[season 5 episode 15]

Alison remembered the look of hurt on her fiance's face when he came back from Derek and Meredith's place last night as he was helping Derek set up the engagement proposal.

She remembered consoling him that night and reminding him that he was a good person and he deserved loved.  And she showed him what she meant.

"Aww bubs," Alison frowned when Mark turned around and faced his fiance.

She had never seen him look so devestated before.  Alison walked up to him and he instantly wrapped his arms around her and rested his head in the crook of her neck.

"What happened?" She asked him as one hand palmed her stomach and he felt his son kick his hand, which brought the first real small smile to his face since Derek had basically called Mark a shitty person and that he was incapable of knowing what real love was.

So he begins to tell her...

"This is stupid," Derek said as he was lighting candles in Meredith's bedroom that Mark was helping him with.  "She's gonna hate this."

There was already a red roses heart on her bed and a big white teddy bear in the front of her bed.  Mark lights some of the candles on his side.

"What flowers?  Girls love this crap," Mark told him.

"Cliche," Derek tells him.  "I'm cliche."

"Cliche's became cliche's for a reason," Mark helps encourage his friend.  "Because they worked.  It's great, isn't it?  When you feel so strongly for someone and its not just about the sex.  It is - its true."

Derek starts laughing.

"You should not talk like that," Derek tells his friend.  "What do you know about a real relationship anyway?  I mean your relationship with Alison started out with sex.  How do you even know how to be in

"You know, Derek, I've put up with a lot of what you have called and thought of me because I could understand that I put you through hell.  But I will not stand for you disrespecting my fiancé.  Well your all set here.  I'm gonna leave you to it.  Congratulations."

"Thanks," Derek felt kind of bad for what he said but nothing was going to ruin this moment.

He was about to propose to the love of his life.  But just then his phone rang and he answered it.

"Hello?  Addison?  What happened?"

🤍⚕️☕️___________🏛🍾🤍

"What if we got married?" Alison asked making Mark's eyes widen in shock.

"Are you sure you want to do this?  Your not gonna regret it tomorrow or doing it in spite of Derek?"

"Mark Everett Sloan," she took his face in her hands.  "I have been wanting to marry you since the moment you asked.  Maybe even before.  We just won't tell my parents that we eloped and still have the big wedding later on."

"Let's do this," he grinned the biggest since the moment Alison told him she was pregnant with his son.

Lexie and Callie met them at the courthouse with some flowers for Alison.  They didn't want it to be so impersonal where there wasn't anything for the bride.  The bride and groom had their rings.  Mark was going to wear a black silicone ring because he wanted to wear it during surgery. Alison had some too that she could wear during her surgeries as well that they had gotten from Amazon.

It wasn't an expensive dress that Alison was wearing but it was a dress she had ordered for an upcoming photoshoot with Mark that made her feel beautiful.  It was an ivory colored dress that was floral embroidered mesh.  It was open shouldered that had applique flowers and sequins, a pleated waistline, a sweetheart neckline, cami straps, a scalloped trim and there was a hidden zipper back closure.

"You look beautiful," Mark told her as he couldn't believe they were actually doing this.  "I can't believe I'm actually getting to marry you."

"You better believe it," Alison smirked.  "You look so handsome and I can't believe I get to be yours forever."

He leaned down and cupped her face as he pressed his lips to hers and they moved in synch.  She let out a moan as she ran her fingers from his chest to around his neck as she pulled him closer to her.

He stopped before it could go any further.

"As much as I want to carry on with this, I'd really like to be married to you now."

Alison places a kiss right next to his lips and then moves her lips to his in a short but sweet kiss.

"I do too.  Let's go."

🤍💉☕️___________🗽🍺🤍

When Alison mentioned getting married at the courthouse - Mark could have sworn he felt his heart skip a beat.  There were only a few things he felt like he's done right and one of those was loving Alison Marie Anderson.  And helping create their son.

The third thing was becoming a surgeon.

But Alison and their son were his life.  And he loved this life that he was creating for himself.  He couldn't believe that after all this time Derek couldn't see the man he was becoming.  So the fact that Alison wanted to get married now was the best feeling in the world.

They were now at a beautiful courthouse at Pacific County Courthouse and had already applied for their marriage license.  It was so beautiful as it also has a gorgeous stained glass dome and is one of the most beautiful buildings Alison and Mark had seen inside.  They were always going to have a courthouse wedding here in Seattle because they had talked it over and had decided to have a destination wedding in Austria.  Save the Date invitations were already sent out and their closest friends and family were coming with them.  Around 30 were coming and Addison was one of them that already said she would be coming.  Their past history was just that - the past.  They were all in different points in their lives now and all parties were changing into better people.  Well, Derek had some questioning moments like the night before.

"You look so beautiful," Lexie gushed to her one of best friends as she saw her in her wedding dress and handing her a bouquet of flowers for her.  She also had a bridal floral crown for Alison.  "These are for you."

"I love them!  Thank you, Lexie," she smiled at her as Mark thanked her and grabbed the floral crown and gently placed it on his fiancé's head as he then leaned back and made sure it looked perfect.

"Beautiful," Mark grinned.

"I can't wait to marry you," Alison told her fiancé as he laid a hand on her bump.

"I can't wait to marry you either," he leaned down and pressed his soft lips to hers as she closed her eyes and enjoyed the feeling of his lips against hers.

Nothing about their relationship was traditional and they were okay with that.  It made them - them.

🤍⚕️☕️___________🏛🍾🤍

"We're here today to witness the union of Alison Marie Anderson and Mark Everett Sloan in marriage.  Today, you begin a new life together, founded in love, laughter, honesty, respect, and friendship.  The promises you make to each other today should not be taken lightly.  A marriage is more than a ceremony - it is a lasting and lifelong committment.

