예순두. I hate you = I love you.
"Look at you, you've gotten thin!" Sunoo's mom complained, making Sunoo rolls his eyes. He was visiting the home that took care of his mother and she was more than happy to see her son. He's been so packed with work that he doesn't have time to visit.
"I'm eating well, don't worry." Sunoo smiled, caressing Ddeon's fur. He hasn't seen Ddeon in so long, he left the cat with his Jake and Sunghoon hyung and he missed the presence of his own pet that he won't let him go.
"Why don't you just take him now?" Sunoo's mom complained, making him raise his eyebrows.
"Are you sure? It seems like you grew an attachment already, and I don't think my house isn't that big for him to play in."
"Sunoo! You burdened me with your cat for six months, and you have a big house, bigger than this whole nursing home, you take him!" Sunoo knew his mother didn't like pets, so it's understandable she was irked.
"I'll come to pick him up later after work, I have to get going, I'm eating breakfast with a friend."
"No wonder you're so thin!" The man ran away before getting more scolding from his mother as Ddeon purred lowly, his boba-looking eyes directed towards Mrs. Kim.
"What? Don't look at me like that, I don't like you."
-
"What do you feel like eating?" Kaito smiled, as Sunoo thought. He's not able to do much groceries these days since he's busy with work, and he really craved something sweet at the moment.
"Pancakes?" Sunoo hummed, smiling as they both looked for a breakfast place near them.
Whilst Sunoo looked through google maps, someone bumped him.
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry!" The woman bowed, as she made eye contact with him. Sunoo gulped, grabbing Kaito's hand, gripping it.
"Hi, Sunoo." She softly smiled, genuinely happy to see him again.
"..Runa?" Kaito spoke as she fluttered her eye.
"I didn't know you two..knew each other." She chuckled, making Sunoo's serious face turn a bit soft. Something about her changed.
Not just because she's wearing a suit, has short hair, and looks more mature than ever, her tone seems to have changed too. If before, she was rude and mean, she's now kind and sincere.
"Listen, I'm sorry."
Kaito and Sunoo jolted their head up as she apologized, looking down on the floor.
"To the both of you."
-
"So you're uh, you're friends with my friends now." Sunoo awkwardly smiled, sipping a bit of the coffee Runa bought him and Kaito.
"I'm sorry for not contacting you over it-"
"No it's fine, they can be friends with anyone they want, although it's a bit of a shock though."
"At first, I was ashamed to be friends with them cause they all seemed so much better than me, but they're one of the reasons why I changed. I got a better life, I got a job as a lawyer, I have a good house too. Your friends are amazing, Sunoo-ssi." Sunoo's heart warmed, it really does look like she has changed.
"I want to leave everything behind-"
"I know, I want to leave it too. Let's..be on good terms." Sunoo smiled, making Runa cover her mouth with happiness. She's been waiting for everyone she has done wrong to, apologize and make things better and now she has.
"I'm sorry too, Kaito-"
"It's not your fault, It's mine. I made you hate Ni-ki, and I won't ever forgive myself for that." Runa nodded at Kaito's words until she snapped her fingers.
"By the way, is Ni-ki in Korea?"
Sunoo's head jolted up yet again, eyes fluttering. There's no way he would be in Korea, if he was, Sunoo would feel it by now.
"Cause I stopped by for coffee at a cafe two days ago and I think I saw him there? He had black hair, so I'm not sure if it was really him."
Sunoo's eyes widen, accidentally knocking over the open sachet of creamer.
"I-I'm so sorry." He awkwardly chuckled, trying to get himself together.
"Maybe I'm wrong..do you think he's here for Jay and Jungwon's wedding?" Runa asked, seeing the discomfort in Sunoo's eyes as she immediately shut her mouth.
"Ah, by the way, are you guys..dating?" Runa asked with a teasing tone, making Sunoo and Kaito smile a bit.
"I guess, you could say that." Kaito replied, smiling at Sunoo as he smiled back.
"Is that why you grabbed his hand earlier? Because you're afraid I'll take him?" Runa laughed, making Sunoo flustered. She was spot on and it made him feel embarrassed.
