The chaotic group of eleven climbed off the plane, navigating through the busy Jeju airport. It looked like they weren't the only ones craving a vacation right as the school year ended. Families swarmed every gate with luggage the size of large dogs, as their children screamed their heads off and drooled on their stuffed animals.
Felix didn't mind children. In fact, he found them pretty adorable most of the time. However, he could definitely live without the screaming and crying and vomiting. Yes sir, he could. They ceased to be adorable bundles of joy, and turned into wailing sirens that simultaneously gave him a headache, and made him feel bad that he couldn't comfort them.
But you do want to have kids. Just with the right person, Felix. An annoying voice in the back of his head reminded him. And irritatingly enough, he couldn't get a certain sarcastic dark-haired girl out of his mind. The girl he not-so-subtlety held hands with for the entire fucking flight.
What had gotten into him? He wasn't usually one to make the first move on a girl, let alone a girl he had no business even have feelings for. Get a grip, Felix. He warned himself.
Chocking up his uncharacteristic actions to a bad reaction to the elevation he was at in the airplane, he glanced back to make sure his friends were still there, and picked up the pace a bit. Yeah, he definitely needed to get out of there.

After a half hour car ride, which involved everything from Han and Changbin arguing over who got the "best" window seat (did that even exist?), to Seungmin shoving a sleeping Hyunjin out of his seat because he was drooling too much, they finally arrived safely at the beach house.
Felix, who had been crammed between Chan and Jeongin for the whole ride, painfully extracted himself from his seat and came to stand outside the car. His legs felt like they'd been subjected to an entire day of intense yoga positions. He groaned, starting to stretch a bit. But he was immediately distracted.
You, Riley and Mya were giggling at something as you hopped out of the front row seats. Somehow, you'd all managed to squeeze into those two teeny little seats and not get crushed. Impressive. As Mya stumbled out of the seat first, Jeongin practically broke his back diving forward to help her, being the gentleman he was. For being the youngest in their friend group, Felix was proud of him for being so thoughtful, though he suspected his thoughtfulness wasn't the only contributing factor to his particularly helpful mood.
Chan stepped forward and offered his arm to Riley, who turned bright red, but accepted his help anyway. Felix almost laughed at his chivalry, but it was kind of cute.
Suddenly, Felix felt nine pairs of eyes staring at him as you climbed out of the car, blissfully unaware of the awkward situation Felix was in.
Felix supposed he didn't have much of a choice but to help you down. What was wrong with these people he called friends? Why couldn't they help you instead? It felt like some kind of cruel trap.
But as your foot caught on the chair and you nearly fell out of the car, which was about five feet off the ground, Felix's mind went blank as he lunged forward in a most unattractive way, snatching you into his arms and preventing you from scraping your knee, or worse.
You stared up at him, pretty almond-shaped eyes gazing at him, a mixture of confusion and surprise reflected back. For a brief few seconds, having you in his arms didn't feel like such a trap after all.
Both of your hands pressed against his chest, and your cheeks flushed. Felix didn't mind you touching him like this. Maybe you liked it too?
They pressure on his chest intensified, and it was then that Felix realized you were trying to push him away. He immediately released you, heart hammering and cheeks burning. There he was again, acting like a complete idiot. What had you done to him?
Shooting him a small smile, your cheeks still residually pink, you said, "Thanks Lix," before racing after your friends, who were already almost to the beach house.
Felix stared after you for a moment before picking up his bag and following you. He was in trouble.
As Felix walked up to the front of the house, he took a minute to stare in awe. It wasn't anything ornate or elaborate, but its simple, slightly rustic vibes finally made him feel like he was really on vacation.
"Hurry up!" Seungmin called to him from the doorway, swinging the door a couple of times in warning, a cheeky grin playing on his face. "Or I'll close this and you'll be stuck outside all night! You know I'd do it!"
Chuckling to himself, Felix inwardly steeled himself to your confusing, annoyingly charming ways, and headed inside.
