"We are gonna be the hottest bitches at the Halloween party!" Tessa declared as she yanked you and all the girls into your second store, a boutique.

You, along with the seven other girls, had decided to head to the mall so you could shop for your Halloween costumes. Even though some of the guys had begged to come along, you thought it was about time to be without them, just for a bit. As much as you loved the guys, you wanted to shop without them nagging you about your clothing choices, or complaining about their feet hurting. You'd all just purchased things in the Halloween store across the hall, and were now getting the trendier pieces to finish of the look.

"I don't know if my outfit is meant to be hot," Alaska paused, thinking. "But you never know, I always have tricks up my sleeve."

"Me too," Riley smirked. "Although my costume is definitely gonna be hot."

"Do we finally get to know what you're going as??" you pestered her. None of the girls had been forthcoming about any of their choices, and outside of you and Tessa, who were matching, you knew nothing.

Riley shook her head smugly. "You'll see on Halloween. Until then, you'll just have to guess!"

"I wanna keep our ideas a secret, unless we're matching," Alaska said. "I think it could be fun for everyone to be surprised."

"Ooh, that's good!" Mya agreed. "Obviously Jeongin will know what my costume is, but we wanted to shock everyone with how good we look!"

"Okay, let's all finish searching for our costumes, and if we're lucky, we might have some time to look around the mall after!!" Alaska said eagerly. "I'm dying to shop, I've already made my costume."

"Did you make Felix and Chan's costumes too?" Riley asked interestedly.

Alaska nodded enthusiastically. "I thought it could be fun! You guys are gonna love them."

"You wanna come with me?" Mya asked Alaska. "You can help me pick out a dress!"

Robin, who held a huge bag filled with both her and Jisung's costumes, scooted over to look at the sneakers. Renee was looking at some short dresses with tulle tutu-like skirts. JJ was feeling the fabrics on a couple of blue dresses.

The rest of the girls started hunting for the rest of their costumes. You and Tessa worked together, since you would be matching again this year.

"Oh my gosh, this is sooo cute!" you gushed, holding out a short white skirt with white feathers along the bottom. "And it comes with a matching tank top?? I think it was meant to be."

"Is there a red one that looks the same?" Tessa demanded, tossing an ugly maroon top over her shoulder onto the floor. "Because that's sooo hot. Changbin is gonna have a stroke when he sees you."

You shook your head, cheeks warming. "Girl, if you think he's gonna freak out, then you're in trouble, too."

"What do you think of this?" Riley thrust a purple and black one-piece bodysuit at Alaska, the resident fashionista of the group, who had stopped a few rows away from her. "Is it too revealing? I don't know if it's really me."

Alaska rolled her eyes. "Halloween isn't for you to dress like you. It's dress-up! If you don't think you're hot usually, you will be on Halloween."

Riley reluctantly placed the outfit into her basket, along with a pair of black thigh-high socks and heels. "What was I thinking when I chose this," she mumbled to herself.

"You wanted to impress Chan!" Mya reminded her. "You were all 'if this doesn't get him to make plans for our date, then nothing will!'"

"He hasn't planned your date yet?" Tessa frowned.

Riley shrugged. "I'm sure he's just busy. He's been working remotely in the evenings, so he might have forgotten."

Tessa snorted, but thankfully didn't say anything.

"You should just ask him," you pointed out.

"See, I told you!" Alaska interrupted. "There's no way he just forgot you. How could anyone forget you??"

"He might just need a reminder," you continued. "Or maybe he's making sure you still want to go out with him, since it's been a few days."

"Ugh, that's so much work," Riley sighed, but no longer complained about her costume choice.

"I can't believe Hyunjin and Changbin talked me into this idea." JJ shook her head as she stared down at a pair of gorgeous heels.

You laughed, pointing at them. "Girl, when's the last time you've worn heels that aren't boots??"

She shrugged. "I dunno, maybe never? The guys are lucky, they don't have to wear a dress or heels. No wonder they were excited."

"What about this dress??" Renee asked Tessa, who was still searching for a matching red outfit. "Is the green a pretty shade?"

"Ooh, it looks so cute!" Tessa exclaimed. "You're gonna look magical in that, your man is gonna die."

Renee blushed, shaking her head. "He's not my man, we're just doing matching costumes together for fun."

You raised your eyebrows at that. "I heard that the guys were gossiping yesterday, and Seungmin wants to ask you out, and you keep running away. Is that true??"

"Erm, no of course not!" Renee visibly gulped. "Why would I run away from a hot guy who wants to date me? That would be insane."

Tessa scoffed. "Hell yeah it is."

JJ threw a scrunchie at her. "Girl you can not talk. You are the queen of running."

Tessa scowled. "I do not run! He pushes me away! Every guy does! I think they hate me."

"Lee Minho definitely doesn't hate you," Robin chimed in. She came over after she snagged some red and yellow sneakers. "He literally can't keep his eyes off you. Did you see the way he stared at you in your robe yesterday? Obsession."

