trying to put him in a chokehold, and when he turned his pleaful gaze towards the woman, he was greeted by a dark staredown that could rival even the most diabolical of villains.
Mirko: "What's this I am hearing, (Y/n)? You didn't tell people you were interning under me? Why was that? Were you ashamed to be doing that? Especially after I CHOSE you and we shared so much time together? Why would you not tell anyone about me...?"
(Y/n): "Well, um--Haha--You see..."
Mirko: [Getting Serious] "Uh, huh. Go on."
(Y/n): [Glances at Midnight and Mirko] "No... I sense no matter what I say it won't help me."
In the end, that was probably the smartest move (Y/n) could have made. After all, if he said nothing, then nothing could happen to him! Well, that might not have been the case if (Y/n) didn't have at least a little luck on his side. For just as the silence between the trio began to grow once more, they were interrupted by Food Rush, who was now ready to serve them. Seeing such, the nervous (Y/n) wasted no time whatsoever to quickly turn his back to the two women and race off towards the front counter where he put all his blessings into the food-serving hero.
Though, this would only keep him safe for so long. Such was easy to tell. Thankfully, nothing much did end up happening after this. Once (Y/n) got his food and turned around, neither Midnight or Mirko even bothered to get food. They just glared at (Y/n), then at each other, and then walked away. So going off basic girl math...(Y/n) was fucked. But at least he had food! Well, that's what he tried to say to himself as he ended up walking away in silence, though, he had a good feeling that one way or another his life would end up in the shitty corner yet again.
So in order to hopefully make that turn of life less shitty, (Y/n) decided he'd begin to try and make things better for himself. The first of which was making up his friendship with Bakugo, and with a vast foray of tables before him, (Y/n) took off in search of his good buddy...Who he kinda hoped could help him in this moment of uncertainty involving two older women. Whether he'd be any help at all, though, was unknown. Nevertheless, he wanted to try his luck. But what (Y/n) didn't know, however, was that whilst a conflict of the male gender was going on between them.
There was also a conflict of the female gender as well. One that didn't involve a muscular rabbit girl and a living dream of the hot school teacher who's into you sexual style. Of course, this female conflict at hand also involved a few familiar faces, though these faces were mostly present from Class 1-A. Those, of course, were none other than Uraraka, Hagakure, and Uraraka, who could currently be sitting at a table of their own eating lunch. But the plates of food before them remained uneaten, as a certain subject seemed far more important than eating right now.
Hagakure: "So?! So?! Did you talk to him?! Did you talk to Bakugo if he knew?! Did you?! Did you?!"
Yaoyorozu: "Hagakure, please, calm down. We should do our best to not stress Uraraka out right now. After all, we owe her for this."
Hagakure: "Huh? Oh...Right." [Turns to Uraraka] "Sorry, girl. I'm just a little anxious is all. I mean, you're dating (Y/n) already, and Yaoyorozu's gone on a date, so I--"
Yaoyorozu: [Blushes] "Date?! I didn't g-go on a date with (Y/n)!"
Hagakure: "What? But you went to the theatre together?"
Yaoyorozu: [Blushes Further] "Y-Yes, but...That was with my parents...and it was just because (Y/n) protected me from Kiato! ...It wasn't a date."
Hagakure: "Yeah. Yeah. Whatever. All I'm hearing is you got to spend time with (Y/n) as well. I didn't! And I've been crushing HARD on him since I remembered we knew each other as kids, okay? So give a girl some slack--" [Immediately turns to Uraraka] "--So?! So?! Did you talk to him?! Did you talk to Bakugo if he knew?! Did you?! Did you?!"
Uraraka: "Um...About that..."
It was across from the table that Uraraka could be seen offering a hesitant laugh as she scratched the back of her head. This seemed to be enough to both girls on the other side that Uraraka had indeed...not...talked to Bakugo.
Hagakure: "You didn't talk to him, did you?"
Yaoyorozu: "Are you okay?"
Uraraka: [Waves Hands About] "No! No! I'm fine! Really! A-And trust me, I did try to talk to Bakugo. I tried to during the first class, but I was a little...distracted..."
Again, Uraraka could only offer a hesitant laugh. Again, Hagakure got straight to the point.
Hagakure: "You were worried Mirko was going to steal your boyfriend, huh?"
Yaoyorozu: "Are you okay?"
Uraraka: "Um...I think so? I mean, (Y/n) and I talked about it, a-and I know he wouldn't do anything. It's just..."
Hagakure: "...You're not sure Miss Mirko will not nothing, huh?"
Uraraka: "...Yeah."
