Oliver and Meredith have been married for a little while now, and surprisingly, he's never really met his wife's father. He's seen him, has an interaction with him, but he hasn't had the chance to introduce himself as Meredith's husband. Oliver's been thinking about it a lot, he's been wondering why he didn't get a chance to meet the man when he had come in for a liver transplant. He figured that maybe it was because he stayed by Meredith's side practically the whole time.
Today would be different though, he would figure that out soon when Miranda Bailey would walk into the resident lounge.
"Wanna have Italian for supper?" Olly asked out loud, it's was a suggestion for anyone really, anyone who would join him and have Italian food that he's been craving.
Alex wasn't listening, he was too busy reading a medical journal Meredith had given him. He was leaning against Eliza, her back against his as they say on the floor. "You take your prenatal this morning?"
Eliza loved the caring side of Alex. He's a great person, and it might have taken her a little while to figure that out, but it was worth it in the long run. "I did, Mark reminded me this morning."
"Good, good." Alex nodded happily. "And how are you liking the smoothie Arizona gave you?"
Oh yes, the green goo smoothie. Callie learnt that she was pregnant the night Mark had banged on her door, exclaiming that he was going to be a dad. It was a happy moment, and now Callie and Eliza are belly buddy's. Arizonas been so kind to help Eliza out by giving her smoothies she says she'll drink, but actually just pours down the drain and replaces it with her coffee, today she hasn't done that yet.
"It's great, want a sip?"
"Nope, thanks though, Ellie."
Now Miranda Bailey stepped into the residents lounge, her eyes quickly glancing at Oliver who was reading take-out menus. "Greys, okay, how long has your father been having abdominal pain?"
This stopped the chatter in the room. Meredith and Christina stopped laughing at the fact that Meredith's crisis — choosing to be on a Diabetes or Alzheimer trial — was Sophie's choice.
"Abdominal pain?" Meredith's face changes and Oliver can't help but look between his wife and Bailey, waiting for what's next.
"It sounds like abdominal pain. Thatcher Grey us not an easy man to get information from." Bailey shook her had as she talked, it truly had been a struggle to get anything out of Thatcher.
"Our — our father's here in the hospital?" Lexie stopped what she was doing as she looked up at Bailey, asking the question and trying to figure out why her father could be in the hospital.
Bailey blinked in a small shock that the Grey daughters didn't know their father was here. "Yeah ... I admitted him an hour ago. You didn't know he was coming?"
"Well, what — what — what's wrong?" Lexie muttered and stammered, concern covering her face. "Could it be related to the liver transplant?"
Meredith chimed in, "Of course. He's rejecting it because it's my liver."
"Hun, don't say that." Oliver looked up at his wife. Meredith started to walk away, leaving Oliver to get up and chase after her. Once he had caught up to his wife, he wrapped an arm around her shoulder and pulled her into his side. "Want Italian?"
Meredith chuckled. "Sure, Ollie."
"Oo, yay! Do you think I could meet your dad? As you know, your husband?" Oliver asked with wide puppy dog eyes.
"Really? You want too?" Meredith asked, leaning into Oliver further.
"Of course I do, hun."
So that's how Oliver found himself walking into Meredith's fathers room once he was awake from his surgery. Thatchers girlfriend was sitting in the chair beside the bed, she was sleeping peacefully as she held Thatchers hand. Thatcher was awake now, sitting in the bed watching some show on the television.
"Good evening." Oliver smiled, holding Meredith's hand.
"Good evening," Thatcher nodded and smiled back. He shifted in the bed before he turned his attention towards Meredith and Oliver. "Hi Mer."
Meredith slightly lifted up her hand that was holding Olivers. "Thatcher, this is Oliver, my — "
"I'm her husband!" Oliver bounced happily, beaming as he stepped away from Meredith so he could shake Thatchers hand. "It's so nice to meet you."
"It's nice to meet you, Oliver."

"Mark Sloan!" Lilla Lee shouted from where she stood right outside of the hospital. Mark was just leaving to go get Eliza a burger from Joes when he heard the yell from the woman. "Clad I caught you."
"Miss Lee, hi." Mark held his hand out for Lilla to shake. It's been awhile since they saw each other, and he hasn't actually introduced himself yet as the man who got his daughter pregnant.
"Taking a walk?" Lilla questioned kindly. "Mind if I join you?"
Mark was scared, he's heard some stories about how the Lee-Sunny kids mother could definitely be something. He wasn't sure if this lady would possibly push him into traffic or make sure he didn't accidentally step into accident. "Sure, Miss Lee."
"Oh dear, call me Lilla." Lilla walked beside Mark as they walked through t the parking lot. "Now, I hear my daughters been hanging around you a lot lately."
"I — well — yes?" Mark forced the words out like a baby speaking it's first few words.
Lilla smiled as she had her proud mom moment. "That's wonderful, I'm glad she's got someone like you."
Mark shook head head and pressed the button for the cross walk. "Oh no. I'm the lucky one."
Lilla laughed softly, "That may be true, Mark Sloan. Eliza is such a wonderful young woman."
"She is, she's — she's everything." Mark spoke. He wasn't forgetting Lexie, or the way that Lexie had been his everything at one point. But the break up had been mutual and Lexie found someone who was better for her: a cardiac nurse named Venus Bardot. "I want to give her everything I possibly can, you know?"
"You're giving her you, that's everything." Gosh Mark felt like a little boy who was being told he's doing everything right. "But maybe a pretty ring, with a star! El would love that."
Mark noticed that Lilla was giving him a hint. Get married kind of hint. Maybe he should, right? "She would."
"You know why I'm here, right? To give you the scary 'don't hurt my daughter' talk." Lillas face turned, and she looked stern and scary.
"I would never think about doing that, Lilla." Mark spoke softly.
"I know you wouldn't think about doing it, but things happen. My husband died and in a way, I'd never forgive him for leaving me so soon." Lilla looked down at her feet before she looked back up to Mark. "She's my only daughter, and I know that you got her pregnant, Mark."
Oh no. Oh no. "I did ma'am — Miss Lilla — Lilla, but I promise to be the best dad I can be."
"I know you will, Sloan." Lilla grinned and tapped Marks cheek. "So I was thinking maybe Lilla for a name? What do you think?"
"That's a great suggestion." Mark paused. "It was nice to get to talk to you, to meet Eliza's mother, and to somewhat introduce myself as the man who loves your daughter."
