"Finn, do you see it over there?" Clarke yells as the three of us search for the ignition system under the floors.
"No!" Finn replies.
"Ava?" Clarke asks hopefully.
"Nope!" I huff.
"Raven, we can't find the ignition system! Raven?!" Clarke shouts.
"I can't feel my legs!" Raven shouts calmly and worry courses through me.
"Okay, hold on! We're coming!" Clarke shouts and I quickly make my way to the ladders.
I climb up after Clarke with Finn right behind me.
"Okay, let me see" Clarke says.
Clarke bends Raven down to check her back and the girl groans in pain. I peak around and see her back is covered in a gnarly purple bruise.
"That bad, huh?" Raven asks.
Clarke and I help the girl sit back against the box and she groans softly.
"Raven, the bullet's in your spine. You're bleeding internally" Clarke tells the girl and I share a worried look with Finn.
Raven makes eye contact with me and I smile weakly.
"We better do this fast then, huh? Get back down there" Raven orders.
Clarke makes a move to get up but Finn pulls her back down.
"What if we can slow the bleeding? Would that help?" Finn asks.
"Well, of course it would help. Can you tell me how to do that?" Clarke asks.
"That stuff the grounders had. Coagulant. You said that Lincoln had some too" Finn explains.
"Yeah, it's in the box with the antidote but I-" Clarke is cut off.
"I'm betting that there's more of it in his cave. If I can get there-" This time Finn is cut off.
"Wait a second. No" Raven objects.
"I can make it" He argues.
"What if they catch you, Finn? They'll kill you!" I snap.
"Clarke, tell him he's being an idiot!" Raven begs the blonde.
"Raven" Finn sighs.
"What? I'm not gonna let you die to save me" She tells him.
"Fine. If you won't let me save you, how about we save everybody else?" Finn suggests.
"You're the only one who can fire those rockets. If you die, we all die. I'll be right back" He adds.
He moves to leave but I grab his arm. I look up at him and he looks down at me expectantly.
"If you get yourself killed out there, so help me God, I will find a way to bring you back and kill you myself" I warn him and he smiles cheekily.
"Yes, ma'am" He salutes me before walking to the exit of the drop ship.
"Finn, wait!" Clarke shouts.
She runs up to him and I divert my eyes, turning to Raven.
"You're gonna be okay" I smile, not sure of who I'm trying to convince.
Raven sees this and smiles, grabbing my hand.
"You're not getting rid of me this easy" She assures me.
Clarke returns and looks down at me with a reassuring nod.
"We've got work to do" I huff out.
Clarke climbs back down the ladders and gets to work on finding a wire that could solve all our problems while I help Raven up top.
Voices are heard through the walkie talkie, people shouting and panicking. My anxiety sky rockets and I skakily squeeze Raven's hand.
the grounders are here
"Do you see it or don't you?!" Raven shouts down.
"No! It's a mess down here!" Clarke replies.
"It'll be orange! Look harder!" Raven replies.
"You have to find the wire that connects the manual override to the electromagnet! It's not rocket science!" Raven snaps.
"It is rocket science, actually!" Clarke retorts and I snort.
"Guess we finally found something you're not good at!" Raven shouts.
"I used to be picked first for everything. Earth skills, Zero-G mech course. First...Every time" Raven drawls off.
"So, how the hell did I end up here?" She asks and I rub her shoulder comfortingly with my free hand.
"Hey, Raven? I'd pick you first" Clarke says and I smile at the blonde's kindness.
"Of course you would. I'm awesome" Raven states cockily.
"Hey, I found it! Orange wire!" Clarke shouts.
"About time! Now follow that wire to the override panel!" Raven shouts back.
"Raven? It's fried! Totally useless!" Clarke says and Raven screws her eyes shut, letting her head drop down.
"Tell me this isn't as bad as I think!" The blonde begs.
"You know how to splice a wire?" Raven asks.
"No!" Clarke replies.
"Get down there" Raven snaps and I hesitate.
"Are you sure?" I question.
"Now!" The brunette snaps.
I grab some tools and clamber down the ladder before making my way to Clarke.
"Raven! Our mines actually worked!" I hear Jasper holler over the walkie talkie, making me smile.
I get to work on splicing the wire as Clarke keeps Raven awake and responsive.
"Hey, Raven! Tell us again how this is gonna work!" Clarke asks.
"I told you five times!" Raven groans.
"Current flows to the electromagnetic! That opens the poppet valve! Rockets fire!" Raven drones.
"Okay! Got the good wire ready to graft on, what's next?!" I shout.
"Raven!?" I holler.
"Raven!"
Clarke climbs up the ladder and I put down my tools, following her up. I reach the top and see Raven on the ground. I jump out the hatch and rush over to her side.
"Is she okay?" I rush out in concern.
"For now" Clarke replies.
"But she doesn't have long, Ava" The blonde tells me and my heart drops.
"They're heading for the gate!" Someone screams over the walkie talkie.
"It's game over man!" Another adds on.
"Finish it!" Clarke snaps at me.
"Clarke, I'm no mechanic" I argue.
"Ava, your father was one of the best mechanics the Ark has ever had. Don't tell me you can't do this!" She yells and her words fill me with a sense of confidence.
"I can do this" I mumble.
"Of course you can" Clarke encourages me.
