why am I still in la - Joji
Reading through your medical book, you skimmed through every page, highlighting any key points you could find and annotated them in your notebook. You had one of your earphones blasting in your ear at full volume as you twirled the other around your finger. Your untouched ear listened out for anyone approaching the infirmary. You were sitting on a desk by an opened window. The books you've borrowed from the library sat open, giving you more notes to study. You haven't moved since Recovery girl left for the staff room. Anatomy, muscle, tissue—you're surprised your brain can handle all this information. Yet, it was a step closer to your dream of becoming a doctor.
"Please watch over the infirmary for a bit deary. I won't be long!" Was what the woman told you, and you allowed her willingly. The old woman longed for a short break which you didn't refuse. You even offered to accompany her, make her coffee, and fetch her lunch made by lunch rush.
She's been gone for almost an hour, which you didn't have a problem with. All you do during the day is study medicine, and that's it. It's like you're in medical school without all the stressful exams and due dates. Using your quirk is more used for practical lessons or with Recovery girl's permission while she's gone. You loved the apprenticeship and all the financial support you received from the school.
Tapping the side of your pencil on your book, you hummed a tune and gazed out the window, watching cars passing by the school gate. You were enjoying the lovely view before you heard footsteps not far from the door. Closing your books, you tucked a piece of your hair behind your ear and stuffed your phone in your pocket. As for your earphones, you left them on top of your books.
Then you heard a loud slap followed by a growl. "OW! The hell shitty hair!"
"Oops, sorry, didn't mean to slap you there, bro," Another voice spoke, chuckling sheepishly.
You opened the door, peering out, catching two boys, a shirtless redhead boy walking beside an injured ash-blonde boy clinging to his right arm, gushing out blood. You step out, grabbing the boys' attention. The redhead waves at you, and bakugou immediately recognize you as the girl sleeping in the library.
"Hey! you happened to know if recovery girl is around, or are you waiting for her as well?" He asked, stopping right in front of you.
"She's taking a break in the staff room, and I'm her apprentice, so I'm in charge while she's gone," You replied, earning a low husky from the blonde. You look at the blood dripping down his shoulder. "But you're in luck. I'm a healer. If you like, I can heal your injures,"
"Oh, cool! Did you hear that bakugou? This girl can get you back into fighting shape," Kirishima exclaimed, earning a low growl.
"It's better than nothing," He said, brushing past you and sitting down on one of the beds. You look back then face the red-haired boy rubbing the back of his neck. You noticed the scrapes and filth littering his skin and hero costume.
"How about you? Do you have any injuries you need tending to? I'll be happy to fix you up." You asked him, to which he shook his head side to side in response. "-Kirishima, right?"
"That's right, and no thanks, I'm good. I'm just concerned about my friend's shoulder, that's all," He said, flashing you a toothy grin. You replicated his smile.
"Oh please, Kirishima, you're the reason I got cut in the first place! Who pushes someone out a window!" Shouted Bakugou. You let out a little chuckle.
"Don't worry, healing him won't take long. I'll try to be quick," You assured him whilst laughing, holding the door and completely ignoring Bakugou. Your dad came into thought, making you jump."Oh, can you tell Mr Aizawa that Y/n said hi too? He knows who I am,"
"Y/n...Sure! Thank you for looking after my friend!" Kirishima beamed, bowing. "See you in class, Bakugou!"
With that, he ran off in the direction he came leaving behind the grumpy blonde ripping off the mask to his costume. You shut the door shaking your hands and rubbing your eyes, preparing them for what came next. You approached the silent boy lifting your arms up, hinting that you were about to touch him. He paid no mind until you asked. "This is gonna hurt a bit. Is it okay for me to touch you?"
"Yeah, whatever,"
"Kay," You pressed his cut together as a start to the healing procedure. Your hands and eyes started to glow a bright green. Maintaining eye contact on the large cut, you worked your magic as it slowly started to heal. The press of your hands made the process a whole lot faster, like mending a crack. You narrowed your eyes, focusing all your energy on the dry blood beginning to evaporate. Bakugou looks over his shoulder, watching, staring narrowly at his shoulder. He was captivated by your enticing green eyes and noticed the drowsiness showing. You started sweating by the time you finished the healing.
Panting, you shake your hands and blink your eyes a few times. "There! all done!"
Bakugou looked at his shoulder, seeing most of the blood splotches gone entirely, and he felt no pain as he poked it curiously. "Thanks, I guess,"
"How did you get that big cut anyway?" You decided to ask. "It looks like a quirk did this,"
"It was a glass shard! None of those idiots can lay a finger on me unless you're a stupid redhead who pushes people through a window on accident," Bakugou replies rolling his eyes.
"Oh, I see. Stage areas are the norm for causing injuries such as yours. Wait here for a second—" You explained, noticing more blood on the back of his arm. Clicking your tongue, you circled to the other side, seeing a spot of blood that travelled down his elbow. "Oh shit-"
"Uh...I gotta clean up the rest of the blood I didn't get. Don't move while I get some water," You ordered, walking away for a moment. You rubbed your eyes with your palms and reached inside a draw under the counter. Bakugou watched you pull out a few things, most he could see behind your body.
"I'm sorry. My quirk is useful for healing large injuries. Still, I tend to miss things a lot because my vision gets blurry," You apologized, holding a metal bowl in your hands. You filled the bowl with water using the sink on the counter. You asked Bakugou to turn his body and grabbed the cloth inside the bowl.
The glow of your eyes returned, and your hands worked the cloth up and down his arm. If done right, the skin of your fingers brushing his skin would heal what was left. Quickly, you finished up his arm, deactivating your quirk. The overuse had you covering your eyes and rubbing them continuously. Luckily you always kept eyedrops in your bag.
"God, that hurts," you cursed, reaching inside your bag for the eyedrops. You quickly screwed off the cap and held it over your face.
You squeezed eye drops into your eyes, which made Bakugou figure you out because of it. You wiped your fingers under your baggy eyes, preparing yourself for another round of using your quirk for later on when he asked. "You're Aizawa's daughter, aren't you?"
