two

chapter two:
the Jenna thing

Hanna couldn't help but watch Charlie with awe, even as she sat along the other girls. She couldn't help but ignore them and watch Charlie.

She sat alone near the small table near the window, her eyes locked deeply onto a book. She would smile every often at something she read.

A small plate of fries laid beside her and her coffee cup was full, Hanna looked away, focusing on the girls as they all wondered who A was.

"Should we make sure Charlie isn't getting any weird messages either?". Hanna looked at Emily when she spoke the words.

Spencer huffed "even if she was. She won't tell us. Ever since last year she's kept to herself". Hanna felt the urge to just stand up and walk away.

The others were never very fond of Charlie like her and Emily. The duo was practically the two she trusted the most, it was always them.

Aria and Spencer never got along with Charlie, Hanna honestly didn't know why. She was an amazing person when you got to know her.

Emily leaned forward slightly a part of her hoping maybe Charlie wasn't apart of this A thing.

"Maybe she's not being messed with?" Hanna was the only one who smiled at the words. Spencer looked slightly disgusted for a moment "I doubt it, she looks like she has secrets".

Hanna rolled her eyes standing up slightly "I'll just go ask her" Charlie turned the page of her book. She practically heard Hannas high heels coming towards her. She smiled slightly to herself.

"Are you stalking me or something?" she turned slightly pushing her book close and leaning forward. "What's gotten you so eager to see me? I mean we haven't seen each other in months".

Hanna sat beside her going to set her purse along the table. Charlie placed her hand down onto the table making Hanna pause.

"I like sitting alone" Charlie moved her hand back. "You've been sitting here for two hours by yourself, I figured you'd want the company".

"You're definitely stalking me Han" she smiled and Hannas cheeks turned red slightly. "I won't stay long, just have a quick question".

Charlie set her cup down "is it about that lame ass message I got last night?" Hannas eyes widen slightly "so you got one too".

Charlie nodded as she looked at Hanna "I just blocked the number, gotta admit if that was your way if getting me to notice you, it worked".

She let out a soft breath "I mean we're sorta getting coffee together, although I can practically see the girls glaring at us, they sent you here".

"We just wanted to know if you got the message" Charlie shifted slightly, "what does it matter? It's just someone messing with us".

Charlie didn't find the message to be anything serious, it was simply just words on a screen. Surely someone found pleasure in the prank, Charlie wasn't surprised the girls sent Hanna over.

She'd confess anything if it meant she got to speak with Hanna. She pushed her book into her bag "you gonna walk me home? Or do I only get the pleasure of Hanna Marin, when she's stalking me".

Charlie stood up pushing her bag over her shoulder, "perhaps I'll consider us being friends again". Charlie set a tip onto the table and walked out of the shop, Hanna huffed and stood up.

She ignored the girls who were looking at her. She grabbed onto her purse running out of the shop "Charlotte wait up!". She walked toward the girl.

Charlie smiled slightly "I figured you'd run after me, I guess we can be friends again". As they walked down the road Hanna held onto herself.

Friends was a strong word, even if she held the love of an boyfriend. She couldn't help but ache for the love that was Charlotte Carter.

There was something about her that made Hanna feel completely insane. She remembered when they first meant, the way Charlie looked so cute.

That was the first time Hanna ever saw a girl as cute, part of her thought something was wrong with her for even thinking such a thing.

Charlie opened her door "mums out for the night and Jacks probably off somewhere with his annoying friends". Hanna walked inside, it looked the same for it being so long.

Charlie walked up the stairs opening her bedroom door, Hanna noticed everything looked so different. This wasn't the same as last time she saw it.

The walls were so plain, the posters that once were there, simply gone and surely ripped apart. Her bed itself held different covers and pillows.

The only thing that was the same was her bookshelf. Hanna noticed a few new books as she looked at it briefly.

Charlie set her bag weakly onto her desk chair letting out a light yawn. She pushed her jacket off throwing it into her hamper.

"If you want we can watch a movie" Charlie kicked her shoes into her closet and Hanna noticed right away. The collage of photos that were once on the door were completely gone.

