Coach blew his whistle, "let's go! one-on-one from up top! Jackson, Lewis....both of you take a long stick today." He called as the two did such and got into positions.
"1, 2, 3, 4, up and hold--" Stevie said watching the girls attempt the stunt for the first time but the flyer ended up back on the ground. "Stevie I don't think I can--"
"No, no, no." She quickly said cutting her off. "Daisy you count me in we're running it throw with me. Let's go!" She said as Daisy, her co-captain, walked in front of the Stevie and Beck; there only male cheerleader. "Ready?" She asked as the two nodded, "Alight..." She said sheepish before stating the count. Stevie hand thrown her arms forward and than back making her do a backflip as Beck grabbed her waist and threw her up. One of her feet landing on his palm as the other was tightly held beside her.
"Now, from here you'll go into a high 'v'." She before extending her arms out to make a V shape, looking straight a head.
"Than left, right, left." She said bring each arm to her hip while the other stayed in the air. "Than some other thing, but let focuses on getting you up. Down," She informed as Beck threw her up a bit before grabbing her waist again and setting her down back on the ground.
"McCall! What are you waiting for, let's go." Coach Finnstock yelled snapping Scott from his daze.
"Take five!" She announced before turning her fully attention to the field. She crossed her arms seeing Jackson with a long stick knowing this would end badly. The coach blew the whistle as Scott went for it and Jackson shoulder checked him. Leaving Scott on his back on the ground. "Hey, McCall!" Coached yelled as the guys started laughing, "Hey, McCall!"
Scott than got up, "My-my grandmother can move faster than that. And she's dead," Coach said getting up in Scott's face as he bent down. "You think you can move faster than the...lifeless corpse of my dead grandmother?"
"Yes, coach."
"I can't hear you."
"Yes, coach." He repeated as she saw his eyes turn yellow, "Then do it again." Finnstock said pushing Scott forward, "McCall's gonna do it again!" He yelled as Scott ran back to the line. Stevie knew this was going one of thee ways. One being he kills Jackson, two being he was going to kill Jackson, or thirdly being that Alec would ended up killing Scott. She quickly placed two fingers into her mouth and whistled getting Alec's attention. She pointed to her own eyes before trailing towards Scott. He nodded knowing what she meant by that before twisting the stick in his hand.
The starting whistle blew as he ran forward and completely knocked Jackson down. Holding his head in his hands and fell to his knees as Jackson fall holding his shoulder. Stevie ran up to Alec who was looking down at Jackson before the two looked over to Scott.
"I can't control it, Stiles."
"Alright, come on, get up. Come on." Stile's said nodding before pulling him up as the two ran off to the locker room. Stevie's eyes glanced behind them feeling watched. And there he was. Derek Hale. Alec nudged her side snapping her out of her gaze, "Aren't we gunna follow him?" She nodded before the two ran off.
"But that's lacrosse it's a pretty violent game, if you hadn't noticed."
"Well, it's gonna be a lot more violent killing someone on the field." Stiles said putting infuses on 'killing'. "You can't play Saturday. You're gotta get out of the game."
"I'm first line,"
"Not anymore," Both said getting the two's attention as Stiles looked like they had almost scared him to death. "They here to kill us," He said holding his chest starting to freak out. "Actually we're here to make sure he didn't kill you," Alec corrected crossing his arms over his chest.
"Huh?" Both asked confused.
She rolled her eyes before letting out a small huff, "I heard you needed help in French?" She asked looking towards the McCall boy. He gave her a confused expression, and glanced towards Stile who was stuck staring at the girl. "I don't take-"
"Let's start with a simple one." She said cutting him off, "Je sais que tu es un loup-garou," she spoke as his confused look grew bigger.
"What does that mean?" He whispered towards Stile's. "I don't know, but it sounded really attractive coming from her." He said not breaking his lustful gaze.
"It mean's, I know that you are a werewolf. And, J'en suis un aussi, mean.."
