LATE A NIGHT, THE POLICE TASKFORCE GATHERED IN BEACON HILLS PRESERVE AS THEY HAD JUST GOTTEN A CALL. Police radios were heard and K9's were brought out to search the woods.

They combed through the woods inch by inch with flashlights in hand, pointing towards the ground.

At the McCall residence, Scott McCall was lacing up his net for lacrosse practice tomorrow and winter break was just about to end.

Making sure the net was tightly laced, Scott placed it on his bed and decided to do some last minute pull ups before heading to bed.

Soon after finishing his mini workout, he brushed his teeth and rinsed his mouth out, but in the midst of doing so he heard a noise on the roof of his.

Being alarmed because he was home alone, he put on a jacket and some jeans and grabbed a baseball bat and headed downstairs towards the front door.

As he was now standing outside on his porch, he looked around for anything out of the ordinary and was soon met with an upside down hanging Stiles.

Scaring both of them, they screamed and wailed at each other. "Stiles, what the hell are you doing?" Scott asked, as he was trying to get his heart back to its normal rate.

Still hanging upside down he answered, "You weren't answering your phone." And then got side tracked because he saw what Scott was holding in his hand. "Why do you have a bat?" he questioned.

"I thought you were a predator." Scott said, in an accusing tone.

"A pre..wha..look, I know it's late, but you gotta hear this. I saw my dad leave 20 minutes ago. Dispatch called, they're bringing in every officer from Beacon Department, and even state police." Stiles explained, a bit nasally since he was still hanging upside down from Scott's roof.

"For what?" Scott asked, not knowing what his friend was going on about. "Two joggers found a body in the woods." Stiles said, before he finally flung himself off the roof and landed on Scott's front lawn.

"A dead body?" Scott exclaimed. "No, a body of water. Yes, dumbass a dead body." Stiles stated sarcastically, getting up and hopping onto Scott's porch.

"You mean like, murdered?" Scott asked, a bit intrigued on the subject.

"Nobody knows yet. Just that it was a girl, probably in her 20's." Stiles explained.

"Hold on, if they found the body, then what are they looking for?"

"That's the best part. They only found half. We're going." Stiles said, a bit too overjoyed.

Hopping in Stiles' old Jeep, the two boys set off to Beacon Hills Preserve to go find half of a dead boy.

Arriving at the preserve, they both got out of the jeep. "Are we seriously doing this?" Scott asked, not believing they were about to go traipsing through the woods to look for a dead girl.

"You're the one always bitching that nothing ever happens in this town." Stiles told Scott, then patted him on the back as he passed him walking into the dark woods.

"I was trying to get a good night's sleep before practice tomorrow." Scott replied, back to Stiles as he followed behind the hyper boy.

"Right, 'cause sitting on the bench is such a grueling effort." Stiles shot back.

"No, because I'm playing this year. In fact, I'm making first line." Scott manifested.

"Hey, that's the spirit everyone should have a dream, even a pathetically unrealistic one." Stiles said, looking at his surroundings as they were trapping through the woods with only one flashlight.

"Just out of curiosity, which half of the body are we looking for?"

Taking a second to think about his answer, "Huh! I didn't even think about that." Stiles answered, truthfully.

"And, uh, what if whoever killed the body is still out here?" Scott continuously asked.

"Also something I didn't think about." Stiles answered, and they both began to climb up a hill.

"It's comforting to know you've planned this out with your usual attention to detail." Scott said, as he began to run out of breath.

"I know."

Resting up against a tree, Scott took out his inhaler. "Maybe the severe asthmatic should be the one holding the flashlight, huh?"

As they both made it up the hill at this time, they laid on the ground seeing the police flashlights shining dimly through the woods.

Getting excited, Stiles shot up. "Hey come on." he said, taking off into the woods.

"Stiles!" Scott shouted as his friend just left him behind.

Seeing as he wasn't coming back, Scott took a shot from his inhaler and ran after him. "Wait up! Stiles!"

Falling far behind his spastic friend, Scott whisper yelled for him.

