VOID TOOK a heavy step against the hospital flooring, his arms swaying by his side as the Oni surrounded him. His dark eyes glossed over the frightened faces of each doctor, nurse and pedestrian alike. They dodged and clambered out of his way as the lights flickered above and cast a dark shadow across the building.ย
The scuffling of his shoes came to a halt as stood before the reception desk. Void's pale, veined hands traced along the chipped wood until it lingered over the metal bell.ย
A ghost of a smirk tugged at his lips before his finger tapped against it. "Hi, there." he watched as the man's eyes widened at the charcoal smoke and shielded warriors behind him. "Could you page Melissa McCall for me, please?"
As silence engulfed them all, one of the Oni dragged his fist back and plunged his sword through the desk - skewering the man before them. Void's eyes fell emotionlessly to his stomach before clawing back up to his eyes. This time, he didn't hide his smile as he watched the doctor fall to the floor. He tilted his head to the supernatural beside him and sighed ruthlessly. "Well, I guess I'll just have to find her myself."

James Garcia's eyes adjusted to the flashlight that shone brightly in them. He was severely dehydrated - to the point of seeing illusions and hearing voices - atleast, thats how the doctor explained it.ย
Betty-Ann crossed her arms disapprovingly at the lawyer. "I told you not to be up and walking around."ย
The Garcia shrugged nonchalantly at the nurse. "It was an important call," he mumbled. "Well, it would've been."
She grew silent, "You called out for a woman." she paused. "A Marilyn. That your girlfriend?"
Jim's demeanour shifted. He quickly averted his eyes to the floor and frowned. "Wife," he mumbled while lifting up his ring-finger. "Widowed."ย
The doctors had brushed off his illusions of Marilyn Garcia as nothing more than dehydrated hallucinations. But James knew it was more than that. He could still smell the tinge of saltwater and perfume linger around the room like a lost ghost.ย
The Nurse nodded her head and pressed the clipboard close to her chest. "You're allowed to miss her, James."
"I don't need a shrink." The Lawyer snapped abruptly.ย Nobody could understand the relationship between him and Marilyn - no matter how hard they tried. Betty sighed heavily and left the room, leaving the Garcia wondering about his beloved late wife.ย
No matter how blue he felt, a small smile made its way to his face as he thought about her. He remembered their first meeting. In a small cafe in the middle of Dallas, Texas, he sat alone at a booth surrounded by cigarette smoke and bottles. He was different back then, just another rookie lawyer with a taste for trouble and a little too much liquor.ย
He was simply there for work but as he heard the bell jingle and the footsteps of the woman before him - something told him he had to stay. Marilyn was immediately the apple of his eye. Hair slightly wet, pent up in a pretty sundress and a single flower tucked behind her ear. James took notice of Marilyn's harmonic voice and subtle mystery. Nobody knew her or where she had come from - just washed ashore like another divine seashell.
Marilyn spoke with confidence. Sang with passion. Lived with bliss.ย ย
He slowly felt the smile fade away.ย
Was it even possible that after all these years, that he really saw her again?

Stiles Stilinski lay breathlessly in the backseat of his jeep. He was dying - that was evident enough. He could feel the oxygen seep from his lungs and the ache of his own bones.ย
Both Lydia and Dallas had helped sit him up while Scott drove them to the school with Kira at his side. Lydia persisted to the group that she had a 'bad feeling'. Considering her past experience, they decided it was in their best interest to listen to that feeling.ย
They barely had time to process the death of Allison Argent. The death of one of their own. However, all could feel the hole she had left. The group felt empty and hollow... anxious if Stiles would be next.ย
As they all climbed out of the jeep, Dallas sent Lydia a bewildered look. "Wait," she turned to the banshee. The Stilinski's arm was still slung over her shoulder. "Why the school?"
Lydia shook her head in dismay as she lay eyes on it. "I don't know." she paused. "It just.. called to me."
