육십. Forthcoming love.

Sunoo wiped his tears, sniffling a bit opening the door, as he met eyes with Kaito waiting on the side, his body leaning on the wall. Kaito jolted up, looking concernedly at Sunoo.

"Did he make you cry?" Kaito asked, making Sunoo's tears come down yet again. It was no use wiping them, hugging Kaito for comfort.

Although he was startled, Kaito placed his hands on Sunoo's soft pink hair, caressing them to calm him down.

"I don't know what to do, Kaito, I don't know what to do.." Sunoo mumbled, his head going foggy and aching from all the sobbing.

Why can't he just say it? Tell Niki he loves him, but he was just so paranoid that after everything that happened, Niki still hated him from the bottom of his heart.

"He hates me, he hates me a lot-"

"Niki doesn't hate you-"

"He does. I made him cry, I promised him ever since I saw him again that I won't hurt his feelings like last time, what do I keep doing wrong.." Sunoo's body dropped, falling on his knees with his hands covering his face. His heart was literally aching, he felt like punching someone, he felt like hitting himself.

"He waited for four years, and it leads to me doing all the stupid things I did back then. I hate myself-" Sunoo's hand came flying to hit his chest aggressively, making Kaito grab his wrist to stop doing so. Kaito pulled Sunoo in a hug, caressing his hair as always to calm him down.

"You don't have to talk, just cry." Sunoo spent a good amount of minutes crying on Kaito's shoulder, Taki and Hana on the end of the hallway watching, feeling bad for both Sunoo and Niki.

-

Sunoo dried his face with a damp towel, looking at himself in the mirror, hissing at his swollen eyes.

"Anyone could tell I was crying.." Sunoo mumbled, closing the lights of the bathroom and heading to the dining room.

"Good morning." Sunoo smiled at them as everyone looked concerned.

"Guys I'm fine."

"Are you? Your eyes are so..red." Taki commented, making Sunoo suck on his teeth. He cried pretty hard last night so of course the next day it would take effect.

"The one you guys should really check on still sleeping." Kaito mentally rolled his eyes, wondering why Sunoo would still think even the slightest bit to care for Niki.

"We're supposed to be checking in on you, he made YOU cry." Kaito fought back, making Sunoo raise an eyebrow and tilt his head.

"That's not- That's not what happened. It's..between me and Niki, you guys don't have to worry that much." Sunoo assured them, heading to the refrigerator.

"Do you have a sports drink?" Sunoo asked Taki as he pointed at the bottle of Gatorade on the side of the chiller.

"Why?" Hana asked.

"Sports drinks help with hangovers, I'll give it to Niki." Sunoo went his way to exit the dining room when Kaito caught up and grabbed his wrist.

"Are you serious?" Kaito asked, scoffing from unbelievability.

"What's wrong?" Sunoo replied, not knowing why Kaito was fuming.

"You- He- Why are you being so nice to him? Why would you be kind to someone who hurt you-"

"I get that you care for me, but Niki's not an asshole, he's just hurt-"

"Oh my god, you're seriously buying his sobbing? Once he's sober, he's going to push you away again, is that what you want?" Sunoo gripped on the bottle, looking at the floor before looking at Kaito seriously in the eyes.

"You don't know that. Don't get in between me and Niki, please. I'm trying to patch things up." Sunoo sighed, patting Kaito's shoulder before heading inside the room where he sees Niki sitting down on the edge of the bed.

Niki sees Sunoo's presence, putting off his phone and putting it on the nightstand.

"Here's uh, sports drink, it helps with hangovers." Sunoo smiled a bit as Niki took a sip and placed it on the nightstand as well. Sunoo hesitated a bit but sat down beside Niki, about to say something when Niki went ahead of him.

"About yesterday..I'm sorry." Niki mumbled as Sunoo smiled softly.

"You don't have to apologize." Niki turned his head to Sunoo, seeing him so bright at such a bad moment made him wonder why. Why would he smile, when Niki should really be on his knees and begging for Sunoo's acceptance.

"Do you love me?" Sunoo asked with a smile, making Niki startled, a lot.

"Cause I love you."

Niki inhaled sharply at Sunoo's words, feeling his eyes water for the nth time on the trip. Why would Sunoo hit him in the morning with such a question? He tried his best for a tear not to fall, Sunoo's sweet words ringing in his ears, echoing basically.

"I.." Niki mumbled, looking at Sunoo right in the eye, pursing his lips so he doesn't break down.

"I can't answer that right now."

Sunoo's gaze turned to floor, already expecting that answer, and he was right. Niki peeked at Sunoo, seeing him look upset but smiling a bit at the same time.

"Well..I'm planning to go back to Korea soon, so uh, just answer me whenever." Sunoo pat his lap, standing up and giving Niki one last smile before exiting the room.

Sunoo closed the door, tears immediately falling from his eyes. It's not that Niki said no, but the fact that he had to wait. He doesn't know how long it will take, and he can't even guarantee he'll love Niki forever. A part of him said he will, another part said move on.

He gathered all his physical and emotional strength, wiping his tears and heading to eat breakfast.

-

The whole ride back home, Sunoo sat in silence, looking out the window.

"I'm sorry for earlier." Kaito spoke.

"Hm? No it's okay, you were just worried for me." Sunoo replied, smiling softly at the one driving.

"Still, I felt like I said something wrong." Sunoo hummed, chuckling afterwards.

"It's really okay." Sunoo assured him, noticing that they're near to Sunoo's apartment already. He fixed his clothes, putting on his shoes since he got a bit too comfortable, and checking the backseat if his bags are also ready.

"Thank you for the ride, I really appreciate it. Thank for accompanying me to the trip too, it was really sweet." Sunoo smiled, opening the door and grabbing his things from the backseat. Kaito got out afterwards, helping to carry one bag.

"Wait, Sunoo."

Sunoo turned his head back, to see Kaito going through his phone.

"I know that you don't want me to do this for you but uh..I bought you a plane ticket online, one for you and one for your mom."

Sunoo gasped, taking Kaito's phone and gasping even more.

Okayama, Japan - Seoul, Korea

"Kaito! Why-"

"A plane ticket is really expensive, and considering that you told me you really want to go back, I wasted no time to buy you tickets." Kaito smiled, making Sunoo's lips shiver. This was the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for him.

"I can't take this, you can just give them to someone else-"

"It already has your name, dummy."

Sunoo smiled widely, at loss of words.

"This is..a really big gift. I'll do anything you want, I swear." Sunoo pleaded, making Kaito rest his hands on Sunoo's shoulders.

"Just..make sure to give me an answer."

Ah, right.

Sunoo bit his gums, feeling his heart beat fast. Who's wouldn't when someone you have mixed feelings for goes out their way to do a grand gesture?

"I will think really hard about it. Thank you, so so much, you don't understand how grateful I am." Sunoo hugged Kaito real tight, before smiling one last time and heading back to his apartment where he greeted his mother with the great news.

Wait for me, Sunoo.

Yes, I really meant this chapter to be short dw it's part of my very frustrating but happy(ish) ending :)
