as (y/n) struts her way towards her main door with a cup of hot chocolate on her hand, she yawned, annoyance rushing through her veins. who would've ever thought that her supposedly long and peaceful sleep got interrupted at a time like this? "ugh. i hate this." she groaned quite loudly, but she was sure that even shinra won't be able to hear that, for she's now standing in front of her main door, which was farther away from his temporary room. time for some fresh air, i guess.

it was cold out, which made (y/n) grateful that she wore the perfect clothing for the occasion, which was a hoodie and a pair of warm sweatpants. "good thing that i brought some hot chocolate with me." she sighed out, blankly staring towards the beautiful sky that was filled with nothing but brightly shining stars. it was beautiful.

"up so early, huh?" a voice suddenly says from behind her, which caused the (h/c)nette to yelp in surprise, nearly losing her balance. fortunately for her, the figure caught her fair physique in the nick of time, gently holding onto her delicate body. "good morning, (y/n)." the male said with a smile plastered on his face.

the female rolled her (e/c)-colored orbs and gave shinra's soft, black locks a ruffle, but since (y/n) seemed to have put a little force in her action, shinra was sure that she's currently annoyed. "too much public display of affection early in the morning is not advised, dear. and why are you even up this early!? geez." she growled towards the male, pissed.

"because i'm your hero, baka. what do you even plan to do this early? go read a book?" shinra rolled his eyes as he sat on (y/n)'s doorstep, feeling a strong pang of sleepiness rush through his system, but of course, he fought it to keep her company.

breathing out, the (h/c)nette sat beside him before taking a sip from her warm drink, not bothering to open up another conversation as she felt the cold early morning breeze brush through her sensitive skin. shinra seemed to have noticed her situation and therefore making him wrap the (h/c)nette into his warm embrace. "it's chilly so you better stay close." the black-haired male started, the small smile on his face fading away.

meanwhile, (y/n) didn't seem to bother at all. instead, she snuggled closer onto him as a grin crept up her features. "thanks." she murmured and even though her tone was almost inaudible, shinra's ears didn't fail to hear the female's word of gratitude.

both stayed silent after their short interaction, shinra tightening his hug on (y/n) whenever he felt the wind hitting them to make sure that his female companion is on top shape. his smile of nervousness didn't show up, though. normally, he would be too anxious to even be close with a lady, but since his mind was currently filled with his depthless thoughts, he didn't bother to feel that way at all.

"hey, (y/n)." shinra called with the lowest voice he can possibly pull off, catching the latter's attention and when he was sure that she was attentively listening to whatever he has to say, he spoke once more. "if i ever get to travel back to my world, would you ever... you know, miss me?"

the (h/c)nette batted her eyelashes towards his direction, sighing as shinra's question started to sink in before she slightly pushed the crimson-eyed male a few centimeters away from her.

the latter was confused as to why (y/n) acted that way. did he say something wrong? or did she not wanna talk about it? he didn't know what was up, but somehow, another set of thoughts came rushing through shinra's mind. however, he was snapped back to reality when he felt (y/n)'s oh-so luscious lips connected onto his own as her delicate hands cupped his cheeks. "of course, baka. who wouldn't miss someone they like since day 1?" she said, mumbling the last sentence to herself, trying so hard not to make shinra hear what she just said.

unfortunately, he did.
