❝ CARTER IS USING NATE to get money. I know that because..." I trail off, as we are seated in the cab, "Because he did it before." B ends.
"The table is full of his friends. They get the money from the outsider and split the deal."
"You fix this and I'll lean back." B suggests. Making my brows furrow, "What?" I ask confused, "I'm sitting this one out." seeing the look on her face, I nod. Squeezing her hand, I get out of the cab and into the building.
"Who let you in here, Bass?" a familiar voice questions, "He set me up." Nate calls," No one forced his hand. Your boy lost fair and square." Carter denies, "Did he?" I ask, walking further in the room.
"Lolita." the estranged Baizen breaths out.
"Nate's not playing, I am." I announce, "Wow, wow, wow—" Tom starts to deny, "I win. I get his money back." I continue. Ignoring Toms' words just like how he did mine, "You lose?" one of them asks, "I do whatever you want."
Turning to Carter, a smirk to tuck up his lips, moving closer to me he tilts my head to the side, whispering what he wants when he wins — a very confident statement.
Pursing my lips, I nod, "Deal." his brows raise, "Is it still new?"
"New and untouched." I confirm. After glancing around the room, he shifts his gaze back to me, "You got yourself a deal." he grins, sticking his hand out. Shaking his hand the game starts. Pulling a chair out for me, the boys stay back.
"You think she will win?" the young Archibald asks nervously, "It's Valerie, she knows what she's doing." Chuck reassures.
Higher the stakes, he sets down a four of a kind. Sighing I lean back, glancing at my cards. As he wants to take the chips, I hold his hand to the table, placing my cards down, "Royal flush." I smirk.
Seeing the cards Carter nods at the guys, letting me take the chips, "See." Chuck nudges, "Now pay up." I say, raising a brow. Walking out the building, with Nates' money back, we take the car to The Palace hotel.
"What was the stake?" Charles asks me, "Something he wanted before but didn't get."
"That is?"
"My virginity."
Making them — Nate and Chuck's — raise their brows, "You still?" Archibald questioner carefully, "Pure and untouched?" I ask.
Making them nod, "I wouldn't say, I'm either. But I'm still a virgin. Just... don't tell anyone else. It's more embarrassing than a brag."
Where they all zip their lips at. It wasn't really a secret to Tom but still, "No, it's fine." I deny as Nate wanting to give me money for getting his back.
"No, I want to. I mean it."
"Nate." I sigh out, "We don't always get along but we are friends. And friends don't let other friends do stupid stuff." I remind him, "Alone." I add.
"Fifty-fifty?"
"You aren't going to stop, huh?"
"Nope." he denies, smiling at me. Rolling my eyes, my lip tucks up at the boy's grin, "Whatever." having my phone go off cutting Nate off before he could reply, "Get up and out the door. We are picking you up." Blair demands.
"We?" I ask, "S and I." having Serena call out that they are almost there. Smiling softly at the blonds' voice, they hang up. Turning to the boys, they all stare back, "I have an important besties date, but see you guys around." I wave.
The younger Bass' jumps up, following the brunette as she makes her way out. Seeing him, my stomach cringes up, "You will call me, right?" I ask softly, "Right." he nods awkwardly.
Clearing my throat, I shake my head at my own question. Seeing Blair's name light up my phone screen again, I glance back at him, "I really have to go." where he nods at before leaning closer, kissing my cheek.
Furrowing my brows I leave the suite and soon the building. Shaking the weird exchange off.
Quickly making my way to the cab, "I'm here— I'm here." I say between heavy breaths, "Put it on." B says handing me a beautiful yellow dress.
"What are we going to do?"
Showing my the deposable cameras it clear what we will do. Arriving at the venue, we make a bunch of pictures.
Handing the camera to a man, they sweep me off my feet. Making a laugh rip from my throat, "Guys!"
"Say cheese!" S calls out, "Cheese!" B and I call in unison.
As much as my BFF's can make me go WTF, there is no denying that I would be a little less rich without them. And if I must believe Gossip Girl, we do besties better than anyone.
