two
It was late, and Samuel kept tossing and turning every second. His body refused to get comfortable making him huff in annoyance as he slammed his face down into his pillow. The air in his room was piping warm, he was coated in sweat as he struggled to find any sense of comfort.
He sat up rubbing at his face as he sighed deeply, his moment faded away when the door burst open. Hayley walked inside quickly holding onto a metal rod. "I heard someone outside" Samuel stood up fast walking towards the door.
"Just stay behind me" he put his shirt on grabbing his gun out of his pants as he walked down the steps. Hayley stood behind him, her grasp tight on her weapon as she watched the door open.
Samuels grip on his gun loosened when she walked inside, she looked the same. Hayley frowned deeply "who the hell are you?" Samuel sighed deeply "figured you'd show up here eventually Rebekah".
Samuel put his gun down and rolled his eyes "I'm rather surprised you're here Samuel, thought you'd be in mystic falls with your friends".
He walked down the steps "I left mystic falls seven months ago, I had a friend here who needed my help, I figured why not just stay".
"That's lovely I suppose, but it doesn't explain why you're here? I thought you claimed you'd never see my family again?".
He laughed lightly "I just meant you" Rebekah looked hurt by his words as he walked back towards the steps. "I see you're still upset with me, very well then, It doesn't bother me".
Samuel looked at her "it bothers you a bit, trust me I know how your mind works. Now what brings you here? Gonna do something drastic?".
"I'm looking for Elijah" Samuel grabbed the metal rod from Hayley's grasp, putting it back near the fireplace. Hayley shrugged her shoulders "beats me. He's long gone".
Rebekah frowned deeply "what do you mean, "long gone?". Samuel sighed deeply "well I think she means, he was here and then he wasn't here, it's pretty self explanatory".
Rebekah rolled her eyes "he wouldn't just run off, which means Klaus has done something to him". Samuel sat down on the steps rubbing at his eyes, the exhaustion was hitting him.
"Klaus! Get out here and tell me what you've done with our brother, you narcissistic, back-stabbing wanker!". Samuel winced at the loudness of Rebekah's voice as he stood up off the stairs rubbing at his head slightly "gosh this is just annoying".
Klaus in his all like dramatic manner pulled open the doors to his study, he smiles at the sight of Rebekah. "Enough with all the shouting. Little sister, I should have known. I assume the six dead vampires were your doing?". He walked inside the room more and his gaze looked at Samuel with amusement.
Samuel rolled his eyes before he walked further down the steps and sat down beside Hayley who was just as confused as him. Rebekah smirked, "they were very rude. Trying to victimize a poor, innocent girl just trying to find her way to the Quarter. So sorry, were they friends of yours?". Klaus sighed deeply as Rebekah laughed slightly "oh, that's right, you don't have any friends you pay for such things".
Samuel looked at Hayley and she shrugged as they both awkwardly waited for the two siblings to stop bickering with each other. Klaus looked almost offended by Rebekah's words, but deep down Samuel figured he was likely just gonna bite back ten times harder.
"I do have friends. I have Marcel. You remember him, don't you? Yes, of course you do. He fancies himself the 'King of the Quarter' now, and he has these rules about killing vampires. It'll be fun to see what sort of punishment he comes up with for you".
Samuel sighed deeply as he pushed his face into his hands "this night just gets more eventful by the minute, I feel like I'm in mystic falls all over again". He zoned out most of the conversation until he heard the doors of Klaus's study be slammed shut, his eyes looking upwards and they locked with Rebekah's.
She looked away and her gaze meant with Hayley's "you, wolf girl. I'm going to search this house inch by inch until I find what my evil brother has done to my good one. You're helping". Hayley sighed deeply as she stood up as Rebekah began to walk down a flight of spiral stairs. Hayley turned and looked at Samuel with a look of desperation, she clearly didn't want to go.
Samuel who looked half asleep looked at Hayley then at Rebekah "good luck with that. I'm going back to bed" he stands up walking up the stairs.

Samuel was almost always on high alert when he'd sleep at night. His mind was always active and keeping track of any sudden changes around him, he heard the door open before he felt the bed dip down. Her hands were freezing as they touched his shoulder to wake him, he smelled the strong scent of her perfume as he opened his eyes and turned.
He would've made some sort of joke on how her hands are freezing cold but he sat up quickly at the look of distress on her face. "What is it?" He looked around in confusion before his eyes meant with Hayley's, the girl looked like she had just been through hell. Her hair was a mess and she was slightly coated with blood and dirt.
Samuel stood up off his bed as he grabbed a hold of her arm and led her outside towards the hallway. "I went to the quarter, ran into some vampires" his eyes widened slightly "werewolves aren't allowed in the quarter here Hayley, what were you doing there?".
His question was interrupted by Klaus as the man stormed towards the duo "I could ask her the same thing myself. Hayley, what were you doing in the bloody French Quarter in the first place?". The man looked angry and Samuel sighed as he looked at him with annoyance "it's none of your business Klaus".
Klaus sneered angrily "I didn't ask you Samuel, Hayley, answer me!". Hayley looked almost stunned and she didn't move as Klaus glared at her. Rebekah rolled her eyes as she pushed Klaus back slightly "leave her be Nik" Hayley all of a sudden walked forward, a wave of confidence hitting her.
"You wanna know what I was doing? I was buying poison, so I could put your little baby out of its misery" Samuel couldn't process what happened, for a single second he was looking at Hayley and then next she was pushed against the wall.
She gasped for air as Klaus choked her Samuel ran forward quickly "get off of her!". He grabbed a hold of Klaus arm and shouted out angrily as the man pushed him back. His body collided along the ground and he grunted at the harsh impact of it.
He watched as Rebekah threw Klaus off of Hayley and the girl fell towards the ground coughing as she held her throat. "Keep your hands off her! She is pregnant, for God's sake! All of this bluster about not wanting the child, and then the second she tells you she's ready to get rid of it? It's okay to care. It's okay to want something. That's all Elijah was trying to do, all he's ever wanted for you. All we've ever wanted".
Samuel pushed himself off the ground as he approached Hayley, he glared at Klaus as the man sat down on the stairs in defeat. "I gave Elijah to Marcel" Samuel ignored the tension in the room as he helped Hayley off the ground.
"Marcel was nervous. It's bad enough one Original returned to town, but two? His crew was getting antsy. He wanted Elijah gone, so... I gave him a peace offering". Klaus looked annoyed as Rebekah stood up and glared at him "you bartered our brother?",
"I have a plan. Gain Marcel's trust, dismantle his empire, honor Elijah's wish that that baby be born. I am executing that plan the only way I know how. If you don't like it, there's the door. See if I care". He storms off and Samuel sighs deeply "and I thought my family had issues, this just takes the cake".