The future promises many happy days ahead, filled with unique opportunities, adventures, and challenges.  It is through trust, love, and the unfailing support of each other that you will meet these inevitable ups and downs.

Do you Mark Everett Sloan take Alison Marie Anderson to be your spouse and to live together as partners, to treat them with love and respect, and to build a marriage that grows stronger and more loving as time passes?

"I do," Mark said as he slid her ring on her finger.

"And do you Alison Marie Anderson, take Mark Everett Sloan to be your spouse and to live together as partners, to treat them with love and respect, and to build a marriage that grows stronger and more loving as time passes?"

"I do," Alison said as she slid his ring on his finger as they both wore big smiles on their faces.

"If you have the rings, please take them out now," the officient said.

Mark's was a silicone black ring he had found on Amazon that he really liked.  He wanted to be able to wear it during surgery and thought this was perfect for him.

"The wedding ring represents the promises and potential of marriage.  It has no beginning and no end.  It is a timeless symbol of the love and committment you have pledged.  As you wear this ring, let it remind you of the love you feel here today.

Alison, please place the ring on Mark's finger, and repeat after me:

I give you this ring as a symbol of my love and devotion,

as we join our lives together,

today,

tomorrow,

and for as long as our love shall last."

She repeated it as she slid his ring on his ring finger and felt giddy with excitement.

"And Mark, please place the ring on Alison's finger," the officient said as Mark repeated the same words as he had tears in his eyes as he placed her ring on her finger.

It was a different color than her engagement ring that was silver.  This band was rose gold by Cartier.  It's the 1895 wedding band with the width being 2.6mm so it was smaller in size which was perfect for Alison.  It was set with a brilliant-cut diamond of 0.01 carat.  The wedding band she had for Mark on days when he wasn't in surgery was the Cartier D'Amour in platinum.  When he was in surgery he would wear a black silicone rubber ring he found on Amazon.

Lexie and Callie looked at each other as they smiled over their friends happiness.  Lexie only wished that Derek could be here too to enjoy this.  She knew that they were always going to have a courthouse wedding, but still.  He should be here and because he was being a jerk about the couple - he wasn't.  Of course, she would try to keep it to herself but she hated secrets.

"True marriage is more than just a ceremony or a piece of paper - it is a lasting bond that joins two lives and two hearts.  Marriage is love.  Companionship.  Trust.  And respect.  May you always find strength in each other, laugh with each other, and find safety and comfort in each other's words and company.  May you celebrate many joyful seasons together, support each other when days are difficult, and continue to learn and grow closer together with each passing year.  By the virtue of the authority vested in me by the State of Washington and American Marriage Ministries, I now pronounce you husband and wife.  You may kiss-"

Before he could finish, Mark cupped his wife's face in his hands and pressed his lips to hers.  Alison's head tilted back slightly as she enjoyed the feeling of his soft plump lips on hers.

His lips brushed softly against her forehead as her hands rested on his chest.  Callie took the sweet picture of the newly happily married couple.  Alison couldn't believe that this man was now her husband!  I mean he's McSteamy... the guy who cheated on Derek's ex-wife... the guy who she hated without even knowing anything about him.  Now, when she looks at him, she can't imagine her life without him.  This man was her now husband.  The guy she told everything to and felt safe and loved in his arms.  He loved her and she loved him.  All the stars in the sky couldn't keep them apart now.  Alison had never felt a love like this before.

"The bride," the officient finished which made Alison let out a giggle in between their kissing and Callie and Lexie wore happy smiles as they took pictures.

"I love you," Alison muttered to her husband as she stared lovingly up at him.

"I love you too," he leaned down and kissed her again.

The ambulance pulled up to the ER department as Richard and Derek were waiting on Addison.  Addison and Naomi got out of the ambulance and hugged the both of them.

"It's been a long time," Naomi greeted Derek with a soft smile.

"We've got an ICU bed ready for him," Richard told Addison as she hugged her ex-husband.

"He was fine," she explained still in shock as they enter the ER.

Izzie was in the ktichen doing some arts and crafts for the interns to help them try and get better.  She realized that they had been failing them and she wanted to be the one to help them.

"What the hell are you doing?" Alex asked his girlfriend as she was sprinkling glitter onto some glue.

"The interns are broken," she begins to explain.  "They've been punished for taking out their own appendix's and its making them hate medicine.  They're lost right now and have forgotten that this thing they hate is actually a thing they love.  So, I'm going to remind them," she tells him as she creates a swirl with glue on a piece of colorful paper.

"Is this about Denny?" He asks.  "Is this about some kind of dead boyfriend art therapy?"

"This is not about Denny," she tells him.  "It's about the interns."

"Who cares about the interns?" Alex questions.  "They're a bunch of losers."

"They're not," Izzie argues back.  "They just need to have a little fun and so do I.  Where are the damn scissors?"

"They're right in front of you," Alex tells her.

"Oh, right," she says and grabs them.

"Iz-"

"Will you hand me that large bow please?" He does as asked and leaves it in front of her.  "See this is going to be great."

🤍⚕️☕️___________🏛🍾🤍

Alison let out a giggle as her husband was peppering kisses up and down her neck and she ran her fingers through his hair.

"I can't believe were finally married," she said with pure happiness.

"Can you believe it took us having almost a year engagement to finally do it?" Mark questioned as he propped himself up and marveled at his stunning wife as they just finished having sex.  "I feel like a new person."

"Who would have thought that I would end up being a husband?" He said out of wonder.

