✎ the little mermaid

"hey dolphin ! do you wanna be friends ?" bang soojung asked with wide eyes. she had always wanted to make friends with a dolphin, and thinks of them as really cute animals.

"why would i want to be friends with you ?" the dolphin huffed before swimming away. soojung's smile then faded as she let out a loud sigh. "how i wish i could make friends with dolphins that aren't as snobbish as this one !"

"but we're your bestest friends right? you'll never leave us ?" the hammerhead shark said. "of course we're her bestest friends, we've kept her company ever since she came from the other world hasn't she ?" the orca chided in.

no one seemed to really care about how soojung could talk with the animals, especially underwater creatures. they probably thought of her as delusional, or someone with a mental disease.

but to soojung, the underwater creatures were her everything. they were her only friends who talked and listened to her frustrations everyday after her lessons in the other world. well, you could say that it was going to be difficult to let her open up to humans.

meanwhile, a boy who went by the name ham wonjin was just mopping the dirty floor of the aquarium, annoyed by how the little kids love to throw their rubbish and snacks on the floor. even their parents didn't tell them not to do so, the audacity !

his attention then shifted to the red-haired girl, who seemed to be talking excitedly to the fishes. "what...?" was the only thing that came onto his mind as he observed soojung making hand gestures and chattering to a hammerhead shark, an orca and...a lobster ?

strange, very very strange.

was she crazy ? did something happen to her to make her like that ? talking to animals ?

no one can talk to animals...right ?

he decided to take a risk and see for himself, whether or not she was just simply crazy, or was she really talking to the fishes. it was probably one of the worst decisions he ever did, but curiousity killed the cat didn't it ?

PLUNG !

"ahh !!" soojung screamed at the top of her lungs, also happening to slip on the wet floor that caused her to fall down and have the mop landing on top of her hair. 

"oh boy," red the lobster muttered. "let's scram for now,"

annoyed and frustrated, soojung threw the mop to the side and stood up, making eye contact with the cleaner boy whom she had suspected purposely threw the mop at her. on purpose ! wonjin's laughter immediately died when he found the girl stomping her feet towards him, the mop in her hand.

"you, you did this didn't you ?" soojung was not only annoyed, she was in fact furious that a human would do this to her. "y-yeah i did ! i had to make sure whether you're suffering from some mental illness or not..."

"mental illness ? do you think i'm a sick patient or something ?" soojung raised her voice, causing wonjin to flinch a little. tada ! the answer came to his mind before he let out a mischievous smile again.

"so you're basically aquaman ?!?!"

HER BACKSTORY ::

bang soojung came from an aristocrat family whereas she has five older sisters. she grew in their mansion/home where her parents keep their daughters in. this caused soojung to feel isolated from the world outside and slipped out one night at the age of seven. 

as she escaped that night, her tragedy happened—she fell into their pool on the yard and almost drowned. unable to swim, she experienced an almost death-experience. fortunately, she was able to be revived by the hospital.

further more, her family became stricter to her and giving her more rules to abide. as she grew, she managed to bribe her parents to attend to the school she wanted and got in. however, in exchange, she was to be married from another boy they'll be choosing.

and that boy, had to be lee jeno.

ADDING A LITTLE SOMETHING ::

✎ soojung's list of friends from the water (aquarium) are :: gibby the hammerhead shark, aladar the orca, red the lobster, and a bunch of school fish. the 'bang' family has also the ability to talk to animals; especially underwater creatures

✎ soojung adores pistachio-flavored ice cream and loves to eat strawberries. however, she doesn't seafood since she feels like she's betraying her fish friends

✎ soojung usually wears a beret to school and disregards that school rule. she also wouldn't want to admit it but she just wants a damn puppy plushie. 

 ✎ soojung's only sport is soccer yet she's not the best in it. she also doesn't really have a natural red hair; just dyed it when her favorite sister gave her a hair dye gift. 

 ✎ soojung sucks at video-games and/or anything technical. she also rarely reads books but she doesn't like or like them—just neutral. However if it's about sea creatures, she's interested as heck. 

 ✎ soojung would want to be friends with a dolphin but the dolphin from the aquarium is snobby.
