Holi, the festival of colours,

Only happiness is spread around;

No odour of sadness and cruelty,

Only colours are around.

Playing with water is so fun and amusing,

Throwing water balloons on others is so entertaining ;

Colours everywhere with some mischief,

Enjoying Gujiya and sweets with some pleasure and relief.

Day before Holi is Holika Dahan,

Marks the defeat of Hiran Kashyap and his sister Holika ;

Shows the true faith of Prahlad on Lord Vishnu,

Teaches the victory of good over evil.