"I am one too," Alec finished as she smiled looking over at him. "Glad to know your French isn't rusty," She remarked. "Wait both of you are werewolves?" Scott asked changing the subject. "What you thought he just ran around the woods and play tag with hunters because we're human and bored on a full moon?" She remarked crossing her arms over her chest.
🐺
"We're leaving!" Stevie yelled, it was the now the weekend and the two had their last practice days until they played tonight's game.
"Hold on!" Caroline called walking up to the two who were giving her confused looks. "Something happened last night..."
"What?" They both asked not knowing what she was getting at.
"Two people found Laura's body on the Hale property and called the cops. This morning Derek was arrested because of that body. Now we're trying to find a way to drop the charges, but we just wanted to knew before cops started asking questions."
Alec knew that this would bother Stevie. Glancing down at the girl next to him and studied her. She stood their calm, no shortness of breath, her heart beat hadn't quicken. She just looked like nothing had happened.
"Stevie?"
"Call us whenever you get him out. We all know how short a Hale's temper is. Now can we leave cause we're gunna be late." She said emotionless.
Her mother smiled sweetly at the two before nodding. "We'll see you guys at the game." She said as they both walked out shutting the door behind them.
"Are you-" He went to asked but she hit his shoulder putting her finger to her lips. They got into her car and once she started pulling out the drive way was when he continued his sentence. "Now, are you okay?"
"I have to get back to you on that one," She muttered staring at the road.
"Stimpy,"
She sighed lightly shaking her head glancing at him after pulling up to the stop sign, "I don't know what to feel. I mean, the asshole shows up after all these years with no phone call, text, letter, not even a fucking note tied to a bird." There was what Alec had been waiting for, the gate's of Stevie to open. "It's just....after all this time you would think these feelings would go away. That after getting yourself to move on, he shows up and they just flood back."
"You still love him," He said softly in almost a whisper like it was the biggest secret either one had spoken.
She sighed resting her head on the palm of her hand as she had propped her elbow up on the door. "I still love him.... and this is gunna suck."
🐺
It was now the big game night, the game that Scott was was gunna be front and certain for. Stevie had been spacing in and out all day. Alec had nodded this and during every water break was with her. "You think you can do this tonight?" He asked nudging her side lightly.
They sat on the bench as Stevie was helping put on his padding. "I'm gunna have to be or else I might be going to the psych ward earlier than I already am." She muttered pulling her jacket closer her eye's wondering to Scott and Stiles.
"Scott!" Lydia called walking over and grabbing Scotts collar and pulling him towards her, "I just want you to remember one thing for tonight."
"Uh...winning isn't everything?" He asked unsure making her giggle, "Nobody likes a loser." She corrected before patting his chest and walking away.
"Stilinski!" Coach Finstock called it with more of a b. "Get over here!"
"I should probably get over there before I become B-Lewis." He remarked making her laugh a little.
"Good luck!" She called watching him run off before getting up and walking over towards the other cheerleaders.
"Huddle up! Now, that everyone is here." She started while clasping her hands together putting on her fakest smile. "I understand that it is cold so keep your jackets on. And you guys should've have already stretched and what not before hand but just keep it easy tonight. Nothing to big we don't want anyone to go out on a stretcher." She said as the whistled blew. "Showtime ladies!"
Stevie grabbed her poms poms knowing the beginning of the game she spent watching with the others since the focused was on the first point. "Please let this go okay," She muttered sitting down next to Stiles as he was clearly on edge had only glanced at the girl.
"Hey kid," Stiles Dad said leaning in between the two. "So, you think you'll see any action tonight?"
"Action?" He asked not taking his eyes off the field. "Maybe..." He trailed off as the Sheriff just looked between the two before taking his seat in the stands.
"He'll be fine," She whispered trying to help.
"How would you know that?"
"Because if he starts freaking out our alpha will take of everything." His eyes widen at the mere mention of an alpha. She smiled shaking her head. "She won't kill him, she knows how to calm someone down." She corrected as his eyebrows frowned. "The alpha isn't a guy?" She scoffed looking forward, "Our alpha is my mother."
