05 ; dickhead aizawa
Yui had stayed up late last night reading over the files of her classmates and had carefully analysed each 1-A students' quirks. Three hours of sleep is brutal, but Yui is more than used to it. She can thank her time in jail for that.
Highlighting and taking notes, she had particularly focused on quirks that would be suitable for infiltration, or quirks where the reported powers could be deviations or a singular aspect of another quirk. Midoriya and his strength quirk, for example, could actually be one part of a bigger enhancing quirk, which may include heightened hearing or vision. Or, depending on how his quirk works, could be the ability to warp his muscle cells to far stronger hybrid ones, which may explain why he ends up with so many broken bones. Despite this, Nezu has already reassured her that Midoriya Izuku is definitely, one hundred percent, not the infiltrator. Why, Yui doesn't know, but if it will reduce her list of suspects, she won't argue.
They're all intriguing, she will admit. Powerful, too. So far, only Midoriya is a definite cross on her list. Not even Endeavour's son is spared, although she is partially doubtful that he'd be the mole. The top suspects would be Hagakure, whose invisibility is a no brainer as to why. Next is Minoru Mineta, because otherwise she can't find a logical reason to how he got into class 1-A. He probably pulled some shady villainous strings to get in. Then it's Shoji or Jiro, whose amplified hearing— and sight, in Shoji's case— is suited for infiltration.
Kaminari Denki is near the top of the list, too. Apparently, someone with an electric quirk had jammed the signals during the USJ attack, thus the suspicion placed on him. If he's not as stupid as he acts, then he could possibly have better quirk control than he lets on, potentially being able to disrupt defence systems, even software, firewalls, anything really. Yui doesn't know much about IT, but she figures it's a safe bet to suspect him anyway.
Yui gives a big yawn before getting ready for the day. She slips on her uniform and does her hair before trudging out of her room. Aizawa is already sitting at the breakfast table eating.
Neither of them acknowledges the other's presence for a while as she rummages through the kitchen, trying to find her plate of food. She breaks the silence and turns to the man huddled in the yellow sleeping bag even when at the dining table.
"Where's mine?" She snaps.
"What?"
"Food."
"Didn't make you any. Why would I?"
She splutters indignantly. "Adults are supposed to take care of children!"
Unsurprisingly, he ignores her statement. Aizawa yawns, finishing up his food before summoning an orange juice box out from his sleeping bag.
"I'll talk about the upcoming sports festival today. You know what's expected of you." He slurps obnoxiously, too lazy to even keep polite eye contact with the girl.
"Yeah, yeah, I know," she waves dismissively. "Lose in the first round, don't do anything to attract the attention of the cameras or viewers."
"Good. Keep in mind you are not part of my class."
Okay then. She wasn't expecting such unfiltered words from her homeroom teacher, even if she treats him like cacapoopoo.
"Never wanted to be," she shoots back, distaste growing. He heaves a weary sigh before tossing the now empty juice box into the bin five metres away. It goes in.
"You have good memory, right?" He looks at her for confirmation.
"Possibly selective photographic," she grumbles reluctantly but shrugs. "I haven't checked it out with a doc yet."
"Didn't ask." He cuts her squawk of indignance off, "then you can find your way back here straight after school."
"What if I wanna go shopping?"
"With what money? Besides, you haven't earned any privileges yet."
"You're such a dickhead!" Aizawa's name is now above Principal Nezu's on her list of people-she-would-like-to-stab.
He brushes it off nonchalantly. "Be back here straight after school. There will be a policeman waiting." With that, he cuts the conversation off as he shuffles out of the dining area.
Yui grimaces and begins to make herself a measly peanut butter sandwich.

"Sports festival ..."
Yui slumps in her seat, pressing her face against the cool surface of her desk. Around her, people are talking animatedly, especially Ochaco who fires herself up, startling more than a few people with the intense look on her face. Yui gives a small smile at that, allowing herself to be swept away with the contagious excitement and competitive spirit.
People begin to talk about their quirks, what kinds of training regiments they'll put themselves through, and also chattering about who will be likely to win.
"I'm going to have a fucking indisputable first place," Bakugou spits out and smiles with too many teeth much to Yui's amusement.
"Todoroki-san's quirk is amazing too," Mina points out, and eyes swivel onto the male who ignores all the attention.
"We haven't seen Yamasaki's quirk in action yet," Kaminari points out. The mentioned girl cringes. She gives a careless shrug, but inside she's scrambling for something to say, knowing that she'll probably never use her quirk in anything other than pranks, PE, or stealing from the mole.
"It's not super combative, so don't get your hopes up," she gives an easy going smile.
"Nonsense! Assuming you have a limit to the number and size of items you can store, you can still easily use support tools and weapons and you'll have the element of surprise, plus if you can seal away less solid things like water or something then you basically can take null damage, that is of course-"
Trust Midoriya to raise someone's self esteem.
"Thanks," she chuckles, offsetting Bakugou's explosive yelling at the poor green boy.
Class flows easily after this, with everyone brimming with excitement. It doesn't seem like too much time has passed before the bell rings, and Yui trails after Ochaco, Iida and Midoriya. She doesn't want to sit alone at lunch again, plus Ochaco was the first person to make proper conversation with her, so Yui assumes that she'll be fine with her newly added presence.
"So why do you want to become a hero?" Iida asks Ochaco. Yui looks up in interest. "My brother is the hero Ingenium! And I look up to him greatly."
Ochaco looks embarrassed, tugging at her sleeves awkwardly under the eyes of her fellow classmates. "It's selfish, really," she says. "My family works in the construction business, and I was going to work there but my father told me to chase my dreams of becoming a hero. So I want to become a great hero to earn lots of money and support my family."
"There's nothing selfish about that!" Midoriya assures.
"That's pretty cool, Uraraka," Yui coos while pinching her cheeks.
"It's very admirable, Uraraka-san," Iida chimes, and she blushes and stammers out her thanks.
"What about you, Yamasaki-san?" Ochaco asks and Yui cringes for the second time in the space of an hour.
I'm actually a felon pretending to be a hero-in-training because your teachers are suspicious of someone in your class. Yeah, she should definitely tell them that.
"Young Midoriya!"
Yui jumps when All Might's figure appears, but is taken over by relief. She silently thanks him from sparing her of having to scrummage up a convincing answer. The man gives her a quizzical look before announcing for Midoriya to follow him. Yui exchanges a shrug with the other two and follows them to lunch.
"Yamasaki-san, you never answered the question," Iida points out. She puffs out her cheeks in annoyance, but decides to consider on what her reasons would be if she actually wanted to be a hero.
Yui stops walking as she ponders, remarkably serious. What is her mother thinking? What makes Aizawa so good? How do heroes actually benefit this society? What makes them so different to civilians, vigilantes, government figures, policemen, villains?
"Yamasaki?" Iida prompts. She blinks before rapidly catching up to them and offers a cheesy grin.
"To get coochie."

Hi chicas it's currently 5am and I'm still procrastinating my dumbass maths report due in three hours so bear with me with this boring chapter x
I also haven't seen the sports festival arc in a while so it's based pretty loosely off my memory, apologies if it's inaccurate