"I hope the best for you guys. Let's all meet again soon, I have to get going now though, I have a court trial in an hour, fighting!" Runa smiled widely, saying her goodbye before grabbing her bag and heading out of the cafe.
"Aw, you were scared she'll take me away?" Kaito cooed, as Sunoo hit his shoulder.
"Shut up." Sunoo pouted, looking out the window. What Runa said didn't leave his head. Ni-ki can't possibly be in Korea, he has a whole company to run, and for sure he wouldn't wanna see Sunoo after everything.
-
"Good job, everyone!" Sunoo congratulated the group he was working with, the members bowing and heading out of the studio as he rested his back on the chair.
He really loved his job but sometimes it could be really exhausting.
"It's nine in the evening already?" He grabbed his coat and put it on, putting his phone inside one of the big pockets. Going to his car and drove out of the company, heading to his mother's nursing home to pick up Ddeon.
He had his hands on the steering, stepping on the breaks when a red light showed up. He was pretty tired to the point he was yawning.
When a figure walking caught his eyes.
The man was wearing a grey coat with an all-black outfit with earphones plugged onto his ears.
Sunoo's mouth immediately closed, getting out of the car and tiptoeing to see the man again but the cars behind were covering him, losing sight of the said guy.
Startled with the sudden honking of other cars, getting inside his car with a confused face, driving through the green light.
-
"Stay here, Ddeon, don't make a mess." Sunoo smiled at the cat, closing the backseat door and heading inside the convenience store.
He hasn't eaten dinner and his stomach's been rumbling all day, so he decided to stop by a convenience store he saw on the way home, probably buying cup noodles.
Sunoo went through the aisle that sold a bunch of countless flavors of cup noodles. He reached down to grab a spicy one, thinking hard about it.
Eating spicy before going to sleep isn't a good idea.
Whilst standing up, he knocked over the other spicy cup noodles, hissing at his mistake.
"Thank you." Sunoo thanked the person helping him pick up the food and put it back in its place, as Sunoo looked at him in the eye, falling on his butt on the floor.
"You okay?" The man asked, smiling softly.
"You..how.." Sunoo mumbled, slowly standing up and aggressively rubbing his eyes to see if its a dream.
Ow!
He pinched himself.
It's not a dream?
-
"Wait, Sunoo!" The man followed him, as Sunoo panicked, trying to get back inside his car but failed to do so when the guy grabbed his wrist.
"You left, and not even a hello?" Sunoo yanked his wrist out of his grip, gulping a big lump.
"I..I have nothing to say to you, Ni-ki." Sunoo opened his car door, only for Ni-ki to grab his wrist again.
"Nothing?" Ni-ki asked, making Sunoo feel unbelieved.
"Look, Ni-ki. I have a boyfriend."
Ni-ki laughed, making Sunoo's furrow his eyebrows. What was so funny about that?
"Who?" Ni-ki dared to ask.
"Kaito."
Ni-ki pursed his lips, expecting it. It was shocking yet predictable. Sunoo huffed, opening his car door when Ni-ki opened that mouth of his again.
"I'm not trying to pick a fight, Sunoo hyung. I came here for Jay and Jungwon hyungs wedding. When I landed here, you were the first person I thought of. But when I saw you having such a good life with Kaito, I don't even think to bother you anymore. I'm sorry I'm late. If you really do love Kaito, I wish you the best. I just want to let you know I'm sorry, that's why I followed you all the way here."
Sunoo's brain went foggy from processing all that Ni-ki said, biting his lip.
"You did nothing wrong. You just stepped in when I already have someone I really like, and I'm sorry that it's not you."
Sunoo tried his best to smile at that moment at least a bit, heading inside his car with the plastic bag with his food and driving away before Ni-ki could see his upset face.
His hands gripped the steering wheel hard, trying to get himself to hold his tears. He won't cry over someone he thought he wouldn't wait for any more, right? He's too late, Ni-ki's too late.
He likes Kaito now. And that won't change.
He wanted to scream his lungs out, keeping himself sane so he doesn't crash and get into an accident.
"Ni-ki..you're so..mean." Sunoo mumbled with a broken voice.
No, he doesn't like Ni-ki. No way.
"Why do you keep doing this to me..to us.."
-
