Zoya's eyes peeled open, and the first thing she saw were bubbles.

She slowly turned to her right, and saw Fred and George blowing bubbles.

"Hello, Zoya. How are you feeling?" Fred asked as he blew more bubbles at her.

She picked up her left arm, which wasn't broken, and waved the bubbles out of her face. George blew more, "My arm hurts like hell."

"We would have done something to Malfoy, but Hermione gave him an earful and punched him in the face again. Professor Moody also turned him into a ferret, but we think you were still conscious for that bit..." George trailed off, looking at his twin who shrugged.

Zoya faintly smiled, "Yes I remember that bit."

The two of them blew more bubbles into Zoya's face. She waved them away, "Would you two stop that?" She asked in a harsh tone.

"We are trying to make you feel better!"

"You don't need to! I'm fine!"

"Off you two go! Miss Kien needs to rest!" Madame Pomfrey said, walking up to the two.

The twins reluctantly got up and quietly bid their goodbyes to Zoya, who was staring at the ceiling emotionlessly.

Zoya got visits from Hermione, Ron, Seamus, Dean Thomas, Harry, and to her surprise, Lorelei and Cedric.

"We just wanted to make sure you're alright." Cedric said.

Zoya looked at the two, "You two are standing quite close."

They instantly took a few steps apart, "Why do you care I'm hurt?" She asked Lorelei.

Lorelei scoffed as Viktor Krum walked up behind her and Cedric, "Have you forgotten that I was there when you fell? Or did you hit your head as well?"

"Shut up and go away." Zoya quickly said in a low tone.

"What?"

"Go!" She snapped as Cedric turned around.

He smirked and nudged Lorelei, and she also turned around. The Slytherin rolled her eyes and walked off with Cedric, walking close to him once again.

"Are you feeling better?" Viktor asked, taking a seat next to her.

"I will be."

"I was thinking we could go to Hogsmeade tomorrow, if you're feeling better."

"I certainly will be feeling better tomorrow." Zoya said happily.

And Zoya was. It took a great deal of arguing, but Zoya escaped Madame Pomfrey. She and Viktor walked Hogsmeade all of Saturday, and drank so much Butterbeer that the two were sure they'd get sick.

They talked about everything from Quidditch to their families, she found that Viktor was not who everyone thought he was. He was much softer and often spoke with passion. Their conversation on Quidditch lasted only 20 minutes, as he wanted to learn more about her and her friends.

They walked back to Hogwarts later that day, and he stopped her in front of the Great Hall, "So the Yule Ball is coming up soon..."

This is it. She thought to herself.

"Yes it is. Do you have a date yet?" She asked, her eyes full of hope.

He shook his head, "No. That's why I wanted to ask you..."

"Yes?"

"... if Hermione would say yes if I asked her? I've been watching her and I love how she is always so immersed in books and education and not the drama going around. She'd be perfect to take."

Zoya's smile fell as quickly as it came. She felt her heart shatter into a million pieces and her stomach go to mush. She took a deep breath and pushed away her tears, "I think she'd love to go with you, Viktor. She is a great person and a wonderful friend to me. I know she would say yes to you." She quietly said.

Viktor sighed in relief, "Good. I loved hanging out with you today, we should do it again." He said, walking away to his friends who were approaching the two.

Zoya stood there blankly in the middle of the hall. She watched as he turned back to her, giving her one last wave before turning the corner. She quickly walked back to the Gryffindor common room, which was empty due to everyone being out on the beautiful sunny day.

She didn't care to go up the stairs to her dorm. She laid down on the couch in front of the fire place as tears fell from her eyes.

First Draco and her arm, now Viktor. She couldn't be mad at him or Hermione. She knew he had no intent to hurt her and only saw her as a friend, and Hermione, well, she was Hermione. Smart, beautiful, logical, basically everything she thought she wasn't.

If there was anyone she was angry with, it was herself.

She looked at the fire as more tears fell from her eyes. She heard the door to the common room open, and she quickly wiped her tears away.

"Did you see the look on his face?"

"Priceless."

Great. Why do the twins show up at every worst possible time?

The two stopped when they caught a glimpse of Zoya lying on the couch, "Kien! You alright?"

"Fine." She mumbled.

Fred hopped over the couch and sat on the back of it with his feet near hers while George sat down on the couch.

"Go away."

"What's wrong? A-are you crying?" George shockingly asked.

"Never seen you cry before." Fred said, leaning down to get a better look at her face.

"Bit strange." George added.

She sniffled and wiped more tears, "I'd appreciate if you two went away."

"Not until you tell us what happened." They said in union.

Zoya sniffled for a few moments, listening the soft cracking of the fire. She took a deep breath, "I went to Hogsmeade today with Viktor."

"Did he hurt you?" George asked.

"We'll beat him up!" Fred added.

She shook her head with a groan, "No! He didn't hurt me. Well, not intentionally. Also, you two could not take him down."

"How do you mean?"

"He was so nice and charming and genuinely interested in what I said. He then asked about the Yule Ball and... asked if he thought Hermione would say yes if he asked her to it."

George's eyes widened as Fred whistled lowly, "That's, well..."

"Certainly puts a damper on self esteem."

"Not that you had any to begin with."

Zoya glared at Fred, "Seriously?"

"Hey, you're a great girl and whoever you end up dating will be very lucky to have you." George said, giving her a light nudge.

The common room doors opened again, and Harry walked in with Hermione. They saw the three on the couch, and instantly approached them, "What's wrong, Zoya?"

"Zoya here had a rough day yesterday as I'm sure you two may know." Fred said, glancing at his twin.

"Turns out it's not only sticks and stones that hurt her bones."

"That was horrible, George."

The two sat down on the couch as Ginny and Ron walked in. They also walked to the group, but Ron said nothing to Harry, "We don't say it nearly as much as we should but... we are very lucky and happy to have you around." Hermione said to her.

"Though it would be nice if you didn't always make a scene and yell-"

Harry was quickly jabbed in the side by Hermione. Zoya slowly sat up and wiped her tears, "You know I do it because I love you all. I can't bare seeing any of you being put down." Zoya said as Ginny and Ron stood behind Fred.

"It's okay to be vulnerable sometimes. After all, we are your friends." Hermione said, "You don't have to always start a fight for us, you know."

"I do it because nobody defended me when I was at primary school. My parents sent me to school with Muggles and I made no friends. Everyone was constantly pushing me around and calling me names. I was over the Moon when I got my letter because I just knew that I would have friends and I could defend them and they would defend me. I'll gladly yell or punch or hex anyone that is mean to you guys." Zoya truthfully said.

"I'll be mean to George so I can watch you try and hex him." Fred joked.

Hermione took her hand, "We love you, Zoya."

"I love you guys too."

The twins jumped on her and Hermione continued to hold her hand.

All of her sadness melted away with the help of her friends, and she went to bed that night feeling nothing short of loved.
