Chattering floods her ears as she walks through the busy hallways of UA. With the initial excitement worn off, Yui is already bored of how all the conversations are around the sports festival. Maybe she's just bitter because she's technically not supposed to be here, and she feels like she's intruding.

Oh well. Nothing like an iced coffee can't fix.

She limps towards the vending machine in the cafeteria, keeping to herself as she navigates through the masses of students buzzing with anticipation and excitement. Her injuries from the little run in with the villain are recovering rapidly thanks to Recovery Girl, but there is still an ugly bruise and swelling around her eye, and several bandages wrapped around her left leg and forearm.

Yui manages to squeeze her way through the crowd. There's already a tall figure hovering around the vending machine. They accidentally meet gazes, and she blinks at the semi-familiarity of the person.

Shinsou Hitoshi, she remembers. He has a sweat towel placed around his thin shoulders, hair damp with sweat and poured water as it frames his face, and eyebags just as prominent as ever.

"Eyebags," she nods. Honestly, it doesn't really matter much to her whether or not the purple haired boy likes her enough to talk to her or not. He's not in class 1-A, and her only task really is to investigate her class. Apparently there are others looking into the other classes and cohorts, so Shinsou really isn't her problem. Shame, he's pretty hot.

He seems a little more hostile but gives a stiff nod in return. Yui doesn't bother holding back the urge to roll her eyes at that. He doesn't notice however, as he wipes his face with the towel, taking his sweet time in choosing what he wants.

Her feet taps impatiently as he sluggishly roams over his choices, taking gulps of his nearly empty bottle of water. Once he's decided, he presses his fingers on the buttons and a can of coffee slowly pushes out. It gets stuck, and he swears softly. Yui awkwardly waits for him as he tries to get it out to no avail.

"Let me try," she tries to force down her irritation. He shuffles to the side, eyes darting between her and the stuck can.

"I'm not gonna steal it," she rolls her eyes for the second time and tries shaking the machine. It barely budges.

"I never said you were," he retorts and watches with some semblance of amusement as she tries ramming her shoulders into the glass. It shakes, but nothing else happens. She lets out a grunt, her gunmetal eyes flashing with annoyance.

"Buy another can so it can knock it over," she tells him.

"Don't have anymore money. You do it."

"Uh, as much as I'm a Good Samaritan, I'm not about to give up two hundred and fifty yen."

"Cheapskate."

"Ungrateful prick."

Shinsou cracks a smile, softening up a little. He gives a shrug and pulls out more cash, inserting it into the slot and punching the same numbers again.

"You do have money," she says indignantly.

"Here's your medal, captain obvious," he rolls his eyes as runs his fingers through his messy indigo hair. That catches Yui's eye, and her gaze begins to meander down his body.

"Who's the cheapskate now?" She shoots back distastefully but her roaming eyes tell a different story. Shinsou gives her a look that clearly questions why she is blatantly checking him out without even bothering to hide it.

His ruffles his hair with the sweat towel, the static making the purple locks stand up a bit more. Yui gives a crooked smile. Something about boys who look like they never get sleep and probably smoke and skate is a type of attraction like no other, and she's pretty sure it's a universal theme, if Tik Tok and Instagram are any sort of measures.

The second can of coffee gets stuck behind the first one. Shinsou lets out a defeated sigh as he half heartedly hits the machine.

"Oi, help me tilt it," he gestures to the machine and Yui balks.

"Isn't that like dangerous? More people die from vending machines than sharks or whatever," she says, oddly proud of knowing a single fact. Shinsou gives her an even odder look.

"We go to U.A," he points out. "If you die from a vending machine you probably deserve it."

"Valid." She watches as Shinsou straight up tilts the machine, and a lot more than two coffee cans come tumbling down. Her eyes light up and she hurries next to him.

"Training hard?" She asks as she untucks her shirt, making a pouch and shoving as many items as she can into it.

"Yeah." He glances at her with a competitive look. "So watch your back, 1-A, because I'll steal your spot so quickly without you noticing."

"Big words," she smirks, a semblance of guilt gnawing at her. In almost every scenario she can think of, Shinsou is much more deserving than her of a spot in 1-A.

"You've taken alot of damage, I see. What are you even doing?"

Ah. He assumes that her injuries are from training. Reasonable, but wrong.

"Not training very well," she admits, which is a bit of an understatement because she hasn't actually trained at all. It's not like she's actually a student here anyway...

...but it is a good chance to get closer to the hottie.

"You know what? Train with me," she says, and he freaks out.

"Um wot?"

She shrugs. "Everyone else in my class has already got training partners or has gotten their shit sorted."

"Didn't I just tell you that I'm going to steal your spot?"

"Yeah, good luck," she says genuinely.

"You're big dumb," he scoffs. "But whatever. I'm free after five today."

Yui remembers the rule that she must immediately return home straight after school. She shrugs.

"Aight, bet."