Yaoyorozu: [Smiles Softly] "Look, Uraraka, I'm sure everything will be fine. Mirko is a woman, let alone a teacher, I don't think she'd be trying to get in, um...a relationship with a student."
Uraraka: "If that was any other teacher, I'd believe you...Well, besides Midnight. I'm still not entirely sure about what's her deal with (Y/n)..." [Shakes Head] "The point is, unlike any other teacher, Mirko has actually told (Y/n) she liked him! And Mirko's, like, really pretty! Plus...She has other things that boys like."
Yaoyorozu: "Other things? Like what?"
Uraraka: "Like...Um..." [Blushes] "...Like, um..."
Hagakure: [Grins] "...Like big boobs and muscular thighs~"
Although the girl was invisible, her mischievous grin could be felt through the air. Enough that both Yaoyorozu and Uraraka turned to their friend in embarrassment and slight concern. Something Hagakure picked up on instantly.
Hagakure: "...What? I have older brothers. It's a curse to know what guys are into."
Yaoyorozu: "Yes, but...I don't think hearing those things will necessarily help Uraraka right now."
Hagakure: "Oh..." [Turns to Uraraka] "Sorry, girl."
Yet again, hesitant laughter was all that filled the young girl's void as she now struggled with a new wave of potential fears to deal with. In the end, the only thing that seemed to be able to help was having Uraraks drop her head onto the table before her. A silent echo of a thud formed from collision instantly entering the air, altering the girls before her to look to one another. Seeing Uraraka struggle was something they were not happy to see, and made them question everything that had led to this point.
Uraraka: [Groans] "I don't know what to do!!!"
Yaoyorozu: "Um...Uraraka?"
Uraraka: [Slowly Lifts Head] "...Huh?"
Upon lifting her head, Uraraka was greeted by a facial expression from Yaoyorozu that showcased great grief and regret. Just seeing this was enough to make the girl forget about her problems momentarily to focus on the one in front of her.
Yaoyorozu: "Look...Hagakure and I greatly appreciate the lengths you are going through to try and get (Y/n) to also date us. But if it's putting too much stress on you, we've decided that we're okay if we just remain friends with him."
Uraraka: "Wh-What? Really?"
Hagakure: "Yeah. I mean, (Y/n)'s hot...and totally my type. But I'd be happy to just be friends with him if it meant the friend in front of me right now was happy as well."
Yaoyorozu: "And I'll be honest. When I first saw you dating (Y/n), I was jealous. (Y/n) did a lot for me when he didn't have to, and I grew feelings out of seeing him do such things. But when I found out you liked him as well, I didn't know what to do. I didn't think we could end up beings friends...But after us working together in the Sports Festival, I've had so much fun getting closer with you."
Hagakure: "Me too!"
Yaoyorozu: "So...We've decided that maybe it's best that you just remain with (Y/n) yourself. And we'll be more than glad to support you!"
It was fair to say that Uraraka was shocked by what she was hearing. She knew full well the lengths both Hagakure and Yaoyorozu had gone to reach this moment. But to hear them say they'd back out of it just so Uraraka could be less stressed and happy...It truly shocked her. You see, throughout her life, Uraraka had had friends. But none truly felt like the friendship she had right now. Just seeing the smile on Yaoyorozu's face...and the smile she imagined Hagakure had, just further showed something to the young brunette. And it was with this realization that she gave her response.
Uraraka: "...No."
Yaoyorozu: [Smiles] "No. No. It's fine. Really. We under--Wait...What?"
Hagakure: "Did you just say...No?"
Uraraka: "Yes."
Hagakure: "Wait. Yes? Or no?"
Uraraka: "Yes."
Yaoyorozu: "So...You do want us to let you just be with (Y/n) yourself?"
Uraraka: "No."
Yaoyorozu: "No?"
Hagakure: "Girl, this is confusing! Can we get with (Y/n) or what?!"
Any response from Uraraka was abruptly cut off by Hagakure's sentence, which came just as the invisible girl planted her hands on the table before her and leaned over it. Upon realizing all of this a few seconds later, another wave of silence surrounded the area before she eventually returned to her seat and let the stunned Uraraka to finally continue.
Uraraka: "Look! What I'm trying to say is, I appreciate you guys wanting to go that far for me. But kindly...No. I want you guys to be happy as well."
Yaoyorozu: "But...Isn't all of this just stressing you out?"
Uraraka: "I mean, not really. That's just me dealing with a lot of things. I just need to get my act together and confront those things one at the time..." [Grins] "And I know the perfect one to deal with first."
Hagakure: "And that is...?"
