A Whole New World

"Not bad, right?" Callie asked Erica as they walked into her new apartment.

"It's great," she smiled at the Latina and laid a hand on her back which made Callie nervous.  "Do you want to go on a date with me?"

"Like a date date?"

"Yeah, you know - a nice restaurant, candlelight, bottle of wine.  At the end of the night I try to take your clothes off," she smiles the whole time while explaining what they would do.

"Oh, okay," Callie let out a laugh.  "That would be a date."

*

Alison woke up that morning with a throbbing pain on the side of her head as her eyes fluttered open which made her let out a groan.  Getting up, she went and got a Tylenol and some water, hoping it would help her before Mark came home to give her a neck massage.

Whenever this happened during her pregnancy, she had to cancel work for three days which sucked but she knew that she could not physically give her all to her patients when she got them.  Even just a car ride could make her migraine worse.  Mark had called Richard and told him what was happening and allowed her to take a few days off until she felt better.  She hated having to do this to her patients but she would feel even worse if she went to work and wasn't able to give her all.  If anything, she was glad she didn't have any surgeries planned this week.

Derek: Meredith's roommates are driving me insane.

Alison let out a small giggle as she looked at the text and began typing something back.  The three dots showed up showing Derek was writing more so she stopped.

Derek: Izzie knocked on the door needing money.  Who does that?

Alison: Well more importantly what was the money for?

Derek: Pizza...

Alison: Oh, I would so do that...

Derek: ALI!!!

Alison: You are talking to a pregnant lady right now whose craving is pizza and cheesy breadsticks from Dominos.

Derek: You would do that even if you weren't pregnant.

Alison: *sends gif of Stephanie Tanner saying 'how rude.'*

Derek: Going to miss you today, flower.

Alison: I'll miss you too, blue eyes.  Go save lives today for the both of us.

Since Alison wasn't going into work today, she was going to take it easy.  Meaning, limiting her screen time and doing a whole lot of self-care today.  Mark kissed her lips letting each other know how much they love one another and he was off to work today without his fiance.

*

"It's days like today I wish Alison were here," Derek let out a sigh as he met up with Mark and Mark smirked at him as they had just gotten their coffees.

"Why?  Having lady troubles?"

"I don't know what it is with Meredith," Derek ran his fingers through his hair.  "I didn't read the diary, I just put it on the table."

"I would have read it," Mark admitted and Derek shook his head.

"Every time I do something she freaks out," Derek confessed as they began to walk.  "I move into the house - she freaks out."

"Well if Alison were here she would say to stay out of Meredith's things unless she gives you permission.  You've known Meredith for years now and how her mother is a touchy subject for her."

"Wow, you know you sound just like her."

"I live with the woman," he grinned.  "I know her better sometimes then she knows herself."

"Right," Derek said not convinced at that statement.

Sometimes Derek was jealous of the relationship Mark and Alison had.  He would never admit it to Mark as he would hold it over Derek for forever but he has been thinking about confiding in Alison.  Sometimes he even wonders if Meredith is even worth all of the relationship drama he goes through.

"There's a very real possibility she kicks me out within a week," Derek told Mark as they walked back into the hospital.  "I'm not letting go of the trailer," he finished as Mark laughed, glad to have his best friend back.

*

"Hey," Meredith smiles at Mark, not knowing of his conversation he had with Derek earlier.  "Where's Alison today?"

"She's home sick," Mark pouted a little.

"You seem a little lost without her," Meredith pointed out with a small smile, finding it kind of cute and different for him.  "You okay?"

"I'm good but it feels a little weird when she's not here," he confessed and left just as George, Erica and Richard came up to Meredith.

"Do we have this kid under control or do I have to call social services?" Richard asked the group.

"He won't do anything like that again," Erica promised Richard and he wasn't convinced.

"He better not.  I had a ceiling fall last week.  I don't need a series of false alarms.  This place looks ridiculous enough already.  It's days like today I wish Alison were here.  She would know what to do with that kid," he told the trio and left.

"Keep the ankle biter under control," Erica told Meredith.

"I'll sedate him if I have to," the blonde told her not looking her in the eye, understanding why Alison didn't like Erica.

