"Syd, I'm gonna dye my fuckin' hair." Lavender said excitedly, tossing her arm around Syd. "And since I have.. a shitton of hair.. I want you to come help."

"Well, you already said that.. So.." Syd said, laughing awkwardly as Dina looked up at Ricky Berry's house.

"Sorry for being excited, Sydney." Lavender said sarcastically, letting her arm slip from Sydney's shoulders. Sydney scoffed, missing the feeling seconds after it left.

"Shit." Sydney cursed, looking up at Lavender, who held a large excited grin on her face.

"Okay.. I'm scared, but fun scared." Dina gripped the sleeve of Bradley's jacket with her fingers. "Like we're about to go skydiving for the first time or something."

"So, excited?" Lavender teased, causing the girl to give her a look. Lavender laughed, raising her hands in surrender as Sydney shifted uncomfortably beside her.

"Well, I'm not fun scared. Feels like we're about to be eaten by wolves, like really drunk, judgemental wolves." Sydney shook her head, glancing over at Lavender.

"I wish I was drunk."

"We're gonna be fine." Dina said, sounding as if she was trying to reassure herself of that. "I just wish I could inject vodka directly into my veins."

"Ugh, same here." Lavender groaned, rolling her head back and stretching out her arms to the sky.

A sly smirk played against Sydney's lips as she reached into her pocket. "I do have this.."

Lavender gasped, taking the silver flask from Sydney's hands. The vodka burned her throat as it went down after she drank. Lavender giggled, handing the flask to Dina. "Holy shit, I fucking love you."

Sydney blushed, looking down at her feet sheepishly as she took a drink from the silver item. Dina grinned, putting her hands on her hips.

"You good?" Sydney laughed, glancing at both of them.

Dina nodded in confirmation, "I'm good."

"Me too."

"Good." Sydney smiled at Lavender, momentarily getting lost in her thoughts before Lavender interrupted.

"Let's fucking do this, guys."

The blaring music filled Lavender's ears as she greeted the people around her, "Lizzie, 'sup, girl. How's the boyfriend? Still shitty? Fuck him."

"Dina! Lavender!" A boy greeted, a grin plastered on his face. "Welcome to the maddness!"

"Hey." Dina greeted awkwardly.

"Ricky fucking Berry." Lavender greeted, licking her teeth as she crossed her arms. "Happy birthday, man. You comin' to the game?"

"Of course, can't miss my favorite crayon girl playing, can I?" Ricky laughed, shaking his head.

"Damnit, fruit boy. We talked about this." Lavender rolled her eyes teasingly. Sydney looked in between the pair, jealousy flaring up in her eyes. She didn't know that Lavender and Ricky were close. She knew they were friends, but not that they had nicknames for each other.

"And we talked about fruit boy." Ricky countered, turning his eyes to Sydney. "Hey. Hey.. Oh, gosh, don't tell me. I know it. I know this one."

Sydney nodded awkwardly, patting her thighs as she looked up at Lavender, who still held a smile on her face as she watched Ricky and Sydney interact, momentarily. "Sydney."

"Right! I thought it started with an S, yeah. Well, you guys go enjoy, all right? See you at the game, crayon girl."

"I better, fruit boy!" Lavender called, watching as he disappeared into the crowd.

"Ignore him." Dina waved him off dismissively. She gulped, looking at the carefree crowd dancing. "So, should we, like, get in there?"

"Fuck yeah!" Lavender cheered, "I see  beer pong, guys, let's do that. Please?"

"There's.. yeah, can we stick together?"

Lavender laughed, reached over and intertwining her fingers with Sydney's and raising their hands in front of Sydney's face. "Together enough for you?"

"I'd never leave you, anyways!" Dina said, pulling the two girls into the crowd.

Lavender had barely noticed the sky darkening because of the fun she was having.

She didn't feel worried for once. For once in her life since her mom married Eric, Lavender felt completely and utterly care free.

"Stanley!" Lavender cheered, waving him over to wear the three girls sat.

"So, Stan.." Dina said slowly, causing the boy to laugh nervously and look from Lavender to Dina.

"Yeah?"

"I just feel like you and I haven't really.. talked." She giggled, stretching her arm across the couch.

"I-I guess not.." Stanley knitted his eyebrows together.

"So.. you and Syd are, like, neighbors. Like, close neighbors, right?"

Lavender squinted her eyes, focusing on a girl across the room. "Hm.."

She was trying to figure out if that was the same cheerleader from last night or a completely different girl.

"Uh, I mean, we're, like, a.. we're like, a few blocks away from each other.. So, I'd say.. we're moderately close."

"Sounds pretty close to me!" Dina giggled, leaning her head on her hand. Sydney choked on her drink, rolling her eyes.

"Okay.. Just ignore her, okay?" Sydney laughed, covering Dina's face with her hand.

"Holy shit! That's Jenny Tuffield." Dina

"Back on the alcoholic shit, I see." Lavender muttered, crossing her arms and leaning her head on Sydney's shoulder.

"Didn't her mom just send her to rehab?" Stanley asked, glancing at the three girls.

"Yeah.." Dina nodded, "I guess since she's here, it totally worked, and she's all better now?"

"Yeah, right." Sydney's heart began to race as Lavender leaned closer to her.

A loud gasp left Dina's lips as Jessie's Girl began to play over the speakers. "I love this song! We have to go dance to this, like, right now, right this second."

"Hell yeah, I'm down." Lavender stood up, pulling Sydney with her. "Come on! Stanley, you wanna come?"

"Go for it, I'm good."

Lavender rolled her eyes, "Alrighty then, your loss. I'm a fantastic dancer."

Lavender grinned, throwing her arms in the air as she spun in a circle. "Come on, Syd, take the jacket off! For me?"

Dina nodded in agreement, unzipping her jacket and slipping it off her shoulders.

"God, you're so hot." Lavender winked, taking a sip from the red solo cup.

Sydney blushed, looking down at her feet, a smile creeping its way onto her face. "Thanks, Lav."
