πππ»πΌππΊ ππΈπΈππΈπ· ππΎπ΄π is what Emelia had told herself constantly. Now with the VKs at Auradon and her overhanging fear of the Isle because of her Grandma, she would repeat that in her head during almost every other hour of the day.
"I'm just saying, you have not seen that kid play tourney. I mean, holy shit he's a natural!" Austin had gushed as soon as they got outside. Beside them, Estelle and Adina had rolled their eyes as the boy went on. "You guys just wouldn't get it"
"No, we get it just fine" Estelle interjected, putting her phone in her bag after texting their mother. "We just don't get your obsession with those two boys." The other girls had let out their own agreement for the constant talk about them as the quartet came to a stop at one of the picnic tables under a large tree.
"Oh I think Lea gets it just fine" Austin teased, nudging her leg from his seat across the girl. She snapped her head to him and tilted her head, "What are you talking about? I don't get it at all."
"Please, how many times have you drawn him now?" Emelia sighed and hit her head against the blue table harshly. The other two girls had exchanged a glance and Adina from beside her, put her hand on her cousin's shoulder. Emelia had said her part, but none of them could hear because of her place on the table.
"Quit mumbling, we can never understand you!" Estelle huffed, taking her phone back out of her bag and setting it down on the table. "I've drawn him a reasonable amount of times, as well as the other VKs because I plan on giving the drawings to them. I'm not keeping them like some...idiot"
The buzzing of the half-mermaid girl's phone interrupted their conversation, all four of them turning their head to it. Estelle picked the blue phone up and glanced over its screen with a hopeful smile, her shoulders deflated when she saw who the message was from and clicked on it. "It's not mom" she sighed, bringing her phone closer to read clearer (Estelle desperately needed glasses, she just could never seem to admit it) "I've been waiting for her to respond."
"Who is it then?" Emelia hummed while reaching over to the bowl Austin had taken out of his bag and taking a strawberry. The boy huffed and smacked her hand away, sliding the bowl away from her with a frown.
"It's Jane," Estelle started, reaching her phone to the blonde with a shrug "She's asking if you wanted to go to the VK girl's dorm with her"

Emelia was delighted to go. After she and Jane had arrived, (who was now sporting a gorgeous new haircut thanks to Mal) Emelia immediately sat down next to Evie who was sewing new clothes. The two had talked quite a bit about how they made their own clothes, the Auradon girl asking if Evie could make her some clothes she might wear on the Isle.
Jane sighed and stood up from her spot, moving to grab one of the posts on Mal's bed, where the girl was lying. "Mom said, 'If a boy can't see the beauty within, then he's not worth it.' Can you believe it? What world does she live in?" She sighed and brought her hands up, going back to the other bed.
Mal scoffed, "Auradon."
"Mal, do you like?" Evie grabbed the sleeves of the shirt she was making, holding it up with a smile. "Yeah. It's cute. It brings out your eyes" She emphasized, continuing to write in the book below her.
Evie smiled brighter "I know."
Jane sighed again, "I'll never get a boyfriend" she sat down on the bed finally. Mal shook her head, "Boyfriends are overrated."
Emelia decided to keep silent, scooting her chair closer to Evie's sewing table as the girl brought the clothes back to herself. "And how would you know, Mal? You've never had one." She questioned, taking her hand off the fabric and leaning on her palm.
"It's cause I don't need one, E. They're a waste of time." Emelia personally disagreed, but she again kept her mouth shut because everyone was entitled to their own opinions.
Evie suddenly gasped making Emelia jump back slightly at the sudden sound. "I forgot to do Chad's homework! Oh, no!" The girl scurried to her bag, repeating her panic as the three girls watched. "And that is exactly what I mean." Mal shook her head and went back to her book.
Emelia got up when Evie got back with Chad's bag, the blonde got up and offered Evie her seat and the girl graciously accepted although she did say she could find another seat. Emelia didn't mind, moving to sit next to Mal before realizing the girl probably didn't want her on the bed. Her next option was to move to the other bed where Jane was sitting properly.
There was a knocking at the open door, all the girls except Mal looked at the person "Hey, guys! I'm Lonnie. My mom's Mulan?" It was quiet as the girl looked around, Mal finally bringing her head up from her book to look at her. "No? Anyways, I love what you've done with Jane's hair. And I know you hate us and well, you're evil. But..do you think you could do mine?"
Emelia was taken aback, if she was Mal she would refuse. Of course, she didn't know if Mal would take that as a compliment or think that was offensive, but in Emelia's mind, it was incredibly rude. She took to muttering that to Jane who silently nodded her head with a torn look.