"And who would have thought I would be the one to tie down the Mark Everett Sloan?" Alison questioned as she got to her knees and was now straddling him as he caressed her thighs.

"I knew right away you were different," Mark said as he had one arm behind his head and stared at his beautiful wife who was about to give birth to their son any day now.  "Even then."

"Yeah?  How?"

"The way you love your job, how you treat others and give others second, third and sometimes forth chances even when they don't deserve it.  Your zest for life and your love of adventure.  And lastly, your love for your family."

"Mark..." she felt her eyes tear up and she wanted to blame it on her emotions during this pregnancy but she knew it wasn't.  This was just an emotional day all together.  She placed her hand on his cheek as she caressed it.  "I love you so much.  I even love it when your arrogant at times.  Some people find it as a turn off but it just means your confident.  I love your confidence and the way you take pride in your work.  Your not just an ass and a boob job type of plastic surgeon.  Even in someone's darkest hour where they are possibly on the brink of losing hope, you give them that.  And the way you love me.  I could never have asked for a better husband.  You literally know me from the inside out."

"I love you," he pulled her as close as he could due to her bump in the way as he pecked her lips slowly at first than more passionately before she pulled away.

"I love you too.  Round two?"

"Come here," he pulled her on top of him as she let out a shriek of laughter and they continued showing their love to each other.

🤍⚕️☕️___________🏛🍾🤍

"Does he know how he got the parasites?" Richard asked Addison.

"He thinks he got it from eating unwashed fruit in Mexico," she answered.

"He's bradycardic," a nurse tells Doctor Webber.

"Why is he bradycardic and hypotensive?"

"He's having a reaction to the fentanyl drip," Derek explained.  "Stop the fentanyl drip and push the narc in."

"Wait Derek," Addison stops him.  "If you take him off the drip and he seizes up there could be permanent brain damage."

"You better hope that doesn't happen," Derek tells her.

"Hope?!" She starts to freak out.  "That's what your plan is hinging on... hoping that the worst doesn't happen?"

"I'm hoping he stops seizing because I know if we don't reverse the drip his heart is going to arrest.  So unless you have a better idea.  Push the narc in," Derek tells the nurse again and she does.

"Okay he's in V-fib," Richard tells them.  "Get the crash cart," as Derek slams on his chest and Archer opens his eyes and gasps.

🤍⚕️☕️___________🏛🍾🤍

"Morning Chief," the intern, Ryan says with excitement.  "Heard there was a guy who has worms in his brain."

"Does anyone currently know the medical term for worms in the brain?" Richard asked the interns just as Alison was walking by and the interns were silent.

"Neurocysticercosis," Alison says loudly as she stops walking with her husband.

"Thank you, Doctor Anderson," Richard says as he tells the blonde fellow and she smiles before leaving to go see Addison.  "See, that's what I'm talking about!  Even a neonatal surgeon knows what the medical term is."

Alison gave a sly smile as she was now Alison Anderson-Sloan and no one except Lexie and Callie knew about it except the four of them.  Normally, keeping secrets was hard on Lexie, but this one wasn't as she was happy for her friends.

"Doctor Stevens requested you today for a special project," Richard tells the interns and lets her speak as he leaves.

"Okay, take an envelope and then pass the rest back.  Do not open them.  Your going to need them for the first game were gonna play," Izzie says excited.

"That's what were doing today?  Playing games?" Steve asked disappointed in this day already.  Why couldn't they do something cool like watch the surgery with the guy who had worms in his brain?

"Cheer up," Izzie tells him.  "We're gonna have so much fun!  I said don't open the envelope!  Don't you know how to play a simple game?"

"I did when I was eight..."

"Let's just go," Izzie exclaimed and they followed her.

🤍⚕️☕️___________🏛🍾🤍

"Addison," Alison exclaims before she hugs her former boss the best she can with her thirty-eight week pregnant belly.

"Oh my God, your huge!" Addison exclaimed but then she realized how insulting that must be for a pregnant lady.  "I meant you've grown so much since I last saw you."

Alison laughs.

"I know what you meant.  You cut your hair!  It looks good."

"Oh thanks," she grins at the blonde.  "So any day now for baby Sloan to get here."

"Wait Sloan?" Naomi says as she knows there is only one man with that last name.  "Is Mark Sloan your baby daddy?"

"Baby daddy and fiance," Alison smiles proudly as she puts a hand on her bump.

"Wow, I didn't realize he was engaged or having a kid on the way," Naomi murmured quietly to herself but Alison still heard and frowned slightly which Addison noticed.  "I'm a friend of Mark's, Addison and Derek's," Naomi explained.  "I'm Naomi."

"Oh nice to you meet you," Alison shakes hands with her.  "I'm Alison.  I used to work with Addison and Derek is my best friend."

"Literally.  They talk to each other about everything," Addison interjected which made Alison laugh uneasily a little.

Addison detected the awkwardness and knew that she was going to talk to Alison about that later on.  Something must have happened between them and she was going to kill Derek if he said or did anything to hurt Alison.

Miranda then came in and had told Addison she cleared her schedule for the day and had introduced herself to Naomi.  From what Alison could gather about Naomi she already liked her.

"How is he?" Alison asked in concern.

"I don't know," Addison told them.

Just then Derek came out the sliding doors.

"He's groggy," Derek tells them all but then falters slightly as he sees Alison.  "But I don't think he is fully awake because he hasn't tried to kill me.  Her brother hates me."

This was the first time he had seen Alison since he said that to Mark and he was sure that he had told her.  Why wouldn't he?

"If he hasn't killed you yet I just might," Alison muttered under her breath but Miranda heard her and shot her a look.

