Katelyn used to be like a child. She has never been one to take things seriously. She didn't like to think about the problems in life. She would much rather run around like a child, chasing other people and causing trouble. She was someone who relied on her smart mouth and quick thinking to get out of trouble, or into trouble. It was very unusual to see her walk calmly, instead she would be running around, being chased by angry people or being followed by the sound of cursing. She used to be pretty vain. If she wasn't causing trouble or playfully insulting people, than she would be busy with her image, how other people think of her. She used to enjoy gossiping and loved to talk trash about others. She knew it wasn't nice, but she didn't care. However, her personality changed dramatically after she was thrown in the world of fae.

Kat isn't immature or mischievous. Not anymore. She turned into someone who thinks before she acts. She is resilient, calm and cunning. Kat has learned that acting rashly will only cause trouble. It will only bring harm to her and the people she cares about. So she learned how to keep her mouth shut and keep her temper in check. She has learned to chose her battles. She will now her head, be silent and obey it she needs to. Only to stab those who have wronged her in the back when she has the chance. She is selfish. She has no one left to care for. Everyone she once loved is dead. Her heart has become cold and cruel. She doesn't care much for people and isn't one to help if someone needs help. However, she is also not one to rat you out. She will simply watch and p nothing. Being passive is what kept her alive for years. Kat doesn't want to fight for anyone, especially not if it has anything to do with fae. She despises fae, especially those from Hybern and prytian with her whole heart. Even though she is a fae too, she will never accept the species. They have brought her too much harm. She holds grudges till the end of her life and will not forgive and never forget.

Kat is an emotion wreck. She is constantly pushing her feelings to the side. They will only get in her way. Some people say that letting your emotions free will help you. Well it certainly didn't help when her family was killed , or when her sister tortured or when she turned into the personal toy of a mad king. So instead she keeps pushing them away, or at least, she used to. She tends to have an emotion breakdown once a while. Sometimes it's just the crushing feeling of memories. Sometimes it's caused by certain words or actions. During these moments she is very violence. She won't let anyone or anything touch her and will lash out, both physically and with her magic. Kat has a sharp tongue and knows how to trick someone. She has learned the ways of fae fairly quickly and is a master in manipulation. She is also good on mind games and insulting people without actually insulting them. All these skills were necessarily for her survival. If she didn't learn the ways of fae, if she didn't learn how to lie and manipulate, how to please people and play the games, than she would have died a long time ago.

Katelyn is the younger sister of Claire beddor. The unfortunate girl that Amarantha mistook for Feyre and paid the price for it. She was raised in relative wealth. As a young child she was taught to be a lady, she learned how to sit in the right way, how to talk in the right way. She learned how to curtsy and how to get male attention without being scandalous. She learned everything and more. Her childhood was strict but good. Her parent were strict, but they genuinely loved their children and gave them as much freedom as possible. This allowed Kat to develop her mischievous personality. She grew up as a spoiled rich girl who had little worry other than to get a good husband and make her family proud.

Her carefree childhood ended in blood. The months before her family's end, she spend many days at the Archeron mansion. She was forced to go with her older sister Claire. She didn't enjoy her time at the mansion, she didn't know Nesta or Elain that well and felt like an immature child in their presence. It would have been better if their youngest sister had been there, Feyre, but she was visiting an aunt on the continent. So Kat was forced to spend her days at the mansion in boredom. Soon she would look back at those days with envy.

She was at her own house when it happened. She was laying in bed, staring at the ceiling of her room. That was when she heard the sounds, muffled screams and cries for help. Kat did what every curious teenager would do. She followed the sound of crying, sprinting down the stairs, right on time to see monstrous creatures taking her sister, and killing the rest of her family. She grabbed the thing closest to her, a thick book, and threw it against the head of the monster the closest to her. She fought them like a wild animal, even jumping on the back of one and pulling on his wings. But one little girl was no match for them. She was thrown away and stabbed several times. She felt like dying, she was probably was actually dying, everything hurt. The wound in her stomach was bleeding heavily, she was losing too much blood. She stared blankly at the sight in front of her, the monsters, her crying family. She couldn't push herself to feel a thing, until one of the monsters grabbed her youngest sister. It wasn't hard to see what the monster was planning. Her sister was only 10. That was when something inside of her snapped. Something ancient, wilder and more powerful than anything she has ever felt, streamed through her veins. Everything froze. Literally. Ice crawled over the walls, the floor, towards the monsters, trapping them in a prison of ice.

At that moment she discovered a secret. The secret of her birth. She wasn't the daughter of her mother's husband. She was the daughter of a high fae, coming from one of the deathly fae courts behind the wall. Her mother had allowed him to seduce her one night, and one night only. Kat was born 9 months later. She didn't have the pointed ears of a fae, she didn't have enchanted speed or strength. But she did heal quicker than most people. The only one who had ever known this was her mother, who did everything in her power to protect her daughter. She had done a good job, until that fateful moment. When Kat's magic bust through and froze the room, the mansion. It was only for a few seconds before the monsters broke free from ice. Kat's magic wasn't very powerful, she was only half fae after all, and untrained. It didn't hold the monsters back for long. They broke through the ice like it was paper. Killing the last of her family members with a few slices of their claws. Only Kat and Clair were alive. Kat was breathing heavily, barely able to keep her eyes open. She doesn't remember much after that, only clawed hands that grabbed her and dragged her away from the, now burning, house.

She doesn't remember much from the following hours. The next thing she remembers is being thrown on the hard floor of Amaratha' throne room. She remembers blinking slowly before registering the sound and the stench of the room. The fae around her, she was pretty sure they were fae by now, were shouting at her. Luring insults at her head. Claire was sitting beside her, crying while one of the monsters that killed their family held her up by her hair. A red haired woman was speaking to her, Kat knew she was the leader. The crown on her head told her more than she needed to know. Soon the woman directed her attention to Kat, but she didn't hear anything. She couldn't speak, only lay down on the ground and hope that she would die. The wounds on her body were taking its toll. The only thing that kept her going was her sister' hand in hers, and a pull. A certain pull that kept yelling at her to keep going, to not give up. After what felt like hours, she was dragged out of the throne room and thrown on a ship. She clearly remembers the feeling of the sea under her, the movement from the ship. She was brought to the kingdom of nightmares, Hybern.

The king had requested a half fae. There were very few half fae in the world, pure half fae, and even less with magical talents like hers. He kept her locked in his dungeons, using her as his personal toy. He trained her body and her mind, laying a spell on her so that she couldn't disobey him. But that wasn't enough for him. He wanted to test something. A theory that would make him the most powerful man on the planet. He had the cauldron in his possession, the magical object that created the universe, and he had heard it could turn even a human into a fae. He forced her down the cauldron ,wanting to test his theory before he would present it to the moral queens and torment the Archeron sisters with it. His theory was correct. Kat became a high fae. But something went wrong, she became wilder, less controllable. She has taken something from the cauldron. A gift that even the cauldron couldn't take from her agin. One that made her more confident, rebellious. Even the king of hybern's magic couldn't keep her trapped anymore. The moment she felt his magic weaken, when Feyre cut through his spells, she left the castle and disappeared.
