the city lights shimmered against the dark night sky as yuxi approached junhui, who was waiting for her by the entrance of one of the fanciest restaurants the girl had ever seen in her life.

yuxi had never been this excited, and neither had junhui. she had gone on plenty of dates before, but nothing like this. this was different. this was junhui.

"you look stunning," he whispered, giving her a greeting hug. "you don't look too bad, either," she joked, hugging him back tightly. he squeezed her waist gently before pulling away.

they walked into the building, taking the elevator to the top floor. once entering the restaurant, the soft melody of a live piano instantly greeting their ears. she felt her hand reach for jun's in the few moments they would be walking side by side. she just couldn't get enough of him.

the interior was way fancier than the already elegant exterior. the decor was luxurious and the dim lighting was perfect for an intimate atmosphere: someone led them to a table near the window with a breathtaking view of the city's skyline. she thought junhui somehow looked better.

as the two got comfortable in their seats across from each other, yuxi felt extremely grateful. she was so grateful that everything had worked out. she knew this date would go well. she felt it.

the boy's voice brought her back to the present, "apparently the food here is really good." she smiled softly, "we'll be the judge of that." he laughed, "okay, gordon ramsey."

the conversation didn't stop, even as the two began browsing the menu. everything seemed mouthwatering, she could barely make a decision. she looked at the brunette, comforted by the fact that he was in the same position as her.

after what felt like minutes, the food they had ordered arrived. it felt too short. before she knew it, her food was done. she wanted this moment to last longer. she needed it to.

"are you up for dessert?" yuxi asked, and he nodded. "yeah, sure." a waiter came, and junhui asked for a surprise dessert.

"what do you think they'll get us?" "i'm not sure, but if our food was that good that means the dessert probably is too. right?" "right."

finally it came, it was a chocolate creation that was more beautiful than any museum could offer. she looked at the boy, her eyes shining with contentment. "this night has been amazing, junnie."

"im glad you feel that way. i feel the same. oh!" he reached across the table to hold her hand. "i have something to ask you." she nodded for him to continue, her curiosity piquing.

she watched as his expression became slightly more serious, she caught the slight blush tint his cheeks. "im so glad i came back, and im so glad i met you again. my life wouldn't be the same."

she felt her heart race, unintentionally holding in a breath as she waited for him to continue.

"yuyu," he began, his voice sincere. "i don't want this," he gestured between the two, "to just be a moment in my life. i want it to be a start of something new. so," yuxi knew what was coming. she felt butterflies of anticipation and hope swirl in her stomach. "will you be my girlfriend?"

yuxi didn't even try and hide. she broke out into a radiant smile almost instantly. the question hung in the air for not even a moment, "yes, i would love to be your girlfriend."

she watched as joy and relief washed over junhui's sculpture-like features. his smile matched hers. she realized that she had never let go of jun's hand. she planned to keep it that way.

without even thinking, junhui leaned across the day, capturing yuxi's lips in a spontaneous and soft kiss. the world seemed to fade into the background for yuxi. it was magical.

when they finally pulled away, the boy sheepishly smiled. "sorry, i couldn't wait any longer to do that." she giggled, "trust me, i'm glad you didn't."

the night air was cool as they stepped out of the restaurant. jun began walking yuxi home, stopping right in front of the entrance to her dormitory building.

the city lights shimmered in the sky as jun pulled her in for one last kiss. "i'm so lucky to be your boyfriend, yuxi." he whispered after they separated, their foreheads touching. "i'm luckier to be your girlfriend, junhui."

she wanted to stay in that position forever, but she couldn't. so she pulled away with a sad smile. "text me when you get home?" she asked and he softly smiled, "of course." she looked to the door and back at him, "thank you for tonight." he replied, "anything for my pretty girl."

she felt the blush rise to her cheeks. trying to play it cool, she waved goodbye and rushed into the lobby. he knew what effect he had on her. and she was glad.
