#— WARNINGS: Topics mentioned in this chapter include, nightmares, description of a corpse (kind of)
Shrouded in smoke, you find yourself surrounded by raging flames and destruction. Completely caught unaware, surprise took you, unable to foresee how you ended up in this predicament. Then it hit you. Your son. Upon realization, you gasped and immediately heard the cries of your baby. You spun around the entire room, the sound of your voice echoing as you called out his name. "Kazuko!"
There are more cries, but you're not sure where they are coming from. The feeling of panic intensifies as you desperately search every corner, looking for Kazuko. The screams, growing louder and louder, seem to multiply as though there are more children hiding within the raging inferno. Insanity lingers in your mind, urging you to push further into the fire, consuming the babysitters home.
"Y/n...."
Not his voice, you said to yourself, pushing through the front and screamed. "Kazuko!!"
"You continue to shut me out as if I don't exist, but our son is living proof that you can't forget me."
"Shut up...shut up," you spoke under your breath, coughing between your sentences. As you come across a staircase that leads upstairs, you decide to climb up by using the wall instead of the railing for support. Walking up, you hear cackling, belonging to your mother and stepfather. "Kazuko is my son, Kouichi. He will never know about you or what you did to me."
"Selfish like always, Y/n. Then again, bringing up the past was always your excuse for everything, wasn't it?"
"Son!" Reaching the top of the stairs, you let out a cry. The house now only has a long hallway with one door at the end. With a sense of unease lingering in your throat, you gather your courage and take a cautious step forward. The sound of your baby's cries echoes so forcefully that it feels as if a powerful gust of wind is howling against the walls.
"Ever since you opened, you've caused nothing but problems. Look at lives you've ruined over the years-"
More familiar voices. Every memory resurfaced in your head of the people who you 'hurt'.
"Your parents, your old classmates, class A, and now the late babysitter,"
Although the ghost named all of them out loud, you ignored it and pressed on. Approaching the door, all you could think about was rescuing your boy and finally putting an end to this horrifying nightmare. Just as your hand reaches out to grasp the doorknob, you witness an intriguing sight - the door swings open by itself, revealing a pair of mesmerizing lilac eyes fixated on you. Next, you feel hands reaching around your waist, pulling you into a sturdy chest.
"You miss me, my love,"
Despite your efforts to resist, you nearing into Kouichi, feeling his arms enveloping you. You desperately wanted out of this nightmare. Eyes shut tight, fists slamming into his chest, head shaking vigorously. Your neck felt the touch of his lips, causing an awful shiver to run down your spine.
"Come on Y/n, our son wants to say hi,"
There was a weight that was pressing down on your chest, and surprisingly, it led you to settle down for a bit. Slowly opening your eyes, you looked down and were met with a horrifying sight. With your eyes widened in horror, a bone-chilling scream escaped your lips as you tightly gripped the remains of a charred skeleton.
Suddenly, you were jolted from slumber; your screams shattering the quiet like a clap of thunder. The sound that filled the air was one of pure, unfiltered agony, a cry that seemed to root from a deep, primal place within. Startled by a sudden awakening, Bakugou swiftly jumped out of the bed, his heart pounding in his chest as he witnessed you tossing and turning in the sheets, your face twisting with unimaginable horror.
"Y/n!" he shouted, shaking you gently, but with a force out of desperation. "Wake up! It's just a dream!"
In an instant, your eyes flew open; wide and terrified, as if awakening from a nightmare wasn't enough to spare you. It felt like the room was spinning; the shadows lengthening and coiling like the flames from your dreams. Your breaths were sharp and gasping, your body trembling with no control.
"I—I couldn't save him!" You cried out, your voice breaking as you clung to Bakugou, your nails digging into his the back of his shirt. "it's my fault...I c-couldn't-"
Bakugou held you tight, whispering against your cheek. "I'm sorry,"
With a gentle touch, he guided you back onto the bed and pulled you into his arms. Once again, he let you cry on his chest and all he could offer was the soothing touch of stroking your hair or pressing a gentle kiss to your temple.
"Why did it have to be him?" you choked out, your voice hoarse. "He was my everything...my reason for living...now he's gone..."
The impact of your words caused Bakugou's heart to tighten in his chest, as he was also experiencing the anguish of Kazuko's disappearance. Though he never admitted it yet, he loved your son so much that he unintentionally let a tear slip down his cheek. The raggedness of your breaths gradually faded away, and the tremors from your sobs were replaced by a state of exhausted stillness, but fragments of the nightmare clung to you like an unwanted cloak.
With the first hints of daylight peeking through the curtains, a pale, grayish glow obscured the room, and your sobs gradually faded into soft, quivering breaths. Bakugou held you until you were completely asleep, before he fell back asleep himself.
For now, the nightmare was over, but the echoes of Kouichi's voice would linger, a haunting reminder of the fear that had briefly made your world crumble. And as the morning light gently illuminated the room, you clung to Bakugou. The warmth of his embrace kept you close, and you listened to the beat of his heart.
Detective Tsukauchi meets Hisa as she arrives at the police station alongside Ms Joke. Hisa is sceptic as guided by the detective through the entire building until she eventually finds herself trapped in a lengthy hallway that leads to the interrogation rooms. Naomasa instructs Hisa to take a seat on a chair that is positioned across from a table. On the opposite side, sit two more chairs, reserved for Naomasa and the other for someone else. There's also a big camera standing behind the two seats with a light blinking, meaning Hisa is being recorded. Following Ms Joke's guidance, Hisa casts a glance towards the expansive window on her right, reassuring herself, and moments later, the door behind her swung open.
In the company of the detective, Aizawa enters the room. As Aizawa circles the table, he exchanges looks with Hisa, and then greets her once he finds his chair. Detective Tsukauchi, with a notepad and pen in hand, follows closely behind. Just as the officer settles down, Hisa immediately notices them.
"Before we begin, can you state your name and age for the record?" Naomasa asks, gesturing to the camera light blinking red.
"My name is Hisa Shinjitsu and I'm 18 years old," she answers quickly. Her left eye blinks green, showing that she's telling the truth.
"Thank you, Hisa," the man says, his pen clicking with a bewildering sound that leaves Hisa feeling confused.
"Uh sir, I'm confused. Why am I here?" Her eyes darted between the two men as she posed her question. A tense silence fills the air as the two individuals lock eyes, their gaze unyielding. Eventually, Naomasa breaks the staring contest, signaling Aizawa with a slight movement of his head, granting him the opportunity to ask his questions.
"We want names?" Aizawa practically demanded instead of Naomasa.
"Names?" The order has Hisa lifting a brow, unsure of what to make of it. Then it suddenly occurs to her, just by looking at Aizawa's expression. His twitching eyebrow and his arms folded over his chest said a lot. "You think Kouichi had something to do with Kazuko's disappearance?"
"Not just him?" Aizawa added on.
Naomasa jumps in. "We need to gather the names of individuals whom he is acquainted with, as well as any details regarding their quirks."
"Oh,"
It is through hours upon hours of collaboration that the police, with Hisa's valuable contribution, have come up with a comprehensive list of suspects in the ongoing investigation. Aizawa remembered all the names, especially the four boys who assisted Kouichi the night of your attack. The man will rain hellfire upon their heads—for you he would do anything.
I'll take fanart in exchanged for updates on the baby >:)
