Among the kingdom of the Merfolk, there are 5 different regions where the Merfolk live. These regions are split into the 5 oceans of the planet Earth. The capital of the Kingdom, Atlantis, is located in the Pacific Ocean. Why else do you think so many ships are sunk in the Bermuda Triangle? It's because the Merfolk don't want Humans getting too close to their capital.

     There will be 20 selected in total, 4 from each Ocean, and they will all gather at the capital for the selection. These regions are:

THE PACIFIC

     The Pacific Ocean is home to Atlantis, the capital of the kingdom, and at the heart of Atlantis lies the palace. The Pacific, being the largest of the five, is the most populated ocean. Here, Merfolk are known to have a wide range of appearances, and tail colors are known for being diverse as well. However, any guard who works close to the surface have duller, darker color tails, so they are less noticeable to any passing Humans. 

THE ATLANTIC

     The Atlantic Ocean is to the east of the Pacific, and is known by all as one of the most dangerous oceans. Due to the constant Human activity in the Atlantic, going anywhere near the surface is considered suicide. While this ocean doesn't have as many citizens, it is still more populated than the Arctic. Appearances here are also diverse, and tail colors mainly consist of many shades of blue, black, brown, purple, and more.

THE SOUTHERN

The Southern Ocean is, well South of all of the other oceans. This ocean, as well as the Arctic Ocean, is known for it's frigid temperatures. However, there has been significantly less Human activity here, therefore deeming it as one of the safer oceans. Many families flock here to raise their young ones. Tail here are considered more shiny and flashy since there aren't many Humans to worry about, and colors consist of dark blues, purples, white, pink, green, etc.

THE INDIAN

     The Indian Ocean is west of the Pacific, and is the third most popular ocean. The warmer waters are a perfect temperature for any kind of Merfolk, however it is a bit nerve racking to live here, since it is fenced in by 3 land masses. Citizens here are known for having darker complexions, and they are also know for their unique and fiery tail colors such as red, yellow, orange, purple, green, yellow, and more.

THE ARCTIC

     The Arctic, like the Southern Ocean, is one of the lesser populated oceans, but still holds a lot of potential. There is a bit more Human activity here than in the Southern Ocean, but families still flock here none the less. People here are known for lighter, paler skin tones, and tail colors are the same as the Southern Ocean.
