"I thought it was a mere joke."

"Someone broke into your advanced security system mansion," I exclaim in sarcasm while crossing my arms over my chest.

"Did anything get stolen?" Namjoon asks while looking through the CCTV footages displaying on the computer screens.

"Yes," Upon hearing my mumble his eyes flicker to mine before meeting with Jin's.

"Was it something important?" He gulps before questioning. I lick my lower lip not sure whether or not to tell him the truth.

"Hyung what about me?!" Jimin exclaims with rage filled in his eyes. Namjoon lets out a sigh and puckers his lip, seemingly growing bored of the anger.

Suddenly, my phone rings causes me to pick it up in hurry. It was none other than Soobin.

"Byeol, can you meet me by the park near our school in 10 minutes?"

"What- okay,"

"Guys, I have to go somewhere so I'm sorry. You can continue with your investigation although," Saying that I grab my purse and run to the park.

Upon reaching I could only make out the Soobin's hunched figure. I tapped his shoulder making him flinch, he looks at me and lets out a sigh of relief.

"What's wrong?" Upon hearing my question he stays silent probably contemplating.

"It's about Hayoon," He whispers.

"What about her?"

"She hasn't returned yet," I sigh in relief and pat his shoulder.

"It's alright, she may have wanted to stay more," Soobin sighs in frustration and shakes his head.

"You don't understand Byeol. I called her family and they said she never arrived," His voice falters and his expression dulls.

I glance at the ground upon not knowing what to reply with. Beside me, I hear him let out a deep exhale.

"She's in danger. I know it. She told me not to search for her just in case she doesn't return. But I didn't listen to her, I thought it was a mere joke," His voice comes off muffled at the end as he nestles his face in his hands. Hesitantly, I rub his back in an assuring manner.

"Let's not lose hope, okay? We'll try our best to find her," He nods at my words and sends me a weak smile.

"You should go now. We'll meet tonight at my house, is that alright with you?"

"Yeah, sure. What time?" Replying with a 7, he bids me a goodbye and I enter into my assigned classroom, impatiently waiting for the day to end already. Who knew Hayoon could be in danger? But the question is where and why? She already knew that she's in danger and yet she still insisted on going. Why? Just why? I don't understand.

Time flies by and I find myself waiting outside Hayoon's classroom, but upon the realization I drag myself out of the premises. From afar, I spot a familiar Range Rover near the main gate.

It belongs to Jin if I'm right. A guy walks up to him, all I can see is his backpack. He hugs Jin, taking me by surprise, I walk closer to them and lean myself against a wall to not get caught.

"Hyung! It's been so long. How are you?" The guy speaks up making me frown uneasily at where the conversation is heading to.

"I'm good. Enough of the chit-chat, let's come to the main point, okay?" Jin's expression hardens and so does his grip on the guy's shoulder.

"Where is Minhyuk?" He questions with his blank eyes staring at the guy. My frown only ends up getting deeper. I'm as confused as ever.

"I-I he ran away," The guy stutters making Jin run a hand through his hair.

"How? Just how can you lose a guy?" He shouts making the guy flinch, some students begin looking at them making Jin curse under his breath. I move even closer and beware of myself to reveal myself.

"I'm sorry, he tricked us by saying his mother was in the hospital," Jin scoffs at the guys words and sends a punch to his stomach making the guy stumble. He bends forwards while holding his stomach in pain.

"How is your sorry going to fix all of this? That guy had the most crucial information of dad. If it gets to the media, our reputation, career and your lives, all will be lost. Get this in your head," Jin threatens and with a final look he fixes his hair and the suit he wore. Adjusting his tie, he walks out of the parking spot and into the VIP spot where his car was parked. I stay in my place recalling everything that happened right in front of my eyes.

"Bastard you told me he would do nothing! What are you waiting for? Find that guy or else I'm going to beat the shit out of you all," The guy ends the call and kicks an empty can nearby in frustration. I slowly creep out of the parking spot and make way to the bus stand.

I fumble with the keys in my hand and open my locker after I remembered to take something out. Like a rainfall, letters drop to the floor making me widen my eyes in horror. Bending down, I open one of them and turns out they weren't love letters. They were threats. Death threats to be specific.

All of them were pointing to my identity as Iris. I stuff the letters in my bagpack and shut the locker with a bang. The students glare at me because of the sudden noise but I ignore them.

The bus stops and I quickly descend downstairs to the exit. Upon exiting, I look at the sign 'Seoul Jongno Police Station'.

With determined eyes I barge in the police station catching attention.

"Excuse me! Miss! You can not enter without checking yourself!" The guard shouts following me, making me stop in my tracks. I let him check me with a glare and walk in after he looks satisfied with his duty.

I bang my hands on the receptionist's desk making him look at me blankly.

"Where can I file a report for a missing person?" He points somewhere to the left upon my words and I head to the pointed direction.

"Excuse me? I need to file a report," The police hands me a form making me raise an eyebrow.

"Fill this. After that sit there till our head arrives or if you wish come tomorrow. The head is quite busy these days you see," I give him a fake smile and pull out say my name.

"I'm the stepdaughter of the CEO Kim," The guy looks up at this and stares at me in disbelief. He drags his chair to the other end of the room and calls somebody. In less than a minute, I receive a call from my stepdad.

"Byeol? Darling, what are you doing at the police station? Come home I'll help you."

In another second, the call ends. I look at the officer who sends me a mocking smile," Go home kid."

I glance at the station one last time before heading home.