"Current to magnet to valve to barbecue" I chant as I climb back down the ladders.
"Current to magnet to valve to barbecue" I continue repeating.
I work as fast as I possibly can, putting all my years of learning from my father, Sinclair, Raven and Wick to use.
People start entering the drop ship but I don't let that distract me from the task at hand.
Eventually I am completely finished and I stand back from my work with a proud smile.
if only they could all see me now
"Clarke! They're taking down the gate!" I hear Miller shout worriedly as I climb up the ladders.
"That is hella great timing! Because I did it!...Hopefully" I tell everyone with a smile on my face.
"I'm closing that door!" Miller shouts and I jump out the hatch.
"Wait! We've still got people out there! Bellamy's not back yet" Clarke protests.
"There's no way in hell we're closing that door!" I object, knowing that Octavia is also still out there.
Clarke walks to the door and I follow with Miller and Finn behind me.
"All right. Ava did it! Everybody, get inside now!" Clarke screams and I drag her down to the ground when arrows start flying at us.
"There he is!" Finn shouts from his place beside us.
I turn my head to see Bellamy exiting a tunnel and worry flutters in my chest.
"He's never gonna make it!" Clarke snaps.
"Bellamy! Run!" I holler out.
Instead of running towards us he picks up a gun and runs into battle.
what a complete moron!
Tristan heads straight for him and my heartbeat thumps in my chest. Bellamy tries to shoot but the gun clicks, out of ammo.
Tristan swipes his sword towards Bellamy but he blocks it with the gun. Before he can even move, Tristan punches him in the face and grabs his jacket, punching him in the gut.
He tries to once again slice Bellamy with his sword but he's blocked by the gun, once again. Tristan punches Bellamy in the face again, his whole body snapping to the side.
"He's killing him" Clarke states.
"Come on, Bell" I whimper, tears stinging my eyes.
"Give me that" I hear Finn huff and turn to see him holding a rifle.
He shoots at Tristan and my heart stops when he charges at him.
"Stop, Finn!" Clarke screams.
"Finn, No!" I cry out.
Finn tackles Tristan and Clarke clings onto me, tears running down her face. Bellamy pounces onto Tristan and my arm is grabbed by Miller.
"Girls, you can't save everybody! Let's go" He shouts, running to the drop ship door.
I refuse to move, my teary eyes meeting Bellamy's and I give him a pleading expression. He merely nods at me, telling me to go and I shake my head, tears streaming down my face.
"Clarke! Ava! Move!" Miller barks.
Clarke gets up and runs but I stay frozen in my spot, not wanting to leave my boys behind. I try to make a run towards Bellamy and Finn but I'm grabbed from behind.
"No! Let me go!" I plead.
Miller drags me into the drop ship, shooting grounders on the way and as we enter Clarke shuts the door.
Just when I think it's over, Anya rolls into the drop ship and pulls out her swords. Everyone around points their guns and spears at the grounder.
"Ava, now!" Clarke snaps.
I leap over the room, grabbing the control and setting it off. Nothing happens and I look up at Clarke in fear.
"No, no, no, no, no!" I cry, flipping the switch back and forth.
"Anya, you can't win" Clark tells her.
She lets out a battle cry and tries to cut people with her swords but Miller hits her over the head and she collapses to the ground.
Everyone starts yelling and I try to block them out as I figure out what the hell has went wrong.
"Raven says current flows to the magnet. We just need a current" I mumble, ripping the wire out of the control and jumping to my feet.
I grab a lantern from behind me and begin unscrewing the bottom of it.
"We are not grounders!" Clarke snaps and I lay the bottom of the lantern on the floor with the wires facing up.
please, God, I know i've never been the best person but I really need this to work, send some help, please and thanks!
I bring the orange wires down to the lantern base and it sparks, giving me hope.
The drop ship suddenly shakes violently as it lifts off the ground and I hear screams of agony from outside.
A tear slips down my cheek as the thought of Finn and Bellamy burning outside runs through my mind. My stomach twisting in horror at what i've just done.
The drop ship hits the ground and I look up, catching eyes with Clarke.
"Are you okay?" I ask shakily and she nods.
She holds out her hand to me and I gratefully accept it, letting her pull me to my feet. We look around the drop ship and everyone gets up, making sure their friends are okay.
I walk towards the door and hesitantly pull down the lever to open the door. The drop ship door lowers and Clarke comes up by my side.
Her hand slips into mine, our fingers lacing together and I take in a deep breath. Jasper pulls back the cloth and I walk down the ramp with Clarke by my side.
I take in our surroundings carefully and bite my lip to stop myself from crying again. We are completely surrounded by charred skeletons and dark grey ash, nothing else visible due to the grey dust covering everything.
Clarke tugs me forward and we step onto the ground, walking through the piles of ash hand in hand.
A tear runs down my face as I look at the place I last seen Finn and Bellamy. Clarke squeezes my hand and I look at her curiously.
"We're gonna make it through this" She assures me.
"Thanks, blondie" I mumble, smiling at her weakly.
I hear something land at my foot and large clouds of red smoke abruptly start filling the air. I try to hold my breath but eventually I have to gasp for breath and I choke, inhaling the red smoke.
My vision becomes blurry and my knees give up on me, sending me crashing to the ground. I look over at the blonde next to me before my vision goes black.