"Ugh, people pick sides in a divorce, Derek," Addison explains to her ex-husband.

"He picked sides in the marriage," he shot back as he looked at Archer's charts.  "He first seized during sex with his girlfriend.  I wonder why she's not here."

"Oh she is," Naomi spoke up as Addison still felt weird about the whole thing and Derek turned around.

"Naomi?" He sounded surprised while they looked awkward.

"I'm going in there," Addison said and diverted back into Archer's room as fast as she could.

Alison and Miranda go in with her.  Since Alison was thirty-eight weeks pregnant, she and Mark both decided together that she would not be performing surgeries right now up until she gives birth.

"You and Archer?" Derek asks.

"No, well yeah.  I don't know, yeah.  I don't know what we are."

"How's Sam?"

"Sam's good," she smiles awkwardly.  "And um, how's Meredith?  Is that her name?"

"She's good," he smiles.

"Good.  What was that between you and Alison a few minutes ago?"

"I said something bad to Mark and she probably knows because it was about them as a couple," he admits.

"Wait, that's Mark's Alison?  How did I not put two and two together.  She looks like she's about to give birth soon."

"Any day now."

"Look at us," Naomi begins.  "Were standing here making polite conversation about your girlfriend.  You two are divorced, me and Sam are divorced.  And I'm with Archer sort of.  What the hell happened?  I mean, you wrote Addison a song, Derek."

"Can we just forget about the song?" He asked quietly not wanting to talk about this.  If Addison hadn't told Naomi what happened between them, then neither was he.  Naomi was after all Addison's friend first.  "Enough about the song."

"What?  You wrote her her own love song and you sang it to her at the wedding."

"Mark wrote it or Sam or somebody.  I don't remember who it was."

"I do.  I was drunk at the wedding but I remember thinking you guys were gonna last forever.  We were all going to last forever."

"Yeah," Derek agreed.

"You should call Sam," Naomi tells him.  "He misses you."

"Yeah," he agrees and Naomi smiles.

🤍⚕️☕️___________🏛🍾🤍

Callie was helping a husband (named Rob) who had gotten ran over by his wife when Alex came into the room.  Jen, the wife, found out she ended up having an aneursym and that's why she ran over him.  She thought she was going crazy at first but now that she knew she had an aneursym in her brain, she just wanted Dr. Shephard to operate on her and get it out as soon as possible.  Alison would normally check on Jen since she did fetal surgery, but since she was thirty-eight weeks pregnant, she was currently not doing any surgery at all.  Not to mention, she was now getting Braxton Hicks and was in no condition to do surgeries, which was unfortunate.

Jen was practically begging Alex to ask Dr. Shepherd to operate on her that day even though he was in an emergency surgery already.

"What was the emergency?" Callie asked Alex privately as she discarded of some things.

"Addison's brother," he tells her and leaves.

"Addison's here?" She asks in surprise.

"We were having dinner and he just passed out," Beth Whitman explained to the surgeons looking over her daddy.

"I am telling you, it's probably just my hernia," Michael tells his daughter.

"He has an inguinal hernia but it doesn't seem to be the source of the obstruction," Cristina told Richard.

"You know, honey, its going to take these doctors a long time to figure this out," Michael tells his daughter as Richard presses down on different areas of his stomach.  "Alright?  I'm fine here.  You've gotta go to work."

"He hates it when we try to help him," Beth tells the doctors.  "He's a lot like my second graders that way.  Okay, daddy you win.  You have my cell so call me if you need me," she tells him as she places a kiss on his cheek.

"Bye," he tells his daughter as she gathers her things and leaves before turning to the doctors.

After his daughter left, he told the two surgeons what was wrong with him and it made more sense instead of just a hernia.  He then proceeded to tell them to not tell his daughter as she has been kept in the dark the whole time since.  He loves his daughter and doesn't want her to see him like this.  She deserved to be happy after everything she went through with her previous heartbreak.

"Um, Doctor Yang is going to set you up with a CT with contrast.  Where have you been treated?  We will need your medical records."

"Columbia Hospital in Verona and Doctor Schulty," Owen answers himself as he enters Michael's hospital room who is stunned to see him.  "I um, I work here now," he tells Michael.  "Saw that you were in and I thought -"

"You waited until she left to come and say hello," Michael finished for him.  "That's just like you to face up to things like a man."

"You should really tell her about the cancer, Michael, she deserves to know," Owen tells him.

"You lost the right to tell me anything about her when you broke off your engagement in a two line email."

Cristina looks at him in disappointment and shock.  She didn't know he was engaged once.

🤍⚕️☕️___________🏛🍾🤍

"Our eyes met over the cadaver and I knew I had to have her," Naomi started out as she began to laugh and Meredith took off the electrodes hooked to Archer's forehead.

Addison was obviously feeling awkward about this situtation because this song was written for her from Derek on their wedding day.  And here Naomi was singing it with Derek's current girlfriend in here.  Addison made a side ways eye look to Meredith to try and get Naomi to stop singing, but it was pointless.

"What was the next line?" Naomi asked laughing.

"Can we talk about something else?" Addison asked awkwardly.

Not to mention they were now divorced and Namoi has known this for a while now.  So she wasn't sure why she was doing this.

"Had his mitrovalve grown too thick," Archer let out a laugh.

"Is that what made our cadaver so sick?" Naomi finished which made Archer laugh.

"Greatest love song of all time," Mark commented as he came into the room.

"Hey!" They all greeted him.

"Did you guys get to the part where Derek rhymes gross anatomy class with Addison's finances?  I wrote that line.  Oh, my bad," he said once he realized Grey was in here.