The entire house was a beach-goers fantasy. Tans, yellows, pinks, greens and blues of different shades and patterns covered every room, with tasteful but cute beach artwork to match. The kitchen, just to the right of the doorwaty, was spacious and bright, with two windows overlooking the sea in an almost romantic way. The table, made of a light, polished wood, was garnished with a vase of white daisies that the homeowner must have picked fresh before Felix and his friends arrived. The living area, to the left of the doorway, was filled with colorful furniture ranging from a huge coral couch that could it at least six of them, to a cute lime green loveseat, and robin's egg blue beanbag chairs. Felix already felt like home, and it calmed his thumping heart and cleared his foggy head.
Everyone was already standing in the kitchen and dining area, discussing the room assignments. What with eleven of them and only four rooms, it would probably be a whole process to figure out where everyone was going to sleep.
"Obviously us girls are going to sleep in the same room!" You exclaimed matter-of-factly, both hands on your hips. "I would rather sleep on the balcony than with any of you pigs."
"There's only two beds in each room," Hyunjin stated. "So I guess those of us who have to sleep three to a room can either share a bed, or someone could sleep on the floor?"
"I don't mind sharing a bed," Riley shrugged.
"Me neither!" You agreed enthusiastically.
"We could all share the same bed!" Mya giggled.
The three girls immediately headed off by themselves, chattering about their bed arrangements and how they were going to organize the closet.
That left the eight guys to sort out their rooms.
"I never get to room with Jeongin, so maybe we could room together?" Chan asked, poking the youngest in the side. Jeongin just laughed, grinned widely, and nodded.
"Okay, so you can take the smaller room, since there's only two of you," Hyunjin agreed. "What about you, Seungmin?"
"I wanna sleep with Seungmin," Changbin called, grabbing Seungmin in a headlock. Seungmin groaned, not even trying to escape.
Hyunjin rolled his eyes but couldn't grinning. "Okay, who wants to stay with those two?"
"Please, someone keep him off of me," Seungmin pleaded as he finally wrestled free of his muscular roommate.
Before the rest of them could continue picking rooms, footsteps sounded on the staircase, which was located right off to the side of the kitchen.
You, Riley and Mya raced down the stairs. You had already changed into your swimsuits.
"We're going to the beach! If you hurry, you can catch up with us!" You announced, eyes sparkling.
Felix's gaze couldn't help but bore into you like a laser, trying to memorize every inch of your new appearance. Why did you have to come down those damn stairs, and why did you have to be wearing that? He was all for showing some skin, hell, he did it all the time. But why now, in front of all of his admittedly very attractive friends? That lavender number with small green flowers patterned all over wasn't leaving anything to the imagination.
Yeah, you'd definitely changed.
"Okay, don't drown," Hyunjin said, nonplussed by the three stunning women dashing out the door in practically nothing. Felix supposed those girls were like Hyunjin's siblings. Of course he wasn't looking at them in that way. Felix almost envied him for that.
He needed to get his damn head back on straight.
And he knew just the way to do it.
"How about this?" He said in his most casual voice. "Hyunjin, Minho and I will room together, and that leaves Han, Seungmin and Changbin?"
"I love rooming with Binnie and Minnie!" Han exclaimed. "We call the biggest room!"
"Hey, not fair!" Minho complained. "I want the biggest room."
"Not if I get to it first!" Han cried, scampering up the stairs like a chipmunk up a tree, before Minho could react.
And with that, the six other guys ran up the stairs, crashing into walls and furniture as they went.
Felix stood by the window, staring out at the waves lapping up against the golden, sandy shore. The water looked so clear, he could see a couple of fish and some seaweed strands floating through its depths. He smiled faintly, thinking about all the fun he and his friends would have out there in the coming days.
A sudden movement caught his eye, startling him out of his trance.
You dashed across the sand, the widest grin he had ever seen lit across your face like the literal light of the moon. Felix found himself wishing he could make you half as happy, that smile aimed at him. The waning sun glinted off your golden skin at the perfect angle, making you look like an angel descended from the heavens, your hair flowing behind you in carefree waves. You tripped on the sand, falling to the ground in a heap of giggles. You were so pure and content, so beautiful like that.
No. No, he couldn't find you beautiful. You were his best friend's sister. You had practically grown up together. That was so wrong.
And that was why Felix decided to room with your brother, who would freak if he found Felix staring at his little sister like that, and Minho, who saw through all of his lies and bullshit. Because he knew that he wouldn't be able to stay away from you if he didn't. And while he had no idea why he was attracted to you, he knew it couldn't go any further than it already had.