"Why would I do that for you?" Mal gave her an incredulous look with her green pencil in hand.
"I'll pay you $50" Lonnie shrugged, holding a small satin tie bag out. Evie looked up from Chad's homework and nodded quickly, "Good answer. I need to buy more material." She stood up as Lonnie turned to her, Mal again went back to her book. "Let's see, I'm thinking, we lose the bangs, maybe some layers, and some highlights."
Lonnie held her hands up, "Yeah, yeah. I want it cool. Like Mal's."
"Really?" Evie tilted her head, "The split ends, too?" Mal glared at her, but with a shake of the bag in Evie's hands Mal set her pencil down and groaned as she got up from the bed.
As Mal got her book Jane and Emelia stood up to watch closer, "Okay...Beware, forswear, replace the old with cool hair." She shut the book and waved her finger which brought Lonnie's head with it. After a few seconds, her hair grew longer, turned a bit curlier, and brightened in color.
The girl walked toward the floor-length mirror, Evie following behind her saying "I know. I know. It looks like a mop on your head. You know what? Let's cut it off. Layer it.." Lonnie shook her head and cut her off, "No, no, no. I love it!"
Evie pursed her lips, "You do?"
She nodded, "It's just..." Her eyes glanced over herself, deciding to rip a slit into the left side of her teal skirt. "Now I'm cool."
"Like ice." Mal slowly nodded, hanging off the bedpost. Jane walked to the mirror without a word, ripping a slit into her knee-length dress. It took a few seconds before she gasped, "What did I just do? Mom's gonna kill me!" The girls all laughed, after a few seconds they all turned to Emelia with an expecting look.
"Don't look at me! I love this dress" She frowned quickly, looking down. Truly, it was her favorite dress, besides all the paint smudges and marks. Her mom made it for her, choosing something very similar to what she wore at 18.

Emelia had been dragged by Ben to check up on the VKs. Despite her (apparently forgotten) fear of them and the fact that she had already seen two of them today, Ben still wanted her to go with him.
"This was stupid, what if they're busy? Or they don't want anything to do with us?" Emelia whispered to him, a grip on his arm as he raised it to knock on the door. "Don't be silly, Lia." And he knocked, grabbing her wrist before she had a chance to turn and walk off.
It took a few seconds but Mal opened the door. Ben smiled, "Hey, Mal." Emelia took sudden notice of Jay and Carlos now in the room. "Hi again" The girl gave a small smile. Ben let go of her wrist, "I didn't see you guys today. I was just wondering if you had any questions or anything..that you, uh.. needed."
Mal shook her head, "Not that I know of." She looked back, Emelia followed her eyes, and finally noticed what Jay was wearing. When Mal looked back she noticed Emelia's eyes focused on Jay with a smile, she turned her head and furrowed her brows.
Noticing everyone's eyes were now on her after she didn't say anything, Emelia nervously cleared her throat. "Your shirt, uh..you- I just.." Never in her entire life was Emelia ever this bad with her words, let alone involving a boy. She shook her head and glanced around awkwardly, "Congrats on joining the team, I heard you were good."
From where he was leaning against one of the bedposts, Jay grinned "Thanks."
She got nervous again. "Okay! Well, if any of you need anything, just.." Emelia trailed off, grabbing Ben's arm and walking away slowly. Mal held her hand out quickly, "Wait!"
The two Auradon kids exchanged glances and much to Emelia's thoughts, they walked back to the door. "Um, is it true that we all get to go to your coronation?" Mal pointed between her and her friends. Ben nodded, "Yeah, the whole school goes."
"Wow. That is beyond exciting." Ben nodded slightly and broke out into a bright smile. "Do you think that it's a possibility that the four of us could stand in the front row next to the Fairy Godmother, just so we could... soak up all that goodness?"
Emelia did her best to speak up before Ben had a chance. She found this incredibly suspicious, not trying to be rude she spoke as friendly as she could. "We wish you could, really" She offered a small apologetically seeming smile.
Ben frowned and nodded, "Up front, it's just me, my folks, my girlfriend, Emelia, and her boyfriend."
Mal pursed her lips, "And your girlfriend?"
Ben nodded, "Yeah, I'm sorry." Mal took a second to glance over to Emelia's nervous look, the girl trying to avoid any talk about who she was taking.
"And you, you have a boyfriend?"
Emelia winced, "Uh, no not at all. Actually never had one" She giggled awkwardly, rubbing her arm and trying to avoid any look at someone who wasn't Mal. "But that's beside the point."
