I'm woken up to the loud sound of a fist rattling against my bedroom door.

"Sylvie, open this door!" My father barks "Right now!"

I jump up in fright and turn to JJ, shaking him awake frantically.

"Babe, I just wanna cuddle" The Maybank boy grumbles, sleepily trying to pull me into his arms but I slap his hands away.

"JJ, you gotta hide!" I whisper yell, pulling on his tank top.

"But-"

"Sylvie Cameron!" My father screams and JJ shoots up in an alarmed state.

"Coming!" I answer, trying to stall him.

"Get in the closet" I demand "Now, JJ"

We both scramble out of bed and he grabs his clothes, heading to the closet. I grab his backpack and the gun falls out, hitting my foot.

I screw my face up in pain, hissing curses under my breath as I stuff the gun into his back and launch the item at him. He catches it and shoots me an apologetic smile before hiding in the closet, closing the door over.

"Sylvie!" My father yells and I hop over to the door, unlocking it.

I swing the door open and smile sweetly at him, hoping he won't search the room.

"What took you so long?" He complains, his eyes scanning my room.

"I had to pull on some clothes and I hit my foot on the bed" I explain "Sorry"

"Get dressed properly and come down stairs. We're leaving" He orders and my heart sinks.

"What exactly do you mean by 'leaving'?" I ask worriedly.

"You, Sarah and I are going to the Bahamas" He answers simply and my worry turns to confusion.

"Why?" I then ask curiously.

"Just business, Sylvie" He huffs "Now, get ready"

He storms off and I lock my door once again, leaning my forehead against the wood.

A hand lands on my shoulder and I relax, knowing that it's JJ. He spins me around and I wrap my arms around him, hiding my face on his chest.

"We're gonna be okay, angel" My boyfriend assures me.

"I know" I sigh, looking up at him "But...something doesn't feel right"

"I'm sure it's nothing" He smiles down at me, pecking my lips "Don't worry too much"

"I'll try to call you later" I tell him.

"And I'll answer" He replies.

I smile softly and reach up, kissing him. He grabs my waist and lifts me up, smothering me with kisses all over my face. I giggle airily and hug him tightly as he walks over to the bed.

He lightly places me down and I let him go before he grabs his boots, yanking them on. I slip off the tank top I'm wearing and hand it to him, making him smile widely. He pulls the top on and grabs his back pack, pecking my lips once more.

"I love you, angel" He smiles, tucking my hair behind my ear.

"I love you, baby" I reply, kissing his cheek.

He climbs out the window and I let out a sigh, pulling myself to my feet to get ready.

I run a brush through my blonde locks and brush my teeth before washing my face. After looking through my closet I slip on a pair of bright red denim shorts and a white crop top with thin cord like straps. I pull on my white Nikes and unlock my door, heading downstairs.

"There's your sister now" I hear my father say as I reach the bottom of the stairs "Let's get going"

He heads out the door and Sarah huffs as we follow him out to the car. I climb into the back of the car with Sarah and our father immediately starts the engine, pulling out of the driveway.

The drive is silent until we reach the old bell tower and Sarah sighs, turning to our father.

"Dad, I don't understand why we need to go to the Bahamas" She states "I think I- I really need to talk to John B"

"No, sweetheart, I told you, he is not himself right now, all right?" Our father says sternly "This isn't forever. It's just until they're able to find him and get him the help he needs. Trust me, all right?"

"You're talking about him like there's something wrong with him" I snap angrily "He's not the monster you're making him out to be"

"That's not what I'm trying to say, Sylvie" He lies through his teeth "He's just lost right now, and he needs professional help"

I bite back a retort to save Sarah from another screaming match and he gets this smug expression on his face as if he's won which makes me even angrier, but one look at my distressed sister calms me down slightly.

We reach the runway and our father climbs out the car first, leaving us behind.

"I'm worried. You'll need more runway with that weight" One of our father's employees tells him, making me perk up in curiosity.

the plane is too heavy?

"Didn't they cut palms to extend it?" Our father asks.

"Yes, sir, but if you're gonna abort, you're gonna have to do it early. All that weight's gonna shorten everything" The man explains and I turn to my sister.

We share a knowing look and climb out the car, now on a mission to find out what is making the plane so heavy.

"Come on! Get this done!" Our father hollers.

"Yes, Mr Cameron!" They yell back.

I watch in disbelief as men load box upon box into the plane, the contents of the boxes apparently being extremely heavy.

"Come on, guys. Let's get this stuff loaded" Our father huffs "Hey! Be careful with that"

"What's in the boxes?" Sarah asks him.

"Uh, just some, uh...decorative marble pieces that Rose found for properties down there. Antiques, I think" He lies to us and I shake my head.

I walk up to one of the guys, closing a van door and he looks at me in surprise.

"Excuse me. Hi" I smile politely "What's in those crates?"

"Hey! Hey" My father yells, grabbing me before apologising to the guy.

"No, excuse me!" I shout but the guy walks away and my father spins me to face him angrily "What?"

"Come on" He demands.

"I'm just asking a question" I shrug as he pulls me back over to Sarah.