Both Hagakure and Yaoyorozu just simply stared at their friend before them, unsure of what answer they'd receive. But whatever one they did get was left unknown for a while longer. However, it was as all of this went down, that from a empty table not too far away from their current location, Akiko could be seen eating her food alone. But just like the girls from her class, she had yet to touch even a single piece. All she could do was unintentionally focus in on the conversation that was just spoken. Once she had processed it all she was left to contemplate one thing and one thing alone.
Akiko: "...(Y/n)'s really this popular now? How?"
Whatever outcome Akiko conjured up was left unknown. Thankfully, for the questions remaining with Yaoyorozu and Hagakure from before, it wouldn't be too long before it Uraraka's goal was revealed, and it eventually came about when somewhere else in the cafeteria, Bakugo could be seen sitting at a table by himself. It was at this table that the young blonde could be seen doing something completely terrifying...
...He was doing homework!!! But the task in which he was currently preoccupied with was almost instantly shoved out of his mind when he felt the presence of someone take the seat right across from him. Yet, what was funny was that he didn't even need to lift his head to tell who it was. Bakugo just continued writing in his notebook as he greeted the person before him.
Bakugo: "Hey, O-Choco, what's up?"
The startled sound of a female came almost instantly. Following this, it was indeed revealed that the person Bakugo was talking to was none other than the brunette herself. Who found herself surprised that Bakugo knew it was her who had sat down.
Uraraka: "Wait! You knew it was me? How?"
Bakugo: "I've known for the whole day you've been wanting to speak to me."
Uraraka: "What? You did? How?"
Bakugo: "Because I told you earlier I knew why you were fine with Mirko kissing (Y/n). Of course that was going to set you off enough to get questions popping into your head."
Uraraka: "Okay, well, I get that but--Wait...Are you doing Homework?"
Bakugo: "Uhhhh, huh. Why? That weird?"
Uraraka: "No! No! ...Well, um, actually...Yeah."
Bakugo: "Yeah, well, I don't really have much else to do seeing as (Y/n) hasn't come to his senses yet." [Looks up at Uraraka] "Not that I'm really giving him the chance to speak to me. I mean, I've been to four different tables in this cafeteria just today alone because he's almost spotted me."
Uraraka: "You're trying to avoid him?"
Bakugo: "Not really. Just making my point clear."
Upon hearing this, Uraraka couldn't help but chuckle.
Uraraka: "Haha! Maybe out of everyone here you're more of (Y/n)'s girlfriend than even me? You sure act like one."
Bakugo: "Huh? What are you talking about? I don't see (Y/n) like that. We're just bro's. Besides, I don't have socks on today."
Uraraka: "...Socks? What do they have to do with it?"
Bakugo: [Chuckles] "Oh, O-choco, O-choco, you really are an innocent bunny rabbit, huh?"
Uraraka: [Mutters to herself] "...Bunny rabbit? What's he--" [Shakes Head] "Look! I've been needing to speak to you because--"
Bakugo: "Because you're worried I'll tell (Y/n) that you plan to use the whole 'Hot Rabbit Waifu with Thunder Thighs' thing so he ends up dating Rich Girl and Casper the Ghost, right?"
Uraraka didn't know what to focus on first. The first that Bakugo's statement was so wrong as it was right; or that he said all of it in one fluid motion as if it came naturally to him. It was as the brunette processed this that Bakugo just continued to stare at her, eventually leading Uraraka to just shake all thoughts from her mind and just focus on the present problem.
Uraraka: "...H-How'd you know what I was planning?"
Bakugo: "Please. It's obvious. I mean, no normal girl would be okay with another girl kissing their guy. So after everything, you're either scared that if you confront Mirko...she'll kill you."
Uraraka: [Chuckles Nervously] "I-I don't think she'd kill me..."
Bakugo: "...Or you're going to use it to your advantage. And seeing how you've been hanging out with the lovestruck duo all day, my mind leads me to the second option."
Again, another wave of shock sprung onto Uraraka like a drunk girl on prom night. But even with the shock...She couldn't help but also find some respect in the moment.
Uraraka: "Wow, Bakugo. You're...You're actually pretty smart, huh?"
Bakugo: "Eh. When it comes to things I'm interested in, yeah."
Uraraka: "Speaking of which, I've been wondering for a while now... Why are you so interested in getting (Y/n) with so many girls? Like, shouldn't you be focused on yourself in that regard? Don't you want a girlfriend?"
Bakugo: "...Meh. I guess. But there's not many girls I see myself with. As for why I want to get so many girls with (Y/n), well...I don't normally tell people this. But I do it because--"
Bang!
