Family| Mother - Sylvia Vernon-Marks (21 when she gave birth to Dia. Currently Alics) They have a pretty rocky relationship. While she tried to fine her daughter as much as she could, she was still young and didn't quite know what to do. Sylvia herself grew up in the strict household so she ran her own house the same way in a desperate attempt to make sure her daughter didn't make the same mistakes.

Father - Unknown. According to her mother, her father was a year older than Sylvia. Also according to her mother they had only dated for a few months before she left him when she dropped out of collage.

Step dad- Richard Marks (alive, 42). They have a terrible relationship. She doesn't like him very much and kind of wants him to just go away. Richard is a very strict man and kind of has a bad temper. Not to mention his drinking problem. She kind of hates his guts.

Grandparents - Stephanie Vernon (78, and deceased ), John Vernon (93 and deceased )

Cousin- Rosaline (47, alive ) she had a decent relationship with her cousin. She was kind of like her mother for a shirt period of time.

Back story| Dia was down do Sylvia, a 21 year old collage dropout. She was living with her (now ex) boyfriend—who was not Dia's father. Sylvia worked as a store clerk and as a intern at a company. Her boyfriend worked both as a waiter and mediocre singer at a bar.

Of course like many if Sylvia's relationships, her boyfriend broke up with her. Dia was around two years old during this time. Sylvia moved out of their apartment and moved into her cousin's apartment with Dia. Sylvia got another job and began to save up money for her own apartment. Rosaline and Dia for along great, she even got her enrolled in school when she was six. Dia even made a few friends at school, a girl name Piper and a boy named Phillip. They stayed friends up until the second grade when Sylvia met Richard Marks and starting dating him. He even got her a job to beautiful secretary at a local fabrics company, where he also worked.

Soon Richard and Sylvia moved into a house together, moving Diana to a new school. She struggled to make friends at this school, even becoming a victim a bullying. She allowed it, both because she was ashamed and she knew the kid was probably just going through something. This would persist for years and its not like her home life was better. Richard and her mother had gotten married during this time. A few months into the marriage Richard had gotten into a car crash. He turned from a sweet man to a drunk and a dictator over the household. Dia would try her best to be the perfect daughter. And whenever Richard would tell her to be quiet or do something she did. She would soon learn that her words were unless or that she was stupid.

At school she just kept her head down, did her work, but art class was her escape. Sure, she didn't like having rules on her art but it have her something to do, something to look forward to. She could always pick up a pencil and paper and escape. Sure, the bullying could get bad and yeah, home life wasn't great but she could have something that was fully her own. Something enjoyable.

One day while she was doodling on her finished work she saw one of her bullies pick on the new kid. The new kid was this tiny boy who's parents just got devoiced and Dia took pity on him. So she waited till PE. It was hot out so the teacher made them go outside, walk around the track. She caught up with her bullies and threw the first punch. After all violence and mean words were what she knew that could fix the situation. Its what she knew at school and at home. Plus, she was able to let all of her anger on a boy who deserved it in her eyes. On course the bully fought back and she was hurt behind belief, but so was he. She even broke his nose, of course her arm was broken after that too. The teacher ripped the two apart, and her parents were called.

All hell broke out at home and she was ground, sent to her room. That's when she had her first vision, turns out the fight unlocked her abilities.

After weeks and weeks of hearing the loudness of everyone's thoughts, and the maddening visions. She had to tell her mother, she was hearing things that she shouldn't hear, that she didn't want to hear. She was seeing things that she would never wanted to see. She saw so much hurt and human suffering. She told her mother, who told her step father. And that ended more poorly than the fight did.

While her parents were thinking of where go send her a few days later, Charles Xavier came to their door. He purposed that she would go to his school, he told her parents it was because of her grades and he's art—which at this point had been posted on the school's page and she had won multiple awards. Her parents didn't want her in the house anymore, she was a mutant. And this saved them from the embarrassment of telling people that she was one. So they put her in the school. Leaving her alone. She was twelve when this happened.

The school and Charles taught her how to drown out the voices of peoples thoughts and what to do whenever she has one of her visions.