"I know, it's fine" He sighs "Get on the plane"

"No" Sarah replies and I pull out of his grip, standing next to her.

"Please get on the plane. We have to get going" He asks but it sounds more like an order.

"No, I change my mind. I'm going home" She snaps, turning to walk away.

"If she's going then I'm going" I declare.

"Sarah! Sylvie!" He yells.

He grabs each of our arms and my stomach drops in fear, Sarah's frightened expression matching my own.

"No! No!" I screech, trying to get out his grip but he only tightens it.

"Do not cause a scene" He warns us both.

"No! Stop!" Sarah struggles.

"Stop it!" I shriek.

"Get on this plane!" He demands in anger, picking Sarah up and dragging me roughly.

"No! No, I don't wanna go!" Sarah cries out.

"I wanna go home!" I scream, trying to pry my arm out of his hold.

We're both dragged onto the plane and he forcefully pushes us into our seats.

"Ow!" Sarah cries and I yelp in pain as he slams my body into the seat.

"Get in!" He barks as he gets into the pilot seat "You listen to me. Damn it"

Tears stream down both our faces as he turns the plane before sending us rolling down the runway.

I gasp for a breath through my tears and Sarah grabs my hand in her own, her chest heaving for breaths herself. My eyes squeeze closed to try and block everything out and it starts to work until Sarah slaps my arm.

I open my eyes and turn to her. She points out the window and I see the Twinkie speeding beside the plane, John B in the driver seat.

"Hey! It's okay. It's okay" He assures us.

"It's gonna be okay!" John B adds.

Sarah laughs lightly through her tears and I smile widely through my own, squeezing Sarah's hand in happiness.

"Get off the runway!" Our father screams at John B in anger "Get off!"

John B slams his foot down on the gas as far as it will go and the van speeds in front of the plane. Worry runs through me, knowing the brunette is about to do something very stupid and I notice my father's hand reach up to the lever to pull the plane up.

"No!" I protest, grabbing his arm.

"Get back!" He warns me but I ignore him, yanking his arm away from the lever "Back!"

He grabs my head and aggressively smashes it back onto the metal wall behind me. Sarah screams and I grab my head in pain.

I then watch in horror as John B hits the brakes and swerves the van around to the side, completely stopping in front of us.

"Stop the plane!" I scream in shock.

"You're gonna kill him!" Sarah cries out.

"Stop!" We plead with the man.

Our father reluctantly hits the brakes and a bunch of the crates hit the wall behind Sarah and I, causing us to violently jerk forward. The plane comes to a stop and I look out the windscreen to see the van a metre away from the nose of the plane.

"Holy shit" I breathe out in awe.

John B jumps out the van and our father angrily kicks open the plane's door.

"Sarah!" John B screams "Sylvie!"

"Are you trying to kill them?!" Our father barks as we scramble out the plane "Trying to get us killed?!"

"I need the gold!" John B demands.

"No! No! No!" Sarah cries out, throwing herself into John B's arms "John B, you're okay"

"Get away from him" Our father snaps, trying to grab my sister.

"Don't touch her!" I spit, pushing him off her.

"And don't tell me what to do" The dirty blonde haired girl adds.

I hear the loud sirens of a cop car and I take a step back, next to the couple.

"You think this changes anything? It doesn't" Our father states.

"You gotta get outta here" Sarah worries about the Routledge boy "You gotta get out of here"

"She's right, Johnny" I tell him "Run"

The door of the cop car flings opens and I nudge the boy but he shakes his head.

"Oh, thank God you're here" Our father puts on a show and I see Sheriff Peterkin "Susan, I told you he lost his goddamn mind"

"Put your hands on your head" She demands.

"I'd do what she said, kid" Our father smirks at us and Peterkin brings out her gun, pointing it at him.

"She's talkin' to you, Ward" John B says and he turns in confusion.

"You're under arrest for the murder of 'Big John' Routledge" The Sheriff announces and Sarah gasps, falling into John B's open arms.

"I got you" The brunette assures her.

My heart drops, knowing deep down I wished he hadn't done it, and tears roll down my cheeks.

"Are you kidding me?" He scoffs.

"Put your hands on your head" Peterkin states calmly.

"Are you kidding me, Sue?!" He roars.

"Put your hands on your head!" She demands.

He slowly lifts his hands to the back of his head and I get a really bad feeling.

"Turn around" Peterkin snaps and He does just that "Drop to your knees!"

His knees hit the ground and Peterkin puts her gun away, taking out her handcuffs.

"I don't like being used" She growls, handcuffing the man "I waited a long time for this"

Our father suddenly pushes the woman back and she grabs her gun pointing it at him. A gunshot rings through the air and I stumble backwards in surprise.

I look down at my father but he doesn't seem hurt, so I look up at Peterkin in confusion and her knees buckle under her, a red stain growing on her shoulder.

Rafe rounds the plane with a gun in his hand and my stomach drops in horror.

"Rafe, no" John B warns him.

"Rafe" Sarah cries in anger.

"What did you do?" Our father says in disbelief and Peterkin collapses on the tarmac.

"I saved you, Dad" Rafe smiles proudly through his tears "I saved you"

"You really are a psycho" I breathe out in awe.
