DALLAS AWOKE RATHER ABRUPTLY, while pains shot down her neck and her throat became a symphony of croaks and sore swallows, her eyes adjusted to the light. She sat up from her slouched position and instantly caressed the edge of her spine with her fingers.ย

The air was cold on her arms and wind whistled through the many broken windows around her. As the sight of her surroundings melted back from its blurriness, she dropped her hand to the odd storage box she sat on.ย

The wood prickled against her skin and flickering illuminating lights shone down on her skin with their unnatural glow.ย

"Sybil?" She coughed out as the name came out hoarser than she intended. Sliding off the box, she took a deeper glance at her surroundings. It was a storage facility - an abandoned one by the looks of it. However, life had been there quite recently as a deck of cards sat on a table that accompanied two chairs. A little left to it was a cell door that swung open that had a slight bend to the bars.

"Hello?" she called out as the swishing of water echoed out in the distance. Square pools of aqua were implanted in the floor with various meathooks around them. Some bloody, some not. Something told Dallas that they weren't bloody due to animal meat, though.

A long, metallic scratch caught her attention as the Staff of Arcadius dragged harshly against the cell doors. When she stretched her head around, Sybil tapped it against her palm and pursed her lips.ย

"You know what this is, Dallas?"ย

The teenager couldn't bite back her sarcastic remark. "A really old pair of tongs?"ย

Sybil cracked a smile but it seemed more menacing than warm. Her steps seemed much louder than before while her chest rose and fell with each breath. "This used to belong to a really old God." she ran her finger against its rusted metal. "Call it a pitchfork."

"I'm not one for scary stories." Dallas flickered her eyes from the fork.ย

"It's funny how invincible you think you are." Sybil tutted with a conflicted look. "One hit of this tuning fork and well.. we'd both be trying to pull our brains out of our heads."

Dallas didn't trust Sybil one bit. Not anymore. She had empty eyes and spoke like a woman who had nothing to lose. "You're lucky it's in my hands."ย

"Not for long." Dallas whipped her head back at a woman she didn't recognise, Sybil however, softened at the look of the woman.ย

"Seline-"

Oh, her other aunt.ย

In just a short time, Dallas went from having almost no family to an abundance of them and she wasn't too sure if that was a good thing.ย

"Sybil put the fork down." Seline stood beside her niece who glanced down at her hands. The water trashed back and forth and climbed the edges of the floor as tensions grew high between the maneaters. "Now."

Sybil's face contorted into confusion as she stared at both Sirens. "You wanted our sister back. I made do with what I had."

"You locked Marilyn up and tortured her, Sybil!" The girl scolded her sister. "And then kidnapped our niece to fill the hole. That's not what I wanted."

Sybil felt betrayed. Disregarded even. The woman's look soured and the grip on the fork tightened. "This fork is the only thing keeping the boys from hurting me, Seline." She took a step back. "I'm not giving it back."

Seline glanced to Dallas who was doused in confusion before turning back to Sybil. "Syb.. where are they now?"

She clutched the metal close to her chest and hardened her look. "That boy was taking up too much of your time. You can't rely on men, Dallas." she directed her look to the teenager who grew wide-eyed. "Damon's gonna take care of that attachment problem you have."

With white eyes and baring her teeth, Dallas stepped forward. "You what?"

Stiles spun on the chair that was positioned in front of his desk while his shoulders slumped into the backrest. The phone was clung to his ear while he anxiously toyed with the zipper of his hoodie.

"Hey, baby, it's uh- it's me again." he furrowed his eyebrows. "I know you probably lost your charger or something, but uh, you weren't at home." Stiles then stared down at the completed list. "And you're not picking up."

The boy pushed down the feeling in his gut and ran a hand behind his neck. "I don't know if I freaked you out with the whole 'I love you' thing, I thought you were cool with that? I don't know. Just.. just please call me back?"

And with that, his message was directed to voicemail. Again. Stiles knew he had a tendency to overreact and pushed the worry deep down into his gut. But since his girlfriend had her name on a hitlist and a high number next to it, how could he not worry?

He dropped his head to his hands and studied the list a little more until the echoey doorbell rang throughout his empty house. With relief coursing through his veins and a pip in his step, the teenager rushed down the stairs and pulled open the door with a wide grin.

"I was starting to think you left town or something-"

His sentence came to a steep halt. It wasn't Dallas. It wasn't anything remotely close to Dallas. Instead, a leather-clad man stood at the door with a condescending and lopsided grin as he lifted his finger from the doorbell.

"Sorry to bother you, but do you have a phone I could use?" Damon's eyes were sunken and while he held no personal grudge against the boy, orders were orders and no matter how he tried, he couldn't defy Sybil. "My car broke down a few streets back."

The Stilinski boy gave him a sceptical but replied nonetheless. "Yeah, sure." he took an experimental step back from the door before dishing his own personal phone out of his pocket. "My jeep breaks down all the time, piece of crap, I could call a service for you. I have the number saved by now-"

Damon chuckled darkly and shook his head. "You don't have a wired phone?"