"No its fine," Meredith said.  "I think it sounds like a fine song."

"By the way, why didn't you tell us you were engaged and expecting a baby?" Naomi asked Mark.

Archer's eyes widened in shock.

"Are you fucking kidding me? Whose the lucky lady you knocked up? I've gotta meet her."

Meredith cringed a little at the way he talked about Alison but then stopped when she saw Mark smile so big to his friends.

"Doctor Alison Anderson," he said proudly. "Worked with Addison for a while when I first came on."

"No way," Archer asked amused. "Can you bring her in here to meet me before my surgery? You know so that I can pass along my condolescences..."

"Shut the hell up man," Mark teased.

"Alison is great. You'll definitely meet her before your surgery," Addison promised. "One of my best students."

"So I'm guessing she is neonatal then?" Archer asked.

"Fetal actually and works in peds," Addison stated proudly.

"Heard your gonna let Derek remove those little suckers from your brain," Mark said to Archer.

"He is," Addison told Mark.

"I hate surgery.  Especially brain surgery."

"Being a neurologist you probably see a lot of patients post-op who you know just scrambled eggs-"

Naomi shot him a look while Addison interjected.

"Alright you know what Mark?  Your not helping right now.  Were sitting here trying to convince him that surgery is-"

"Not an option," Derek interrupts and Mark is slightly uncomfortable only because of what he said the night before to him.  "According to these scans, the single cyst that you had in that CT has now multiplied by eight.  All clogged in the third ventricle.  There is no way I can surgically navigate through a mess like that.  Without rupturing one."

"So what does that mean?" Addison asked worried.

"Your in a room full of doctors, Addison," Archer spoke up.  "Who are all being very quiet right now.  I'm going to die.  That's what it means," he tells her as she holds his hand.

"Owen's ex-fiancé is here," Cristina tells Meredith.

"Owen was engaged before?!" Meredith exclaimed, somehow not believing it.

"What a dick," Alison commented as she couldn't help but overhear.  "Owen, I mean.  Did you know that Mark had friends who are here from New York?  We've been together over a year now and you would think he would mention them if they were that important to him.  Men," she huffed while Cristina looked amused and Meredith agreed with the blonde.

"Montgomery," Sam tells the front desk receptionist.  "Archer.  I'm a friend."

Miranda Bailey just so happened to be up there as well talking to a nurse when she parted ways and walked right up to him.

"I'm Doctor Miranda Bailey, I'm a friend of Addison's.  And which one are you?"

"I'm sorry?" He asked confused.

"There's Addison's brother, Archer's girlfriend is Addison's best friend who used to be married to Derek's best friend who Derek hasn't spoken to since the divorce."

"Right, right," Sam nodded his head as he knew where this was heading.  "That would be me.  The ex-husband.  Doctor Samuel Bennett."

"Sorry," Miranda said a little embarrassed.  "Well, I didn't think the ex-husband would show up at the ex-wives boyfriends bed side."

"Don't worry about it," he told her.  "Even I don't know why I'm here," he confessed as he began to awkwardly laugh but she didn't find it amusing.

"Third floor room 3420."

"Thank you," he tells her and begins to leave but then turns around when she calls his name.

"Doctor Bennett-"

"Uh, Sam," he tells her kindly.

"Doctor Shepherd is still studying the scans looking for a way to operate.  But it looks like a difficult case."

"Right," he nods his head in understanding.

🤍⚕️☕️___________🏛🍾🤍

"How are you feeling today?" Mark asked his wife as he rubbed her bump and they stood next to the nursing station.  He knew she had been having Braxton Hicks contractions lately and hoped that she hadn't had them today.

"Alright," she smiled up at her husband.  "He's been kicking up a storm today and active.  How have you been?  Did you see Addison's here?"

"Good, he better stay that way and not give you any false labor contractions today," he told her.  "Yeah, I actually saw her earlier.  I went into Archer's room and talked with them all."

"They seem great.  Why didn't you ever tell me about your friends from New York?"

"Because," he wrapped an arm from the side around her.  "I haven't talked to them since before I moved here.  I needed a clean slate.  But now talking to them again makes me wonder why I stopped talking to them.  I'm glad you met them," he smiled down at her and leaned forward to press his lips to hers but they were interrupted by their bubbly friends voice.

"Find Doctor Sloan, he's your patient.  Ask him his symptoms and diagnose him correctly to receive your next challenge.  What are your symptoms?" She asks him as Alison lets out a sigh and they both turn to little Grey.

"Tachycardia, angioedema, hypotension, severe chest and abdominal pain, difficulty breathing, throwing up-" he read from his note card.

"Anaphylactic shock!" She shouted before he could finish.

"Woah, woah, woah," George said from behind as he noticed Sadie cheating and Sadie rolled her eyes.  "Foul!"

"What?" Lexie asked confused as she hadn't seen Sadie come up behind her.

"You heard her answer!" George told Sadie.

"Well the whole hospital heard her answer," Sadie tried to answer back.

"But you should have kept a respectful distance," George says as hands Lexie her next task and cheers silently as he hands Mark a new card.  "Do you want to participate in this too since you aren't able to do surgeries right now?" George asked Alison.

"Sure, why not?" She replied and took a card as she read it over.

Symptoms for congestive heart failure.

"Let's resume play," George said as Lexie was excited and Sadie was pissed.

"You must have questions so ask," Owen says to Cristina as she's at the nurses station.

"When was his last polypectomy?  Since your familiar with the patient..."

"That's not what I meant," Owen let a frustrated sigh.

"I know what you meant," Cristina said back.

"Doctor Yang what are your symptoms?" Ryan asked Cristina.