"Good and bone up on your pulmonary autograph.  I don't want to spend the day bathed in your ignorance as well as your incompetence," Erica told Meredith and left.

"Oh she hates me," Meredith told George as they walked away.  "Not that I care anyway.  I'd much rather work with Alison today than her."

"What did you mean we will sedate him if we have to?" George asked his blonde best friend.

"I was just trying not to be warm and fuzzy," Meredith explained.  "I don't mean sedate him, I just mean babysit him.  It's your last day as an intern think about how you'll be to move on."

"Hey," Erica called out to Callie when she saw her.  "I'm going to be in the OR until seven.  Is eight too late for dinner?"

"No, but if you need to reschedule or cancel..." Callie trailed off, in a way hoping that Erica would cancel their date.

"Come on, are you kidding?" Erica gave a small smile.  "I made a reservation at Canto.  I even picked out an outfit.  We are doing this."

All Callie could do was give a small smile until Erica left.

*

"Hey mom," Alison picked up her phone once she saw it was her mom calling her and put her on speaker.  Since the couple had told her family that she was pregnant, her parents had been checking in with her more frequently.

"Hey, Mark wrote me and said you weren't feeling good.  Everything okay?"

"Yeah, I'm just having a really bad migraine," Alison explained to her mom and she understood.

She knew that Alison had gotten them before and how she would have to cancel work for them.  Madelyn hated knowing that her baby wasn't feeling good but her and Gabriel were so excited to become grandparents again.

"Aw no," her mom pouted.  "Have you taken anything to help it yet?"

"Yeah, I took some Tylenol and just kept the apartment dark.  I've also been trying to get a lot of sleep too.  It's been helping."

"Oh good," Madelyn lets out a sigh of relief.

"How are you and dad?" Alison asked her mom.

"Busier than ever," Madelyn then went on to describe their work and how Adam and Katie were with their daughter.

*

"Move!" Bailey yells at the residents and they scurry off.  "They have the nerve to be indignant about how they are not allowed to be on their specialties anymore.  They don't have specialties," she says with frustration evident in her tone as she flips through patient charts and talks to Callie.  "They should be grateful they're even allowed in the -" she stops and looks at Callie when she sees her looking onward.  "Are you listening to me?"  Callie turns to look at her nervously then looks around them to make sure no one is listening.

"I'm going on a date with Erica Hahn," she tells Bailey and her mouth opens up in shock.  "And uh, that's awkward because um, she's a colleague and because she's an attending, also she doesn't get along with Alison, and because she's a she.  There's been kissing but uh, no touching.  What if I'm not into it?  What if I'm horrible at all of that stuff?  Down south?  The border?  'Cause I've never seen the border.  But a female?  I've never even been over the northern mountain.  You know what I'm saying?"

Bailey just stares at her in shock and Callie is embarrassed.

"We're gonna pretend this never happened," she says and leaves.

*

"Somebody paged me?" Mark asks as he walks through the hospital doors to the clinic.

"I have a patient with tenderness and erythema from her upper chest left arm.  I'm thinking she needs irrigation and debridement," Cristina explains to him and he lets out a sigh as he puts on his gloves.

"She says you may have to amputate my arm," the patient says nervous.

"It's not flesh-eating bacteria," he tells the patient.  "It's probably just dermatitis."

"Oh no, no, no but look and see how the skin is denuded?  Research shows it could be surgical-"

"It's wet.  It's dry.  Dry-wet," he explained as he listened to her.  "Go up to dermatology and get a Cerave cream and never page me again to hustle a surgery," he tells her and leaves.  "God I miss Alison," he tells himself.

Cristina made her way up to the dermatology floor to get the prescription.

"Hi," the woman at the front desk greets Cristina with a relaxed smile on her face.  "I'm Doctor Pepman.  Can I help you?"

"Where can I get some CeraVe cream?" She asks the dermatologist.

"Oh the nurses are busy so I can go get it," she explains to her.  "Would you like some water with raspberries while you wait?"

"Uh, yeah sure," the resident tells the doctor.