It was just as Bakugo was about to reveal one of his biggest secrets that out of nowhere a stray, yet somewhat deliberate, elbow came out of nowhere and collided with the back of the scruffy blonde's head. Immediately, anger fueled Bakugo's face, as he and Uraraka turned toward the cause. But upon seeing the cause, the anger on Bakugo's face only grew when the person behind the bump was revealed to be...
Bakugo: "Hey, watch it! Momma's Boy!!"
(???): "Huh?"
Uraraka: [Leans over to Bakugo; Whispers] "His name's Monoma, Bakugo."
Bakugo: [Glares at Monoma] "...I know. I also know what he did to (Y/n) during the sports festival. So just like rats in laboratories, he doesn't deserve a name. Because, you know..." [Grins] "It's rather pathetic to call creatures that are about to die by names~"
A confident snicker was quick to follow Bakugo's words as he continued to stare into the eyes of the blonde standing before him. That person, of course, was none other than the boy with the copying Quirk from Class 1-B, Monoma. And going off his own reaction, he wasn't too happy with what he had just heard. Though, all it took was a few seconds before he regathered his own confident grin.
Monoma: "Yes. Yes. Call me whatever you want, sheep. But it's a good thing to bring up your little boyfriend, (Y/n)."
Bakugo: [Glares] "What about him?"
Uraraka: [Thoughts] "He didn't deny the boyfriend thing?"
Monoma: [Grins at Bakugo] "Oh, nothing much. I just heard he ran into the Hero Killer is all."
Bakugo: "Run into him? Ha! My boy didn't just do that, he outright--Mrgh! Mrgh! Mrgh?"
The once confident face quickly turned to confusion when Bakugo found the words being blocked from exiting his mouth. Luckily for him, it didn't take long to realize the cause of this was none other than Uraraka, who could be seen covering his mouth with her hand.
Bakugo: [To Uraraka] "MMRRGGHH?!?!"
Uraraka: [Whispers] "Sorry, Bakugo. But remember what the police said, we can't tell people it was (Y/n) who fought Stain."
Bakugo: "Mrgh?"
Uraraka: "Yes, really."
Monoma: [Confused] "What the hell are you guys doing?"
Uraraka: [Turns to Monoma] "Huh? What? O-Oh...Nothing! Just that, um...You're correct! (Y/n) did come across the hero killer. Isn't that right, Bakugo?"
Bakugo: "MRGH! MRGH! MRRRGGGHHH!!!!"
Uraraka: [Chuckles Nervously] "See? He agrees."
The not-so-confident response from Uraraka only got a simple raised eyebrow from Monoma. Though, that was mostly brought on because Bakugo was now shaking his head around in desperation to free himself from the hand that covered his mouth. Before too long, Monoma managed to regain his smirk. And he was about to say something Uraraka was sure to be annoyed by, but before he could say a single word...
Chop!
A karate chop strike to the head was all that was needed in the end to silence Monoma. The blonde-haired boy quickly dropping to his knees from the daze brought on by the sudden attack. It was as this happened that both Uraraka and Bakugo turned to see that Itsuka Kendo of Class 1-B had done so. The ginger-haired girl, who had interned under the same hero as Yaoyorozu, was quick to offer her fallen classmate a glare, all before turning back to the duo from Class 1-A with a smile.
Kendo: "Hey, guys! Sorry about Monoma, he's still being a sore loser after the Sports Festival." [Awkwardly Chuckles] "I mean...You know boys, right?"
Uraraka was quick to join Kendo in a smile and laugh.
Uraraka: "Haha! Totally!"
Bakugo on the other hand... Well, he just continued to glare at Kendo with his narrowed gaze.
Bakugo: [Glares] "...Not all boys are like that."
Kendo: [Grows Nervous] "O-Oh. Of course! I didn't mean to say anything like that to you guys! I-I was just, um..." [Shakes Head; Smiles softly] "Anyway...I didn't just come over here to stop Monoma from annoying you. I also wanted to ask if (Y/n) was okay?"
Uraraka: "(Y/n)?"
Bakugo: [Narrows Gaze] "What do you want to know about my boy for?" [Narrows Gaze] "You got a crush on him? Because he's fully booked!"
Kendo: [Doesn't Blush] "No. No. Really! I just heard that he got attacked by the Hero Killer and ended up in hospital. I haven't seen him around to ask if he was okay, so I thought I'd ask you guys?"
It was clear by Bakugo's gaze that he wasn't buying anything Kendo was saying...Or most likely, he was still angry at her after everything during the Sports Festival. As for Uraraka, she was quick to understand and quickly told the girl that (Y/n) was all right and everything that happened. Well, minus the whole 'comeback story' where he trained himself to a point where he could now use One For All in a way to defeat the Hero Killer. But in the end, it seemed enough for Kendo. About a minute more of talking followed between the two girls before Kendo proceeded to grab the back of Monoma's school uniform and began dragging him away. It was as this happened that Bakugo finally dropped his gaze, returning to his homework, when Uraraka abruptly turned to him.
