Seated at the bench, Jin stared at the oblivious girl, who was busy gazing at the sunset above.

He was mesmerized by her beauty, her charm, the way her dark brown wavy locks flew softly with the air, the color her eyes shone as the sunlight hit her pure caramel skin and her face and the way a tiny, yet absolutely breathtaking smile adorned her face.
She looked like a dream.

Jin couldn't help but think about her.

How she would have looked right now.

-

Jin sat at the window seat of the vehicle, excited for the journey.

He kept on peeping outside, the trees on the outlines of the single lane highway seeming like they're running.
Well, what could have he done, he was just 14.

The man beside him, his dad, and the lady, his mom, chuckled at his behavior.

"Yah Oppa! I wanna have the window seat! Please let me have it!" A voice of the little girl called out to his brother.

"Eomma! Look, SuJin won't let me sit at the window seat!" Jin whined.

"Jinnie, you are her older brother. Learn to share your things, even the smallest one, with your sister. After all, you both will have to be with each other till the end. You'll both protect each other. Okay?" Their mother reprimanded softly.

Jin pouted, but then slowly said,
"Here SuJinnie, you can sit here."

The 6 year old grinned widely and hugged her brother.

SeokJin chuckled at her behavior and ran his fingers lovingly through her soft hair.

-

Jin ran his fingers lovingly through her soft hair, as Aera softly dozed off on his shoulder.

He sighed.
Reminiscing his older days had always been always painful for him.
Those memories he wanted so much to remove from his mind, but couldn't.
Those difficult, terrible days.
Which changed his life completely. Which compelled him to wash his hands off his beautiful childhood so very early.

He wiped a few tears that had escaped his eyes and sighed again.

"Is something wrong?" Through the silence, a soothing voice asked, which brought an instant smile on Jin's face.
He shook his head, blinking away the wetness from his away.
He looked down at the source of the voice, and felt something in his stomach flutter, watching a baby-like Aera, cheeks round and rosy, rubbing her eyes with her fist and yawning a little.

"Nothing. I was just...thinking."

"About what?" Aera asked, blinking her eyes.

"About my...sister."

"Oh. Well, how's she? Tell me about her." Aera asked brightly.

Jin sighed. He didn't mind sharing his past with her. He felt at ease with her. But knowing her current mental health status, he knew better than that.

"I'll tell you some other time."

Taking a glance at the dipping sun, he decided it was time to leave.

"Oh shoot! It's sunset already. Let me take you somewhere, where I can get you to fill that little tummy of yours. Hm?" He changed the topic swiftly.

Aera complied by nodded.

Jin stood up from the bench and offered Aera his hand, which she took without a second thought.

Sparks felt when they had any kind of physical contacts with each other. Warm currents ran through both their bodies which travelled to their hearts and contributed into making them almost dash out of their chests.

But all of these weird feelings taking place in a mere short seconds had Jin shrug them off, and he tried act professional. After all, she was his patient.

Whereas, this feeling which had suddenly awoken inside of her, confused her.
Those sparks, those currents, all this, she used to experience, when she was with Yeojung.

His gaze made her heart melt.
His touch made her heart race.
His scent made her breathe.
His presence made her alive.

But after his death, it was as if life had been sucked out of her.
But being here, with Jin, a mere stranger, she felt...alive again.
She felt wanted and cared for.

Maybe because he took care of even the smallest things relating to her and even his words were comforting, like a what a lullaby feels to a child.
She couldn't even explain what she exactly felt.

But it was clear that she trusted him, completely.

Jin opened the car door for her to get inside and closed it shut, to walk to the other side to settle himself in the driver's seat.
He started the car, driving back to join the main road again, focusing on his actions, while Aera gazed at him.
Feeling her eyes on him, he took a quick glance at her.

"What?"

Aera smiled and then shook her head.
"Nothing."

-

After a good meal, Jin finally drove Aera back to her friend's house, where she was currently staying at.
They walked through driveway, to the front wooden door and Jin rung the bell.

"Thank you." Aera spoke, extremely softly, almost in a whisper.

"Huh? What?" Jin was unable to hear what she had said, her soft whisper inaudible to him.

Aera lifted her head and looked into his eyes. "Thank you for today."

"It was my pleasure. No need to thank Aera..."

Both of them found themselves drowning into each other's eyes, trying to decipher the emotions behind the unique glimmer in their eyes, the strange yet beautiful spark they both shared, until the door opened, revealing Nia.

She opened her arms wide, wrapping Aera into a warm welcoming embrace.

"Did you enjoy your day, honey?" She whispered in her ear.

Aera just nodded timidly.

Nia glanced at Jin who smiled at her.

Nia pulled back from the hug to thank him.

"Thank you SeokJin, I really, really appreciate what you're doing for Aera. She needs someone just like you."

Jin felt butterflies in his stomach, hearing the last words.

"I told you, please don't thank me. It's my job."

Nia smiled gratefully.
"Would you like to come in?"

"I'm sorry but I still have some work at my office, so..."

"It's fine, I understand."

"Alright, thanks. So, see you tomorrow then?"

"Yup. Goodnight then."

Jin nodded greeting back with the same words, and then walked back to his car to get in.

Starting the engine, he pulled out of the driveway.

He could see Aera from the window of a room, on the first floor.
He waved at her, making her smile, and returning the gesture.

He finally got on the main road and drove away.

He kept thinking about these small things he felt when with her.
How his heart felt.

Could it be possible?

Could it be possible, that he has started developing feeling for this girl?

The same girl who is his patient?
