𝙞𝙞. Blooming Friendship

I inhaled deeply, the wild air caressing my scales as I felt a profound sense of contentment. It was exhilarating to simply exist within the untamed expanse, allowing the flaming embers of my breath to dance freely amidst the emerald foliage. Yet, amidst this primal euphoria, I couldn't shake the pang of longing for Toothless. It's quite the peculiarity, isn't it? A creature of the skies, once a wild spirit, now yearning for the companionship of a creature bound by the confines of domestication.

My musings were abruptly interrupted by the rustling of leaves in the thicket. Glancing up, I beheld a spectacle that brought a warm smile to my fiery countenance—Toothless, my dearest friend, charging towards me with the unbridled enthusiasm that only a dragon could muster. "Where is Hiccup?" I inquired as he skidded to a halt, his scales glinting with the residue of our last adventure. I observed with a touch of surprise that his back was unadorned by the usual saddle, a stark reminder of our newfound unity with nature.

Toothless emitted a joyful purr. "He released me to search for your majestic presence," he shared, "his concern for my safety rising with the tension in the human village. It seems his sire isn't thrilled with our bond." I nodded sagely, the fire of understanding flickering in my gaze. "Ah, so his father is a stoic creature?" Toothless tilted his head quizzically. "How could you possibly divine that, oh wielder of the skies?" I replied with a knowing smile, "I've had my fair share of aerial surveillance, observing their interactions from afar." Then, with a regal flick, I lowered my noble head and unfurled my wings. "Yet, curiously, they've remained oblivious to your graceful form?" Toothless questioned, inching closer with a blend of friendship and respect. Our hearts were intertwined, but the fear of discovery kept us from becoming inseparable.

I casually dismissed the thought with a wing twitch. "Who can say? Humans are quite... unenlightened, aren't they?" Toothless exhaled a small burst of smoke in agreement, his snout quivering with amusement. "Tell me about it," he said, his voice rumbling like distant thunder. "Remember when Hiccup attempted to feed me eel?" A shiver of revulsion rippled down his scales. "It was like the second sunrise we spent together."

I couldn't help but smirk, the corners of my mouth curling upwards. "Oh, really?" I mused, arching an eyebrow. "Because, you know, there are dragons out there who actually crave those slithery creatures."

Toothless's eyes narrowed into fiery slits, and he fixed me with a look that could've melted steel. "Those... those are the dragons we don't invite to our hoard parties," he declared with a snort of disdain. "Total barbarians."

I couldn't contain my mirth and nestled cozily beside him, my tail swishing with delight. Toothless edged closer, his emerald gaze flickering with uncertainty. His wing whispered against my midriff, a tender touch that made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. "Psst, buddy," I rumbled, "You can totally lay your claws on me. We're tighter than a dragon's grip on its hoard, remember?" His scales rippled a shy shade of scarlet against the inky night of his hide. "If it's cool with you, then," he murmured, his voice a gentle rustle of leaves in the dragon breeze. "Course it is!" I exclaimed, flashing a smile so bright it could've lit up the darkest dragon lair.

With a powerful inhale, he nestled into the embrace of my scales, his spinal ridge arching gracefully to align with the contours of my form. The fiery warmth of his cheek pressed against my chest as I tenderly placed a nuzzle upon his crown. He tensed, and I couldn't help but emit a rumbling chuckle that resonated through the cavern.

"Relax, my brave warrior. In my presence, there is no need for such timidity," I cooed, my forked tongue flicking gently against his scalp.

Enveloping him with the mighty span of my wing, I lowered my head to rest upon the soft cushion of the dragonstone beneath us. Our eyes, gleaming with the light of a thousand fiery sunsets, grew heavy with the comfort of companionship. In the sanctuary of my fiery embrace, we succumbed to the soothing symphony of his pulsing lifeblood—a rhythmic lullaby that soon had us both spiraling into the abyss of slumber.