Uraraka: "What the hell was that?"
Bakugo: "I know, right. Girl clearly has a crush on my boy and can't admit it."
Uraraka: "No! Not that! Why were you being so mean to her?"
Bakugo: "Mean?! You call that mean?! I was standing up for (Y/n)!"
Uraraka: "Why? What did Kendo do to (Y/n)?"
Bakugo: "Exactly. What did she do?"
The notion of that sentence left Uraraka confused. But Bakugo, he knew full well where he was headed with his sentence. It was from this point on that Bakugo explained everything to Uraraka. About how he was still annoyed with Kendo, who was supposedly the class rep of 1-B, yet, during the Sports Festival when Monoma brought up stuff about Izuku's death to (Y/n) and the rest of his team during the Calvary Game, she did nothing to stop him. As soon as Uraraka heard that, she was stunned. She didn't dislike Kendo all of a sudden, but now that she heard where Bakugo was coming from, she understood why he was upset.
Him and (Y/n) truly were close. Even if Uraraka was (Y/n)'s girlfriend, Bakugo was that friend that had always been there for him, and would continue to be there for the rest of their lives. So with all of this coming into play, Uraraka was left in the centre of a crossroads within her mind. She didn't know what to say or do in the moment. It was because of this blank out that before she knew it, Bakugo had gotten to his feet and went to leave. But just before he walked away completely, he stopped in his tracks and turned back around to look at the brunette.
Bakugo: "Oh...And about your whole idea about using the Mirko thing against (Y/n) to get with the others...Don't do it. You care about (Y/n), right?"
Uraraka: "Yeah...?"
Bakugo: "Then don't hold something against him. He already has a lot of that in his life. He doesn't need people he cares about doing that to him."
And so with that, Bakugo took his leave. The words were soft, yet the impact they left behind was most definitely felt by Uraraka. To the point, for a good five minutes following this moment, the young girl was left to contemplate everything that had been heard...and the emotions that hearing them brought up. But if one thing was most clear out of everything, the original plan she had in mind to try and make everyone happy was no longer in effect. All she could do now was question just what she should do...and if there was even a chance anymore to make things work out like she intended...
--A Few Days Later--
From that day on, the rest of the week days went by rather quickly. It was during this time that Uraraka continued to think over what Bakugo had said; Bakugo himself continued to make the notion of his annoyance towards the betrayal (Y/n) gave him clear; and Kirishima still struggled with the lonely feeling he felt whenever he heard more about the boys group chat he wasn't in. But out of everyone in this entire school, the person who suffered the most during these days...was (Y/n). Which is kinda weird, seeing as not many would class the idea of two hot older women chasing after you as something that was considered to make people suffer. Nevertheless...Here we were. In the days that followed, there were countless situations that (Y/n) was put through that also involved the familiar faces of Mirko and Midnight.
Now, after how everything ended in the cafeteria the other day, you'd presume both women would be rather, well...annoyed that (Y/n) didn't mention the other to them. Which was kinda the vibe (Y/n) got at first, but for most of it, Mirko and Midnight were actually rather nice. Well, as nice as Mirko could be, whilst Midnight was just the usual Midnight. However, what was different was the noticeable way the girls felt like they were in a competition against an unknown force. That is, an unknown force that remained that way to everyone but (Y/n). He knew full well what they were doing. They were trying to get to see which one he 'liked' more. But what (Y/n) didn't know was the full length of the word 'competition' that was thrown into the mix had a whole other meaning to it.
Whereas (Y/n) only knew about what had taken place in the cafeteria, what he didn't know came later that afternoon, when both parties consisting of Midnight and Mirko showed up in a desolate hallway somewhere within the school grounds of U.A. High. The afternoon sky that cast its perfect orange colour onto the world below perfectly showcased the two figures of women that stood across from each other in this narrowed space. And although no words were spoken at first, it was clear what they were thinking. It was from this moment on the pair had come to understand that no matter what they felt for (Y/n), whether they fully understood it or not, there was now something blocking their path.
For Mirko, it was due to her newfound realization that she would never met a person like (Y/n) again, that she found herself feeling blocked from reaching him by this much older woman from U.A. who used every waking moment when around him to try and seduce him. For Midnight, she didn't exactly know what she felt for (Y/n). On one side, in the start, he was just another young man she could playfully tease and make blush. But when she realized he was more tough in that regard compared to others his age, he immediately caught her attention. From that point on she thought of him more often, and as was with anyone you tended to do that with, she felt she was becoming to understand (Y/n) a whole lot more as a person. Sure, on the outside he seemed to be the total brooding bad boy that most girls were attracted to, but he was also so much more.