As she begins to pour a man comes over as he starts to massage her left hand.

"Hi Chris," Doctor Pepman greets him and Cristina just stares as Daisy hands Cristina the water and notices her staring at him.  "Oh, don't mind Chris.  He's a massage therapist."

"A what?" Cristina asks shocked.

"Our hands do such delicate work, it's important they stay healthy so we have Chris on staff and he massages us when we have a spare moment.  You know he even massages another doctor you work with - Doctor Alison Anderson, since she's having a baby," she says excited.

"Every attending gets their hands massaged at work?  And why does Doctor Anderson get a massage and we don't?" She exclaims.

"Oh no, the dermatology attending's have another therapist.  Alison gets a massage because her fiance, Mark Sloan, requested it.  Everyone loves them up here.  He wants her and baby to be healthy and happy during surgery.  They're like couple goals," she tells Cristina with a smile.  "Chris just works on the residents and Alison," she finishes and Cristina raises her eyebrows in surprise.

"You're a resident?"

"First year," Daisy smiles.  "And loving it."

*

"So, I'll make an incision here and here and peel down the the face," Mark explains to Derek as they look at the computer screen.

"Crack open the skull and pull the tumor right out," Derek finishes.

"We need to keep a close eye on the optic nerve.  Somebody twitches and this guys blind," Mark tells Derek.  "Which one of your roommates will be assisting?"

"Hmm, Karev," Derek told Mark as he had his arms crossed and Mark grunted.  "Still don't like him?"

"Alison forgave him but I don't trust him," he tells him.

"She's too pure for this world, you know that."

"That I do," he agrees with their person and then Izzie barges in and talks loudly.

"Doctor Shepherd, I want in on this case.  This is my patient.  Alex stole him from me.  Remember what I was telling you-"

"That sounds more believable," Mark said as he looked up at them and Derek gave him a pointed look and looked back at the computer.

"Doctor Stevens let's be clear.  In this hospital, I am not your roommate.  I don't give a crap about your personal problems.  I have a resident and I don't need another one."

"Doctor Shepherd," the devil himself opened the door.

"Yes?" Derek asked him.

"The patients in his room if you want to go ahead with the procedure."

"Right," Derek gives Izzie a pointed look and leaves.

"Son of a bitch," Izzie tells Alex who smiles at her.

"Cry to somebody who cares," he gloats and shuts the door.

"This is my case," Izzie tells Mark.  "It isn't fair."

"Surgeries like the wild west," Mark tells Izzie as he gets up from his seat, hoping she understands what he's saying.  "You didn't get your claim from Montana because you put it in the bank.  You got it because you put a fence around it and shot it the ass off anyone who walked by.  Karev's a cowboy.  You're not.

"What's going on?" Meredith ran into the dermatology department to find Cristina sitting on the couch.

"Look," Cristina points at the other doctors.

"You paged me 911.  I'm in the middle of studying for Hahn's pulmonary autograft," Meredith says slightly annoyed.

"No, no, no, look," Cristina says and pulls Meredith down to her level to sit on the couch and points to the doctors again.  "They are residents.  That one made a seven layer cake for that one's birthday from scratch.  And that one - his girlfriend is taking him skiing this weekend.  Oh and this one is the best.  She gets to go and get a facial.  And she told her attending.  And her attending was happy because they facials."

Just then a muscular guy came out carrying a massage chair.

"Oh and get this - the hospital has hired someone to rub them full time.  Not only that but you know Doctor Anderson?  Yeah, she gets massages too because Doctor Sloan requested it.  You know, since she's pregnant."

"I bet their boyfriends don't go around their closets digging in them," Meredith grumped as they looked at the doctors getting massages.

"Never."

"I told Hahn I can do a pulmonary artery re-anatomosis," Meredith tells Cristina who begins to laugh.

"You don't," Cristina said, smiling.

"I know.  I looked it up.  He's eight and has got tiny little arteries."

"Okay, snag me some of those grapes over there and I'll teach there.  Oh and then find Doctor Daisy Pepman and ask her for a suture kit."

"Doctor Daisy Pepman?" Meredith questions.

