서른일곱. It has to be you - I don't want it to be you.
"Thank you, come back again!" Sunoo shouted from the cashier, sighing deeply and sitting down with an exhausted position. He reached for his phone beside the cash register, seeing a notification from his mother.
Mom <3
I will be working late today. There's food in the fridge, get home safely! I love you!
Sunoo threw his head back, murmuring an 'again'. The staff only door slid open as the boy immediately placed his phone inside his pocket, standing up with a proper and polite position.
"Oh, it's just you." Sunoo sat back down as his friend placed her hand on his head.
"Manager told me to take your shift." She hestirecally chuckled.
"Awh, well after all I am his favorite." She grabbed a fistful of his hair as he hissed, slapper her wrist off his shiny locks.
"Emi-kun!" Sunoo turned his head to her as her finger indicated he should get out of his seat. Sunoo rolled his eyes, standing up as Emi sat down - the younger boy crossing his arms.
"You can leave now." She shooed him away as he scoffed with a bit of attitude.
"Why? Aren't you happy you can go home early to your mom?" Emi placed both her hands on the sides of her head.
"No, she's working late." Sunoo smiled back, getting his cap from the lower cabinet. She patted his head, a lightbulb appearing above her head.
"Since you can stay late~" Emi cooed as he furrowed his eyebrows, facing her smirking figure.
"No."
"Ahh, come one Sunoo-kun! You're so boring sometimes." She scoffed as he squinted his eyes from confusion.
"The last time you dragged me to go clubbing, I had to carry you back to your house. Even your mom felt sorry for me!" He complained, before Emi clasped her hands in his.
"Please~ I won't drink much, I promise." She tried persuading the pink haired boy with her cute puppy like eyes. They've known each other for a year, and honestly - Sunoo couldn't say no to her. She always found a way to win him over. Deciding where to eat? She wins. Deciding what movie to watch? She wins. Deciding if they should go clubbing? She wins yet again.
Sunoo placed his hand behind his hair, ruffling it before nodding his head.
"EE! Thank you, Sunoo-kun! Let's go!" Emi grabbed her coat that was hanging by the chair before his lips parted.
"What about your shift?" She grabbed his hands right when he finishied his sentence.
"I'll call manager later, let's go!" Emi closed the lights, dragging him outside and quickly closing the store with all her energy.
"We're gonna lose our jobs." Sunoo complained to the older girl as she giggled and placed her arm around his shoulder.
-
"You guys should come back next week!" Emi's friend that owned the club waved his hand, as Emi drunkly waved back. Sunoo politely smiled and placed her arm over his shoulder to support her body.
He dragged her through the back exit of the club where he pushed the metal door open with his foot.
"We will certainley not come back." He murmured, groaning as Emi drunkly giggled.
"You said you won't drink much, guess who's clinging on to her junior now." Sunoo sort of limped to the alley where the quiet street was seen.
Sunoo found it hard to carry her, again, and he for sure was just gonna have to call a cab for the both of them.
He rested her body by the brick wall, where her head fell on shoulder as he rested his head on the brick wall.
He heard a car's tires stop, immediately thinking it was a cab. He leaned over to see if it was. He saw a black matte car, with a bodyguard opening the door.
Sunoo's eyes averted to the shiny black shoes of the figure that stepped out of the vehicle, eyes going up to see a man roughly his age in a suit.
The bodyguard closed the door, arm indicating he shall walk inside the establishment.
The eyes, nose, lips and physique of the man all felt quite familiar. He had blonde hair, a figure that was estimated to about 6'5, he sure was tall, even taller than the bodyguard.
The car and establishment wasn't so far away from him so he could slightly hear what they were talking about.
"He's here, sir."
"I'll be fine, thank you."
Wait,
I know that voice.
"Sunoo-kun~"
Sunoo widened his eyes when Emi drunkly spoke his name with a loud tone. Sunoo hid behind the wall, furrowing his eyebrows at her and covering her mouth.
After about 1 minute, he tilted his head yet again to see the car gone, and the man was gone as well. Sunoo deeply sighed, flicking Emi's head.
"Why you hurt me!" She whined.
"Shut up." Sunoo hissed at her, dragging her to the other side of the street to get a cab.
