"Soobin will be so heartbroken."
"Who is this?" I spoke after regaining my voice. I receive silence for a moment before the person on the line scoffs.
"You really don't remember me, Kang?" The nickname was enough to give me various flashbacks. How could I ever forget you, Choi Yeonjun?
"Sorry, doesn't ring a bell," Lie. A big fat lie. The line goes silent and before I know it, Yeonjun hangs up. Not long after that I receive a message from the same number, telling to meet him tomorrow. Reluctantly, I gave in.
Stretching my legs, I get off the bed and make beeline to the kitchen. On my way I bump into one of the Kim brothers. What a great way to start the morning!
I give him a nod, as if acknowledging him but he doesn't even spare me a glance. Awkwardly, I shuffled my feet and poured myself a glass of water.
"Listen," Upon hearing his voice I was almost about to choke.
"Don't meddle in our business, okay? We won't disturb you, so you should do the same," I raise an eyebrow at the statement but he doesn't bother replying. He walks past me leaving me dumbfounded.
I took a bus to the nearest park since it was still a few hours before my high school starts. I hide my face immediately, as if I was caught while doing a crime. But in this case, I was caught indeed by none other than Hayoon. She was sitting right next to bench where I sat and unfortunately, she saw me.
"I didn't know you liked parks as well," I chuckle nervously and tried to start a conversation.
"Well I don't. Why? Is it illegal to sit in parks if you don't like them?" I tried and failed miserably. She clearly showed no interest and stared at the leaf covered in dirt as if it was a piece of art.
"I'm going to ask you something and I want you to be honest with me," She speaks and I can see her desperate eyes staring at me expectantly.
"Alright," I say making her nod her head slowly.
"Why did you go to Cherry Vines? Specifically, the principal's house?" My throat runs dry and I don't know what to reply. Should I tell her? If I do, won't she stop talking to me?
"The principal's sons are going to become my stepbrothers pretty soon. I got to know this yesterday," I say while maintaining eye contact so she doesn't feel that I am being dishonest, and that she can rely on me.
"And you want to be friends with me? How am I supposed to believe this? What if you are on their side and manage to trick me? Soobin will be so heartbroken," Hayoon continued ranting but I stopped listening. Did she really think that low of me?
"Hayoon, I may be mean but I would never do that to someone. If we need this friendship to work out, we require communication and trust okay? So please trust me. I promise I'm not affiliating with them," I let out a deep breath I didn't realize I was holding and anticipated for her reply.
She turns to me. "I'm glad. Just stay away from them okay? They're not what you think. They aren't just bad guys, but also very dangerous."
After school ended, I straight away locked myself in my room and thought about the events occurred today. Suddenly, there was a yell from downstairs. I slowly and very sneakily made way downstairs and stood hidden behind a wall. Eavesdropping on them? Wow, Byeol. Just wow.
"Hyung, but I don't want to go with her!!" Yoongi demanded as Jin shook his head making Yoongi sighed in defeat, "Fine I'll go with her only if she behaves," He warned.
"Someone call her," It was Namjoon I guess- I learned their names pretty quickly with Hayoon's help. But Jungkook looked at me before saying, "Namjoon hyung, she's already here eavesdropping on us," Everyone turned towards me as I walked downstairs slowly. Jimin had a bandage on his cheek and a cut on his lip. His knuckle was covered with bandages. Taehyung mumbled something, "Why is she here?" He asked but more to himself.
"Byeol, you'll accompany Yoongi hyung to buy some grocery," Namjoon stated with no emotion.
"Why?" I questioned back frowning.
"Don't give me that attitude young lady," Jin scolded as a mother resulting in my frown to only deepen. Nonetheless I nodded and returned to my room.
I walked downstairs. There was Yoongi listening to something with his earphones plugged on. I called him but there was no response. I shook him as he narrowed his eyes at me removing one earphone. "Don't touch," He scowled and got out of the mansion making me follow him while carrying two bags. '𝘚𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘢 𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘭𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯 𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘴!' I scowled back. He started the engine of the car as I got in closing the door roughly. He glared at me through the rear mirror. I got out of the car still carrying the bags.
"Welcome, Ma'am and Sir!" Greeted an employee as I nodded with a smile while Yoongi ignored him walking in as if he ruled the place.
I glanced at my wrist watch. It had been an hour since Yoongi went somewhere left me to buy everything with my own money. God I'm so broke!
"It will be ₩100,000.00" I paid the money and got out.
"Where is he?" I spoke a bit loudly as people started staring at me. I quickly bowed with an awkward smile on my face and ran away to where the car was parked.
That's when I saw a glimpse of him flirting with a blonde haired girl. I smirked planning something and went towards them.
"What are you doing here babe?! We were on a date! I waited for you for about an hour. Who's she? Your new toy?" I asked disgusted as the girl glanced at me then Yoongi. She ran away sobbing dramatically.
"Why did you do that?!" Yoongi shouted creating a scene.
"Aww is Yoon-Yoon sad that his blondie ran away?" I cooed at him but he just glared at me with a straight face.
"You deserved it for leaving me for an hour," I spoke, now with a straight and harshly placed the bags in his hand. Without waiting for a reply, I left the place leaving him with all the weight on his shoulders as well. It was guilt, and I knew it very well.