As they all rushed towards the entrance doors, Stiles grabbed his best friend's attention. "Scott, hold on." They all turned to him, his girlfriend included. "I know what you're all thinking."
Dallas didn't like where this was going.ย
"If we kill him.. we might kill me too." he frowned. "But even if it does, you have to go through with it." Stiles avoided the burning look of Dallas beside him. "Stick with the plan, okay?"
Scott gave the Stilinski a confident look. "The plan is to save you." he affirmed. Dallas felt Stiles' grasp on her tighten as he let out a heavy breath. "That's the plan I'm going with."
Dallas couldn't lose Stiles. Not so soon - not so tragically. The number of people in her life was dwindling terribly and the siren wasn't sure if she could handle another.ย She swallowed down the lump that had formed in her throat and leant against her boyfriend. Stiles took a side glance at her.ย
If this was how he'd die - beside the girl he had loved for too many years to count - then he spent his final years well.ย
Scott McCall shoved against the heavy doors. Although, instead of the looming hallways, a snowy garden landscape stared back.ย
The snow was rather ashy and stuck to the ends of the siren's hair. She watched as Kira lifted her hand and caught a few flakes onto her palm. It was eerily silent. Only their sharp breaths and the soft sound of swaying snow to be heard.
The silence didn't last long, though, as the doors came to a heavy slam. Echoey footsteps accompanied the sound until the group glued their eyes to its origin.ย
Void slithered out from his darkness. But now, he was in a form that was truly his. Not wearing the face of someone they knew - just one they feared. Behind the bandage that swirled around his face sat a pair of deep-set and vindictive eyes. They buried themselves into Stiles before the demon lurked closer.ย
While Kira drew her sword and Stiles took a cautious step closer, the McCall watched as Lydia's eyes pooled with fear.ย
Dallas knew fear. She lived with it most of her life. Fear of judgement. Fear of rejection. Fear of the unknown. Strangely, she didn't fear Void. He had spent too much time trying to make her his protege that he forgot the hatred she held in her heart for him.ย
His words echoed in her head. "Sorry about your dad, Dallie."
"He just knew too much."
Then perhaps he should've taken a tip from her father. After all, the last person you'd want to terrorise was the maneater. Nevermind the people she cared about.ย
"Like I promised, Stiles." he hissed. "We're going to kill all of them. One by one."
It dawned upon Dallas that he knew she would never be his perfect little devotee. Just as it dawned upon Void that she'd be happy to see his head on a platter instead.ย
The Oni spawned around them, swords in hand, creeping closer with each threatening step. "What the hell is this?" Scott spat. "Where are we?"
"Between life and death."
"Although, there are no peaceful deities here Lydia." Void grinned. "And Dallas?" he watched the girl narrow her eyes his way. "I doubt you'll find your mother in either."
If Stiles wasn't pushing her back away from the Oni with his hand, Dallas was sure she would've lunged at him right then and there.ย
"You're dying, Stiles." the demon mocked. "And now everyone you care about is dying too."ย
His eyes brightened like lighthouses shining through the sea. Dallas heard more sadistic exchanges between the two but her attention was torn away once more.ย
She glanced down at her hands and felt them shake at the appearance of the scales that seemed to bump underneath her sleeves and onto her wrist. The feeling of anxiety and helplessness seemed to seep away at the appearance of them. It had been a long time since she had eaten - and her primal instincts had started to kick in.ย
What if she didn't fight it?
"Why? Why are you doing this?"
"To win the game."
An arrow flew their way. One Dallas caught inches before Scott's face. The Siren connected eyes with the particular Oni as chaos erupted around them. The sharpened edge sliced across her finger and began to blot with the crimson liquid before she placed it on her tongue.ย ย
He stepped back into the fish pond as the water climbed up his legs. As he sunk lower and thrashed his arms against the water. The Siren cocked her head to the side as the fish swam closer to the surface and began snapping at his arm and mask. Breaking apart before her very eyes as the animals tore him apart, she slammed her boot against his face before his mask was nothing but dust at the bottom of the pond.ย
Lydia remained ducked underneath the small bridge as Stiles watched the terror unfold around him. He lay eyes on the small chemistry book that was hidden underneath the snow and glanced up at the Nogitsune.
