the party was jumping as we arrived heads turned in our direction, pope, john b, and jj are handing out the drinks. i hug them all my hug with jj lasting longer "you look beautiful" he said in my ear making me blush.

"thank you" i make a squinty face at him. which gets the tongue out response. john b is smiling at me, kie says "are all the kooks here?" catching john b's attention "i'm guessing so ..." john b's eyes land on sarah who he hands the last drink to.

pope is in his own world as a 'touro'/'toro' is talking to him. she's the type of female who exudes her positivity. hanging on to every word pope spoke even his factual rants, she touched his shoulder signaling she liked him.

in the thick of it all i am smiling, the profuse smoke all around even though we are at the beach. my hearts content as i try to twerk on max. the party was like any party you felt otherworldly, ethereal once the alcohol set in.

take on a new form. i was in the thorns of a breakthrough as i danced with the people i cape with.

as my hands covered my mouth in shock, disbelief. jumping slightly at the grotesque amount of blood on the fist of boys who knew what my insides felt like.

jj has rafe pinned to the ground, punching away at his face. rafe gets out for his hold and starts punching him ... it isn't broken up until both their fists covered in blood, bruises to the face in different areas.

i am too far to make out the words jj is spewing at rafe which cause his face to change. rafe is staring at me. approaching cautiously "are you alright? what the fuck was that?!"

touching his face gently, rafe pushes my hand away. trying again but fail as he flinched away again.

"i need to talk to you" rafe takes my arm as we walk away from the crowd of party goers. i'm giving him my best 'curious' look.

" the anger still prominent in rafe's features. he has this look of pure disgust since i slept with a pogue. rafe gets closer to my face as he whispers in my ear "tell me sloan. tell right. the. fuck. now" i could almost feel the chill, venomous fury from him.

"you can't get mad... i was with jj months before i met you, i want you and only you" i said before taking a gulp of whatever was in my cup. i brace myself for my next sentence.

"h-h-he meant —" the only words i could make out at this moment.

"what?!"

the bile ready to rise as i think about telling him that i have cancer.. "my cancer" i pull away from him to look in his eyes. the blue fire pits has vanished.

i shake my head signaling 'no', i can tell i have disappointment written all over my face. since i should've told him, i needed to be the one. my brother was right rafe says nothing else he walks away. i try to grab his arm but he rips it out of my hands.