He cared about the people he was close to. He'd never give up in a fight. He was determined and without fear most of the time; and even when he had fear, he'd find a way to get through it. All so he could protect those around him. But what really hooked Midnight in on his character...was how much he cared for his Mother. Something she only learned about after meeting Inko Midoriya in the hospital where (Y/n) was staying in. Midnight was still shocked out much revelation she got out of that situation. One which she originally intended to use as a matter to finally get (Y/n) to break his stoic character so she could move on to other youthful prey. But Midnight was soon left shocked about just who (Y/n) Midoriya was as a person. And since that point, she didn't know what to think or do about the boy.
But when she saw how Mirko was acting with him, like...like how an authoritative girlfriend would...it just didn't sit right with the teacher of U.A. High. At first, she thought it was annoyance that he could crumble when Mirko got close and spoke to him like that, when he wouldn't for Midnight. But the more it went on, the more Midnight realized... Maybe she liked (Y/n). Like, actually liked him. But she wouldn't feel that way, right? She was just teasing him! She teased every guy! Then...Why did she find herself in this hallway facing off against Mirko? To this day, she still doesn't know the answer to that question.
What she did know, however, was that she couldn't just let Mirko get with him without her intervening. After all, Midnight was certain Mirko wasn't the right type for (Y/n). Besides, Midnight was (Y/n)'s favourite hero when he was a kid. If he wanted to be with someone, it wouldn't be with some muscular furry like Mirko. It'd be with a proper woman like her! It was with this accountability into the relationship status of (Y/n) that Midnight knew she couldn't just rest at this moment. And Mirko most definitely wouldn't do the same. But it's from this newfound beef between the two female teachers of U.A., that led their actions to impact with (Y/n)'s life. You see, once the terms were set, both teachers immediately went about making sure (Y/n) noticed them and not the other.
Mirko, of course, went about doing it in a different method to Midnight. Mirko was much tougher with (Y/n), believing that the way she could show her superiority over Midnight was by showing (Y/n) how strong she was, and how much better of a fighter she was. Plus, also showing how great her muscles were. Mirko knew (Y/n) loved her muscles. Who wouldn't?! So with every class that he was in that Mirko was teaching, the Rabbit Hero made sure not to go easy on any student that faced her in intensive training. Whether that meant kicking Kaminari in the face with her incredible leg muscles; punching Sato in the chest with her incredible arm muscles; or kicking Mineta across the face with her amazing foot muscles.
No matter what it was, Mirko was making sure to put her greatest PG-13 feature on display so (Y/n) would notice her, and not think about Midnight. Though, of course, this was (Y/n) we were talking about. Not only could he be less than bothered with these two women right now. But he was also desperately making sure Uraraka knew he only cared about her. Which only added to Uraraka's worries about pleasing Yaoyorozu and Hagakure. So it was fair to say the lives of the students from Class 1-A was hell as of the last week. Whether that be from getting kicked by Mirko, having to deal with getting your boyfriend to date other girls; or said boyfriend having to deal with the fact other girls wanted to date him. It was definitely chaotic to say the least.
And things didn't seem to be getting better in the present time as well. Oh! But before we get to that, it's probably best to explain that whilst Mirko thought showing her dominance was good for (Y/n)...You know, to show she wasn't to be messed with when her emotions were involved in such matters as they were currently. Midnight basically did what she normally did...But take it up to like a seven or eight, which, honestly, was still really up there! It most definitely would make people wonder what Midnight at a Nine or Ten in level scaling would be like. Either way, with both women acting like this, (Y/n)'s hopes of getting through a normal week of school were quickly starting to crumble.
--Friday | Center Plaza--
[Your POV]
Midnight: And then another three businessmen saw me walking into work today and asked me for my number. But I told them 'no', because unlike other girls that try to make a guy jealous. I wanted to be mature and understand you wouldn't like it seeing me with another man. Would you, (Y/n)?"
(Y/n): [Tiredly] "...If they were asking you out, they should have asked you for lunch..." [Mumbles] "At least then I wouldn't have to worry about you now..."
If my voice alone wasn't enough to showcase how sick and tired of everything I was, the look of death on my face should have most definitely given away such. The mixture of wanting to both crave and regret death in this moment was uncanny. All the while it was made worse by the fact that Midnight decided to not only stand close to me as we walked towards the Center Plaza ahead of us, but that she also made sure to basically hold my arm as we did so. You see, the last few days outside of normal classes, was also the time when U.A. held their performance exams for what we had achieved and studied for in our time at the school so far.