As Stiles finally turned back around he noticed that he left Scott, but as he turned around he was met with a barking K9 alongside a police officer. The boy fell to the ground as he had just been surprised by the two.

"Hold it right there!" the officer ordered.

Scott, who had just caught up to the boy, hid behind a tree, as he saw his friend get caught by the police and didn't want to get in trouble himself.

"Hang on, hang on. This little delinquent belongs to me." The sheriff claimed, which also happened to be Stiles' father, Noah Stilinski.

Getting off the ground after being caught Stiles looked at his father, "Dad, how are you doing?"

"So, do you, uh, listen in to all my phone calls?" Noah asked his son, with a questioning expression.

"No...not the boring ones." Stiles answered.

Shaking his head, Noah continued to ask, "Now, where's your usual partner in crime?"

Knowing exactly who his father was asking about, Stiles asked cluelessly "Who Scott?"

"Scott's home, he said he wanted to get a good night's sleep for the first day back at school tomorrow. It's just me in the woods. Alone." Stiles said, making up an almost believable lie to his father.

But Noah didn't buy his son's word all the time. Shining a flashlight in the distance of the woods he called out. "Scott, you out there?"

Still hiding behind a tree, Scott didn't answer the older Stilinski's call.

"Scott?" Noah called out again.

Not hearing or seeing the boy he gave up and sighed, "Well, young man, I'm gonna walk you back to your car. And you and I are gonna have a conversation called invasion of privacy." Noah said, dragging his son through the woods.

Seeing them leave, Scott realized that his ride was just caught and had to leave without him. "Damn!" he mouthed.

Thunder crashed in the sky, and howling was heard throughout the woods as Scott McCall walked back alone to his house.

As Scott trapped through the woods, he walked along silently till he caught the sight of a woman in a white dress standing alone in the distance looking directly at him.

Scott didn't know what to do, he didn't say anything to the unknown woman.

Seeing the young boy, she knew exactly who he was. Aline knew what was going to happen tonight, but she couldn't stop it. His future was set in stone.

Decided to speak up. "Newly bitten, you're about to be. Don't be scared of the cavalry." she said, to the brown eyes boy. She knew he wouldn't understand what she was talking about, but she decided to tell him anyway even if he had no idea what was to come.

He was about to ask the woman in white what she was talking about, when he heard a noise in the distance.

Turning to look he didn't see anything, then he turned back around to ask the lady but when he looked back at the spot where she was standing, he noticed the lady had disappeared.

Looking around, he tried to find her again but after a few minutes he realized he wouldn't. So he continued his walk back to his house through the woods late at night.

Walking through the woods, Scott came to a stop and pulled out his inhaler. While staring into the distance Scott became enthralled with a wooded area and just stared at the space.

Soon a bunch of deer came running out, knocking Scott down and his inhaler got tossed into the deep dark woods.

After the stampede of deer finished running through the woods, Scott looked around seeing if it was safe to get up.

Seeing it was okay, he got up and immediately pulled out his phone and started looking for his inhaler.

Shining his phone at the ground, Scott combed through the floor of the woods and soon stumbled upon a half of a dead body that he and Stiles were looking for.

Spooking the boy, he tumbled down a hill. His back crashed into the trunk of a tree and he landed on the forest floor.

Grabbing a lone log, Scott pulled himself up. Making it a few feet away from the log Scott heard a low predatory growl.

Slowly turning around Scott saw the eyes of a beast.

And soon the beast leaped at the boy, knocking him down and dragging him. As the beast dragged the poor boy, he bit his side.

The poor boy howled in pain, and as soon as the feral beast let him go he took off running through the woods, tumbling a bit but never looked back.

Making it to the road, Scott froze as he heard a car horn beeping at him. Standing in place the SUV swerved around him.

Seeing the receding light, Scott finally lifted up his shirt feeling a pain on his side.

The pain revealed to be a bite mark from the feral creature in the woods.

Bloody and dirty, Scott stood on the side of the road while it rained. While currently catching his breath he heard a lone howl that sounded throughout the woods.