"Now's not a great time," Owen said.

"Heavy feeling in the abdomen.  Accompanied by nausea and acute pulling sensation in the in the scrotum."

"Oh uh testicular cancer," Ryan answers and Cristina hands him the next task since he got it right and then he runs off.

"Cristina-"

"I have to get Mr. Whitman to CT," she says and avoids him.

"I wasn't doing anyone any good at school so -" Beth began to talk to Cristina and then she sees a familiar face that she hasn't seen in years.  Almost as if he weren't real standing in front of her.  "Owen?  I don't understand," Beth says with her voice full of emotion.  "What?"

"I work here," he says quietly for the first time having spoken to her since he ended their engagement.

"What do you mean?" She asks quietly and confused.  "What do you mean?" She asks again.

"Beth-"

"When did you get back?" She cuts him off and walks closer to him.  "I just saw your mom she didn't-"

Cristina watched the whole interaction from the side and was even in shock that his own mother didn't know he was back.  It was like she didn't know this Owen at all.  "I thought you were in Iraq.  I've been praying for you every night.  Every night I'm on my knees praying that you-your gonna make it back," she says now tearing up.  "That you'll make it another twenty-four hours.  That you'll make it home.  Owen your back," she cries as she wraps her arms around him and he's uncomfortable.

Instead of hugging her back, he looks like he's in pain.  All of the memories of his time in Iraq getting to him and he can't handle it.  So instead, he takes her arms gently and removes her from him as he walks away and Beth is left in shock.

"Morgan's been keeping me in the loop with everything going on with your pregnancy," Addison tells Alison.  "How've you been?"

"Ready for this baby to come out," Alison said with a laugh.  "But also enjoying this whole pregancy at the same time."

"Yeah, but I mean you have this new glow to you.  It's different than your pregnancy glow..." Addison trailed off as she studied Alison who had a nervous look to her face.

"Okay, Mark and I might have gotten married last night on a whim," Alison blurted out as covered her mouth with her hands and Addison let out a gasp.

"Alison Marie Anderson," Addison's smirk grew.  "I didn't know you had it in you," she threw her arms around her as Alison let out a noise as she was surprised by the hug but hugged Addison back nonetheless.  "Congratulations!"

"Thanks," Alison blushes slightly.  "But please don't tell anyone, especially Derek.  Were currently not speaking to him right now."

"Oh no," Addison frowned.  "What happened this time?"

"Oh you know the usual.  Saying how Mark has never really known what its like to be in love and even with me our relationship started out as sex."

"Last time I checked - so did his with Meredith," Addison tutted.  "When will he ever learn to just shut up?  I mean Mark's made so much progress since he's been with you.  Seriously - a changed man!  And who the hell cares how your relationship started?  All that matters is that you two love each other and your having a baby."

"Seriously, thank you, Addison.  You have no idea how much what you just said means to me.  You've made progress too and I hope you find every bit of happiness because you deserve it."

"Thanks," Addison gave her a small smile.  "As long as my brother makes this - that's what I need right now."

"I know Derek will do whatever is necessary to save your brothers life," Alison squeezed her hand.

Even though she was pissed at her best friend still, he was one of the best neuro surgeon's she knew.

"So you just left her there?" Alison asked Owen as they walked sat in one of the nicer chairs.  "She hasn't seen you in years and the last conversation you had with her was saying 'its over' over an email.  That's fucked up."

"I thought you weren't going to take sides," Owen said defensively.

They were sitting in front of the Roasterie Café in the hospital while Alison sipped on her strawberry lemonade smoothie.  Owen found Alison and pulled her away to talk about what happened earlier to get her perspective since he knew she came from a military family.

"That was before I knew the story," Alison argued back.  "She deserves some closure, Owen.  I think you can at least give her that.  But I get the whole PTSD thing and coming home a different man than when you left.  Feeling unworthy.  Even if it hurts her, I think you need to explain that to her and end things right with her this time.  It's your second chance to make things right.  Not very many people get that chance."

Derek pulls up Archer's scans again as he looks at them on the computer.  It seemed like Alison was avoiding him all day today, but why?

"Your wife's in the chapel praying," Sam says from the doorway as he looks at Derek and he looks up at his best friend.

"She's not my wife and she doesn't pray," he says back and Sam smiles big as Derek gets up and they hug each other.  "How are ya?"

"Hey," Sam greets him as they hug it out.  "You know, mid-life crisis.  I got an earring but the hole closed up the very next day."

"Oh that would have been a good look on you," Derek teased him.

"I met uh, Meredith," Sam tells him.

"She's not a mid-life crisis," Derek tells Sam.  "She's the real thing."

"That's great.  I'm happy for you man," Sam tells him genuinely.  "Happy for you," he says quietly.

"I should have called," Derek tells him.

"No!"

"I should have stayed in touch.  It's my faught."

"People move - they change.  You know, we all did," Sam says to him.  "But yeah - she's praying."

"Yeah, she's expecting a miracle," Derek tells him.  "I can't deliver one.  I've seen patients with one cyst in the ventricle maybe two.  He has eight," Derek tells him as Sam looks at the scans.  "There is no way I can get a scope in there without rupturing one.  There's too many."

"Maybe your just too close to it," Sam says as he begins to think of a different way.  "What if there were just one?  Explain to me how you would remove just that one," he points to the cyst on the screen and Derek begins to think.

Maybe there is a way after all.

"So this is the famous Doctor Alison Anderson that I keep hearing about?" Archer says impressed as Addison brought her in to his room to meet him.

"If its all good things yes, if not, Addison picked the wrong person," Alison told him with a smirk on her face as he let out a laugh.

