Chapter 2.8:
The Locket

Maya knew exactly where she had to go and what she had to get.
Though, she couldn't exactly remember how to get there. But somehow, her feet carried her there without her mind having any influences on the lefts and rights she took.
Her fist raised up to the door and she hesitated before knocking on it. Minutes passed, and she was about to leave when the door opened, revealing an older man.
His eyes widened when he saw the woman, "M...Maya? Is it really you?"
"Hi, dad.." The woman awkwardly waved at the man she was once so close with.
The older man's eyes welled up with tears as he pulled her into a tight hug.
"I've missed you.. it's been so long.." He mumbled, pulling away and brushing hair out of her face. "It's been... how have you been? Where have you been? I haven't heard from you in.. in twenty years."
The man led her inside and sat her down on the couch, "Can I get you anything?"
Maya shook her head, "I'm okay."
The man shakily sat down on the chair near the loveseat she sat.
"Where have you been? What have you been doing? I-I can't believe you're really here.. Josh said something was wrong with you.. that you couldn't remember anything?"
"I've been in Chicago, I moved there and.. I love it." Maya sighed, running a hand through her hair. "It's really nice there, well, in the good part.."
He nodded, still taking in the fact that his daughter was back. "How have you been?"
"I've been good.. I mean, I could be better.. but.. you know.."
"Did you ever reconnect with that one girl... what was her name? Bethany? You guys were so in love.. you were so happy.."
"Beverly, dad." Maya couldn't help but smile at the name as she spoke it, "Her name is Beverly.."
"Beverly.. huh.." He hummed, "She was real nice, huh? Until she-"
"Dad.." Maya interrupted, shaking her head. "She did what she did for a good reason.. and it doesn't matter anymore."
"It matters to me-"
"Please, dad.."
The man nodded before changing the subject to his life, telling Maya how he'd been the past twenty years.
~~~
Maya's hand grazed the stairwell as she walked up the stairs. Pictures of her and Josh lined the wall, nothing had changed since she'd been there twenty years ago.
A picture of Josh in his high school graduation, Maya and Richie stood together with fake shocked faces.
A picture of Maya's high school graduation, Richie was in it too. School pictures, family pictures, any pictures with Maya or Josh in it.
Maya turned in the hallway, opening the door to her bedroom.
A nostalgic feeling washed over her as her eyes scanned the room. It hadn't changed at all.
She walked over to her vanity, smiling when her eyes trailed against each of the pictures.
It was the summer of '90.. the year Beverly broke up with her. By the time she'd reached her home, she'd realized that the locket couldn't be her artifact because that was from the summer of '90.
Her artifact was a picture of her and Richie. Both of them covered in flour after a failed cake attempt.
"No, you dumbass! That's salt! We need sugar!" Maya groaned, slamming her head into the cake mix box.
"A kiss from me is all the sugar you need." Richie winked, "but you'd rather have one from your pretty little girlfriend, huh?"
"Beverly isn't my girlfriend."
"Mhm.. Sure.." Richie hummed, watching as she tried to fix the cake. "You fucked up our ca-"
"I'd rather fuck you."
"And I'd rather fuck myself, thank you."
Richie gasped, throwing the cup of flour he held in his hand onto her. Maya gasped as she slowly turned to him. "Richie. You bitch!"
Maya scooped flour into her hand and tossed it onto him.
Within minutes, she, along with Richie and the kitchen were covered in flour.
Needless to say, her dad wasn't happy.
Her eyes trailed over the pictures before they finally landed on something..
The locket that Beverly gave her after their first time. It was in the clubhouse, and Maya knew if Ben, or Eddie for that matter, ever found out they'd be pissed the fuck off.
Eddie would surely give them an hour long lecture about all the diseases they could have contracted from the wood or any sort of STD.
As her fingers brushed against it, a wave of memories rushed over her, it was a beautiful necklace in the shape of a heart. She gently pulled it open, careful not to accidentally break it.