And as he heard the lone howl he swore he also heard a feminine voice singing along with the howl.

Not wanting to stay near the woods any longer he took off to his house.

As the boy took off running, Aline watched in the darkness of the woods knowing she had to keep an eye on the boy, knowing that what was going to happen next would change his life.

In the morning, Scott McCall rode his trusty dusty bike to school. Making it there, he put his bike in the stands and took off his helmet.

Looking his bike to the rack, he was hit by Jackson Whittemore's Porsche door.

Being who he was, Jackson decided to accuse the poor boy. "Dude, watch the paint job."

And then one of his friends called out to him, getting his attention. "Yo Jackson, let's go bro."

Walking off, Jackson glared at the Latino boy.

Brushing it off, Scott went to go find his best friend Stiles.

Meeting up, Stiles said "Okay, let's see this thing." As he was curious all night, he got a text message from Scott Saying he was bit in the woods last night.

Pulling up his shirt, Scott showed the bloody bandage. "Ooh!" Stiles reacted, and went to touch the wound but Scott jerked back. "Woah!" and rolled down his shirt.

Picking up his backpack, the boys started walking towards the front doors of the school.

"It was too dark to see much, but I'm pretty sure it was a wolf," Scott said.

Raising his eyebrows, "A wolf bit you?" Stiles questioned.

"Uhโ€“huh." Scott answered.

"No, not a chance." Stiles dismissed.

"I heard a wolf howl."

"No, you didn't." Stiles countered.

"What do you mean, "No, I didn't?" How do you know what I heard?" Scott asked.

"Because California doesn't have wolves, okay? Not in like 60 years." Stiles responded.

The boys came to stop by the entrance to the school, "Really?" Scott asked, curiously.

"Yes really, there are no wolves in California." Stiles answered, surely.

Moving on from the subject, "Well, if you don't believe me about the wolf, then you're definitely not gonna believe me about when I tell you I found the body."

"Are you kidding me?" Stiles asked, excitingly.

"No, man, I wish. I'm gonna have nightmares for a month. But that's not all, last night before I found the body I saw a woman just standing out there."

"Oh, God, that is freaking awesome. I mean, this seriously gonna be the best thing that's happened to this town since...since the birth of Lydia Martin. Hey Lydia, you look...like you're gonna ignore me." Stiles tried to approach, as the queen bee of Beacon Hills High School strode right past him, without the bat of an eye.

Turning back to Scott, "You're the cause of this, you know."

"Uhโ€“huh."

"Dragging me down to your nerd depths. I'm a nerd by association. I've been scarlet nerded by you." Stiles accused, Scott just agreed as the bell had rung and they walked to class. Anyone who knew Stiles and Scott, knew that if anyone was the nerd out of both of them it was Stiles.

Scott and Stiles were currently in English class as their teacher was going over the current flashing news in Beacon Hills then when finished he told his students to turn to their syllabus'.

As class had just now started, Scott got interrupted when he heard a cell phone ringing louder than normal.

He looked around the classroom trying to find where it was coming from but soon saw it was a dead end.

Then his attentioned got turned to the girl outside the classroom, sitting on the bench outside of the school.

"Mom, three calls on my first day is a little overdoing it." mystery brunette girl said.

As Scott continued to glance out the window at the girl, his eyes moved to a red car parked behind her and saw the same woman from the woods just standing there and staring straight at him.

Scott got spooked seeing the woman, then a car drove by and she disappeared again. Shaking his head, Scott brought his attention back to the new mystery girl.

"Everything except a pen. Oh, my God, I didn't actually forget a pen." she worried, digging through her bag. She was alerted when she saw the principal walking towards her. "Okay, okay. I gotta go. Love you." she said, ending her call.

"Sorry to keep you waiting. So you were saying San Francisco isn't where you grew up?" the principal asked the girl.

"No, but we lived there for more than a year, which is unusual in my family." she explained.

"Well, hopefully Beacon Hills will be your last stop for a while." he tried to comfort, as he walked the girl down to her first class of the day.