Tessa snorted. "Yeah, but we were all ogling the guys too, weren't we? I was staring and Jeongin and Changbin, and I'm not into them. I bet Minho was just doing the same thing."

"Yeah, and you'd know about obsession!" Mya giggled at Robin. "We see you and Han. You're so happy! How do you do it?"

Robin shrugged. "I dunno, he's really easy to date, I guess. Sometimes I get freaked out by how amazing he is, but he always reassures me. It's different from what I'm used to, but it's nice."

"I want that," you sighed.

"You have that, girl," Renee corrected you. "Changbin is as good as in love with you. If you asked him, he'd be yours."

"And with you wearing that fit??" Alaska motioned at the set you held in your hand. "He will be foaming at the mouth."

"I can't argue with you there," you admitted to both of them. "But he has yet to make it official, and we've only gone on one proper date. We haven't even planned another one yet. So it's far from a relationship."

"Same with me," Mya said doubtfully. "Unlike someone we know, I haven't been running from Jeongin one bit, and he hasn't asked me out either. I just want him to make a huge romantic gesture, is that too much to ask??"

"Girl, sometimes you have to make the first move," Alaska shrugged, and Mya pouted. "If you show him you want him, then he might make a move."

"I found it!!" Tessa cried, holding up a bright red set that would match yours perfectly. "And look at these sexy ass shoes. They have white and red!!" She thrust them into your hands. "Now, can we get the hell out of here and do some real shopping?"

"I saw a photo booth where you can wear cute headbands and take pictures!" Robin added. "I think we have to go."

"Oh my gosh, I need it!!" Mya squealed.

Alaska shot her a pointed look. "We have other important shopping to do, remember?" she reminded her.

Riley nodded. "Yeah, we have business to attend to, girl."

Mya groaned, but nodded. "Ugh, yeah... fine."

"Then we we get bubble tea, right?" Riley added. "I want a reward for being forced to clothes shop all day."

Alaska raised a brow, but acquiesced. "Yeah, duh. I live on Thai tea. Let's buy this dress and... whatever the hell that is." She inclined her head at Riley's mishmash of items.

The three girls headed up to the register, with you and Tessa following. You'd also found matching red and white fishnet tights that would fit perfectly with your costumes. JJ reluctantly followed, still examining the shoes and dress she'd picked. Renee had decided on the green dress, and found some little heels to match. Robin purchased the sneakers she'd chosen.

"I wanna try out the photo booth!" JJ was telling Robin as they bought their stuff. "The only people I've gone with are Tess and Hua, and they always hog the camera."

"Hey, not true!" Tessa gasped. "It's not my fault I look amazing."

"You're definitely a hog," you smirked. "I, however, have never done that. And to prove it, I'm coming with."

After all eight of you exited the store, you split up. Alaska, Riley, and Mya were already halfway down the hall, hustling off to a set of stairs, probably so Alaska and Riley could blow all their money on clothes and music, with Mya attempting to stop them.

"I gotta pee," Renee mumbled, glancing back and forth, trying to find a bathroom.

Tessa nodded. "Girl me too," she agreed, linking arms with her friend. "I gotta touch up my makeup and fix my top too, or my goods might pop out."

Renee shook her head at her friend, as they both disappeared towards the bathroom sign.

You, JJ, and Robin headed upstairs to the photo booth that Robin had seen earlier. It was in the same space as an adorable bubble tea cafe, so you were sure The Golden Trio would be joining you shortly.

"If you're using the photo booth, please take your time and have fun!" The barista at the front of the bubble tea register smiled at you, before going back to her job.

"I need to wear this giraffe headband, it's so cute!" Robin held the accessory above her head excitedly. "Is this not so cute? And it matches my mask, it's meant to be!" She hurried into the booth.

All of you girls had decided that wearing masks for most of the day would be a smart idea, so none of you got sick at the Halloween party. With you and Robin planning the whole thing, you'd been very adamant to the other girls that they stay healthy.

"There is no way any of you bitches are getting sick and missing all the fun," Robin had warned everyone while you were getting ready to leave earlier this morning.

"I think I like the crab headband," JJ decided, placing it on her head, and giving her reflection a precursory glance in the mirror. Nodding, she stepped into the booth after Robin.

You looked around at the array of props, hoods, and headbands that were available. There was everything from strawberry hoods that went all the way over your head, to adorable Sanrio hoods, and of course, animal headbands.

You grabbed a green frog headband and tried it on in front of the mirror. While green wasn't usually your color of choice, you had to admit it looked pretty cute.

"Girl, hurry up!" JJ laughed, peeking her head out of the curtain. "We're just gonna take pics without you!"

You rolled your eyes, grinning. "Fine, I'm ready!" Without another thought, you walked into the booth. 

The three of you took a bunch of pictures, trying out as many of the props as possible. You chose the Cinnamoroll hood, JJ wanted Pocchaco, and Robin picked Batz Maru. Next, you grabbed matching princess crowns and wands, and last, you wore huge sunglasses and hats.

By the time you were done, Alaska, Mya, and Riley had all arrived, completely done with their shopping excursion, and ready for some bubble tea.