Everything up to now was all written tests that were held in class, but today, it was the practical exams. This meant that everyone who passed the written exams was brought out of school grounds to meet at the Center Plaza just outside of the city to participate in the practical exams that was basically you, the student, going up against a certain teacher to show to the Principal and every other Boardman for U.A. just how you're improving at school. Not really much to be concerned about, especially for me. I mean, not to brag, but I do pretty good in studies, and everything physical with being a hero I'm pretty much always at the top.
But after everything that's gone on in the past few days, being out of the school with both students and teachers alike, a secret female teacher took this as her opportunity to make her appearance known. This person, of course, was none other than Midnight, who right now was practically clinging to my right arm, giggling and smiling as she told me how men tried to ask her for her number and things along those lines. You know, stuff I couldn't really care about. But for whatever reason, Midnight thought the exact opposite. And whenever I'd tried to showcase such wasn't the case, she'd just laugh it off...Like right now.
Midnight: [Chuckles] "Haha! Oh, (Y/n)! You're so silly! Of course, I would never even think of going for another guy. I know how close we are!"
(Y/n): [Mutters] "We're really not that close..."
Midnight: "Oh, of course, we are! Besides, I'd never go for a businessman of all people! They're just so boring and plain..." [Grins] "I'd much rather go for someone young and...naughty~"
When Midnight said those exact words, she, by no surprise, made sure to meet my gaze. Of course, my gaze in the moment was nothing but a blank void that could barely comprehend what was going on as I was beyond tired. I mean, not only did I have written exams that drove me crazy, but two grown women as well! Speaking of which, it was about thirty seconds now...So, of course, it had already been too long with the other grown women to interject into the conversation at hand.
"Well, if you're looking for someone 'naughty', maybe you should go to a prison? I mean...You probably should already be there if you ask me."
(Y/n): "Ah. Here we go aga--"
Midnight: [Looks past you] "What the hell is THAT supposed to mean?"
Without hesitation, the cause for the sudden violent nature in the words of Midnight stepped closer to reveal, by no surprise, Mirko, who now had her own grin embedded across her lips as she stared directly at the teacher opposite her. All the while, just like in the cafeteria a few days ago...I was unfortunately stuck in the middle.
Mirko: [Smiles Innocently] "Oh, I didn't mean anything bad by it."
Midnight: "And why do I struggle to believe that?"
Mirko: "Well...There could be plenty of answers to that question. After all, I'm sure this isn't the only thing you struggle with." [Smiles once more] "Like perhaps getting the attention of people?"
The smile on Mirko's face was clearly her trying to forgo and innocent expression. Though everyone knew it was anything but...Not that I really cared about it. But Midnight most certainly did going off how her glare tightened on the rabbit hero.
Mirko: "But if you want a more literal explanation, I was more so referring to how not only do you wear quite...revealing choices of clothing, which alone can end you up in jail. But also the fact you're currently holding the arm of an eighteen-year-old boy."
Midnight: "Okay, first off, I have to wear this clothing because of my Quirk!" [Narrows Gaze] "And I think you know that. And secondly! You said it yourself, he's eighteen! That's legal age!"
Mirko: [Grins] "Legal for what, exactly~"
Midnight: [Blushes] "...F-For...For whatever! Argh! I don't know! Shut up!"
See! It was conversations like this that sent things from a five to an eleven very quickly! If I wasn't already somewhat used to the embarrassment of such going down in a public space surrounded by my fellow classmates, I would have probably gone to meet up with Izuku a little earlier than planned.
Midnight: "Besides! Don't act like you're any better than me! I know you like (Y/n)! Or, what? You going to deny that?"
Mirko: "No. Why would I deny that? I've already made it known to (Y/n) how I feel about him."
(Y/n): "Can you guys not speak about me like I'm not here, please?"
Midnight: [Ignores You] "Well then, if that's the case, I see why you have no reason to complain about me."
Mirko: [Also Ignore You] "Well, that's simple. I am much closer to (Y/n)'s own age. Whilst you're just, well...Old."
Midnight: "OLD?! I'M NOT OLD! I'm...Young!"
Mirko: "Depending on who you ask, sure. But I would still consider being three decades older than the guy you like old."
Midnight: "I AM NOT THREE DECADES OLDER THAN HIM! I'm Thirty! Only four years older than you!"
Mirko: "Oh..." [Looks Midnight Up and Down] "...You are?"