Entering the room, Scott was already alert. "Class, this is our new student, Allison Argent. Please do your best to make her feel welcome. Please do your best to make her feel welcome." the principal introduced.

Listening to her heart beat, Scott watched her walk to the seat behind him and sit down. Taking a pen off his desk he handed it to her.

She looked at him curiously. "Thanks, " she said as she gently took the pen from his hand.

Turning back around in his seat, Scott began doing the reading his teacher assigned while Allison was still trying to figure out how he knew she needed a pen.

As class finally finished, the bell rang and students flooded the hallway. At his locker, Scott looked across the hall and his gaze set upon the new girl Allison Argent.

Catching his stare, she smiled at him. If it were a romโ€“com without a doubt, the song "Puppy Love" would be playing in the background for the two.

But was suddenly interrupted when Lydia Martin walked up to Allison.

Meeting up at the lockers Harley and Stiles joined Scott. "Can someone tell me how new girl is here all of five minutes, and she's already hanging out with Lydia's clique?" she asked.

"Because she's hot, beautiful people herd together." Stiles stated, blatantly.

Scott however was not paying attention to the two and was listening in on Lydia and Allison's conversation.

"So, this weekend, there's a party." Lydia mentioned.

"A party?" Allison asked, not knowing all the details.

"Yeah, Friday night you should come." Jackson suggested.

"Uh, I can't. It's family night this Friday, thanks for asking." Allison said, suddenly trying to say no.

"You sure? I mean, everyone's going after the scrimmage." Jackson stated.

"You mean like football?"

"Football's a joke in Beacon. The sport here is lacrosse, we've won state championship for the past three years." Jackson boasted.

"Because of a certain team captain." Lydia added, hyping up her boyfriend. By Allison actions you could tell the girl was slightly uncomfortable with the two.

"Well, we have practice in a few minutes. That is, if you don't have anywhere elseโ€“" Well, I was going toโ€“" "Perfect, you're coming." Lydia interrupted not giving the girl a chance to ditch, and dragged her to the lacrosse stands outside.

Outside on the field, the lacrosse players were getting ready for today's practice.

"But if you play, I'll have no one to talk to on the bench. Are you really going to do that to your best friend?" Stiles asked, as they both walked out onto the field with their gear.

"I can't sit out again. My whole life is on the sidelines, this season I make first line." Scott explained walking onto the field, but his attention got side tracked once he saw Allison walking on the bleacher to sit down.

"MCall!" Coach called out, catching the boys' attention. "Yeah?"

"You're on goal." he stated. "I've never played."

"I know, scoring some shots will give the boys a confidence boost. It's a first day back thing, get them energized, fired up!" Coach explained.

"What about me?" Scott asked.

"Try not to take any in the face." Coach said, plainly. Turning around to the other players "Come on, let's go!" Coach shouted.

Getting into the goalie position, Allsion saw and asked Lydia "Who is that?" she asked, as her eyesight was set on Scott.

Following her line of sight, "Him? I'm not sure who he is." she stated.

And Scott's new found hearing picked up the conversation. "Why?" Lydia asked, curiously turning to the girl.

"He's in my English class." Allison brushed off.

And the whistle sounded for the practice to start, catching Scott off guard as his hearing was now sensitive.

Trying to stop the noise from sounding, Scott put his hands on his helmet trying to cover his ears, while a player started running up to the goal.

Throwing the ball, it hit Scott in the face making him fall backwards onto the grass.

Seeing the practice already starting off so terribly, he got back up with the lacrosse stick and hand and readied himself.

Another came, and threw his ball trying to get it in the net. Except this time Scott caught the flying ball with ease.

Scott was just as shocked as the rest of the team.

So another player ran to throw his ball into the net, but with quick reflexes Scott caught the ball again.

And again, and again.

He seemed to catch every ball that was thrown at him.

"He seems like he's pretty good." Allison commented, watching the practice.

"Yeah, very good." Lydia agreed.

Scott began to find his new confidence till he saw Jackson walk up to the front of the line with determination in his eyes.

Readying himself for Jackson's throw, it was like everything moved in slow motion. Everyone had their eyes on Jackson and Scott, focused on what was going to happen next.

