Pt 1 Ch 10: 𝘋𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯'𝘴 𝘏𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘦

"Well," Steve paced around Dustin's living room. "I don't feel safe now. I mean, a baby Demogorgon is on the loose-"

"Excuse me, what? What the actual hell is a demog- demogor-whatever they're called, what is it?" I proclaimed.

"A Demogorgon? It's a creature that can grow up to like nine feet and it has this face that can expand because it's split up... they're like, these things from this place called the Upside Down-" Dustin was cut off by Steve.

"She knows about the Upside Down. I told her on Thursday," Steve blabbered.

"Well, that gives me one less thing to explain," Dustin looked relieved.

"Okay, so basically this Demogorgon is on the loose, and we don't know where it is. It could kill someone," Steve became wide-eyed. "Or it could kill more. Or... it could multiply."

I sat there. I began to feel nauscious. I got myself involved in something I shouldn't have. I got up and almost fell down. I barfed in my mouth. I bolted to the bathroom. "ADDIE?" Steve yelled.

I fell at the foot of the toilet. I opened my mouth and released the vomit. I coughed up anything else that was in there. I was shaking and I could feel the acid build up in my throat burn. The two ran in and were huffing. "Ew, that's disgusting!" Dustin exclaimed.

I sat there, staring into the toilet, seeing the popcorn from earlier lying in the toilet. "Addeline?" Steve caught my attention. "You alright?"

I nodded. "You sure? You don't look to good," he said while reaching over and flushing the toilet.

"I'll get you some water," Dustin rushed out cursing under his breath.

Steve came over and pulled some toilet paper off the rolland wiped my face. He picked me up and shut the toilet lid. He sat me down on it and began wiping my face with some warm water and a rag. "You scared me," he whispered.

Steve was worried about me and that made me melt. Even though I just vomited, he held me in his lap, my legs were hanging off the side of him. Dustin ran in with the water. "Did you guys kiss or something?" he remarked to me sitting on Steve's lap.

"No, dude," Steve said grabbing the water. "Ew. Geez, can I not take care of Byers here without you thinking we like- never mind."

He handed it to me. I put it to my lips. The cup was shaking in my hand. Steve held my hand in his to give me more support as I drank the water. The liquid went down my throat, relieving most of the pain. I tried standing up. I sort of stumbled, but I grabbed onto the counter. "Whoa, take it slow, Wonder Woman," he held my waist to give me support.

It felt like the butterflies in my stomach were about to explode. This man was becoming my priority; Billy was the last thing on my mind at this time. All I could think of was Steve. Nothing else was going on, just me and him.

Dustin made us set up camp in his room for the night. The kid had a decently big room for a thirteen-year-old. He laid down in his bed, and after a few times of shuffling he fell asleep

I took a shower and changed into something Dustin had found for me out of his mom's room

I changed into the clothes that Dustin had gotten out for me. It was a tank top from his mom and some pajama pants from her too. She wasn't home, but she was looking for her cat, Mews, the cat the Demogorgon ate. Dustin had explained earlier that he lied l, but I guess it was for the better

Steve walked out of the bathroom in his white undershirt that was underneath his sweater paired with a matching pair of pajama pants to my pants

Me and Steve went back into the living room. Dustin had pulled out the futon that was hidden inside his couch. "You can take the bed," Steve offered. "I can sleep on the ground."

"Are you sure?" I meekly asked. "I wouldn't mind you, like, being on the bed too. I don't care really."

"I just don't want to make you uncomfortable," Steve muttered.

"You won't, I promise," I assured him.

I got two pillows and put them on both sides of the mattress. I pulled out three blankets. One for him, one for me, and one extra so that if one of us gets cold, we can just use the one already out.

I laid on one side of the bed. Steve wandered around Dustin's kitchen looking for something to munch on. He walked in and sat down on the bed, defeated, not finding anything. He finally laid down, shutting off the lamp next to him in the process.

There was a bit of space between us. The room was like an igloo. I shuffled to find comfort. I gave up and laid in denial.

The quiet gave me time to think.

Billy doesn't actually like me, does he? I mean he treats me like I'm his girlfriend but commitment doesn't exactly look good on me.

I'm new here I shouldn't be on the market for some guy quite yet...

At least for Billy Hargrove I shouldn't.