By this point, it seemed like the whole scene was about to get out of control. But then, luckily for me, Eraserhead out of all people came to my rescue.
Aizawa: "...You guys do realize we're in public, right?"
Midnight: "Huh?"
Mirko: "Hmm?"
Turning in the direction of the voice, not only were the girls greeted by Aizawa's tired face, but also the familiar faces of Thirteen; Present Mic; Cementoss; Ectoplasm; Snipe and other hero teachers of the first years. Yet even with all these perplexed faces resting presently before their eyes, both Mirko and Midnight seemed to still be somewhat focused on themselves. In the end, it came about that Midnight begrudgingly let go of my arm and went to join the side of the teachers, shortly after, Mirko did the same. But even with the pair choosing to stand right next to each other, both made sure to look in the opposite direction as they crossed their arms over their chests.
(Y/n): [Sighs] "...Can my life get any worse?"
"Hmph!"
(Y/n): "Huh?"
It was soon shown that my life could indeed get worse. Upon lifting my head, I was greeted by the sight of Bakugo also having his arms crossed whilst looking in the opposite direction.
(Y/n): "Um...Hey, Bakugo? What's up?"
Bakugo: [Turns away again] "Hmph! I'm still not talking to you!"
Our eyes really only met for a moment before he looked away, but even when he did that, I didn't tried to capture his attention for even a moment. I simply just dropped my head with a sigh and expected it to remain that way. At least, until I felt the gentle embrace of a hand cupping my own, followed by the one voice I knew I could rely on in the moment.
Uraraka: "Don't worry about him, (Y/n). He'll come around eventually, I'm sure of it!"
(Y/n): [Tiredly Chuckles] "Yeah, I know. It's everyone else I'm unsure about..."
My words could only enlist a tilted head from Uraraka as a response. Before she could say anything else, she was suddenly cut off by the voice of Aizawa.
Aizawa: "Alright. Now that we've arrived at the Center Plaza, we will begin the practical exam to complete this week's testing period. Of course, before we do start, please be aware that it is possible to fail this exam. As some of you may now, passing this exam will allow you all to go to the training camp in a few weeks. A place where you will be able to further your skills on becoming a future hero."
"And the prove your worth, we have quite the test for this practical exam!"
The voice that seemingly sprung out of nowhere was instantly recognizable. After all, the high pitch and soft undertone came with only one person...or in this case animal. Of course, the animal in question was none other than U.A.'s principal, Nezu. Though, his whereabouts were unknown. It caused everyone to look around in confusion, trying to spot where the voice came from.
However, it was soon shown that such wasn't needed... Mainly because Nezu decided to reveal his location himself. And what better way than suddenly popping out from underneath the bandages wrapped around Aizawa's neck! It was in this spot the humanoid rat could now be seen, standing on Aizawa's shoulder and using his paw to shove the teacher's head out of the way so he could properly speak.
Nezu: "Today all of you students will be splitting up into teams of two! Once you have your groups, they will then be going up against one teacher! Now then...Time for the teams to be chosen!!!"
And just like that we were all put on our feet. Sure, we had a basic idea of what was going down. But now that we were actually right in the thick of it, it was kinda hard to latch onto just how we were going to handle it. Especially now that we also came to understand that the teachers themselves would be choosing the teams, and by the time those results came to be everyone seemed rather...Mixed. Now, there were certain duos who were seemingly destined for victory, or at least a high likelihood of such.
People like Yaoyorozu and Todoroki who were placed onto a team for one. They were positioned to go up against Aizawa. Then there other uncertain ones, like Sato and Kirishima against Cementoss; Kaminari and Ashido against Nezu; Uraraka and Aoyama against Thirteen. Iida and Shoji against Power Loader. Mineta and Sero against Midnight. And plenty more. But one that caused the most fuss...was Akiko and Bakugo against Mirko.
Bakugo: "What?! No way! Nuh, uh! Not doing this!"
Mirko: "I'm with the firecracker. I can't do this."
Aizawa: "What not?"
Bakugo: "I'm not being on a team with her."
He said as he pointed to Akiko.
Mirko: "And I'm not--No. I can't go up against these two. They're not..." [Drops Bunny Ears] "...It won't be the same."
It was fair to say that everyone was immediately thrown off by the reactions of both Mirko and Bakugo, all for different reasons. Of course, out of this came some responses. Aizawa was obviously not pleased that Bakugo didn't want to be on a team with his niece, no matter the reasons, and Midnight was quick to chuckle under her breath upon seeing Mirko defeated. Though, she, too, had it no better after realizing who she was going up against. But out of everything, there was still one more thing that needed to be brought to the teacher's attention.
