My eyes flutter open and the first thing I see is the ceiling of the drop ship. I then feel a weight on my thigh and I look down to see Finn sleeping soundly.

A smile tugs at my lips and I reach down to run my fingers through his wild brown locks. He stirs in his sleep and I sweep his hair off his face as his big brown eyes open up sleepily.

"Hey, sleeping beauty" I croak and he jumps up to my side.

"You're okay" He sighs in relief.

"It's going to take more than a jab to the side to get rid of me" I joke and Finn wraps his arms around me.

"Thank, God. I thought I lost you" He mumbles, holding my head to his chest and leaning down to kiss my temple.

"I'm okay" I assure him, wrapping my arms around his frame.

"Can I get in on this?" I hear a voice ask and I look to my other side to see Raven walk into the room.

"Rae Rae" I grin and she rolls her eyes, winding her arms around me.

"You gave us a scare there, kiddo" She mutters and I smile.

She pulls away and I hold out my arms, making grabby hands at the older girl.

"Pull me up" I whine like a child.

"No way. You need to rest" Finn scolds me.

"You were caught a lot worse than I was and you were up out of bed" I accuse him and he pushes me back onto my pillow.

"I'm older than you" He retorts using the same excuse he has used for everything since we were children.

"I hate you" I grumble and he grins widely.

"You love me" He corrects.

"You're lucky I do" I huff and Raven chuckles.

Suddenly two people storm in, the two of them looking like they're in a hurry.

"Ava, you're up" Clarke states in surprise and I salute her mockingly.

"Thanks for the stitches, doc" I reply and she nods with a small smile.

"How you feeling?" Bellamy asks and I can't help the feeling of anger that runs through me.

"Fine" I shrug simply, avoiding his eyes.

I feel his stare burn into me as I stare at my lap in boredom and Clarke clears her throat awkwardly.

"Raven, Finn, we need you" Clarke announces and I perk up.

"What for?" I ask curiously.

"The exodus ship crashed last night" Finn tells me and my eyes widen.

"Sinclair" I gasp and my gaze falls on Raven who nods.

"I'm sure he's okay, Ava" Raven tells me, grabbing my hand and tears gather in my eyes.

"Have you spoke to the Ark?" I ask Clarke who I now realise looks a little worse for wear.

"They've went radio silent. We haven't heard from them since yesterday" She tells me.

Worry sets in my stomach and I try to get out of bed again but Finn groans, pushing me back.

"I can help!" I protest.

"No. Stay" Finn demands.

"I'm not a dog, Finn" I glare.

"I know. A dog would actually listen" He retorts and I gasp, hitting his arm.

"Why are you being so mean?" I complain.

"It's my job" He answers.

"No, that's Raven's job. You're supposed to be the nice one" I argue and Raven slaps me upside the head.

"See?" I grumble, rubbing the back of my head.

"You're hurt. It's too early for you to be running around a crash site" Finn tells me.

"Finn's right, plus at least one of us have to stay behind and look after camp. Bellamy and I are going, so you're in charge" Clarke explains.

"Fine. Off you go" I sigh dramatically.

"See you later, squirt" Finn smiles, kissing my head.

"See ya, kiddo" Raven grins, patting my shoulder.

"Later, losers" I smirk and they shake their heads at me, following Clarke to the hatch.

I finally look up to the pair of chocolate brown eyes that have been staring at me since they entered the room and he awkwardly rubs the back of his neck.

"Sunshine-" He starts.

"Don't call me that" I butt in and hurt flashes across Bellamy's face.

"Ava, I should have trusted you. I just didn't want you to get hurt" He admits.

"Well, I did get hurt" I retort and he looks down in shame.

"I'm sorry" He apologises and it takes all my strength not to leap into his arms.

"Those are just words. Show me you mean it" I tell him and he nods.

He turns to leave and I can't help myself from calling out his name.

"Bellamy?" I speak up.

He turns to me with a hopeful look and I sigh softly.

"Be careful, okay?" I say and a small smile tugs at his lips.

"I will" He promises.

He climbs down the hatch and I stare up at the ceiling with a groan.

As I get lost in my thoughts I hear grunting and the clanging of someone climbing up the ladder. I see two figures approach me and they're aggressively slapping and poking each other. They notice me sitting up and their faces light up.

"Ava!" Jasper shrieks as he and Monty rush to my side.

"Hey, boys" I grin at them

"You look better" Monty comments and I smile happily.

"I'll take that as a compliment" I reply.

I swing my legs over the side of the bed and both boys hold out their hands. An airy laugh escapes my lips and I take each of their hands, pulling myself onto my feet.

I pull my boots on and Jasper immediately drops to tie my laces while Monty offers me a clean top. I slip on the white tank top before Monty holds out my jacket. I slide my arms in it and pull it on, turning to the duo.

"You didn't have to do that" I smile gratefully.

"Don't worry about it" Monty says, waving me off.

"Well, Clarke and Bellamy left me in charge. How would you boys like to be my seconds in command for the day?" I ask cheekily and they glance at each other with smirks, nodding excitedly.

"Fantastic!" I clap happily.

I head to the ladders and climb down them, ignoring the blunt pain in my side.

Monty and Jasper follow me out into camp and I cross my arms, looking around the working teenagers with a frown.

"Don't you think they look exhausted?" I ask Monty who nods.

"Oh! I've got an idea" I chirp excitedly and the boys listen to me eagerly.

"How would you feel about a talent show?" I ask.

Monty grins widely but Jasper shakes his head.

"Boring" Jasper hums.

"Assault course?" I suggest.

Jasper nods wildly but Monty shakes his head.

"That is too physical. They want to let loose, not wear themselves out even more" Monty explains and I nod in agreement.

"Water fight?" I wonder.

Both boys nod excitedly and I grin. I climb onto the nearest tree stump and cup my hands around my mouth.

"Listen up, people! You've all been working so hard these past couple weeks, and I can tell you need a break" I start and the whole camp stops to listen to me intently.

"But Bellamy and Clarke said we have to-" A young boy starts and I smile sweetly.

"Honey, do you see Bellamy or Clarke?" I ask and he shakes his head.

"Take a break. You deserve it. My boys and I are having a water fight by the waterfall if you want join. But if not, enjoy a day to yourself" I declare and everyone cheers loudly.

I jump down from the stump and immediately I'm engulfed in cold water. A scream leaves my lips and I turn to Monty and Jasper who are holding a large, now empty bucket.

I laugh loudly grabbing a near by cup of water and splashing it at them. They jump back and I lunge at Monty, attaching myself to his back.

"To the waterfall!" I scream.