"Who uses them things nowadays, am I right?" he tried to joke but the vampire was having none of it. When Stiles grinned up and ignored the tension, Damon found himself at a loss. "It should be here in a couple of minutes, dude."

"Can I use your bathroom?"

Sybil gave Dallas a stern look. "You can't depend on humans, Dallas." she hissed. "You eat them, not love them."

Seline glanced to Dallas. "Do you know where he is?"

The girl found herself at a loss for words. "I.. I have no idea." she swallowed. Stiles was the biggest thing Sybil could take from her - and she knew that.

"Move out of my way." Dallas tried to push past her and rush her way towards his house, but Sybil grabbed her by the shoulder and slammed her against the wall. The wind swept from her chest and when her eyes opened back up, they were pure white.

"I have worked my ass off to get us here, " Sybil glared to both Sirens. "I'm not having everything lost over a few petty feelings!"

Dallas dusted herself off and blew the hair out of her face. "Move out of my way," she paused, her eyes growing a much deeper white and scales starting to outline her cheekbones. "Or I'll do more than just hurt you, Sybil."

The woman raised a brow. "My, look at you!" she cocked her head to the side and ignored Seline's efforts to defuse the situation. "Is this what is takes to get a rise out of you? To threaten some meaningless boy? The best part about Damon is that he always comes through on his promises."

The Garcia pursed her lips as her eyes narrowed through the muddy darkness. Her hands intertwined and span around each other like the weaving of a web as water seeped from the pools and blue light emitted from her palms. "You really should've moved."

It grasped the edges of her ankles and much like the red sea, it parted and created a wall of crashing waves behind her. It clung to her stomach and swirled around her body like a lost entity.ย

Her hands strained and her stance buckled as the water took up all her power. It wasn't easy. However, nothing ever seemed to be nowadays. Its shadow stood high over the girls while sprinkles of light flickered through its transparent blue body, waiting and begging for the moment to be released from her hold.ย

Stop refusing it and it will bend to your will.

".. How are you doing that?"ย

Dallas dropped her eyes to the floor as a breathless laugh left her mouth. "You're right." she cocked to the side as her thoughts flooded her mind. "They'll never see me as anything but this." she soured. "They're scared of me, aren't they?"

Sybil watched her every move with intent. The more emotional Dallas became, the harsher the waves slashed behind her. "Did you really expect anything else?"

Her eyes shot up but this time a bright white and welling up with tears. "No." she swallowed hard as Seline took an experimental step forward. "No, I didn't."ย

"But I won't let you hurt the only person who doesn't."

She then pulled her hands back towards her stomach and in one swift push, the tall sea broke out into sharp-edged waves that tumbled their way across the room destroying everything in its path.ย

Sybil dropped the fork to the ground as the water picked her up from each limb and threw her against the wall. It sat its heavy weight on her chest and anchored her to the ground while Dallas felt Seline's eyes linger on her.ย

"Call him off." she hissed as the water came at a crushing weight.ย

"Dallas-" Seline attempted to keep the girl calm but was cut off by her sister.ย

"I can't." Sybil breathlessly huffed. "He's too far gone. He'll never hear me - and you'll never reach him in time."

Dallie's look became unremorseful and while her hands span around each other, her hands clenched tighter around the ball of light and the slithering waves of water tightened around her neck. Her neck was at a breaking point - not one that would permanently kill her, but one that would lessen the deep hatred the Garcia felt as of now.ย

Her grasp on reality faded with each and every flex of her fingers. However, when Seline blocked her view, Sybil let out a fresh gasp of air.ย

"I'll deal with my sister, you go and save him." She placed both hands on the side of her shoulder. "Don't become what she says you are."

Dallas stared at her with illuminating eyes. "What if I already am?"

Stiles stepped backwards and stumbled over his carpet as Damon Salvatore edged closer. His heavy footprints dug into the cotton while the creaking of his leather soaked up the silence.ย

"You seem like a nice kid."

Damon's blue eyes melted into a red of fury and darkened around the edges while veins crept out from underneath. "I won't enjoy this if it makes you feel any better."

Sharp teeth formed in his mouth. Stiles had seen that look many times before, more so, on his girlfriend. Yet this was the first time he was the victim of it.ย  He tried to scramble back, to pick up anything that he could defend himself with - and he did.ย

He picked up a lamp.ย

"Stay back!" he threatened. "Or I'll.. i'll-"

"You'll what?" Damon taunted with a vampiric gaze. "What exactly are you gonna do with that lamp, Stiles?"

The boy swallowed in fear and dropped it to the floor. Within moments, Damon sped to the lanky teenager and threw him into the table. Stiles felt blood soak into his shirt as glass surrounded his defeated body. This was it. This was his death. He didn't even get to finish high school before somebody took him out.ย

"Try not to scream." Damon stood over the boy and slammed his boot down on his leg and dug the rubber deep into his gash. Stiles bit back hisses and yelps as the vampire continued to play with his food. "I hate it when they scream."

