Chapter 21: A Familiar Face... Or Three

"Jack and Raf are here as well?" I asked as Miko pulled me somewhere.

Miko hummed a light tune. "Yuppers! We weren't supposed to know about the Autobots but destiny called us! Now we hang out here in the military base and we tricked our parents to think that we're going camping for a year."

A year?

"A whole year?" I voiced my thoughts out loud.

"Yeah. The official guys had to cover up our tracks with our contact with the Bots and Cons. They said it'll be safer this way. But the good news is that I get tons of new friends and an adventure!" The other girl squealed.

"Hmm." I simply nodded in reply.

Miko started to tell me all about her adventures and pranks she did. A few mechs and humans helped her with her pranks and cause mischief through the base.

Okay, now that only reminds me of Rumble and Frenzy.

My necklace heats up with energy for a short moment before going back to its normal state.

We soon stopped, Miko still grabbing my arm, pulled me over next to the wall as I heard her typing something. I heard doors slid open and we walked in. "Alright!" Miko exclaimed.

"Welcome to the rec. room!" She released the cloth covering my eyes and I blinked rapidly at the sudden brightness.

The Autobots' rec. room looks nothing like the Decepticons'. What I noticed first is how extremely different the colour scheme looks compared to the ones on the Nemesis. The walls and ceiling were a patch of burnt orange and metallic silver metal. And it was ridiculously bright.

The large room was filled with actual furniture. Both human and Cybertronian sized couches, bookshelves, snack dispensers and an energon dispenser. Various mechs and humans interacted with each other. My eyes trailed across the room to see a few mechs I heard of during my stay with the Decepticons.

The warrior/frontliner twins Sunstreaker and Sideswipe. The gold and red mechs. The seekers told me most about them. How they clung to their wings and drag them down to fight hand in hand combat. Starscream despises them, Thundercracker tolerates them, Skywarp thinks they're fun.

Next, there were a few mechs gathered around large tables. Hound, Mirage, Trailbreaker, and Cliffjumper. On the other table were Smokescreen and Bluestreak. Both tables had a few human soldiers sitting near them as they conversed happily.

Hmm...

It's been a while since I had contact with other humans.

"Hey, Jack! Raf! Look who's here!" Miko sang the last word out as she waved to the two boys.

Jack and Raf turned around and gasped when they saw me.

Geez. They didn't think I was dead, did they?

... That was probably what they were thinking. Stupid question.

"Hi." I gave a hesitant wave. That broke them out of their staring and immediately rushed over to us. Raf gave me a careful hug and Jack pats my back.

"Cecilia? Holy crap, you're okay!" Jack exclaimed.

I nodded and let a tiny smile appear.

"And thank goodness for that. We were worried. Your mom has been searching for you for months! You've been with the Decepticons the whole time?" Raf asked.

I nodded once more.

"You sure you're okay? Maybe Ratchet should take a look at her."

Miko scoffed. "Isn't he a medic for bots?"

"Well, yeah. But Optimus and the others haven't given the soldiers orders that she's allowed in the base yet. The human medics would freak out. It's best if we take her to Ratchet." Raf explained.

I blinked. Ratchet. Autobot CMO and one of the oldest Autobots currently on earth. Knockout could scan me for injuries. But...

I shook my head gently as if that could get rid off my lingering thoughts of the Decepticons who I had slowly begun to see as family. My friends mistook my action as a decline to let the Autobot medic examine me.

Raf looked up at me. "Please Cecilia? We just want to make sure you're alright."

I gave a reluctant sigh and nodded.

When we arrived at what I guess is the medbay, I saw a few signs stuck on the door written in both English and cybertronian. I tilted my head to looks at the various signs on the metal door.

Beware of the Hatchet. (That one was in English).

Doc bot's domain.

Enter if you dare.

If you enter watch out for flying wrenches. (Now that one was in cybertronian).

Order from our beloved tight-afted SIC: Do not add warnings to the medbay's entrance. Ratchet complains about this regularly on why the humans are scared to see him in the hallway. Thank you. (Cybertronian too).

Another order from our SIC: Sideswipe, I did not order you to place my announcement on the door. Remove it.

Message from the Jazzmeister: 'bots, Ratchet had a fit today in our meeting about you all writing on his door and he can't get 'em off. Even though it's hilarious. Ya gotta stop because I don't think ya wanna be welded to your berths.

Order from Boss Bot: Please do not bother Ratchet. The commanding officers have important matters to discuss other than what everyone did to Ratchet's medbay. The ones caught writing on the door after my order will take responsibilities to their actions assigned by Prowl and Ironhide. Sideswipe, I'm looking at you.

I'm a dead mech when they find out. Meet you all after I return from the brig. -Sideswipe.

I held back a laugh at the glyphs written and gave a smile at the three teens around me.

"Alright let's go," Jack said as he held his hand on a human-sized scanner placed on the door. It let out a few beeping noises before the doors slid open and cold, sterilized air filtered through.

"Ratchet?" Jack called out as we entered. I looked around, carefully exploring every detail. Cybertronian sized cabinets, berths, equipment, curtains, stools, and tables were arranged in a clean and tidy fashion.

At the very edge of the large room were another entrance leading to private rooms, the ICU, and another place I do not recognize. Perhaps it is Ratchet's quarters.

"Primus, why." I heard someone mutter. "Yes, Jackson. I am in room A2."

We walked over to the other entrance and was met with a wide corridor that leads to 6 rooms. We stood in front of the one labelled A2 on it. Soon, the door opened and a red and white mech came to view and blocked the inside of the room. He had medical symbols imprinted on his armour and an ash grey chevron. And of course, the blue optics of that of an Autobot.

"You brought the newcomer here?" Ratchet asked. "A great choice. Who knows what happened to her with the 'Cons."

His gaze locked with mine. He gave a polite nod, "Greetings, as you have probably guessed, I am Ratchet. I am a medic and this is my medbay. Do you mind if I scan you?"

I shook my head and soon felt a tingle all over my body as he proceeded to scan me. He muttered something to himself before his optics focused.

"Hmm, it appears that you are not here alone." Ratchet said as he arched an optic ridge. "Who is the young one hiding behind you?"

Ratbat clicked nervously and poked his head out from the strands of my hair. He chirped at the large mech.

"Ratbat. Are you one of Soundwave's creation?"

A happy chirp answered him.

"Very well. Since you do not have access to Soundwave yet and I suppose that you are close with the girl, we will let you stay here."

After Ratbat squeaked in reply, Ratchet turned his attention back to me.

"Everything... Seems well. Health, vitals, brain waves are normal. I still need to examine you further since you are going to stay in our base for a while. What's your name?"

Raf shuffled close to me. "Her name is Cecilia."

Suddenly, we heard a loud clang of something or someone falling from inside the room. Ratchet groaned and finally turned around to assist the bot. A familiar half-crazed laugh rang throughout the space. "Cecilia?" The mech questioned.

I blinked. Was that-

Then the voice changed to a gruff-thick accented one. "Jou mean ze human femme who vas on ze ship vith us?"

The voice changed again to a one with a sharp but calm tone. "Exactly. Perhaps it is her. She made it out of the ship before it crashed."

"My human friend! I missed jou very much!"

"Blitzwing?" I managed to stutter out.

Ratchet leaned away when he finished helping the triple changer back on the berth and magnetize his arms and legs onto the berth so he won't fall over again. Random's jack-o-lantern like face grinned at me.

"Hello!"