Not a single photo laid around of the past, everything was bare and plain. Hanna sat down on the girls bed letting her purse sit on the floor.

"A movie sounds fun, although nothing scary" Charlie laughed lightly as she took her shirt off "oh I'm gonna find something scary now".

Normally something like this meant nothing to Hanna, they had changed in front of one another so many times. Why was this time so different.

Charlie's bare flesh turned something inside of her that she felt so disgusted to feel. This was wrong, she couldn't think of Charlie like that.

Not when she has a boyfriend, she was a loyal girlfriend she couldn't think of anyone else. But part of her ached to just think about Charlie.

The girls back was turned to her, she looked so concerned on finding the perfect shirt to wear. Hanna shifted on the bed slightly "you can sleep over if you want, my mum isn't gonna be back till morning".

Hanna let out a breath "I don't have anything" Charlie turned once more "you can just borrow my clothes, we're the same size".

She threw random clothes at Hanna the girl caught them smiling "thanks". Charlie put her shirt on and Hanna set her high heels beside her purse.

"I don't get how you can wear those things" Charlie walked towards her dresser grabbing a pair of pajama pants, no longer feeling the need to wear jeans. They were so uncomfortable.

Charlie didn't seem phased when Hanna took her shirt off to change quickly. But the second Charlie took her jeans off Hanna couldn't help but pause.

She felt the butterflies in her stomach go insane as she tried her best to look away. Charlie blinked noticing Hanna standing there.

"Is something wrong?" Hanna didn't even notice Charlie walk towards her "uh I just realized I don't have my charger, but I'm sure it'll be fine".

Charlie laughed lightly "you can just use mine, it's on my desk if you need it". Hanna nodded looking away from Charlie when her shirt lifted slightly.

"I'll go get some popcorn, you figure out what we're gonna watch" Hanna turned when she heard the door open and close.

Hanna couldn't bring herself to pay attention to the movie, not when Charlie was sitting so close to her. Every so often her flesh would touch hers.

The feeling of it made Hanna pause every single time, Charlie didn't notice it at all. Her eyes looking at the television, as she pushed popcorn into her mouth. Charlie screamed at the sudden jump scare in the movie her entire body slamming into Hanna.

Her flesh was cold, soothing Hanna's in a way as she felt the soft skin of her stomach graze her arm slightly. Hanna felt her cheeks flush when Charlie looked at her with a smile.

Hanna adored the smile plastered on her lips, the way it made the entire room shine in a way. Hanna never noticed that her hair was slightly darker until now when the light hit it.

Charlie's fingers were cold when they touched Hanna's cheek "you've gotten popcorn kernels on your cheek, how'd you manage to do that".

Hanna covered her flustered moment with a laugh but it faded after a moment. She noticed how close Charlie was now, her face inches away from hers.

She ached to see what Charlie's lips felt like against hers, but it'd be wrong. She was with someone and it wouldn't be fair to just kiss someone else.

For all she knew Charlie would push her out of her life once more. The kiss would break them apart so fast, so Hanna let the thought fade.

She went to look away from the girl and make a comment about how the movie wasn't actually that scary. But she felt it, the coldness of Charlie's lips against hers.

It happened so fast the mere action of it taking the breath out of Hanna's lungs. Charlie was hovering over her body her fingers wrapping around her face.

Hanna ignored the urge to push Charlie away, to shout at her and call her crazy. She'd cry for hours after this, in the loneliness of her room.

She was an awful person, she was an even more awful girlfriend for giving in to Charlie's affections so fast. She pressed her hands into Charlie's flesh.

Her eyes closing as she deepened the kiss, she felt the heavy breathing of Charlie when she moved back slightly. That one second of air made her realize she was really an awful person.

Hanna felt like crying because she realized just how much she enjoyed the kiss. No one has ever kissed her like that before, not even Sean.

Charlie must've realized what she did as well because her face looked blank. "Shit,uh I'm sorry" she pushed herself off Hanna.

"It's okay Charlie" the girl seemed on edge as she walked towards her bedroom door. "It's not okay, I shouldn't have done that".

Charlie walked out of the room, she felt like such a shitty person. As she leaned into her doorway, letting herself have a moment of silence.