"I like you.  So whose the guy who locked you down?" Archer asked as he looked at her obvious bump.

"I think you know him..Mark Sloan," she said his name and Archer's jaw dropped as he looks at Mark.

"Your shitting me?" He questioned not believing it as Alison let out a big laugh along with everyone else.  "Why didn't you say anything?  I mean a woman like you... I would show you off."

"Well thanks," Alison took the compliment even if he made her seem like some kind of trophy wife.  Addison had told her not to take offense to anything her brother said before she introduced them.

"Alright Archer," Derek walked into the room interrupting the conversation and looking at Alison awkwardly before turning back to Archer.  "We need to create room in the ventricle so I can maneuver the scope.  By defalting each cyst the scope can remove them one by one."

"The cyst will rupture," he counters back.

"I'm gonna grab each one with forceps pull them up to the port and suction out the fluid," Derek explains to him.

"The suction would have to precise," Archer says still not liking it.

"It will be," Derek says.

"They say that sometimes doctors can be the worst patients," Alison says and they all turn to look at her.  "Do the surgery, Archer.  I would trust Derek with my life.  He knows what he's doing.  You asked for a miracle, Addison.  This is your miracle."

"You can't do it," Archer says.

"Coward?"

"Excuse me?" He questioned.

"I said your a coward.  A coward by trade.  Your a neurologist.  You guys feed off of us.  Refer your patients to us.  Let us assume the responsibility and if God forbid something happens, well, I'll tell you what.  I can assume the responsibility.  The question is can you?"

They had just put Archer under anesthesia and were now operating on him as Sam came in.  Alison was eating her sour patch watermelons as she sat on the opposite side of Miranda.

"Peds surgery fellowship," Sam read the forms Miranda was filling out.

"Yep.  Just when I'm almost done with my general surgery residency.  Crazy huh?"

"No," Sam disagrees.  "Just uh, surprising.  You don't seem like a peds person to me."

"Why not?" She asks confused.

"Because you don't smile," Sam says to Miranda.  "Peds people smile."

"I smile.  Well, I'm not going to smile right now but I do smile.  I smile frequently."

Alison leans forward and catches Sam attention shaking her head and he understands what her lips say:

no she doesn't.

Sam laughed quietly and Alison leaned back in her chair.

"She's uh, considered the nazi around here," Alison tells Sam under her breath but Bailey still hears her.  "So I would watch out if I were you..."

"Good to know," Sam smirked at the trading secrets thing.

"Why are you telling him things only interns should know?" Miranda raised her voice to try to intimidate Alison but it doesn't work.

"I bet you are Peds," Sam tells Alison.

"How'd you guess?" Alison asked with a smile.

"Because you smile," he pointed out.

"Guilty," Alison let out a laugh.  "Neonatal and fetal surgery.  I worked with Addison Montgomery when she was here."

"Addison Montgomery?" Sam's eyes widened as he realized this was the Alison that he had heard all those stories about.  "Your Alison Anderson?" He says in shock as he lets out a laugh.

"Yeah, I am," she says a little confused.  "How did you know my name?"

"Friend of Addison's," Sam introduces himself.  "That's actually why I'm here right now.  For her brother," he nods his head down into the OR from the surgery they were watching.

"Nice to meet you," Alison smiled as they shook hands.

"You as well," Sam smiled back.

"Hey, he under yet?" Mark comes in and asks Sam.

"Yeah," Sam tells him as Mark looks over his shoulder and glances at Miranda's paperwork.

"You going into Peds?"  Mark asks as he glances at the paperwork.  "Huh, I don't see it," Mark said under his breath which caused Sam to let out a big laugh.

"Why does everyone keep saying that?" Miranda asked annoyed.  "I have a child.  I'm familiar with children.  I'm going to be an excellent pediatric surgeon.

"Your gonna want to keep that temper in check around the kids," Sam tells her as Mark sees his wife.

"Hey sweetheart," Mark greets his wife with a kiss leaving Sam in shock.

"You and him?  How did I not know?" He asks turning his attention to Mark.

"Yeah, why didn't you tell him, Mark?" She teases him and Sam laughs as he throws his head back.

He liked Alison and thought she was good for Mark.  How could he not tell his friends that he was engaged?  And expecting a baby.  He feels like he's missed so much of his life since he moved out to Seattle.  Seems like the move was good for him.

"Weird seeing Archie on that table," Mark says in disbelief and Sam agrees.

"Okay everybody," Derek glances up in the gallery.  "It's a beautiful day to save lives.  Let's go."

Michael ended up having a complication and needed emergency surgery while Derek began operating on Archer.  Jen was with her husband as she awaited her surgery but she was getting impatient.  She didn't like that Doctor Shepherd told her she had an aneurysm and basically seemed like he forgot about her.  She was going stir crazy just having to wait for this surgery.

Derek performed a successful surgery on Archer, as Alison knew he would.  Lexie won the competition of course.

"I knew I liked her when I met her, but come on man.  It's like you got this whole new life we know nothing about," Sam said seeming upset to Mark and Alison couldn't blame him.  If she were being honest she was pissed that Mark didn't seem to have told his friends about them and their baby. Was it a red flag?  Did he not want this?  She tried to calm down but her emotions during this pregnancy had been all over the place for the most part.

"It was a hard surgery," Owen starts off to Beth.  "Some of the bowel was dead as we suspected but we were able to remove the disease part successfully.  He's in recovery and you can see him in about an hour."

"You don't even look like yourself," Beth tells him.

"Excuse me?"

"You look hard.  Look, I-I know it wasn't easy over there.  I hear people come back and I know you can't just come back and be normal right away."

