(y/c) knew of kaede akamatsu, and kaede akamatsu knew of them. but they didn't know each other. they weren't friends before, and they'd never spoken. but one day, in a culture class at hope's peak, kaede quickly slipped them a sticky note. 

okay is it just me or is this so confusing

once they'd unfolded it and read it, (y/c) smiled a bit, writing under kaede's line and handing it back to her, assuring her that it was definitely difficult. from that day on, they started exchanging small notes about the tiniest things in class.

hey doesn't this story remind you of that one manga that came out a year or so ago?

if this is such an important part of japanese history why have i never heard of it before

i know this is cheesy, kaede's note a month later said, but, like, you're so nice to look at. you're so (pretty/handsome).

that note certainly came as a shock to (y/c). was that really how kaede felt about them? wanting to express that they felt the same way towards her, they wrote something down, and handed it back. when kaede gave it back after another minute, there were two new lines.

you're the only fun person to talk to in this class

do you want to talk sometime? for real? get coffee or something?

again, that suggestion was surprising to them. was that... kaede asking them out? but they'd never even spoken out loud to each other. (y/c) had started to develop feelings for kaede, but... wouldn't it just be safer to keep going like this? on paper, where they both had time to think of what to say to each other? what if something went wrong?

it's almost entertaining how we're searching for the same thing
but I could never try to see it through