Mal glanced behind her, Emelia couldn't tell what she was looking at, then turned back to the two royal kids, "Okay. Thanks, bye!"
As the door began to shut Ben attempted to find a solution to their ask, "Wait, there's plenty of-" the door slamming shut cut him off. He looked at the handle quickly and sighed.
"I told you that wouldn't go well."

"Lonnie this is why I always tell you to grab more than you think you need!" Emelia informed her as the two girls opened the door to the kitchen. Emelia had run into the girl on her way to get white chocolate chips, Lonnie was looking for Mal.
Emelia was now out of her dress and into a spare pair of shorts along with a large tourney sweatshirt she had borrowed from Austin. Lonnie was wearing what she regularly wore to bed, loose-fitting pants and a tighter-fit sweatshirt.
The girls paused as they were met with the four VKs, "There you are, Mal! I was looking for you. You know, all the girls want you to do their hair!" They walked toward the table Mal and Evie were behind, looking at all the ingredients and tools across it.
"Midnight snack, huh? Whatcha guys making?"
Emelia leaned forward to look in the bowl, "Oh it's cookies!? I love baking so much!"
Mal shrugged, continuing to stir with the whisk in her hand. "Nothing special, just plain-" As Emelia reached forward with a spoon she had grabbed from the table, all four VKs shouted protests as she brought a small bit to her mouth.
"Uh, oh. Was I not supposed to? I'm sorry!" Emelia took the spoon from her mouth and set it down on a napkin with a wince and a string of apologetic words as she panicked from Lonnie's side.
Evie shook her head, "Don't be, just...do you feel anything?"
Mal added quickly, "Yeah, like maybe it might be missing something?"
As she shook her head with a confused and panicked look, Jay thought for a moment. He got down from his seat on the counter and stepped toward her with a grin, reaching up above her head to lean on one of the table's supporting poles. "Hey there."
Emelia's expression turned into a smile quickly as she tilted her head to the side. As she didn't say anything Jay kept smiling at her. Carlos, Mal, and Evie all looked between the two, waiting for anything to happen. Lonnie was completely clueless as she leaned against the table and waited for something to be said.
"Hi!" Emelia replied, studying his expression before speaking again. "Why are you looking at me like that?" He shrugged slightly and leaned a bit closer to her.
"It could use chocolate chips" She suddenly said, remembering Mal's question as she turned behind them to the shelves. Jay frowned, muttering "chocolate chips?"
Evie and Mal let out big sighs, returning back to the bowl. The five teens all watched as she shuffled through the kitchen shelves, a large 'Sorensen' with the number 23 underneath it on her back. "And those are..?" Mal asked.
Lonnie straightened her posture, "Just the most important food group." Emelia nodded shortly after she finally found them and returned with a bowl of them from the fridge. "Wait, didn't your moms ever make you guys, like, chocolate chip cookies?"
As Evie and Mal looked at Lonnie, Emelia immediately decided whatever she planned on saying next was a horrible idea. Lonnie took over the blonde's spot, nudging her to the side next to Mal. "Like, when you're feeling sad, and they're fresh from the oven, with a big old glass of milk and she just makes you laugh and puts everything into perspective and.. Why are you all looking at me like that?"
"Lonnie quit!" Emelia whisper-shouted rather harshly with a shake of her head. She was too far to nudge her or even stomp on her foot quickly, she would have to move Jay to the side or move past him and there was no way she could do that.
Mal looked back to the bowl and began stirring in the chocolate Lonnie put in "It's just different where we're from." Lonnie nodded quickly, leaning forward with a glance at all of them. "Yeah, I know. I just, you know, I thought..Even villains love their kids." Although it was supposed to be a lighthearted joke it turned into awkward silence.
Emelia sniffled quietly after seeing the look on the four of their faces. She reached out to put a small bit of her hand over Mal's. At the sound and feeling, the purple-haired girl looked up to her and noticed the tear just below her eye.
Mal quickly swiped it off and swiped it into the bowl, "Yeah, well, big bummer, but we have to get these into the oven so thank you two so much for coming by. Really, really have a good night!" She rushed, using her hands to push Emelia and Lonnie out of the kitchen.
"Wait! Jay, could you hand me those?" Emelia pointed to the bowl of white chocolate chips she had taken out with the regular ones. He nodded and reached over Mal's arm to hand it to her after he figured out which one she was pointing at. "Thank you!"
"Yeah, yeah that was really sweet, all that royal stuff. Goodnight, evil dreams!" Mal guided her back to the door where Lonnie was waiting for her.
After saying good night and goodbye to all of them, Emelia finally left with the bowl of white chocolate she was looking for.