Owen stands up, not ready to have this talk.

"He'll be asleep for a couple hours but you can see him now."

"Two lines in an email," Beth explains to him.  "I deserve more than that."

"Beth your dad has colorectal cancer.  He's already been through radiation, treatment and bowel removals.  He didn't tell you because he didn't want to burden you.  He'd like to spare you any pain.  Anymore pain," he told her and then left.

Alison was currently in the nursery as she was folding some of his clothes.  Seeing as she was thirty-eight weeks pregnant and getting closer to her due date, she wanted to be ready for when he came.

His name was in a wooden plaque above his crib:

Liam Christopher

It felt so surreal that sometimes Alison wondered if this was all a dream.  Mark and Alison would both tell you that they would have never pictured their lives turning out the way it did but they were grateful to the universe for bringing them together.  She couldn't wait until her little guy was here.  To finally hold him and love him.

Yeah, she was angry with Derek at the moment for what he said about her relationship with Mark but she wasn't gonna let anyone spoil the love she felt for her son.  Not now, not ever.  And that included his name.

"I know what your thinking," Mark commented and Alison gave him a pointed look.

"And what do you think I'm thinking?" Alison asked as she folded more of their baby's clothes in the drawers.

"Why didn't I tell my friends I was engaged with a baby on the way."

"Okay, you knew exactly what I was thinking," she lets out a huff.  "Why didn't you?"

She was currently thirty-eight weeks pregnant and she was ready to be done being pregnant now.  She couldn't even see her feet anymore.  Alison was tired of her feet swelling and being big.  Mark loved it but he wasn't the one carrying a baby.

"Honestly, I haven't spoken to them much since I moved here.  I meant to tell them, I did," he raises his hands up in surrender.  "Time just slipped away.  Do you forgive me?" He asks his fiancé as he walks towards her and put one hand on her low back and the other on her stomach as they feel their son kick him.  Best feeling in the world.

"I get it.  I forgive you.  But you are inviting them to the wedding right?" Alison asked as her one eyebrow raised in question.

"Already did," he grinned as he wrapped his arm around her.

"Where do you want to go on our honeymoon?" Mark asked his wife as he rubbed her pregnant belly after putting on the stretch mark oil on her.

"What if we did something around here for the weekend?" Alison asked as she enjoyed the feeling of his hands soothing her.

Mark placed kisses on her jawline and trailed down to her neck as his beard scratched against her skin.  "Just you and me... no interruptions... and letting me show you how much I love you."

She shuddered underneath his touch.

"Y-yeah," Alison nodded her head in agreement.  "Sounds amazing.  I love you, Mark."

"And I love you, Alison," he kissed her as she then lowered him on their bed and sank onto him as they became one.

"She knows nothing," George said as Sadie was in Richard's office.  "She's a danger to the patients and so I told her she could tell the chief or I could," George told Meredith.  "I wanted to let you know because your her friend.  Although for the life of me, I don't know how the two of you were ever friends," he tells her and leaves as Sadie comes out of Richard's office.

"What happened?" Meredith asked.

"I quit," she tells her.  O'Malley's a little knock.  I'd rather be deemed a quitter than a cheater."

"Did you cheat your way into the program?" Meredith asked.

"Listen, I'm not book smart," Sadie explains.  "You know that.  I learn on my feet.  I thought if I came to where you were you could-"

"Pull you through?"

"We've seen each other through a lot," Sadie says.

"Were not twenty-five sleeping our way through Europe anymore."

"We could though," Sadie tells her.  "Think about it.  We could get on a plane tonight.  We could go -"

"No," Mereith tells her sharply.  "I can't.  I have to work.  I can't just-"

"Wow, you sucked the life right out of you," Sadie said in disbelief.  "The Meredith I used to know-"

"Is right here," Meredith finished.  "I'm here.  I just don't want to sleep my way through Europe anymore.  I want to be here.

Mark ended up booking a suite at the Mayflower Park Hotel for the weekend and they would be staying in the Spa King Suite.  It included city views of Seattle, a deep jacuzzi tub, mini fridge, luxury robes, a high definition flat-screen TV and a King bed.  It was an older hotel made in 1927.  But it was fully refurnished

"Mark, I love this," Alison told her husband after he had set her down.

How he was able to carry her being thirty-eight weeks pregnant was beyond her.  She knew he was strong, I mean, just look at him.  Mhmm mhmm.  She licked her lips as she looked at her new husband as she felt her heart pounding out of excitement.

He wrapped his arms around her tightly from behind and sucked the hollow of her neck.  She turned around to press her lips to his pink lips.  His hands traced their way down to her butt, gripping it and kneading it firmly before lifting her up gently and setting her on the pristine white counter.  He was careful of her big bump that was in the middle of the them but this just meant they had found new and exciting ways to have sex.

"Even though I love this," he said in reference to her sexy lingerie that she had decided to wear underneath her wedding gown.  It was a lace and mesh button babydoll set as well as matching panties in a light baby blue for her something blue.  His fingers grazed the edge of her panties as she let out a moan at the feeling as it created goosebumps on her arms.  "It has to come off," he said huskily as he stared at her like she was something delicious.

What was your favorite part of this chapter?  And least favorite?

I purposefully left a lot of Jen out in this chapter because while I loved her at first the next times I rewatched this episode she started to annoy me.

also I did not sadly come up with the words for the wedding ceremony.  I found them on google lol because I did not know what to write for this kind of wedding lol.

Not sure when the next update will be because I'm in school for medical assistant and have a job.  so please be patient and nice and comment on my chapters.  and like.  it makes my day.