"She's a resident," Cristina smiles. "She pours free drinks because she has time for that kind of thing and I like saying her name."

"So was that hyphenated or did her parents name her Daisy?" Meredith jokes and Cristina takes offense.

"N-no mocking," Cristina says as she puts her hand out which surprises Meredith.  "No mocking in derm.  Only warmth.  Light."

She's officially gone crazy.

"What do you think of the new place?" Callie asked Mark and he looked at it impressed.

"This is nice," he comments as he moves his head and looks around.  "Really nice."

"I know right?  I love it so much more than the old place I lived in with Cristina," she says and leaves as she leaves him behind and he looks at it, thinking that he needs a place with Alison and their son.

After Mark had gotten off work and back from Callie's, he went to the mall and bought Alison a Sephora gift card because he had no way in hell knowing what she liked and didn't like and he also went to Louis Vuitton and bought her a new handbag.  The sales women and men were always so pleasant to Mark whenever he went into the luxury store.  He spent about an hour in the store, looking at all different ones they had.  Ultimately, he ended up buying two of the Neverfull MM bag because it would be a great diaper bag for the baby and she could have one just for her.  He hoped that by buying her these gifts it would soften the blow of buying an apartment as well.

He knew that in the time that they had been in a relationship he had rarely bought her things but he also knew when he did she loved them.  He was hoping for the same outcome today.

"Hi bubs," Alison greeted her fiance as he opened the door and found her in the kitchen with her fruit bowl.

"Hey," his light blue eyes lit up when he spotted the shorter blonde and bent down to kiss her and then kissed her small bump which made her smile.  "I got you something," he told her and brought the Starbucks.

"You got me Starbucks?" Alison replied as she took the iced guava passionfruit drink along with a warmed pumpkin bread loaf.  "You're literally the best.  I love you, thank you," she told him as she gently pressed her hand on his cheek affectionately and kissed him as he hummed against her lips.

"I love you too," he murmured against her lips and kissed her once more.  "That's not all I have for you though."

"Mark," Alison whined slightly as she put her fruit back on her plate and dried her hands with the napkin.  "You didn't have to get me anything."

"Well, technically half of it is for you and the other is for our baby," he said.

"What do you mean?" Alison asked smiling a little more.

He went into the kitchen and brought over three bags.  She immediately recognized them and a her mouth fell open as she was shocked.

"Mark!  Please tell you didn't..."

"Oh come on, you love it when I surprise you," he teased with a smirk at the double meaning and she swatted his arm playfully.

Alison opened up the small Sephora bag which held a Sephora gift card and she grinned knowing she was running out of some things that she needed to buy again.  With her being pregnant now, her skin was reacting to her old skincare and she knew she needed some new items.  After she had done a ton of research, she already had an idea of what she wanted to buy.  Next, she spotted the two Louis Vuitton bags and part of her was nervous with how much he spent on her and baby but the other part of her was excited.  Alison pulled out the box and noticed the LV that was on the box as she opened it up.  Inside was a Neverfull MM bag.

"Mark, are you serious?" She exclaimed with excitement.

"I got the same one for our son," he told her with a smile on his face.  "Figured you could use it as his diaper bag."

"It's a very expensive diaper bag," she let out a laugh.  "But thank you so much.  I love you," she told him as she placed her hand on his freshly shaven cheek and kissed him.

"Love you too," he told her and kissed her barely there baby bump.

She was now twenty-eight weeks pregnant.  Their baby boy was the size of lettuce.  He was kicking up a storm and while Mark loved it, Alison could do with very minimal of it.  She loved feeling their baby boy too but sometimes he kicked so hard where it knocked the wind out of her and she felt out of breath.

"Also don't be bad at me," he said cautiously as he played with his hands.

"Uh oh," Alison let out a cute little laugh as her eyes sparkled.  "That's never a good sign when you start out with that..."

"Ali," he whined and she chuckled.

"Okay, okay, sorry.  Please continue."

"I put an offer on an apartment for us," he announced with a big smile on his face but it dropped when she didn't say anything and he furrowed his eyebrows.  "Why don't you seem happy?"

