chapter one:
the right way

RIGHT

"Did she say right? I swear acoustics in here aren't that good" Lucas mumbled beneath his breath as the trio slowly moved along the cave. The lack of light made it harder to see, Daniel really didn't come that best prepared. The flashlights he so generously let Lucas and Mira borrow, were flicking like crazy due to lack of battery power. He didn't know he needed to change the batteries after two years of them sitting inside his parent's junk drawer.

They were lucky they even turned on at this rate, Daniel stood in the front. Which he already regretted deeply when he stepped inside a muddy puddle, he cringed as he pushed his way forward. "Are we sure she went this way? I swear I can't hear her anymore".

"It's gotta be this way" Lucas stated as he smacked his flashlight, it stopped flickering for a few seconds before it turned back on. He screamed when Elizabeth was standing right in front of him, blood dripping down her forehead and her eyes pure white.

The flashlight turned off, the darkness making him tense as he tried to breath. When it flickered back on Elizabeth wasn't in front of him anymore, Mira was staring at him with a look of confusion. "You alright? You screamed like a girl for a second there".

He let out a weak chuckle "uh you didn't see that?" He looked around to make sure he wasn't losing his mind. Mira kept walking "I think you're just being paranoid, all those ghost stories you've been reading".

"It's actually paranormal stories" he forced out as he turned down the pathway with her, "wait, where's Daniel?". The duo paused and Mira's flashlight went out making her huff "well I thought he was with you, he must've ran off ahead trying to find Liz".

They pushed way through a tight space and while Mira didn't seem all that worried about the sudden quietness, Lucas was still freaking out from before. "So you think those two are ever going to just attempt they like each other?". Mira chuckled slightly as she looked at Lucas "what Liz and Daniel? There's no way she'd ever go for him, doesn't she like hate him? I mean they're always butting heads at this point".

Lucas shrugged "I think it's her way of flirting, she hasn't told me anything but I'm sure she's into him, or maybe I'm just looking too much into it". Lucas spotted a flashlight in the distance, he ran towards it "isn't this Liz's" He kneeled down looking at the cracked glass. He could see a small hint of blood at the end of it making him turn to face Mira.

Expect she wasn't there anymore, "Mira?" he stood up and looked around in confusion "where the hell is everyone". He clutched his flashlight closer against his chest as he walked ahead quickly.

"You guys! If this is your way of trying to scare me, then it's working!" he laughed nervously as he turned to the right. The pathway felt more rough on his shoes, sharp pieces of rocks and glass digging into the soles as he pointed his flashlight forward.

He couldn't see much besides endless piles of rocks and glass, the occasional broken flashlight or lantern that seemed older than him. It seemed many people have been down this cave, that alone was terrifying since he's never heard any stories. The news normally kept this place quiet, it was forbidden to even think about, he mentioned it once at the library and the silence that followed after made him laugh awkwardly.

The town dreaded this place, if you whispered about it then all that would remain was silence. Maybe some judgement and fear but Lucas liked the idea of mystery's. How many people had been in his shoes before, alone inside a cave with his friends no where to be seen. He let out a grunt when he smacked straight into a wall, his flashlight falling out of his hand and instantly breaking.

"Oh no" he let out a panicked breath both of the flashlights he had were broken, the only spare witch with Liz who was no where to be found. Mira had the other one and now that he was thinking about it. Did Daniel even have one? He saw the boy giving it to Mira when the girl refused to grab one from Liz.

He could hear a muffled clicking noise making him tense as he tried to turn his flashlight on. "Come on" he smacked it and the light flickered for one solid second before it stopped working. He pushed himself back into the wall when the clicking noise got louder.

"Guys!" whatever it was it sounded like it was getting closer, the loud sound of it made his ears ache as he pushed himself more into the wall. "Lucas" his flashlight turned on but the light source was red, he screamed when blood began to ooze out of it.

The clicking noise turned into a creepy giggle "we've been waiting for you Lucas" he dropped the flashlight and he screamed when it exploded. The glass shards teared into his pants, he felt the sting of it cutting the flesh. When he moved back he fell, he screamed when he began to fall down rapidly.