Damon leant over to pick the boy up by his throat, but before he could, a heavy chair swung into the back of his head and he was left with a slight headache and a bitter look.ย

He scowled and turned his head around to face where it came from. A little disgruntled and exceptionally pissed off Dallas Garcia stood behind him while wooden fragments scattered around her feet.ย

"You missed, kiddo."

He didn't have much longer to jeer as both of her hands set on his temples and with a concentrated breath, frazzled his brain to the point of exhaustion.

Damon dropped to his knees while Stiles backed up from both the maneaters - well, people-eaters in the Salvatore's case.ย

Back at the storage unit, Seline stood over her sister with a warm look. "You need to let them go, Sybil."

The maneater shook her head. "I cant. " she hissed. "You don't get it, they'd kill me."

"The longer they're under your control, the more they'll want to." Seline knelt down. "You think Marilyn would ever forgive you for this?... she never forgave me."

"Marilyn hates us."ย

"Maybe," she mumbled. "But we're still a family. Dallas included. Killing the people she cares about will only push them away, Syb."

The girl focused and fluttered her eyes shut. It was true, Damon and Enzo would come after her - but with two other Sirens with the same and more power, would it even be worth it? "Would you protect me?" Sybil hesitantly glanced at Seline.ย

"Of course I'd protect you." Seline's look hardened. "I'll protect all of us."

โŠฑ โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€เฎ“เน‘โ™กเน‘เฎ“ โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€โ”€ โŠฐ

Dallas ignored how Damon sat hunched over clutching his brain and dropped beside Stiles who clutched his bleeding leg and hissed loudly at the broken skin. "This is all my fault." she choked back. "I'm so sorry, Stiles."

He opened his mouth to speak but shot his eyes to the vampire who clawed his way up from the floor. Disbelief wavered over his sharp features while he glanced around the room. He then dropped his eyes to the two teenagers - one who had illuminating white eyes and a look sour enough to kill.ย

She narrowed her eyes at him as he stared down at the broken furniture around him as he stood up. Dallas didn't pay much attention to the sweep of wind that coursed through her as the vampire left. Or why he decided to leave in the first place. Little did she know Sybil had done as she asked. Enzo and Damon were free from her control - but what would that unleash?

She didn't care about any of that right now. Dallas didn't care about Sybil, Seline, Marilyn or Damon. She didn't care about the list, the fork or its power. She truly didn't care about any of it all.ย

She cared that Stiles got hurt. She cared that he got hurt because of her.ย ย

Her anchor. Her Stiles.ย

"Hey.. hey, I'm okay." Stiles chuckled through a wince as he lifted his hand up to her cheek while tears gathered in her pretty brown eyes. "A little bloodied and bruised," he swallowed. "But I'm okay."

Dallas sighed heavily and leant into his touch. "This is all my fault."

Stiles shook his head in dismay. "Technically, it's your aunt's fault." he winced. "And mine for inviting a stupid vampire into my house."

She laughed through the tears that had gathered in her eyes while Stiles grinned widely. "See, I'm fine." he hummed. "Maybe I'll get a cool scar I can impress you with."

Dallas glanced at the sticky red liquid that coated his jeans and grimaced. "I don't know how to control it." she stared down at her hands. "And if I didn't get there quick enough, he could've-"

He found himself at a loss for words as he watched her crumble completely. "But he didn't. And you were." he lifted his thumb and placed it on the edge of her chin. "See? I can always count on my girl."

"And you say I have too much faith in you?" Dallas cocked a brow jokingly but was visibly broken.

Stiles leaned forward, placing his forehead against hers. "A few bruises and cuts aren't gonna scare me away from you." he ran his finger over the hands that had caused so much destruction, but so much love too. "How many times do I have to say I love you before you start believing it?"

"You shouldn't." Dallas glanced up as she chewed on her lower lip.ย

"And yet, I do."

Dallas felt overwhelmed by the sight of him. But his voice, his gaze and his touch settled the storm inside of her. "You're an idiot, Stilinski." she mumbled with a slight smile.

Stiles lay his head back and grinned stupidly through a wince. "Only for you."

Dallas was careful not to lean on any of his wounds as she kissed him while his hand brushed her hair out of her face delicately. She made sure her kiss was gentle as everywhere else on his body ached. However, he wasn't too bothered and instead pulled her closer with a harsher grasp.ย

When she pulled away with a flustered look, she attempted to stand up and help him up with her, but he pulled her back down gently. "Stay with me?"

Dallas nodded slightly before sitting back down before him and laying her head on his chest while fumbling with the zipper on his hoodie.ย

They had all the time in the world to act tough and prove themselves, but for right now, they were okay with just being two kids who were too lovesick for their own good. And Stiles, well, Stiles glanced down at Dallie with a half-smile.

Only a dream girl like her could convince herself she was the stuff of nightmares.ย

And only she would need someone like him to remind her she wasn't.
