"Ok. Now let's go" She adds.

We all head out but I turn my head to look back for Octavia only to see her kiss her brother's cheek and run after us.

She jumps on my back and I catch her, holding her legs so she doesn't fall. Clarke catches up with us and I let Octavia slip down to the ground.

"Before you get any ideas, Finn is mine" Octavia says to Clarke before turning her head to look at me slightly, obviously checking to see if i'm okay with this for some reason.

I give her a nonchalant shrug because Finn can make his own decisions and she smiles widely at that.

"Before you get any ideas, I don't care" Clarke retorts rudely.

"Yeesh, who pissed in your cheerios?" I comment and she rolls her eyes at me.

We catch up with the guys and I walk beside Monty and Jasper at the back while Clarke leads the way in front of Finn and Octavia who are flirting away. Finn stops next to some flowers and picks one before turning to show it to Octavia. They stop and he puts it in her hair.

"Now, that, my friend, is game" Jasper says and I shake my head, a little disappointed in Finn.

"That, my friend, is poison sumac" Monty chides smartly, picking one himself.

"What?! It is?" Octavia says panicking and throwing the flower out of her hair, making me laugh.

"The flowers aren't poisonous. They're medicinal, calming, actually" Monty explains, popping one in his mouth and making Octavia and Finn look at him weird.

"His family grows all the pharmaceuticals on the Ark" Jasper tells them.

"I think it's cool" I comment and Monty smiles at me warmly, offering me a flower petal which I gratefully accept and pop it in my mouth.

"Hey, guys, would you try to keep up?" Clarke snaps at us all.

"Come on, Clarke. How do you block all this out?" Finn questions the bossy blonde.

"Well, it's simple. I wonder, 'why haven't we seen any animals?'. Maybe it's because there are none. Maybe we've already been exposed to enough radiation to kill us" Clarke rants.

"Sure is pretty though" She adds sarcastically making me giggle.

"Come on" She finishes, walking away from us.

"Someone should slip her some poison sumac" Octavia quips and we all laugh lightly, Jasper snorting.

As we start walking again Jasper turns to me with the same purple flower Finn had. He offers it to me and I grin, stopping to let him put it behind my ear. I lean up and press a light kiss to his cheek before skipping forward to catch up with Monty.

"I got to know what you two did to get busted" Finn states as Jasper catches up with us.

"Sumac is not the only herb in the garden, if you know what I mean" Monty says vaguely.

"Someone forgot to replace what we took" Jasper hints accusation at Monty.

"Someone has apologised, like, a thousand times" Monty groans.

"What about you, Ava? What'd they get you for?" Jasper asks me.

"Murder" I answer with a shrug causing both Jasper and Octavia to look at me in complete shock.

"Are you for real?" Jasper asks in awe as Finn and Monty grin knowingly.

"Oh, yeah. I beat a guard to death with a wrench" I lie through my teeth and Octavia's face pales, as does Jasper's.

I let out a loud laugh and they look at me as if i'm crazy.

"I'm kidding, jeez" I snort and they visibly relax.

"So, what did you really do then?" Jasper asks.

"I spray painted a dick in the hallway and punched the guard who arrested me. I got done for vandalism and assault" I explain and he raises his brows slightly.

"No shit?" Octavia says with a smile.

"What can I say? I'm a criminal" I tease, hinting at Bellamy's words about Finn.

Octavia scoffs with a smile understanding the joke behind my statement while the others chuckle thinking that i'm just being my sarcastic self.

"What about you, Octavia?" Jasper then asks the dark haired girl.

"Being born" She grumbles, her smile turning into a frown as she runs ahead of us.

"That is so not game" Monty states and I giggle as Jasper hits Monty's arm.

Monty hits him back and it turns into a fight of them hitting each other back and forth until I push both boys apart and follow after Finn who is crouched down next to Clarke and Octavia.

We all crouch down quietly as Clarke puts her finger on her lips telling us to stay silent. I look over and spot a deer eating the grass a couple meters away from us.

"Oh, my God" I mumble looking at Monty who smiles at me before looking back at the deer.

"No animals, huh?" Finn says to Clarke and she smiles at him.

Finn moves closer to the deer but accidentally snaps a twig, making the deer's head shoot up in fright. It looks straight at us and I feel sick to my stomach.

The deer has two heads, one is normal while the other one is bloody and mutilated. We all jump back in fear and the deer runs away, out of sight.

"What the fuck was that?!" I hiss but I don't get an answer.

We get back on track to Mount Weather and I hope to all the gods that we don't encounter any more mutilated wildlife. Walking in complete silence for ages which starts to make me feel fidgety and anxious.

"Hey, you know what i'd like to know?" Finn asks, breaking the silence and I sigh in relief.

"Why send us down today after 97 years? What changed?" Finn asks.

"Who cares? I'm just glad they did" Octavia replies.

"Agreed" I chime in.

"I woke up rotting in a cell, and now i'm spinning in a forest" Octavia adds gleefully, spinning around a tree to look at Finn who ignores her.

Her face falls, smile disappearing as Finn walks past her without a second glance.

"I think you look adorable" I tell her, patting her shoulder and she smiles at me happily.

"Why, thank you" She chirps, swinging her arm around my neck.

"Maybe they found something on a satellite, you know, like an old weather satellite or-" Monty starts but he's cut off.

"It wasn't a satellite. The Ark is dying" Clarke objects and I look at Octavia in shock.

We all stop dead and turn to look at Clarke who just strolls past us as if what she's saying is common knowledge.

"At the current population level, there's roughly three months left of life support, maybe four now that we're gone" Clarke explains and we follow her.

"So that was the secret? They locked you up to keep, why they kept you in solitary, floated your old man?" Finn asks.

"Way to be sensitive, Finn" I say sarcastically and he rolls his eyes, shoving me playfully.

"Shut up, squirt" He replies and I grin.

I make a move to shove him back but Clarke starts talking again so I turn my attention to the older blonde.

"My father was the engineer who discovered the flaw. He thought the people had a right to know. The council disagreed. My mother disagreed. They were afraid it would cause a panic. We were gonna go public, anyway, when Wells-" Clarke explains to us, the end of her explanation being drawled out as if she didn't want to say the end of her sentence.

"What, turned your dad in?" Finn asks and I take her silence as a yes.

"Anyway, the guard showed up before we could. That's why today. That's why it was worth the risk. Even if we all die, at least they bought themselves more time" Clarke tells Finn.

"Assholes" I mutter and Octavia nods from her place next to me as we continue trekking through the forest.

"They're gonna kill more people, aren't they?" Monty asks in slight worry.

Clarke stays silent and I take that as another yes.

"Good. After what they did to me, I say, float them all" Octavia declares and everyone stops to look at the girl as if she's crazy, other than me.

I continue walking with the girl, knowing that I feel the exact same way and i'm not judging her at all. There's very few people on the Ark that I give a fuck about and frankly, the rest can go float themselves.

"You don't mean that!" Jasper argues.
