𝗔𝘃𝗮'𝘀 𝗣𝗢𝗩

Clarke explains that if she can make a deal with the Commander to save all the Reapers then maybe she'll let us stay in peace.

Finn heads downstairs and I follow after him. His head hangs low as he sits on the metal table and I hop up beside him.

"What's going on in that nugget of yours?" I grin softly.

"Nothing" He shrugs.

"Come on, Finn. You can tell me anything" I assure him.

"I killed innocent people, Ava. Children" He stresses and I sigh, laying my head on his shoulder.

"We've all done horrible things. Remember when I fired up rockets that killed 300 people? I was so sure you were part of that ash and I hated myself for it. God, I still hate myself for all the things i've done. But they had to be done" I explain.

Finn suddenly jumps off the table and runs his hands through his hair in frustration.

"How am I supposed to look at myself in the mirror when i've become such a...such a monster" He rants and I frown sadly.

I hold out my arms with a soft smile and he crashes into me, wrapping his arms around my waist and laying his head on my chest. I place a small kiss on his head and hug him to me tightly.

"You're not a monster. You're Finn Collins. An adorable, sarcastic, asshole who I love with my whole heart" I whisper to him sincerely and he chuckles.

He pulls away slightly and the moonlight hits his face making his honey brown eyes glow up like fireflies.

"Promise me that you will stop giving yourself such a hard time" I smile and he stares in my eyes with a look of adoration on his face.

"Finn?" I mumble in confusion.

Out of nowhere, the boy I've known my whole life slams his lips onto mine and I gasp in complete shock.

The surprise wears off and I find myself kissing him back, feeling right in his arms. I wind my legs around his waist and tangle my fingers in his messy hair as he kisses me with so much love that it makes me smile into the kiss.

We have to pull apart for air and I pant heavily as Finn rests his forehead on mine.

"There's something I have to tell you, Ava" Finn whispers.

"What is it?" I mumble, my eyes never leaving his.

"I didn't leave Raven for Clarke. I left Raven for you. Ava, I'm in love with you and I have been my whole life" He admits and tears well up in my eyes.

"Why didn't you tell me?" I ask in confusion.

"You seemed so happy with Bellamy" He shrugs and guilt crushes me.

Bellamy

"So why now?" I question curiously.

"I couldn't keep it a secret anymore. I don't care if you don't feel the same way, Ava. I just had to let you know how I really feel about you" He explains and a tear runs down my face.

"Why are you crying?" He chokes out a laugh.

"I just love you so damn much, Finn" I cry.

"I love you too, Ava" He grins.

The sound of the hatch opening at the top level brings us back to reality and Finn plants another chaste kiss on my lips before stepping back from me. My body goes cold at the loss of his touch and I frown slightly.

"You ready to go?" Clarke asks Finn.

"I am now" He nods, glancing at me.

Clarke gives me a confused look but I can't rip my eyes off Finn.

The two of them turn to walk out the drop ship door and I hop off the table, grabbing Finn's arm. He looks back at me expectantly and Clarke stops in confusion.

"Promise me you'll come back?" I ask, my voice cracking slightly.

"I promise" Finn smiles softly.

He pecks my forehead and exits the drop ship with Clarke on his tail.

I pull myself together and climb up the ladders to see Nova, Octavia and Bellamy all sitting around in boredom as we wait for Finn and Clarke to return with Abby.

Bellamy smiles up at me and I smile back but a guilty feeling erupts in my chest once again. I clench my fists and slide down the wall on the opposite side of the room to sit next to Nova.

The grounder gives me a smirk and I look at her in confusion as I bring my knees up to my chest.

"I came down for some water and caught you with the cute one" Nova whispers in my ear and my eyes widen in surprise.

"Your secret is safe with me" She adds, winking at me.

I gulp quietly and lay my head on my knees in shame.

how am I supposed to tell Bellamy about this?

i'm an awful person! how could I let this happen?!

After staring at my feet for so long that I begin to question my sanity, I hear the hatch open up.

Finn climbs out with Abby right behind him and I notice his eyes look around before landing on me. Nova nudges my shoulder and I elbow her with a glare.

"Oh, thank God. Where's Clarke?" Octavia asks as she wipes a wet cloth over Lincoln's head.

"Trying to stop a war" Finn declares.

I drag myself up and walk over to the group with Nova by my side.

"Pupils are unresponsive" Abby states.

"Tie off his arm. As tight as you can" She adds and Octavia does just that.

"Thanks to the supplies your brother found, Lincoln might have a chance" Abby tells Octavia as she extracts a liquid into a syringe.

"What's that?" I ask in confusion.

"This will bring down his fever" Abby answers before injecting it into Lincoln's arm.

Lincoln starts having another seizure and we all hold him down for Abby. He stops moving all together and his head hits the floor.

"What's happening? Why isn't it working?" Octavia worries.

"His heart stopped" Abby explains before giving the man chest compressions.

"You're their healer?" She asks Nyko who nods.

"Tilt his head back. Pull his chin down and open his airway" Abby orders and Nyko does it.

"Come on" Abby huffs out as she tries to start Lincoln's heart again.

Abby slowly stops and my head shakes in denial.

"You're stopping. What's wrong?" Nova demands.

"I'm sorry" Abby replies.

"He's gone" She adds.

"No, it's not possible. You're wrong!" Octavia screams and starts giving Lincoln chest compressions herself.

"Octavia" Bellamy frowns as the girl cries.

"Come back" She sobs.

"Octavia!" Nova shouts with tears running down her own face.

The grounder pulls the distraught girl into her arms and they cry together for their loss. Tears run down my face but I wipe them away, trying to stay strong for my friends.

Suddenly Clarke enters the drop ship and when I see multiple grounders following her, I jump to my feet and stand in front of Finn protectively, pulling my bow out my quiver.

My hand raises as I see the Commander nod at Indra who unsheathes her sword.

"Kill them all!" Indra shouts and I quickly nock an arrow in my bow.

Bellamy grabs his gun and Abby grabs the shock baton as all the grounders point their swords at us threateningly.

"Please. You don't have to do this" Clarke begs.

"You lied" The Commander spits angrily.

"And you're out of time" She adds.

Abby abruptly drops to her knees and shocks Lincoln's chest with the baton but he doesn't wake up.

"Hit him again" Clarke tells her mother.

Abby does just that and Lincoln gasps for air, waking up. Octavia crawls over to the man she loves and he looks up at her.

"Oh, Lincoln" She whimpers.

"Octavia" He whispers making her sigh in relief.

The grounders put away their weapons and Finn grabs the arrow from my bow. I shove my bow in my quiver and turn to Finn with a small smile.

He holds out my arrow and I gratefully take it from him, his hand lingering on mine longer than needed which makes me smile.