Her blue eyes welled up with tears when she saw the picture. It was of her and Beverly kissing. She remembered that day like it was yesterday.
She remembered receiving the locket like it had just happened, too.
Maya's hands tugged at Beverly's hair, earning a soft moan from the girl. Beverly's thumbs traced circles on Maya's bare thigh.
"You're so perfect." Maya whispered against Beverly's lips, briefly breaking apart to pull the redheads shirt off, leaving her in her white bra.
"Oh, come on now, now I'm alone." Beverly joked, out of breath as she gently tugged on Maya's shirt.
Maya giggled, breaking apart from her lips and pulling off her shirt, which left her in a black lacy bra.
"Beautiful." Beverly sighed in content, letting her hands roam Maya's torso.
Maya winked, goosebumps covering her exposed skin. She reconnected their lips, gently pushing Beverly onto the blanket they had brought.
Maya crawled over her, straddling the girl, and flipped her hair to the side before reconnecting their lips.
"Wh-What about.. the boys? They could, oh, shit-" Beverly interrupted herself with a moan, "They could.. come-"
"No, that'll be you." Maya bit down on her neck gently, earning another moan from Beverly.
"They could.. ca-catch us." Beverly finally got out through heavy breaths.
"Richie'll keep them away." Maya confirmed, trailing her hand down to Beverly's bare thigh.
Beverly nodded, wrapping her legs around Maya's waist and pulling her down.
Maya began trailing wet sloppy kisses from Beverly's mouth down to her neck and her chest. Beverly's blue eyes shut in pleasure.
"Mm, M-Maya.." Beverly's hands tangled in Maya's thick curly hair as her chest heaved.
Maya trailed kisses from Beverly's chest down her stomach, stopping just below her belly button.
She sat up, smirking as she stared down at her work.
One.
Three.
Four.
Five. Five on her neck.
Maya smirked, running a hand through her messy hair. She leaned down, her fingers brushing against the button of the jean shorts Beverly wore.
"Off." Maya spoke, causing Beverly to unbutton her shorts quickly, allowing Maya to tug them down her legs.
"Aw, a matching set? Just for me?"
Beverly's face turned a deep red as she turned her head to look at the wall of the clubhouse.
"Shut up.."
"No need to be so nervous, princess."
Maya leaned down, pressing a soft kiss against Beverly's lips as her hand slowly rubbed against her hip.
"Are you sure you want this?"
"M-mhm.. I want you, Maya." Beverly whimpered, her eyes filled with lust.
"Ah, ah, ah." Maya teased, lightly tracing shapes on Beverly's inner thigh. "What's the magic word?"
"P-Pl-Please." Beverly whimpered out, curling her toes together.
Maya smirked, "Well, you're just putty in my hands, huh?"
Beverly whimpered again, giving a slight nod as she gripped the blanket in her fists. "P-Please, M-Maya.."
Maya grinned teasingly, "As you wish, princess."
~~
Beverly had left a few minutes ago, leaving Maya with the stained blanket.
The shiny new gold locket now hung around Maya's neck, lying against Maya's bare chest, which was now, much like Beverly's, covered in pink, purple, and red splotches.
She laid on her her back, a soft smile resting on her face as she stared up at the cieling. Her blue eyes shut, and the poor girl hadn't even realized that she'd fallen asleep.
"Maya.." A voice called from the darkness, eerily.
"Hello? Bev?" She sat up, "I thought you'd gone back to-"
"Maya.." The voice repeated, now much closer to her. Maya sat up, looking around the darkened clubhouse. "Maya!"
A hand gripped her shoulder, causing a scream to rip it's way out of her throat.
She spun around to see a clown.
"No! No. No! We-We defeated you!"
It giggled, "Whatever floats your boat!"
Maya's eyes popped open and she shot up, her breathing heavy.
"Oh, it was just a dream.." Maya mumbled to herself, though, it didn't feel like a dream to her.. it felt like a warning.
