"I need your help." Sydney said slowly, crossing her arms and sheepishly looking down at her feet.
Stanley puffed his cheeks out as he nodded his head slowly. "Hm.. Okay, so you're talking to me now?"
Sydney rolled her eyes, balling her hands into fists as she looked up at them, "Listen!"
"Oh, oh.. Interesting. Interesting. You want us to listen."
"Syd, what's going on?" Lavender said slowly, carefully raising her hand and taking Sydney's into hers. "We can help you."
"Stan, seriously!" Sydney persisted, pulling Lavender to her side. "You need to shut up and you both need to follow me right now."
"Oomph." Lavender let out as she tried to catch her footing after Sydney roughly pulled a long.
Sydney raised her finger, shakily pointing to the library doors, "In there."
"The library? It can't be too bad." Lavender knitted her eyebrows together, pulling her hand away from Sydney's as she stepped forward. Sydney bit her lip, glancing over at Stanley as Lavender reached forward and pushed the door open.
"Woah.." Lavender's eyes widened at the state of the now destroyed library. "Holy shit."
Sydney shifted uncomfortably as Lavender stepped over the books. "You don't have to make it such a big deal, okay?"
"Right, right.. Sorry." Lavender's voice trailed off as she leaned down and picked up a book, she read the title to herself before gently tossing the book back down.
"What.. happened here?" Stanley asked carefully, running his fingers through his hair as he trailed his eyes over the wrecked library. "I-I mean-"
"I don't wanna talk about it." Sydney snapped, cutting Stanley's sentence off short. Lavender grimaced as she watched Sydney's facial expression change.
"Why?" Stanley continued, ignoring the looks Lavender gave him, silently telling him to be quiet.
"Because I don't!" Sydney shouted, crossing her arms and glaring at the taller boy, "Okay?"
Lavender cleared her throat, narrowing her eyes at Stanley as she silently told him not to push her and further. Sydney shifted uncomfortably under the intense gazes of Stanley and Lavender. "So.. are you gonna help me or not?"
"Hey, it's okay, Syd. We'll figure this out, and I'll help you clean this whole thing up, okay? And then we can go get burgers and dye my hair."
"I mean.. We'd need a carpenter or a miracle to fix this-" Stanley trailed off with a nervous laugh, "So, if you've got either of those-"
"Yeah, I don't care about fixing it." Stanley cut him off, pulling her eyes from Lavender and slowly looking towards the security camera in the corner. Lavender followed her gaze, quiet swears leaving her lips when her eyes landed on the camera. "I care about that."
"Oh, shit." Lavender grumbled, causing Stanley to follow their gazes. A nervous look flashed across his face, but he quickly covered it as he slowly looked back to the two girls.
"So.. You're telling me, we need that footage?" Stanley trailed off, pointing to the camera. Lavender sighed, letting her head fall and her hair cover her face.
"Yeah.." Sydney trailed off, slowly nodding her head.
"That's in Dawson's office." Stanley continued, resting his hands on his hips and raising his eyebrows.
A sigh left Sydney's lips. "Yeah."
"Fuck." Lavender cursed, "This could not be harder if you tried."
"How much detention do you think they'd give us for breaking into the principal's office?" The corner of Stanley's lips curved into a smile as he watched Sydney.
"Not enough." Lavender scoffed, "We'd be in detention 'til we graduated. You got a plan?"
"Thought those were your thing." Sydney joked, caused Lavender's face to redden as she looked down towards her boots.
"I-I.. I'm gonna go get some paper." Lavender patted Sydney on the shoulder as she walked away. "One.. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six."
Sydney's heart began to ache at the sound of her counting. With a sigh, she turned to face Stanley. "She really likes you, you know."
Stanley scoffed, shaking his head. "No-No she doesn't.. She just likes to flirt."
"Yeah, with you." Sydney muttered bitterly, rolling her eyes as she focused on the room that Lavender had disappeared into. Stanley cleared his throat awkwardly, patting his knees as Lavender walked in holding a piece of paper and two pencils.
"Alright.." Lavender trailed off, moving to sit on the table. "Let's see what we've got here. Stan, if you will."