"You don't have any moves left." It taunted. It was something that made Stiles' eyebrows furrow softly while a short scoff left his mouth.
"I do." he whispered. "A divine move."ย ย
He glanced up at Dallas who didn't seem to listen. She was too pent up with anger, bitterness and hunger to notice. "Stop fighting them." he pulled gently at her wrists before turning to Scott. "It's not real. Its an illusion."
Scott stood bewildered. He shared a look of doubt with the Garcia who tried to control her murderous thoughts. "Hey, Scott. You gotta trust me man. I know it looks real and feels real.. but its not."
The Alpha twisted his face to The Nogitsune. The Oni lined up in front but that didn't stop Scott from drawing closer. Even when their swords sliced against his chest, he kept moving.ย
His boots fumbled against the snow while blood seeped from his shirt. With claws extended and eyes gleamed red, he grabbed ahold of the demon and shoved him agains the heavy iced door. What he didn't expect, however, was fall right through it.ย
The entire group fell too and stumbled over their own feet. The Demon had disappeared and in his place stood an empty hallway. Scott let out a breath of relief as he ran his hand against his unscathed stomach. "We're okay." he let out a breathless chuckle. "We're-"ย
White noise entered his ears. Before he could even finish his sentence, he was thrown into the lockers. "Hi," Void let out a sadistic smile from behind them before knocking the Kira down next. Then Lydia, then finally, Dallas herself.ย
"Such wasted potential." he hissed down at her as she faced away from him.ย
Dallas tasted the blood on her lower lip before glancing down at her piercing claws. She slung her arm back and struck him across the face with them. As blood seemed to blot on his cheek, he stumbled backwards. His illusioned disguise seemed to fall apart before her eyes as she felt Stiles pull her up from the floor. "This is my game," the demon mumbled manically. "You think you can beat me at my game?" Void shook with anger as blood poured down his cheek. The scratch was deeper than intended and plagued half of his face.ย
In a slow, manic fashion, Void shook his head slightly. "Divine move?" he began to yell as Stiles shuffled down the hallways with the siren behind her. His blood stained her nails and dripped down her fingers. "You think you have any moves at all, huh?"
"You can kill the Oni. But me?"ย
"Me?" His voice filled with venom. "I'm a thousand years old. You can't kill me!"
Stiles swallowed harshly. "No," he paused. "But she can hurt you."
Void glanced between them. He didn't notice how the scratch on his face seemed to worsen. Blackening around the edges. "What?" Void glanced at his reflection in the locker door. His face warped with blackish veins.ย
"You don't think Venom just came from teeth, did you?" she mused. "Wasted potential." The Siren mimed his actions.ย
Dallas slid by Stiles and took a cautionary step towards Void who took another one back. Instead of the feeling the slanted floor against his feet - the demon stumbled into Scott.ย
"You can't be a fox and a wolf." Stiles spat.ย
It was all a ploy. The Siren's venom would've only weakened him for so long. Long enough for Scott to take a bite out of him - and that's exactly what he did.ย
Pulling at his arm and extending his jaw, Scott McCall buried his teeth into the demon as his yells echoed throughout the night. When he let go, Kira shoved her sword through his chest.ย
Lydia's scream shook the walls as the demon fell to his knees. Electricity trickled around them as they all clutched their ears. The final fly escaped his mouth before Isaac Lahey trapped it inside the triskele box at the end of the hall and screwed the lid on tightly.ย
The blackened veins on the demon's face had began to crack. The scratch fell through his face like broken glass and eventually, his corpse fell to the floor in a pile of dust.ย
The dreaded silence soon broke as Isaac Lahey sighed awkwardly.ย
"Want me to get a broom?"ย ย