-
The man entered the club, seeing the colorful strobe lights and tons of people dancing with bartenders giving drinks and drunk men flirting with innocent women.
He handed the black glasses to his 2nd bodyguard, making his way to the office of the club owner which was located upstairs.
"Sir." The manager bowed, feeling the strong presence of the man standing in front of him. He sat down and crossed a leg over the other as the manager gave a schedule in a brown clipboard.
"Here is the schedule you asked for. The event will be held on Friday and the club will be reserved." The man flipped the page - slowly nodding as he listened to the manager's words.
"You make sure there won't be any trouble. Last time I reserved an event here, one of your employees harassed mine. Don't make the same mistake." His now standing 6'5 figure towered over the gulping manager, nodding nervously.
"Good." He placed the clipboard gently on the coffee table, turning around as his bodyguard opened the door - the audio of the speakers placed on max volume immediately heard.
"Do you.."
Do you know someone named Kim Sunoo.
The man lowered and tilted his head, clicking his tongue from frustration.
"Nevermind." He straightened his shoulders, turning his head with a soft smile.
"Have a safe trip home,
Sir Nishimura."
-
Sunoo took off his shoes with an exhausted aura, lazily dragging his own feet to the couch and plopping down on it.
His mother's bedroom door opened as he saw his mom smiling.
"You're home!" She sat beside her son and planted a kiss on his forehead. Sunoo sat up and placed his head on top of her shoulder, followed by a sigh.
"Tiring day?" She asked whilst ruffling his hair.
"Emi dragged me to the club. Again." She chuckled at her 24 year old son, slapping his palm gently.
"Did you bring her back to her house?" Sunoo nodded, earning a pat from his mother.
"Alright, wash up. I'll be going to bed after some work done on my laptop." She kissed his hair and went back to her room as Sunoo clutched a pillow.
"Mom?" Sunoo called her out as she hummed, turning her figure back to him.
"Is it possible to see someone you haven't seen for years?" He asked out of nowhere.
"Why? Are your friends here?" She asked with a delighted tone. She loved it when Sunoo talked about his friends, he knew that those 5 were always there for him to make her son happy. She couldn't be anymore thankful.
"No, just asking."
"Ahh. Well, there may be a fifty percent chance? Whoever you're talking about, I'm sure they miss you too." She smiled before closing her bedroom door as Sunoo deeply exhaled.
Miss me?
Why would he miss me when I hurt him..
-
The man's figure opened his large bedroom that was what you could say modern. He had a great scenery, a glass sliding door to his balcony, a walk in closet, a neat and modern bathroom with night black painted walls.
He placed his coat by his chair, sitting down on the edge of his bed.
His pocket vibrated, a message from his close friend seen.
Jake hyung
How are you doing, Riki? I hope you see this message. We're all worried for you.
Right, his friends. He couldn't count how many times his friends messaged him. Well of course, he hasn't responded to them in 4 years.
He knows they didn't do anything wrong, he just wants to forget everything that happened when he had his time in Korea.
He's surprised that even after 4 years, his friends still didn't forget to check up on him. It almost made him feel guilty. Well, he did feel guilty.
He exited the messaging app, slightly gasping at his homescreen.
He doesn't even know why he had their picture as his homescreen. It made him feel pained again.
He immediately sat up, a hand on his head whilst squinting his eyes.
He's not coming back.
Stop hoping he'll come back to you.
He doesn't love you.
He groaned, throwing his phone to the edge of the bed, both his hands on his face that almost had tears running on his cheeks.
"He's here sir." His dear bodyguard spoke as he nodded.
"I'll be fine, thank you." He softly smiled at the one keeping him safe when he heard a ruffle from the back alley of the club.
"Sunoo-kun~"
His eyes had widened, eyebrows furrowed. It was a look of nervousness and fear mixed. His head started banging inside, making him stumble. His bodyguard held him tight, checking if he was okay.
"Sir, are you all right?!" The bodyguard asked.
"I-I'm fine, no worries." He pat the shoulder of the one holding him, fixing his posture before he entered the club.
"God, you're so stupid Riki.." He murmured under his breath, brushing his hair back from frustration.
I don't want to get my hopes up. You left me. There's no way you'd want me back.