"Right, right." Stanley grinned, seating himself diagonal to her. The boy began scribbling down on the paper, making a map, Lavender assumed. Sydney watched, trying to focus on the map Stanley was drawing, but Lavender's close vicinity to her was proving to be a tad bit more distracting than she had hoped.
"Okay, so.." Stanley's voice trailed off as he looked up from the drawn map and flipped it around so that Lavender and Sydney could see. "The security recordings are in the principal's office.. here. Ugh, but it's gotta be locked!"
"Do you know how to pick a lock?" Lavender rose an eyebrow, "Because I do."
"What.. how?" Stanley stammered before Sydney rose her hand to stop him.
"It's a long story. Lav, you're not picking the lock." Sydney pointed at her. "No way."
"Well, in that case, Whitaker's probably the only one with a key, so-"
"No." Sydney interrupted him, "The janitor's gotta have one."
"Uh, okay.. Okay." Stanley nodded slowly, "Uh, just spit balling ideas here.. Maybe you can distract the janitor while I steal his keys?"
"No way." Sydney shook her head quickly. "We need someone who has.. boobs."
"Dina."
~~
"You guys had sex.. in the library?" Dina trailed off, glancing over at Lavender who held a fake panicked face. "I don't believe it."
"It's true." Sydney insisted.
Lavender nodded shakily, "I saw.. I saw it, and.. Eesh.. Right on top of the books."
"We sixty-nined and everything." Stanley continued. Lavender forced herself to shudder as she slowly shook her head.
"Uh.. Okay.. Okay, fine." Dina nodded slowly, "Lav, you're helping."
"What?" Lavender dropped her arms to the side, "No way!"
"Please?" Dina asked, tossing her sweatshirt to Sydney. Lavender groaned, looking down at her tight fitting band shirt.
"Fine." Lavender scoffed, rolling her eyes. "Fine."
Dina grinned, slipping her hand int Lavender's and pulling her along. Lavender planted her feet against the ground, stopping Dina in her tracks. "There he is."
"Just follow my lead." Dina whispered as she slowly pushed the door open. "Excuse me? Carl, is it? I was wondering if you could help me with, like, a little problem I have?"
"It would really mean a lot to us, sir." Lavender said slowly as she stretched her arms above her head.
Lavender shifted uncomfortably as the man looked in between the two girls with raised eyebrows, "Guess that depends on the problem."
Sending him a smile, Lavender folded her hand in front of her. Dina shrugged, leaning on the desk. "Um, you see.. I'm such a ditz! I think I locked both of our backpacks in sixth period by mistake, 'cause I'm such a ditz! Sorry, I already said that.. I-"
"And you see, sir, I need medication every few hours, and I don't have that.." Lavender continued as she faked being dizzy, "And I really, really need that.."
"And you want the key to that room?" The man asked, leaning on the mop. Dina nodded slowly with a flirtatious grin, "I'm not supposed to do that.."
"We wouldn't tell anyone, sir." Lavender said slowly, trying to stop herself from breaking the character she had created. "Please?"
"Do you think you can make an exception?" Dina asked, accidentally knocking the pencil off of the desk. "Sorry, I'll just-"
Dina slowly leaned down, watching the man as she picked the pencil up. The janitor let out a sigh as he rolled his eyes. "All right, stop.. Both of you, please just.. Stop."
Lavender puffed out his cheeks as she looked down at her doc martins. "Now first off, I'm married. Secondly, I'm gay."
"Shit.." Lavender cursed under her breath as she began counting in her head.
"I find your behavior to be a little bit offensive, and not just to me. To both of you." The man's voice began to soften towards the end of the sentence.
"Yeah, ri- You're right." Dina cleared her throat awkwardly, glancing over at Lavender.
"Just, try politely asking next time." He said, pulling the keys from his pocket and tossing them to Lavender. "I'm gonna need them back in twenty."
"Yes, of course, Carl.. sir." Dina nodded quickly, "Mr. Carl.. Okay."
"Holy shit, we did it." Lavender muttered, "And I didn't completely embarrass myself! Not yet, at least."