"Because that's a pretty big thing to do by yourself, Mark," she exclaimed as she put a hand on her forehead and then let it drop to her side.  "I mean - that's something we should decide on together."

"Well that's what I was going to do today," he smiles proudly.

"What do you mean?  You already put the offer on already," she frowned.

"I wanted it to be a surprise," he said with a pout as he jutted out his lower lip and Alison felt bad so she leaned over and kissed him, taking him by surprise.

"You know, you can be very sweet when you want to be.  I'm sorry, it's pregnancy hormones," she apologized.  "Can we look at it today?"

"Of course," he gave her a small smile and put his hand on her back as he gently massaged it.  "I actually booked at appointment already and we're scheduled at two."

"That's in thirty minutes!" She said with surprise as her eyes grew wide which made him chuckle.

"Yeah," he nodded his head.  "Come on.  We can make a day out of it.  We can go see the apartment, then go shopping and out to eat at your favorite restaurant."

"Now that you mention it, I am really craving Italian food at The Pink Door," she said as her eyes shined with excitement.

"Well let's go," Mark exclaimed which made her laugh and she brought the Sephora gift card along with her new Louis Vuitton purse which she had switched all of her items from her other purse to the new one.

Mark was happy to see Alison feeling better from how she was a few days ago.  He hated seeing her sick during this pregnancy and though he knew he it was normal, it didn't mean he had to like it.  Most of the time he didn't even see her sick because she hid it so well from him, but he heard about it later from her.

*

The couple walked into the doors of the apartment building where Mark had just received a call saying that his offer was accepted and that he and his fiance could move in right away as the people who lived there previously were already gone.

"So, what do you think?" Mark asked Alison with a nervous smile as she hadn't really given any indication the whole time that she loved the place.

"I love it," Alison gave her fiance a big smile.

"Really?" He acted surprised which made her laugh.

"Why are you so surprised?"

"Because I thought you might hate it..."

"Mark, knowing your taste, I could never hate something.  If anything its very sweet of you to think of our future family," she told him as she walked up to him and grabbed his hands in hers as she stood on her tip toes and pressed her lips to his.  "I love you."

"I love you too," he told her as he looked down at her with a smile on his face every time he thought of their future together.  A future he never thought would be possible for him.

"So we can move in tomorrow if we want?" Alison asked as her eyes lit up and Mark let out a laugh.

"Pretty much.  Management said we can move in at anytime.  I even got the keys," he told her as he pulled them out of his pocket.

"When did you get those?"

"When you went to the bathroom," he smirked.

"Oh, right," he nodded her head and looked around the place one last time before they left.

*

Since their engagement dinner at The Pink Door, they had been coming back to the restaurant as regulars who knew the whole staff who worked there.  Mark parked the car as he found a spot almost immediately since it wasn't super during the day.

"This is so good," Alison smiled as they had gotten their food and were eating.

"So good," he agreed with her.

"Excuse me," Alison heard a woman screech and she shuddered as this was not the type of restaurant to be loud and disrespectful at.  Mark tensed as well as he froze mid-drink.  "Where is your manager?  This food is terrible and the staff is horrid!  I can't get anyone to refill my wine."

The hostess cleared his throat before speaking.

"Ma'am, I'm sorry but our limit is two bottles of wine," he replied in a calm voice.

Now it made sense to Alison.  This woman was drunk and it was not a good look for her, especially in a restaurant like this one.

"I have to help," Mark told his fiance.  "I'm sorry."

She reached her hand over the table and squeezed his in reassurance.

"Go, it's okay," she told him and he gave a her a smile before getting up and going to the other table.

"Ma'am," Mark murmured quietly so that only the woman and the hostess could hear.  "From further embarrassing yourself, why don't you come with me?  We can get you cleaned up.  I'm a doctor."

Alison couldn't hear what her fiance was saying but she could tell that the woman was flattered that a man like Mark was speaking to her.  No matter the woman's age or the fact that she was married, the fact that a man like Mark was saving this woman from further humiliation was like a God in that woman's eyes.

