i scream too loud when i speak my mind

he stares.

and he stares.

he doesn't stop staring.

shock stuns him.

it freezes him to the spot just behind the wall.

gluttony can do nothing but watch as his friend gets knocked unconscious.

as his friend gets shoved into a cylinder they both designed.

and gets placed in a machine he have never seen before.

well, now you have, he thinks to himself bitterly.

he pulls out a mask from his pocket and puts it on, managing to

just before pride spots him.

(from now on, he screams too loud if he speaks his mind.)

--

"my two juniors are so clingy," envy whines one day. "i don't know why they stick to me."

indeed, slander is clinging to envy's left arm, for some reason.

gluttony doesn't pay attention.

he feels like someone has just

him

right through the chest with a spear.

you have three juniors! he wants to say. three! not two!

but he can't say anything.

so he keeps his mouth shut, and continues doing the dishes.

(because he screams too loud when he speaks his mind.)

--

he doesn't care if he screams too loud now.

the world needs to know the truth.

so he opens his mask, relishing fresh air.

and inhales.

"you're all going down with me!" he yells.

i'm sorry, temperance, addiction, he thinks.

gluttony closes his eyes.

and counts to three.

one.

two.

three.

he doesn't explode.

instead he sees temperance in all of her glory, in her angelus form.

"you are reckless," she chides.

gluttony smiles.

"that i am," he says.

he can discard the mask.

he does.

(he no longer screams too loud when he speaks his mind.)