"One large Thai tea with rainbow jellies please! Ooh, and one strawberry crepe too." Alaska ordered from the barista girl at the front. You wondered how she was managing to make the tea and treats, and cashier at the same time.

"I'd like a large mocha boba, and a chocolate crepe," Riley said after Alaska had paid.

"I'll take a large strawberry boba with a birthday cake crepe," Mya finished the trio, and the three girls hurried away to wait.

You, JJ, and Robin decided to order as well, and all six of you went to sit at one of the huge tables in the corner.

"This is such a cute place!" Mya gushed, marveling at the pink and purple fuzzy cushion she sat on. "Can someone take a picture of me with the huge cardboard boba behind me?"

"Fuck yeah." Alaska yanked her phone out of her pocket with a flourish, before starting to take pictures of her friend. "Everyone else, pose so I can get some cute shots."

"Me too please," Robin begged. "I need more pics for my feed, I've been slacking this trip."

"Girl, you've been really active!" JJ laughed. "Although to be fair, I never post anything. This trip has been the most I've updated in years."

"Yeah, it's a ghost town on your feed," you agreed, shaking your head, as you posed for Alaska.

"Okay, my turn!" Alaska declared, thrusting her phone into Riley's hands. "This fuzzy chair matches my top perfectly, I have to capture this moment!"

"What did you get, Hua?" Robin pointed at your drink, scrutinizing it.

"Your boba order says a lot about you," JJ nodded sagely.

"Oh, my usual." You showed everyone your drink. "Green tea with lychee jelly! And I decided to get a matcha crepe to match."

"Can I have a bite?" Mya asked. "I debated getting that, too."

You shrugged, handing the half-eaten crepe to your friend. "Take as much as you want, if I can try the birthday cake."

"You wanna try mine?" Mya's eyes widened, but she swapped.

You took a bite of the crepe, which was filled with sprinkles and whipped cream. It was a little crunchy and sweet for your taste, but it was adorable. "What about you, Robs? Yours looks good."

"I got regular milk tea with coffee jelly!" She pointed at the brown jelly in the bottom. "It makes the drink extra strong, and I need the kick."

"What, they had coffee jelly??" Riley pouted. "I should have gotten that!!"

"I told you to look at the menu," Mya tsked, as she passed your crepe back. "That's sooo good! I'm gonna get one!"

"Do you need another crepe?" JJ asked.

Mya shrugged. "I dunno, but I've missed sweets! Minho is a great chef, but he doesn't really make baked goods."

"Maybe you should ask Felix," Alaska suggested. "Those pumpkin pies we made were good, right?"

Mya nodded lamely. "Yeah, but I want something really sweet."

"I say fuck it, and go get another one," Riley put in her two cents. "You only live once, right?"

"Fuck it, I'm getting a waffle." JJ relented. "I didn't eat breakfast, and I'm starving."

"Yeah, where were you this morning??" you scrutinized her. "I was waiting to eat with you."

JJ shrugged. "I was just getting ready. I have to compete with all you hotties, and I didn't wanna look like a total scrub."

"Since when have you cared about dressing up?" You wrinkled your nose, but let it go. You were never going to complain that your friends cared about their appearances.

"Where is Tessa and Renee?" Mya broke in, glancing around. "Did they take pictures with you?"

You shook your head. "No, they were in the bathroom. But they're probably looking for us." You pulled out your phone to text them.

As the last two girls joined you at your table and you bought both of them the teas and crepes they wanted, you all started to head back to your car.

"Are you sure we can't stop in one more store?" Mya, holding her second crepe, complained.

"Nah girl, we gotta get home before dark!" JJ called around a mouthful of waffle.

Everyone else agreed, much to Mya's chagrin.

Suddenly, right before you were about to exit the mall, you pulled up short in front of a random store.

"What's up, Hua?" Riley glanced at you. "I thought you were in a rush to get home."

You paused, staring through the window, unable to continue moving.

Hanging unsuspecingly on a shelf was a small pumpkin keychain. It wasn't anything grand or flashy, but...

It reminded you of Changbin. Of your time at the pumpkin patch, and even of the time you'd spent carving pumpkins. After you'd gotten over your argument, you'd had a great time, giggling like children while smearing pumpkin on his face.

Did you really need to buy such a silly item? No, of course not. And you certainly weren't the kind of person to buy superfluous, unnecessary things. But to you, it was special. And besides, you'd already started down the path of chang, with Changbin's help. Why not give into one more thing?

"Sorry girls, I'll be right back."

aww, a super fun, chaotic day with a sweet ending! our girls needed a bit of time to gossip alone, before the guys are back and halloween starts! one more chapter before halloween, y'all! i promise the next chapter is also a great one, so tune in! don't we just love these girls? they all fit with their guys so well and i love seeing them get closer and maybe get into relationships 😏 what do you think everyone's gonna be dressed as? there were a few hints in there, i'm sure you can at least make a guess! only two more weeks before the party, and things really start going down...
