Is The 'Outer Banks' Cast Close Enough
To Remember Each Other's Lines? | ELLE.

Seven out of the nine main cast members sit in a semi circle of chairs; theadora is sat in the middle with madelyn cline to her right and madison bailey on her left. "we're the cast of outer banks!

"and today we're gonna be playing who said that." bailey continues. "we're going to be given a line from our show outer banks and we're gonna try to guess who said each line."

"WHO SAID THAT?
with Madelyn Cline, Theadora James, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, Carlacia Grant, Austin North, and Drew Starkey."

"stupid things have good outcomes all the time." madelyn reads. "we have A, drew starkey. B, rudy pankow. or C, theadora james." maddie clicks her long nails together. "do a little deliberation here."
jd begins humming the jeopardy theme song, the rest of the group following suit. "the answer is B, rudy pankow!" madelyn reveals. "working with rudy is...chaotic in the best way possible."

theadora snorts. "well that's a nice way to put it." the cast laughs and bailey turns to the camera, explaining, "thea and rudy have pretty much the same dynamic in real life as max and jj do in the show."

the group laughs in agreement before drew reads the second line. "okay, the quote is 'he's gonna take the bridge? he couldn't take even take me."

mid-sip of out of her water bottle thea chokes on her drink, accidentally spewing it all over her outfit. the cast laugh as both of the maddie's reach over to pat the girl on the back as she continues to cough, holding up a finger, "sorry. one moment."

"so childish." drew playfully rolls his eyes. "grow up, thea."

theadora makes a face back, sitting back upright and wiping her mouth with the back of her hand. "continue. sorry."

"options are A, madelyn cline, B, Carlacia Grant, or C, Madison Bailey." drew pauses briefly in thought. "i think...A, madelyn cline?"

the group mimics the sound of a buzzer. carlacia raises a hand and thea gestures, "none other..."

"working with laci is amazing but terrifying." drew admits with a shrug. "i think the only time we've worked together you had a knife to my throat, so."

"yeah." carlacia nods. "checks out."

"but it was beautiful. she's a fantastic actor."

thea squints at a monitor off screen, reading the third line. "you love the idea of me, you love being seen with me, but you don't love me. the options are A, madison bailey, B, theadora james, and C, madelyn cline."

madelyn jokes monotonously. "gee, i wonder."

"yeah, that's a hard one." thea teases. "i'm gonna have to say my girl cline. working with maddie is so fun. it's been, what, thirty episodes? and we have just as much fun each time. she's, like, my literal sister now."

madelyn leans over in her chair to wrap an arm around the teens shoulders. "awe, stop, i'm blushing."

jd reads next. "i look like i got kicked out of a barbershop quartet. A, rudy pankow, B, jonathan daviss, C, chase stokes. well i know i didn't say that." the group laughs collectively. jd guesses, "i'm gonna go with C, chase stokes. there's a story behind it, actually." he shares, "that line, he called me and was like 'they gotta think of funny things to say, look at this outfit.' we proceeded to roast him for a good five minutes just to give him some material."

carlacia is next. " 'i look like a bourgeoisie pig.' A, madison bailey. B, theadora james. C, jonathan daviss. hmm, whose character would say that? i'm gonna go with A, madison bailey."

the group claps in congratulation. "nice!"

"i couldn't imagine pope saying that. ruby, maybe. that's what threw me off." laci adds. "madison is so amazing, truthfully, she's not paying me to say this." carlacia winks jokingly. "she's so sweet, from the very first moment that i met her, i went into her trailer even before i went on set, and she was so sweet and so welcoming, gave me all her contacts. she was like 'anything you need, call me and let me know' and now we hangout all the time."

madison goes next, laughing as she reads, "do not test me while i am holding this gun, jj, i will shoot you in the nuts.'"

madelyn snorts, "that's gotta be my favorite line in the entire show."

"oh for sure." madison lists, "A, chase stokes, B, theadora james, or C, madison bailey." the group does a brief drumroll before madison reveals, "the answer is B, theadora james!" she grins, gesturing to their youngest cast member. "working with thea is the best. i mean, she's so insanely different from her character it's almost startling to see her go from max and then immediately back to thea."

"but there are some max lines where i'm like, "yup, that's thea.'" madelyn laughs. "like when max complains about losing her snap streaks."

theadora snorts, acting out the line mentioned. "i did not just lose every single last one of my streaks for us to just give up!"

madelyn points. "see! that's all thea right there."

"oh no, for sure." madison laughs, agreeing. "but for real, like, thea is just the sweetest person on the planet and she's so incredibly talented." she turns to theadora, "and you were, what, thirteen when you got max?"

"yeah, thirteen when i auditioned and fourteen in the first season."

"absolutely insane."

austin presses his hands together as he reads off his quote. "love is five minutes of pleasure for a lifetime of pain.' did i sell that?"

"for sure."

he lists the possible answers, "A, drew starkey, B, jonathan daviss, or C, chase stokes. i'm gonna go with, uh, C, chase stokes...?" the buzzer sounds, indicating a wrong choice. "B, jonathan daviss?"

"nope, too late, too late. nice try buddy." jd shakes his head.

"subject of elimination." austin wraps an around jds shoulders, the latter doing the same. "jd is one of my best friends now—we have too many inside jokes—so it's fun on set doing our bits for about ten minutes and then they call action and then we're just riding a character. we have a lot of fun."

"good times. to this day, i've had the hardest laugh i've ever had in my life with austin." jd points to his friend.

"oh, i'll never forget that. can't say it right now. can't give you the context, but—"

jd shakes his head. "no, can't. can't give you the context, but, to this day when i think about it i laugh out loud." he holds a fist to his mouth, stifling bouts of laughter as madelyn closes out the video. "elle, thank you so much for having us. for more funny lines like these, tune into outer banks season three coming soon."