Throwing the ball the hardest he ever threw, Jackson watched as Scott caught the ball with an almost perfect angle.

The icing on the cake for him was watching his girlfriend cheer for another guy, that wasn't him.

"That is my friend!" Stiles cheered.

แฏฝ

Back in the woods, Scott and Stiles were looking for the lost inhaler.

Running through a stream, "I don't know what it was. It was like I had all the time in the world to catch the ball. And that's not the only weird thing, I can hear stuff I shouldn't be able to hear. Smell things." Scott explained.

"Smell things? Like what?" Stiles asked curiously.

"Like the mint mojito gum in your pocket." Scott stated.

Searching his pockets, "I don't even have any mint mojito..." Stiles began to say as he pulled the gum out of his jacket pocket.

Scott gave him 'I told you so look'.

"So all of this started with the bite." Stiles stated.

"What if it's like an infection, like my body's flooding with adrenaline before I go into shock or something?"

"You know what? I actually think I've heard of this. It's a specific kind of infection." Stiles informed.

"Are you serious?" Scott asked, as they came to a stop.

"Yeah, I think it's called lycanthropy."

"What's that? Is that bad?" Scott asked, a bit worried.

"Oh, yeah, it's the worst, but it's only once a month." Stiles stated.

"Once a month?" Scott repeated, and Stiles hummed along.

"On the night of the full moon, aroow." Stiles mimicked the sound of a wolf howling.

Scott lightly pushed him for messing around.

"Hey man, you're the one who heard a wolf howling." Stiles laughed.

"Hey, there could be something seriously wrong with me."

"I know! You're a werewolf, rrrrr!" Stiles exclaimed.

"Okay, obviously I'm kidding, but if you see me in the shop class trying to melt all the silver I can find, it's because Friday's a full moon." Stiles said, as they came to a permanent stop in the woods.

"No, I could have sworn this was it. I saw the body, the deer came running. The woman appeared over there." Scott said, pointing across the clearing.

"I dropped my inhaler." He said, bending down and shuffling the leaves.

"Maybe the killer moved the body." Stiles suggested. "If he did I hope he left my inhaler, those things are like 80 bucks." Scott staed, looking up at the boy then back down to the ground.

Before any of them realized, Derek Hale stood before them in the distance watching. Unbeknownst to him and the boys, Aline was watching everything.

Turning around slightly, Stiles saw the man standing wearing all black. Getting his friends' attention, Stiles patted him on the back.

Scott finally turned around to see what his friend had spotted and he noticed the man as well, so he stood up straight and watched the man walk over to them.

With a brooding face, the green eyed man walked over. "What are you doing here?" he asked, neither of the boys answered.

Stiles just combed over his buzzโ€“cut.

"Huh? This is private property." he stated, looking directly at them.

"Uh, sorry, man, we didn't know." Stiles explained, avoiding the older fellows gaze.

"Yeah, we were just looking for something, but...uh, forget it." Scott said, and unlike Stiles he looked the man directly in the eye.

Derek then threw the inhaler to Scott, who caught it. Then put his hands in his leather jacket and then turned around and walked away.

"All right, come on, man, I gotta get to work." Scott said, turning to walk back.

"Dude, that was Derek Hale. You remember, right? He's only like a few years older than us." Stiles stated.

"Remember what?"

"His family, they all burned to death in a fire like, like 10 years ago. And there's a cold case still going on for a family friend who was supposed to be in the fire, but wasn't found." Stiles informed his friend.

"I wonder what he's doing back." Scott questioned, while Stiles scoffed "Come on." he said as they both turned to leave the woods.

แฏฝ

As Derek heard the last of the boy's conversation he started walking towards his house when he felt a presence behind him.

"I hope that this private property is open to me, seeing as I am an old family friend." the feminine voice stated.

Derek's heart stopped for a minute; he hadn't heard that voice in 6 years.

Turning around slowly, he faced her. "Aline?" he asked.

"You've grown on up, haven't you?" she asked, with a small smile appearing on her face.