The game started and her eyes stayed studied on the ball. The ball on the ground as both Scott and Jackson went after it. Which ended in Jackson shoulder checking Scott and sending him to the ground. The whistle blew after Jackson threw the ball into the net making the first point. Stevie cheered because she had to as cheerleader.
They saw Scotts face fall looking behind them making both turned to see Lydia and Allison holding up a 'We Love U Jackson' sign.
"Brutal."
"Oh, this not gonna be good." He said watching Scott run off. "This really isn't, is it?" She added.
It was now down the last minute and Stevie had to stand on the side lines, painting her biggest fakest smile posable. She was yelling one of the cheers she had memorized but stopped seeing Allison and Lydia holding up yet another sign. 'Jackson is #1'
"This game keeps getting better and better," She remarked before they went back to the game.
Watching the fight over the ball before the other team threw it up. And out of nowhere Scott jumped over the sea of players and caught the ball. Watching him dodge every player and than threw it straight into he net.
"Now that's what I'm talking about." She muttered noticing Alec had whispered the same thought to himself.
The whistle blew as everyone got back into position and than it blew again making the two fight over the ball. Which the opposing team got, and went to run off but stopped seeing Scott and than threw the ball at him.
"Did that guy give McCall the ball?" Stevie and Coach Finstock asked turning towards Stiles who shrugged. "Yes, I uh believe so." He muttered not looking away from the game.
Scott snaked through every player and chucked the ball to the net. The goalie tried to block it but it went through it, like it broke through the middle of the net causing the game to be tied. "Yes! Yes! Yes!" She cheered knowing her voice would probably be gone tomorrow. And now it was thirty-nine seconds left and the game was tied. She brought the pom poms up and under her chin as she watched what would happen next.
They win the fight and tossed the ball to Scott, and he went for the net but stopped. Looking around franticly. "Scott, no, no, no." She muttered walking closer to the field.
He snapped out of it and looked seeing two guys running towards him and he chucked it into the net with a second to spear.
She started punching the air and jumping around, trying to release all the energy that was built up. "WOW! Oh my god!" She ran onto the field and hugging Alec tightly both their smiles as wide as possible.
"That was the funniest game I've ever played!" He gushed as they started back to the bleachers looking for their parents. "Who would have known a beta could do that," She said hooking his arm through her's.
"Dude, I can totally do all of that. Can you help figure out how I can do all that without yellow eyeing the whole game?" He asked eagerly. "Yeah, sure, you name the time 'dude'." She teased punching his shoulder.
"Puppies!" Caroline called waving them over. As soon as they were in arms length she threw them into a hug. "You two did amazing,"
"Thank you mama," She said before looking down. "Did you get Derek out?'
Her face fell slightly, "I was gunna tell you this at home but yes. The medical examiner looked at the other half of the body they found. The examiner determined, killer of kill to be animal not human. Derek's human, not animal. Which makes Derek not the killer and was let out of jail."
"Well that's sorta great. I mean we don't have to worry about a werewolf in a jail cell." Alec remarked still trying to catch his breath.
Caroline looked down as her face soften, "Sheriff Stilinski did I.D.'d the dead girl both halves was Laura Hale."
🐺
"Derek!" Stevie yelled banging on the burned up door of the old remains of the Hale house. "Derek open this door before I break it down!"
"What do you want?" Derek asked standing to her right. Standing as far as possible from her on the porch. She stared at him with glossy eyes. "You didn't tell us it was Laura."
"What was I supposed to say, Stevie! Hey I'm back by the way my sister was chopped in half and I only found her upper half, wanna help?!"
"She was my friend, she was Perrie's best friends. She baby sat all of us!" She yelled getting closer to him. "And I lost my sister!" He yelled as the two were staring each down. Both started calming down, "I'm sorry about Laura." She said softly. "I'm sorry about leaving out of the blue." He said as the two were taking in the moment. It was like no time had gone by. Like it was the same feeling of when they last had been together.
"You know you can call if you need anything." She said knowing she had to go home.
"I know," He sighed out.
"So call me if you need anything....or even someone,"
