𝗔𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗸𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴. Exactly what he was doing.
He knew how much stress this was putting on Vox, and he loved every second of it, that sadistic bastard.
But that wasn't necessarily new for him, was it? He'd always been like that.
So, standing upright and straight, trying to keep a steady posture, he kept that god-awful smile on his face as he noticed Vox walking out.
To Alastor, it was like a battle of wits. Who would crumble first under the stare of the other? Only time would tell.
"Alastor." A voice sounded. A familiar voice, one that Alastor had been waiting for.
"Ah, old friend. Good evening." Alastor replied, taking a quick step towards Vox, his cane in hand.
Vox had a not-so-amused look on his face as he took a step back, away from the other Overlord. "Don't even try me with that 'old friend' bullshit. What do you want?"
"Does a friend need a reason to visit his rival?" Alastor said in a nearly teasing tone, as if he was purposefully mocking Vox. Which, of course, he was.
Vox looked like his patience was nearly gone by now, standing in front of Alastor and genuinely trying not to tackle him and rip those stupid fluffy ears off. "He does. Why are you here? Where have you been?"
Alastor let out a sharp little laugh, as if he found this whole interaction amusing. "Oh, come on, Vox, I'd just like to see you. How are you doing?"
Vox scowled slightly at Alastor's words, his screen glitching a little before he pushed his anger down, clearing his throat. "Why do you care? You didn't care for the seven years you were gone for. Where were you?"
Alastor gave him that stupid, stupid, smile again as he responded in a slightly cheerful tone. "That's for me to know, and for you to wonder about, dear."
"Don't call me that-" Vox snapped back at the mocking nickname. "You son of a bitch."
"Come on, you can find a better insult than that!" Alastor barked out another mocking laugh. "Don't you have those...television shows? Don't tell me you aren't funny on those. Oh, wait. You aren't."
Vox started to lose his patience, and that was clear as day. He had a less than amused look as he glared at Alastor, his demeanor sharp and cold. "Don't even try. I'm much more successful than you'll ever be, you bastard."
Alastor seemed completely unfazed at his rival's words. "You act as if I'm the bane of your existence. I can't possibly be that bad."
"You are, don't deny it." Vox grumbled under his breath, taking a step back from Alastor and more towards the V Tower in the background.
"Get out of here, Alastor. No one wants you, just like before." Vox snapped sharply, turning to leave.
Alastor stayed put, keeping in one spot as his eyes trailed after Vox.
"I'm not disappearing again just yet, Vox. You'll see."
And with those final words, with Alastor being the type to always get the last words in a conversation, he disappeared into the shadows, like he always did.
"...coward." Vox grunted slightly as he saw him disappear, looking around the outside of the
V Tower quickly before walking back in, to see Velvette and Valentino waiting.
"So? How did it go?" Valentino asked, his frame leaning against a pillar as he spoke the question. "Good? Bad? Did you finally kill him?"
"No." Vox complained, his hands still behind his back as he walked closer to the other Vees. "The fucker just disappeared like he always does. Fuckin'...coward.."
Velvette seemed a lot less interested, peering up from her phone to glance at Vox. "That's on you for going out there."
Vox whipped around, glaring at Velvette. "It was your idea for me to go out there!"
Velvette shrugged nonchalantly. "Never said it was a good idea. Just an idea."
Vox felt his eye twitch a little as he scoffed, grumbling under his breath as he walked away without another word, disappearing into the halls of the tower.