The darkness began to fade as he landed on a pile of bones he grunted as he pushed himself upwards. A bunch of torches were surrounding him, the flames flickering like crazy as he looked around at the creepy piles of bones. When he looked upwards it was just a roof "what the hell...". He ran forward grabbing a torch off the wall he paused when he saw drawings on the wall. "Wait... that's Daniel".

He frowned deeply as he saw a portrait of Daniel on the wall, it looked just like him except the eyes were creepy looking. He saw a bunch of butterflies drawn all over the walls, all leading towards one doorway. ....... (you've unlocked a choice)......

    "Lucas?" Mira looked around the pathway with confusion "where did you go?". She had just seen him a minute ago, he was running ahead to pick up some flashlight but when she approached the light source he was gone. She kneeled down looking at the footsteps that were leading down the cave, but then she heard voices coming from the right.

"Guys?" she ran off ahead towards the voices, she heard it get louder as she pushed herself thought a tight gap. She felt the rocks digging into her ankles as she looked around, the voice got more clearer and she turned and screamed when Daniel looked at her.

"You scared me!" The boy chuckled as he looked at her "I've been calling the for them last ten minutes, I thought I heard you, but I think it was Lucas". Mira let out a breath "is he with you then?".

Daniel frowned "I thought he was with you?" Mira held onto her flashlight slightly "well no, I sorta lost him, he ran ahead because he thought he saw you guys. I got there and he was just gone, then I heard you talking so I thought he was with you".

Daniel shrugged "I sorta just assumed he was with you since we lost Liz, I couldn't find her so I went looking for you and Lucas". Mira paused for a moment as she looked at Daniel "wait, if you're alone then who the hell were you talking with?".

For a split second she could've sworn she saw his eyes darken but it faded just as quickly "no one, I was just calling out for you. Echolocation didn't work so I figured screaming out would help, it was either that or Marco Polo, it worked since I found you".

Mira sighed softly "well we gotta Lucas and Liz, then let's get out of this place before we get even more lost. Did you even find what you were looking for?". She walked behind Daniel as the boy led the way "well I could've sworn I saw a treasure chest up ahead, but I didn't want to open it alone. I went looking for everyone, strength in numbers you know".

Daniel turned down a narrow pathway and Mira looked at the walls as she saw a bunch of butterflies all leading towards a small hidden doorway. She looked at the back of Daniel's head, she had a bad feeling about all of this but maybe it would help her find Lucas faster, she did briefly remember seeing him this way prior to losing him.

"Hey, what's with the creepy hidden door?" Daniel turned "what? That's just a wall" he looked at the wall and frowned, Mira however could literally see the door. "You don't see that small ass door? Or the butterflies all over the walls?".

He looked at the walls then at Mira before he turned back around and kept walking "maybe you hit your head or something, all that's around us is endless walls. No one's been in here for ages". Mira let out a breath as she looked at the door and then at Daniel who was walking further away from her........ (you've unlocked a choice)......

Elizabeth wasn't afraid of tight spaces or the dark, she did this for sport. Yet when she turned around and saw no one was with her, that alone made her pretty freaked out. She spent a solid five minutes talking with Daniel but when she turned he was gone and so was Lucas and Mira. She kept going forward, she wasn't going to waste this opportunity of the perfect contact. She grabbed her camera out of her backpack and she frowned deeply when she saw the battery was completely dead.

"What, you gotta be kidding me! I charged you all night for this" she groaned in annoyance as grabbed her spare camera. She screamed when the lens shattered and it collided into the ground. She kneeled down fast grabbing hold of it "oh come on, this is expensive" she let out a huff as she looked at the damage. She turned it over and frowned when she saw the screen was playing "I never filmed this".

"Elizabeth!" She gasped and lost her footing, her entire body awkwardly falling into a wall. Her eyes widened when she felt herself begin to slide downwards, the rocks digging into her back and legs as she rolled into a puddle.

She gagged instantly, the stench coating her nostrils as her hands began to swirl around trying to find the closest way out. Whatever she was in, it was chunky and she was gonna flip her shit if it got into her mouth. "Gross" she felt something grabbing her ankle and she screamed when it pulled her under.

alright I was feeling spooky this week so I've been working on some chapters for this, after the next chapter the choices option won't be used if you guys aren't vibing with it. Liz getting pulled under was a cannon event unfortunately but don't worry I'm sure she's fine, anyways once you comment, I'll honestly probably get the next chapter out within a few days.