Neither Mark nor Alison knew that this woman was on the chair committee for a prestige scholarship award and that her husband was a wealthy real-estate agent.  Of course they knew of her husband, whose name was Christopher Bamford.  He was possibly the  go-to real-estate agent in the city of Seattle.  The woman's name who Mark was saving was Claudia Bamford.  She was older than Alison - in her late thirties and they had four kids together.  She wondered what could have happened that caused her to act this way.

"Alison," Mark called his fiancé's attention and she set her napkin on the table and left to go follow them, while ignoring the stares of those still watching the scene.  He leans in quietly to his pregnant fiance.  "Can you make sure you help her out?  Maybe take her to the woman's restroom to get freshened up?"

"Yeah," Alison nods her head with a small smile towards the woman.  "Missus -"

"Claudia," the woman in question answered as she swayed a little.

"Claudia why don't you follow me?"

"Okay," the woman slurred her speech slightly and Alison helped the woman to the bathroom as the waiter let out a breath and thanked Mark as everyone went back to normal.

"You must think I'm a fool," Claudia Bamford said with a sigh as she sat on the counter.

"No ma'am," Alison shook her head as she took a paper cloth, wet it and applied it to the patients forehead.

"I would if I were in that restaurant and witnessed that.  You see I just got a phone call that my mother passed away," she said solemnly and tears were streaming down her cheeks.

"I'm so sorry.  That must be very hard."

"It is," she nodded her head.  "Especially when I was closer with her than my father."

While Alison could admit she didn't know what it was like to not have two loving parents, she was always a great person to listen to and sympathize with.  She knew when to shut up and listen to people's problems which is why people loved coming to her when they were troubled.  Alison had given Claudia some Pepto-Bismol tablets along with a small Gatorade bottle to drink that she had in her purse.

"She was the most beautiful person," Claudia cried and leaned into Alison as she cried on her shoulder.

"It's okay.  It's going to be okay.  I know it might not seem like it will be but it will," Alison comforted the woman.

About thirty minutes later, Claudia was calmed down and more sobered up when Mark popped his head in the women's bathroom.

"Safe for me to come in?" He asked he peeked his head through the door which made Alison give a small smile to him.

"You're good.  It's just us in here."

"Good," he nodded his head with a small smile.  "Ready to get home?" He asked Claudia.

"My husband will have a fit when he hears about what happened today," she let out a deep sigh and Alison wiped her tears.

"He doesn't hit you does he?" Alison asked concerned.

"Oh no," she waved her hand.  "Nothing of that sort.  I just mean he's going to be worried about me.  I'm ready to go home now, but I need to tip the waitresses and waiters I was rude to first."

"Okay," the couple agreed and Claudia went to the staff to explain and give them a gracious tip.

"You believe her?  I mean about her husband," Mark asked his fiance.

"I do," Alison nodded her head with a small smile.

"Sorry about today.  I know it's not the lunch either of us had in mind but I couldn't let her embarrass herself any further."

"Mark, you don't have to apologize.  That's one of the many reasons why I love you," she told him as she looked at him in his light blue eyes and leaned on her tip toes to kiss him which made him smile into the kiss.

"I'm ready," Claudia announced as she came back and the couple stopped kissing and turned to look at her with a small smile as they held hands.

"Let's go," Mark told her.

"You can ride in the front seat with Mark, Claudia," Alison told the woman.

"Oh no," she waved a hand.  "I couldn't possibly..."

"It's really okay," Alison assured her and Claudia took her up on the offer as she told Mark the directions to her home and thanked the couple.  She also told them that if they ever needed any help with finding a new home to get in touch with her husband and gave them his business card.

*

After their lunch they went to shop stopping at Sephora first so Alison could spend money from the gift card Mark bought for her.  Walking through the mall, she felt out of breath.

"You okay?" Mark asked concerned.

"I'm fine other than the fact I feel like I've ran ten miles," she commented dramatically which made him laugh.

They were holding hands as they walked in the store as they browsed the aisle's.  Instead of some of the other guys who were in the makeup store who seemed uninterested, Mark was the opposite.  By now he had watched Alison get ready thousands of times and almost knew her routine by heart which was a little scary but also cute to her.

Before they left they also went into Rainforest Cafe to order what she called a snack since it was from the appetizer menu to go because for some reason Alison was craving their chicken quesadillas and some other items from their menu.

*

"Still no word on the test?" Lexie asked George as they sat outside and he made a face.  "George I'm sure you passed."

"It'll be okay," he tried to convince the both of them.  "You're going to buy me a beer tonight and then it'll be okay," he said and Lexie laughed.

"O'Malley," Richard called his name as he walked up to the duo and handed him a letter.  "Test results."

Since he was taking his time staring at the letter Lexie took it from him not being to contain her excitement any longer and opened the letter.

"You passed," Lexie exclaimed and Richard stopped walking with a smile on his face as he heard the news and continued walking.

"I passed?" George asked shocked.

"George, you're not an intern anymore," Lexie told him and he grabbed the letter from her in disbelief.

"I passed?"

"We are so going to celebrate," Lexie said, excited for her best friend.

"I passed," he said as it finally registered with him.  "I gotta go tell Izzie and Mer."

"N-no, go tell them and then we will-"

Before she could finish what she was going to say he was already gone.  And she was left disappointed.

*

"Why don't you seem too happy to go on your date with Hahn?" Alison asked Callie as she noticed the look on her face when she put her hand on her bump and soothed it by running her hand up and down.

"I'm new at this," Callie explained. "And there will be people there."

"Ah, so you're afraid people will judge?" Alison asked and Callie nodded her head slightly.  "Look Callie, I can't tell you how to act or even how to feel.  This is a whole new world for you so I can imagine you're a little edgy.  You can always try dinner and if you don't end up liking her in that way that's okay too.  If you want you can even make up some excuse to go to the bathroom and call me and Mark and I will bail you out."

"Really?  You'd do that for me?"

"Callie you are one of my best friends and my fiancé's person.  We would do anything for you."

"Thank you," Callie gave her a grateful smile and hugged Alison.  "How are you feeling, by the way?  I missed you at work these past few days."

"Aw I've missed you too!  I'm feeling a lot better today so hopefully I'll be back to work tomorrow," she grinned.

Callie watched Alison put on her fuzzy socks and how out of breath she got when she came back up.  With her eyebrows raised she looked at the pregnant girl in question.

"You okay?"

"Oh yeah," she waved a hand and let out a small laugh.  "It was funny because when I went to my last OB appointment, the receptionist is also pregnant and we were laughing about how we get out of breath doing the smallest things."

"Everything's going good though?" Callie asked concerned as she went back into the bathroom and finished getting dressed.  Callie remembered when Alison was twenty weeks that she hadn't felt their baby move yet and she was concerned as she hadn't gotten any updates on that yet.

"Oh yeah, everything is great with baby boy.  He's right on track with his weight.  Baby boy is kicking up a storm lately," she smiled at the thought and then felt him kick her and she grabbed Callie's hand to put on her stomach as she felt it too.

"Wow, that's such a weird but cool feeling," Callie marveled.

"Right?" She asked as Callie went back into the bathroom to change and came out moments later.

"You look beautiful," Alison smiled at the Latina.  "Erica isn't going to know what hit her."

"Thanks," Callie smiled at her nervously.

"Remember - when in doubt just talk about things.  That's how you'll get comfortable about it all and if it's not to be then its not meant to be.  But hopefully you'll have a great time," she smiled at her best friend.

"Thank you so much, Alison," Callie told her, touched, and hugged her.

"Of course.  Now, go get going."

"Okay," she laughed and left Alison and Mark's apartment that was across from hers.

The apartment was pretty much unpacked with the couch and their tv working, along with their bed set up.

"You ready?" Mark asked his fiance as he set down the popcorn bowl, soda and movie snacks as they got ready to watch Sex and the City.

"Definitely," she gave him a kiss and cuddled into him closer as his hand rested on her bump and she pressed start to play the show with the iconic theme song starting.

Ahhh I'm so sorry I waited months to post anything!!  I hope the long chapter was worth the wait though.  I had a very busy semester last semester with tons of projects.  It was hard to keep up with writing.

But I'm back!  What was your favorite moment in this chapter?
